Omar is amazing and this is an amazing service. He was prompt and on time, set up his stuff right outside my home and got to work. He was able to fix my brakes, my chain, oil and lubed the bike and even cleaned it up a bit. The value is unmatched and I didn't have to leave my bike at some expensive bike shop for days on end waiting for them to do some quick simple fixes. Omar is now my bike guy for sure. read more

Omar is who you want and need to fix your e-bike. So knowledgeable, dedicated and most importantly safety-conscious. He agreed to take on a repair for a used bike of mine knowing it could be difficult and time consuming. He didn't give up and took the extra time needed to ensure the bike functioned safe. Nomad Bicycle was great to work with! Omar came to my house right when he said he would, and tuned up my bike to perfection. He walked me through the maintenance that he performed as well as little things that I can do to help keep my bike running smoothly. Would highly recommend. read more

is this place still open? . At least when I last visited Years ago before pandemic , the staff were friendly. I'm sad to see this place is barely open. That makes it very inconvenient for dropping off / picking up repairs. read more

Omar was cool. Though he wasn't able to help me out due to scheduling (it is summer after all), he made sure I found someone who could. I definitely would keep Nomad front of mind in the future. read more

I purchased an eBike and Omar made the building of the bike painless. Since he lives about a 30 min walk from where I live, I worked out a plan with Omar to receive the bike and build it and I would walk down to pick it up when it was ready. This saved me the hassle of trying to store a boxed bike and coordinate a build time once it was delivered. This worked out great as the bike's delivery was delayed by a day. When I picked up my bike, Omar spent about 30 minutes going over the bike, final adjustments on the bike lock, rack and seat as well as explaining standard daily/weekly maintenance. I will be seeing Omar again for my 750 mile tune-up and highly recommend his services as a bike mechanic. read more

Nomad Bicycleworks - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me

High praise for Omar! I love the convenience of having the service come to my house. He responded to my reservation quickly and indulged in a text exchange over where exactly to build my new bike that was still in the box in advance of my service date. Day of, he was a few minutes late, but called to let me know. Omar was quick, efficient, and even let me tack on an extra job while he was there. Luckily it was a small one, putting pedals on a kids bike. Omar sent me out for a test drive, and gave me helpful insights on proper posture, how often I should air my tires etc. I would recommend Omar to anyone. If you want someone knowledgeable, friendly, patient and affordable (emphasis on affordable), Omar @Nomad is your guy. Looking forward to reaching out again when it's time for a tune up. read more

I've never had a bike repaired in my life, but mine had spent five years in a shed and needed some love. Omar came over and within an hour my bike was like new. He's friendly, fair, and I will definitely keep coming back. Omar should be your bike guy. You won't be disappointed. read more

Nomad Bicycleworks - Drip so hard - Bike Repair/Maintenance Near Me

Omar is awesome! I normally take my bike to a shop, but I got a flat tire that I didn't discover until I got home. I don't live anywhere near a bike shop and don't have a car, so I needed a solution that could come to me. I snapped the required pictures and emailed Omar, who responded almost instantaneously and quoted me a price by email. He came one hour later with all the tools he needed to fix the tire. He was fast, professional, and very kind. He also gave me some tips for how to avoid flats in the future. While working on my bike, he discovered a more significant problem. He gave me advice on what was wrong and how much a bike shop should charge to fix it that next time I go in. I am extremely pleased. Thank you Omar! read more

Omar is so great! I was nervous about taking my bike to a shop because I really didn't want to be upsold on a bunch of stuff I didn't really need, and in my research, found Nomad. The base rate seemed very reasonable, especially considering he'd come to me, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Omar showed up on time and stayed a little longer cause he had to totally rebuild my breaks, at which point I thought "here come the extra charges," but there were none! Omar is very knowledgable, honest and a super nice guy who takes a lot of pride in his work, and, most importantly, my bike rides better than it ever has. Would recommend Omar to anyone! read more

Omar was professional, prompt, and gave my bike a great and much needed tune up. He came to my house and worked outside, and he spent an hour and a half working on and cleaning up my bike. He explained everything to me effectively and I will definitely hire him again for my mountain bike tune up. Thanks, Omar! read more

Omar is fantastic. Out of his service area, type of bicycle, he patiently helped triage a weird sound on my Sunny stationary bicycle. Over FaceTime. On a Saturday morning. I could only imagine what he could do with a real bicycle, during the week, with his actual toolbox. read more

Omar was incredibly responsive and thorough. My bike's never been in better shape - he did a great job. I highly recommend him!

Thank you so much, Omar! I picked up a bike recently to have another mode of transportation in the COVID era (like I'm sure many of us have). I replaced a flat myself for the first time and I noticed something wrong with the way my wheel spun. I reached out to Omar and asked if he had a service option to check on my self repair since I wasn't 100% confident. I sent photos/videos of my bike via email and he identified the problem straightaway and within hours of me reaching out. If the 100% 5 star reviews weren't enough to convince you, reach out! I'll definitely be working with him on future tune ups and repairs. Thanks again!! read more

I called Nomad to assemble a bike I purchased online for my son. Omar came on time, did a thorough job, and explained everything I needed to know about maintenance. When my son got home and tried to ride the bike, the front tire went flat and Omar came right back away to take a look. It turned out that the tube had a tiny hole (no fault of his) and he replaced it, only charging me for a replacement tube. By the way, in addition to the convenience of having the work done at my home, Omar charged about half what bike stores charge to assemble the bike. My husband (who usually tries to do his own repairs) now wants me to call Omar back to fix his bike. read more

My 2013 Cannondale CAAD10 had a couple of years, a couple of moves, and a bunch of miles on it when I called Nomad last Friday. I'm a casual cyclist who can do the basics, but the bike was in need of an expert eye to quiet down some squeaks, true the wheels, and do anything else necessary to keep things functioning at peak form. Without the need for much guidance from me, Omar identified the trouble spots, got everything working properly, and did a great job of explaining what he did and what I should look out for as I put more miles on the bike going forward. I really appreciated his inclination to work with me and include me in the learning process, instead of delivering that bike shop sass we've all encountered at some point. The cherry on top was that he had me back on my bike within 24 hours, leaving me time to get in a couple long rides over the weekend. If you're after know-how, good prices and honesty, check out Nomad! read more

What a great service, highly recommended! Too bad there is only a maximum of 5 stars, as Nomad Bicycleworks deserves 10. Omar is fantastic--highly skilled, knowledgeable and super friendly--and his services are convenient and reasonably priced. He assembled my bike efficiently, and made sure everything was in working order. I will definitely use him again for any bike needs I have. He is miles above the services offered at the DC-area bike shops. Thanks Omar! read more

I wholeheartedly agree with all the five star reviews Omar has earned. Not only is he knowledgeable, skilled, and professional, he's a nice guy to boot. Omar clearly cared a great deal about the bike and my happiness with the tune up he provided. She's sparkling and running like a dream thanks to Omar! Highly, highly recommended. read more

Omar provides one-of-a-kind service to his customers. My biking life improved dramatically once I knew I could count on Omar to pick up, repair, and drop off my bike with a quick turnaround. (I used to dread having to drop it off at a shop.) The value is unbeatable, too. Omar is a very professional, talented, and lovely person. Nomad is the only choice in my book for DC bike repair. read more

Probably the best bike repair experience I could've asked for. Omar came on time even when I needed to readjust the time and he made it a very professional and straightforward experience. He fixed my craigslist bike within an hour and thoroughly explained all the issues w the bike in a fast and easy to understand manner. He even came to my house for the repair (which has a 30 day gaurantee to boot!). Lovely experience from a very professional bike maintenance business. Highly recommend, esp if you're not super familiar with bike maintenance. Can't thank you enough!!! read more

Omar is the real deal. A very friendly and knowledgeable fellow, he took his time on my bike and made sure it was 100% before letting me take it away. You can tell that Omar genuinely loves his job, and I'm happy that I have found his company. read more

I've just moved from CA and was looking for a place to repair my bike. I'm glad I found Omar on Yelp! He was great! Omar made the whole repair process easy and painless! He was incredibly responsive and was very helpful at every step of the way. He was very honest up front about the state of the bike and what would need to be done. I am a relatively inexperienced cyclist but I felt very confident after Omar explained what repairs were done. The turnaround time on the repair was unbelievable, everything was done the same day (despite it being a holiday!). I would highly recommend Omar at Nomad to anyone looking for a reliable, professional, and overall fantastic bike mechanic! read more

A++++! Look no further - Omar is the guy for you. He came to the house and spent almost two full hours going through every single part of my new bike, explaining and teaching me as he went along. Although I'm a casual bike rider, he never made me feel dumb or talked down to me, but answered all my questions while showing me exactly what he was talking about and giving me helpful tips along the way. His perfect reviews attest to what an incredible, friendly, and thorough service he provides. Will definitely be bringing my bike back for regular tune-ups. Important to mention these days - the entire process was very mindful of Covid-19; Omar wore a mask as he worked outside and payment was touch-free. The whole thing was handled incredibly professionally from start to finish. Thanks Omar! read more

Omar gave my bike a great tune-up and even delivered it to me when he was done. He was super responsive, courteous, and helped me think through a cost-benefit analysis of replacing some of the more expensive pieces on my bike. I would definitely recommend Omar for your bike repair needs! read more

So grateful this service is available--incredibly convenient and affordable. Omar was communicative, on time and his service and expertise was great. Highly recommend over any of these over-priced DC shops and the service comes to your doorstep! read more

TOP OF THE LINE. I don't write many reviews, but Nomad certainly deserved. First off, it's important to know that I was asking for an ENTIRE bike build, not just a tune up. My bike was literally completely disassembled in pieces. Instead of having to drag all of them to Nomad, the Team literally came to me and assembled the entire bike in my home....for only $85. You will not fine that kind of quality service or pricing anywhere else in D.C. Nomad....thank you!! read more

I was on a ride with Omar in New Jersey, when the chain on my Kestrel Talon snapped, leaving me stranded in the middle of no where Cape May. Luckily, Omar knew what he was doing and was able to turn my bike into a single speed and get to the closest bike shop and get a new chain installed. He also did the initial fit on my bike and has been working like a charm. The guy is great and the prices are seriously unbeatable! read more

Omar came on time (to my apartment!), was very thorough, and went above and beyond. Highly recommend

Had a great experience with Omar -- quick, professional, and got me up and running at a very reasonable price!
