I was excited to pick up my new bike, but I never received a call that it was ready, so I had to come in and check myself. I asked if I could take the bike as-is and have a mechanic assemble it elsewhere, but they refused and said it had to be assembled by them or I'd be responsible for any issues. Since assembly was included, I agreed to wait. At pickup, the experience got worse. The owner made fun of me for not getting clipless pedals for it. He said people will make fun of me having this bike with a flat pedal. I'm a beginner rider and not comfortable using clipless yet, especially since they require dedicated shoes.That kind of attitude was unnecessary and unprofessional. There was also confusion with my order. I had purchased additional items through Specialized, but the shop didn't seem aware and substituted some parts with their own inventory without clearly communicating it. During the fitting, the owner made a comment about me wearing Yeezy slides while adjusting my saddle height, which again felt unprofessional and disrespectful. Once I finally rode the bike, I started noticing multiple issues: The front wheel was not aligned properly The bar tape was installed incorrectly (wrapped backwards) The brake hoses were cut too short and routed too tightly around the stem Because of the brake hose issue, when I later changed handlebars, I had to pay extra for a new hose. These are basic assembly details that should have been done correctly the first time. When I brought these issues up, the shop dismissed my concerns and claimed I assembled the bike myself, which is not true. I gave them another chance with a second bike, but the result was similar. The drivetrain was so poorly set up that we initially thought something was broken. After multiple visits where they couldn't fix it, we ended up taking the bike to Trek another shop in Rockville, where it was resolved quickly with proper tuning. Overall, this shop showed a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and subpar assembly work (probably their new tech). I would not recommend them.

I ended up learning how to remove my rear wheel and install a new belt. However I had trouble reattaching the cable onto the internal gear. When Kevin started Terrapin Bicycles, he helped me a great deal with my Priority Current and getting a new motor for it. Years later, I remember his generosity. I called up the shop and nearing closing time, Brie, the bike mechanic said to come in and he'll help out. In 15 minutes, he'll got my bike in top shape. It's so important to find "your guy". Terrapin Bicycles is incredible in their service, knowledge, and relationship with the community. Thank the bike gods for them.

We rented a tandem bike from a known rental in DC; the bike was rickety and took effort even on the completely flat route we were on. My GF found Pedego and opted for the tandem electric bike. This was a 180 degree experience from the other rental company jn DC. The owner was friendly, attentive, enthusiastic and really made us feel welcome. He knows his bikes gave us a quick run down that made us feel comfortable. The bikes are impeccabley maintained and he's thought of everything including helmets, storage pouch, bike lock, flat tire kit etc. He was even extremely well versed on the route to Mt. Vernon. Every pointer he gave us was spot on. We made it to Mt. Vernon and enjoyed food, history, and culture. The way back was fun since the bike did all the work, electric is the way to go for tandem bike long hauls. I plan on coming back to buy some accessories for my own fat tire e-bikes. This was a memorable experience that was easy and affordable.

He helped us 'test drive' all three, in their safe parking lot, and we were able to make a quick decision. It was a breath of fresh air! He helped us understand the features and operation of the bike, and patiently answered ALL our questions quickly and direcly... Our bikes will arrive in a few days and we have complete confidence in our decision. We consider ourselves reasonably technically and mechanically competent, but having them assembled and tested by professionals before taking them on the road definitely provides a lot of peace of mind... Just the safety considerations alone are worth the price of admission... The additional benefit is they also provide a lot of other services for maintaining and servicing the bikes, which is also a BIG DEAL. I cannot imagine the stress, endless frustrating telephone conversations, and the hassle of trying to fix, or worst case, disassemble and return one of these things to some faceless organization! Bottom line is our bikes will arrive in a few days, and we are very relaxed about our decision. They will assemble and test our bikes and JAIME will give us a call when they are ready for pickup. They will load them onto our bike rack, ready for the nearest trail!! Very impressed with JAIME MUNOZ, and the business model in general. I highly recommend them.
