Fantastic from start to finish! Bike Werk's technician was SO responsive, knowledgeable, and excited (yes, excited!) to help. His direct and honest approach - no upselling here - was a refreshing difference from the 4 bike shops I'd called or stopped by. My racing bike and my hybrid bike are like brand new! read more

Bikewerks There are not enough stars for the above and beyond service of bikewerks. I bought my electric cargo bike - velotric through them and I have been very impressed by their service. Carl is always very attentive, flexible and accommodating. I had an issue with one of my breaks, Carl and Marti came on numerous times with no additional charge until they got to the bottom of it. The convenience of having them come to you is unbeatable. If you are thinking of buying a direct to consumer electric bike - do not look further and buy through bikewerks they will assemble for you and deal with any issues. I have also use their services for tuneup of my regular bike and it has been great. 11/10 read more

Marty was incredibly detailed, kind and knowledgeable as he helped me with my repair!

Bike Werks posted up in our parking lot here at the Promenade and Marty Pell hooked it up with his "Silver Package Service" that has made my bike hummmm like the day I bought it 16.5 years ago. Great guys. I was late to their eastern market stand on a Saturday. I had handling and breaking issues. They fixed both in a jiffy and told me to pay them next go around. I am going to pay them today although I don't have a repair to be made. They are now my official shop. read more

These guys were great. They came to me, tuned up the family bikes, and thought me about what they were doing and why. No rush, just did the work. Recommended. read more

Just had my bike tuned up and a tube replaced at my house by Bike Werks! Marty and Chad came to my house and did a fantastic tune-up, including replacing a bad tube and switching bike seats. Then they waited to have me test ride and re-adjusted the seat to a comfortable & safe height. Since my bike is from Germany, the built is different than American bikes they're used to, but they had no problem with it. Their price is very reasonable, esp. to conveniently come to my house to do the work. I'm very happy and highly recommend them! read more

Bike Werks - Marty from Bike Werks - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me

Like many others we bought bikes and decided to use them during the pandemic as a way to stay active and socially distant. Because of the amount of people needing their services we had to wait a while to get booked for them to come to us in Silver Spring - we didn't want to go to Olney with the bikes early on a weekend, but that is an option. Carl arrived just a few minutes early, set up his gear and got right to work. The bikes were new and we built them from the instructions we got with them. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things that you don't get from those booklets. Carl and the other guy with him took time to explain what they were doing, how to keep our bikes in good shape and how to always ensure our wheels are properly trued. This company is a GEM of a find. Like I said not only did they fix and tune up my bikes but showed me how to do it myself in the future. They are like the Santa Claus at Macy's on Miracle on 34th Street... read more

Can't recommend Bike Werks more highly. Carl responded promptly after I submitted an inquiry. He came out on a Sunday afternoon and did a thorough tune-up on two of my bikes, and then installed a conversion kit on another bike to make it an electric bike. So grateful I found this amazing company. read more

After my experience at the Olney "mobile" bike shop, I will never visit these folks again. Carl seems great - and I see that most of the reviews are for Carl here. But there was an older gentleman (I think his name is Marty?) who makes life hell for Carl and for all the Bike Werks customers. While two people worked on bikes, "Marty" stood around barking orders and complaining that he couldn't find things. It was obvious that he wanted his thumbprint on every project. I needed one simple part, which someone (not Marty) quickly grabbed for me. In the meantime, Marty was "helping" another customer. I was not allowed to pay for my part, because only Marty could take the money (cash!) so I waited. And waited. During the time that I waited, the other customer - who was also just trying to pay for something - stood there with her cash out while Marty typed and retyped things into an iPad - stopping every 30 seconds or so to bark more orders. I finally pulled out cash - $15 for a $10 part - and handed it to Carl, who was gracious enough to take it when he realized that Marty might never finish with the other customer. For all I know, Marty is still sitting there barking orders. (Note for Carl: get your OWN shop!) read more

Great job. Quickly easy and affordable. While my bike was easy to assemble, it was nice that I did not have to take time out of my day to do it. read more

What a great experience! Convenient, pleasant and beautiful work, and I didn't have to wrangle the bikes to the shop!

He was on time, he clearly knew his way around a bike, and my husband and I think maybe our bikes didn't shift this well when we bought them! We are very happy with Bike Werks. We got the Silver tuneup. The convenience of having him come here was really nice. We are distance road cyclists - we'll ride the Seagull Century in a few weeks. our bikes aren't fancy or even very new, but we cherish them and it makes a big difference if they roll well. read more

Outstanding work and fair pricing. Arrived right on time and fixed a few things I was unaware of. I will be using them for future repairs/upgrades going forward. Highly recommended. read more

Bike Werks is Great! Carl, the owner came to my house and got my new bike ready to ride. He is a very nice guy, works fast, and has very reasonable charges. This service sure beats dragging the bike into a shop and having to go back later and pick it up. I was very pleased with Bike Werks and will definitely use them again when my bike needs repair or a tuneup. read more

Extremely convenient and great service, I had them come out to give my bike a silver tune up, pricing was clear and they were great about walking me through the process and showing me potential issues. Took a bit under an hour start to finish including the time for them to set up their work area. read more

Bike werks has serviced my bikes several times. Appreciate that they come to my house. They fixed a flat on my electric bike last time and tuned my wife's bike. No complaints. read more

Carl was fantastic. $25 "house call" fee is extremely reasonable, especially given the time and effort to drop off and pick up a bike, especially in Montgomery County, MD. He re-bored my crank arm after I stripped the pedal out, adjusted my breaks, and re-routed the brake line (resolving a mistake I made when I did my DIY bike build). He came right to my house, was super friendly and professional. He set up shop in my front drive, and had my bike done in an hour. read more

I love the fact that this is a mobile bike repair shop. He wasn't able to come out for a couple weeks so he had it set up last week at a school and I was able to get both of my boys bikes repaired quick and reasonable read more

Carl of Bike Werks does excellent, professional work at reasonable prices. I had three bikes which had not been used for several years. These were older European bikes (Peugeot and Raleigh). He quickly put them into shape and they ride like they did when new. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

Fast, friendly, easy. I decided that my old Trek - neglected during Covid - needed a pretty major cleaning and overhaul. I filled in a web form on their website and got a call from Carl in less than two hours. He was able to come into the city (I'm in Foggy Bottom) the same afternoon. He had all his gear and set up in my building's visitor parking spot. 90 minutes later I had a brand new looking bike (he replaced a few parts and tuned up the rest). He sent me an invoice via email, I clicked the link, paid with my credit card, and he was out of there. Not cheap (though not crazy either) but fast, friendly and convenient. Would definitely recommend. read more

Very pleased with the response, service, and results provided by Carl. He came to my residence and put my 14 year old road bike back into perfect working order. Actually he made it work better than it did when I bought it new. He is very meticulous and detail oriented, so plan on him working on your bike for a while. If I could sum up my experience with Bike Werks in two words it would be "worth it." read more

Carl and Marty are really terrific. This is a great operation, and is incredibly user-friendly. THEY COME TO YOU ! As Covid World is evaporating, we found that our 3 bikes needed real tune-ups. The appointment was set-up and confirmed by Carl. Marty did a fantastic job. The bikes look brand new, and operate smoothly. It is a hassle-free, efficient, effective and quality service. Recommend highly. Try it out! read more

Cannot say enough what a great experience we've had with Bike Werks. Carl, Marty and Chad were all fantastic. The diagnosis of a relatively-new bike with derailleur issues as well as a very old bike we were looking to salvage was straightforward and transparent, as was the pricing. These guys truly care about bikes and biking - it is actually inspiring to have our bikes up and running and now feel like we know how to take care of them and what to do if there's an issue. Having Bike Werks come to our driveway was fantastic and convenient - the team showed up when they said they would and did what we expected. They are an asset to our community - we'll be back! read more

Outstanding experience!!!! Outstanding Service!!! I contacted Bike Werks to take a look at my 20+ year old bike which I haven't ridden in a few years. The tires were flat, the derailer made unusual noises, no idea if the brakes would work: it was showing neglect. Carl came to the house, assessed the condition, taught me a few things I didn't know about the special type of inner tube valve I have and took it to his shop. Carl called later that day to give me an estimate and the next day, I was riding my bike again and it is running great! Carl is very knowledgeable, friendly, very willing to share his knowledge and love of bikes and biking. You cannot go wrong entrusting your bike with him. I am excited to get out on my bike again this spring! Highest recommendation!!! read more

We had a 10 AM appointment and Carl arrived right on time. He had a good manner, explaining what he was fixing or tuning up and why he was doing it. Even with the convenience of Carl showing up at my house instead of me lugging my bike to get it tuned his prices were competitive. He brought all kinds of parts with him and was prepared right there and then. So easy- Bike Werks will be my go to for all things bikes. read more

I brought my mountain bike to the Olney Farmer's Market, where Carl had his Bike Werks tent setup. Carl dismantled my bike, cleaned and made repairs. After, I took the bike in the woods for a ten mile ride and it rode better then it ever had, even when it was new. Carl is an expert rider, but he's also an expert at repairing bikes! I highly recommend Bike Werks!!! read more
