Now, of course Bike Doctor sells and services waayyy better bikes than a GT Aggressor, but we were not treated any differently than a customer bringing in a $5000 bike for service. We were quoted a 4 week turn around for service and if we wanted to just purchase the parts and make the repairs on our own, the parts would take about a week to arrive. So we agreed to purchase the parts and necessary tools. The guy rolled the bike to the back to get the part number so we could order them. Fast forward about 10 minutes, the mechanic comes out of the repair area with the bottom bracket in his hand, and he explains to us that there is nothing wrong with it, and if he puts it all back together and tightens it up we would be fine!! He told me to take a picture of the part number incase we have any issues in the future, and he would start putting it back together. Whoaaaa! So much for that 4 week wait time!!! About 35 minutes and $20 later my neighbor is walking out of the store with his repaired bike and a HUGE smile. I will definitely be patronizing this bike shop for all of my cycling needs, and I will be encouraging others to do the same. Thank you very much Bike Doctor!!! ‍‍‍

The rep fitted our kids with their helmets which cost 75 each. I don't know anything about bikes or helmets or fit, so I bought what she said was right. We started using them. About three weeks later, someone points out that my son's helmet is too small, doesn't cover his forehead. I decided to trust Croft on bike doc people since they must know what they are doing. A few days later someone else says the same thing. So I call them...wondering if they can reevaluate. This is an expensive helmet, and my kids safety is paramount. Welp, they said I was a few days outside of their 30 day return/exchange window. Wouldn't budge. Looks like we'll be shopping for a helmet and our bikes elsewhere. Anyway, place doesn't correct mistakes, and too inflexible on such a small thing to keep a return customer happy and safe without charging them more money.

A mile is a hike in bike shoes so my husband tried to get the tire off but it was extra tight and he was hungry and exhausted so biked on to get the truck. While I was waiting, two guys rode by on the grass on powered bikes one waved so I waved back. After passing they stopped talked to each other and turned around asked was I ok-yes just waiting on hubby to pick me up couldn't get the tire off to fix my flat. I can try if you like says, Nick. I said no thank you, I'm good. He then shared that he worked at Pedal Pushers and he fixes bikes all the time so if I had my tools he would give it a shot. Needless to say in seconds he had the tire off and tube out, only my husband had taken the new ones with him! Suffering Succotash! Nick and his friend were so considerate to stop. Nick's skills were superb. After removing the tube he check my tire for glass, chatted about how he hadn't seen a Motobecane in years and taught me a few things. However, there is sometimes a place for "experts", people who do a thing, who have trained, and prepared, and have the tools to achieve a correct outcome. There is nothing wrong with getting some tips for a minor problem, and (if you are a bit handy) taking the DIY route on something. However there are some things that we should leave to those who have trained, worked hard to acheive the skills to do a thing; governance, surgery, complex plumbing, electric, tree felling, bicycle derailleurs! I have the luxury of being able to leave work in the middle of a day on Friday. I called, they were available, we drove over, they took the bike right in. Had some pleasant conversation, they fixed it in 15 minutes ($20), and educated us [they always do]. We have been here 3 times now, and 3 times an absolutely 100% positive experience. This is a quality business, with capable caring folks. Good products/service/expertise isn't "cheap" it shouldn't be. This place cares about the work they do, they care about cyclists and they are an excellent resource. This is our new "go to".

Yep, tire flat. So I jump online to figure out what time this bike shop opens, 11AM. I call in case they do a seasonal shutdown and they confirm they are open for business. We are promptly served, about 5 folks working upfront. We are in/out within 30 minutes with a new tire tube installed plus some advice on future service I will need after I request an inspection for other defects. So I suspect I'll take my bike back at the end of this riding season or early Spring 2025. Their inventory is awesome. There was a customized none-motorized bike upfront waiting for pickup that cost $8K. Mine blowing! They have lots of e-bike too. They have lots of bikes, period. They have a small 2 seat waiting area with coffee service. I bought my bike from them, many moons ago and she's still in pretty good shape(except from being dirty I was told with a smile). The recommended future service stuff is low cost routine maintenance type stuff IMO.

I was contacted after the original due date to inform me of the additional length of time. Once the repair was completed, I needed an adjustment to meet my original specs. This adjustment was performed while I waited, which I was happy about. Lastly, the final cost was about 20% higher than the estimate. No explanation offered. Overall, the shop is cool, nice inventory, nice location, plenty of accessories, cool staff and a competent repair shop. Hours of operation are from 12-5 from M-Sat which doesn't fit a normal customer's work schedule at all. I had to either take off work or plan a Saturday around this repair. But having said that, I'm sure management has a good reason for these hours of operation.

I wanted to get the handlebars adjusted on my Specialized road bike, but they went above and beyond. They started working on my bike as soon as I walked in. In addition to adjusting the handlebars, they advised me that my seat was too low and adjusted it as well. They took measurements and also gave me tips on how my hands should rest on the handlebars to avoid fatigue. I highly recommend Family Bicycles!!!

This place is the worst. We purchased a bike for my son here and a few months later the derailer…read morebroke. We live right around the corner so we took it here, but they said they weren't taking any bikes because their tech was out for an extended time. We'd check back every now and then but got the same answer, so we packed it up for the winter and just a few weeks ago I had my son and daughter bring it back. The staff, instead of just taking the bike back (which is still under warranty) chose to make a big fuss and turn us away for not having a repair #, but also stating that the bike couldn't have been damaged the way my son had stated. We call asurion and get a repair number, and then resubmit the bike. They never called us, or have me paperwork, so 2 weeks later when I pop in the guy says they can't repair the bike. At the time I thought nothing of it, and was prepared to take it to Annapolis, which is out of the way, but it was the only option. However when we came back to pick it up, I read the sign that said clear as day "if we can't repair the bike we will replace it" and we questioned the staff member about it. Scott, who we initially talked to when my kids brought the bike in, and the same day when I brought it back stated that he was the tech that was out when we initially were attempting to get it fixed. He is solely focused on the fact that the bike couldn't have broken the way my son stated, and was personally refusing to fix the bike, even though we already got the go ahead from the warranty people. Scott, is telling us that him and another manager CJ, have deemed what happened to the bike to be neglect, and have decided that they won't help us any further. They just let the bike sit in the rafter for 2 weeks, and never contacted asurion to submit any update on the bike. We argued for about 30 minutes, but got nowhere. They tried twisting our words, and down right lying about what had taken place in our prior dealing with them, and now Scott all of a sudden says he wasn't even the bike tech, but he's the person most hell bent on not honoring our warranty. Which the store doesn't even have to pay to fix, because it's under warranty. The neglect that they speak of is that they don't believe how my son claimed it broke, but let's be for real he's 15 and could possibly be withholding some details, but regardless the bike is under warranty and we didn't even need to offer an explanation. They fully refuse to help us, and we take the bike outside and call the warranty company in the parking lot. The lady from Asurion is shocked, and saying she's never heard of such a thing happening. She stated that they have already given us repair number, and given an okay for the bike to be fixed. She stated that the matter in which the bike was broken had nothing to do with anything, and that the tech just needed to assess the bike and then send them a report. We went back into the store with the lady from Asurion on the phone, and let Scott talk to her. Then after being told they didn't have a tech that could fix the bike (even though initially Scott stated he was the tech that was out the summer before) and after they said they wouldn't fix the bike, they now had a tech named Andy that would be in on Tuesday to take a look at it, and contact Asurion. However Scott, was like parts take a long time, and made it seem as if they were salty and would just stall everything to spite us, and we just really wanted to have the issue resolved. So we took the bike to Annapolis, and they didn't even care how the bike was broken, they just said we'll fix it. It could be about 2 weeks for the part and another week for the repair. Scott and CJ were rude and unprofessional. They fought us every step of the way, and even made up their own rules to impede us, when they couldn't justify anything with an actual policy. The guy from Annapolis said that they see broken derailers all of the time, and they even have a name for it, that's kind like an inside joke with the people in their department. Scott and CJ acted as if there has never ever been a broken derailer from the GT brand ever in life, and were insulted at the idea of it. Like these guys were fully invested in fighting us tooth and nail instead of giving us the service they we deserved. They went above and beyond to their duty to see that we would not have our bike serviced at their store (which is where we purchased the bike) and I can only assume that this strategy has worked for them in the past, because of how adamant and aggressive they were with my family and myself. In the end Scott had to eat humble pie as the lady from Asurion told him that they couldn't do what they were doing. They had made such a big deal about us getting the repair #, and then when we did they didn't even touch our bike.
