I was able to get a lock for my bike, which was my motive for going to the store. Gear selection is limited to make finding what you want easy. The shop is very spacious to keep the space feeling more like a hangout than a warehouse for merchandise. A lot of the brands are not distributed by any other brick and mortar shop in the area (Saint comes to mind), and all are high quality and stuff you would actually buy. There is also a selection of supplies, which is targeted for members if the motorcycle club. They stock 15-50 boxer oil which is hard to find to support the boxer owners that are members. This evolving support is part of what makes membership valuable. Which brings us to membership. Half of the space is a members only garage which is available by signing up for one of a few membership tiers. Dues vary with access: higher tiers cost more and give you more time to make use if the garage space, use the wide assortment of shop tools, and in a few cases give access to specialized machinery. Classes that are made available to the public are offered to members at a discounted rate. It's common for 2-3 different projects being worked on, and collaboration is natural. The DC moto scene is small but welcoming, and Dunn Lewis is definitely a good place to connect. They offer events and rides that are available for anyone, and it would be hard not to get involved with DC moto clubs like dirt church if you hang around the shop. Mason and Laurel who run the shop are always available for tips on what's happening around the city and are a huge part of what make DLMC worth supporting. There's also great food and bars on the same block. Worth mentioning. As far as what could be better: it's a new space and features are growing. So if it doesn't have everything you need, you might have to wait for them to bring it in. But you only need to make the suggestion and it's something you'll probably see in the future. All moto and scooter riders are welcome. More than worth a look.

I called and relay (interpreter) heard a rude guy, he said "I'm not going deal with him", obviously they aren't Deaf friendly. My community not pleased and they wouldn't doing a business with this store. I spoke with the HQ about this situation and they not pleased how the store treats me. The HQ referred me to other store which is more Deaf friendly. It's all good. So I wouldn't recommend this store.

I tried on tons of helmets and got great guidance on how to size. The staff is all very knowledgable and helpful and prices are competitive. My main complaint is that they go heavy on their private label and don't stick as much variety as I'd like in some categories. What it comes down to for me are the personal touches. The staff is just so friendly and eager to help. I never feel stupid or silly asking newbie questions like I do at other local shops. Also, since there is so much out there in the bike world, I'd call first to make sure they have what you want, especially if you have a drive to get to the shop. Unless you're going for clothes or helmets. They have a great selection of both. More niche and bike-specific gear might be a good idea to call ahead for. They'll also order things if you need!

We reserved a Harley for my buddy's bday quite a bit in advance. The bike we reserved was there. So that answered concern number one. We rode through the weekend and now my buddy regrets buying the bike he has and wishes he had a Harley - so obviously the bike was in great mechanical shape too. That was concern number two. Apparently, upon return, the office was closed and when my buddy called, the first person he talked to said the owner was on his way - that he just walks slow. After 10 minutes of waiting he called back and this time talked to the owner who said it was actually his day off and told my buddy how to handle the drop off (very easy). This is no slam on the owner - I suspect it was an honest mistake on the part of whoever first answered the phone. Overall the owner was really nice, the bike was available, in great shape and we had an absolutely awesome weekend with it. Would highly recommend!
