From start to finish, Sam was professional, efficient, and incredibly communicative. He kept me updated throughout the project, answered my many questions, and was always willing to take the time to discuss options with me. As someone who wanted to be intentional about every decision, I really appreciated that he helped me think through materials, finishes, and products to make sure they were the right fit for my home. I am absolutely in love with how everything turned out... especially my bathrooms, the kitchen backsplash, and the beautifully restored cabinetry. The transformation is amazing. Because this was an insurance claim, there were many moving pieces, and Sam worked seamlessly with my public adjuster and everyone involved in the process. Prior to working with Sam, I consulted with at least 7 other contractors and Sam was able to offer the most reasonable and seemingly honest cost, he had a waitlist, and I was willing to wait - I am glad that I did. I would absolutely recommend Sam to anyone looking for a contractor who is skilled, reliable and honest!

These were small jobs, but he treated them with the same care as a bigger project. No job is too small for him!! The work was done efficiently and cleanly, and his prices were very reasonable, basically what non-licensed contractors would charge. He let me buy all the materials myself and very kindly handled the bigger items like vent pipes for FREE. Sam's quote is just the labor, so you are not charged a markup on your quote for any material cost. There were a few surprises along the way, and he took care of the extra work without charging extra. He also demoed the kitchen tiles nicely and even did some extra paint work and tile grout for free. He makes sure the project will be done well! Sam is honest and practical. He suggested I wait to install a kitchen vent until a future renovation. I still went ahead with it, but it was nice to hear someone not trying to upsell me. I can trust Sam's opinion for the job and not worry that I am being exploited by my lack of home renovation knowledge. Communication was great, the quote was detailed, and he kept my home protected and clean during the work. It's been four months since the job was finished and everything is still perfect. Reliable, honest, and skilled...I'll definitely hire Sam again.

If he sees something he doesn't like or feels wasn't done correctly, he has no problem telling his crew to rip it out and redo it until it meets his standards. That level of attention to detail gave me a lot of confidence throughout the project. Another thing I really appreciated was how organized and respectful they were of the property. Every day when they finished work, they made sure everything was cleaned up and their tools were organized in one designated spot instead of being left scattered around the property. Not once did they leave the place a mess, which was very impressive considering how long the project lasted. The project took about eight months to complete. Like with any construction project of that size, we had a few misunderstandings along the way, but Eddie was always easy to get a hold of. He was very communicative and always took the time to answer questions and explain things when needed. Something else that I liked was that whenever Eddie had to step away from the project, he would leave one of his sons in charge on site. That made it easy to communicate with someone who was there and knew what was going on with the work while Eddie was away.

I ultimately decided to go with Potato Construction Inc., not only because of their competitive pricing but also because Sales Manager Patrick demonstrated his deep knowledge, provided a very comprehensive package detailing all the fees, and showed me comparable comps. The development of the ADU started in August, with Victor Liu stepped in as the project coordinator. He was knowledgeable and professional, and he was on top of everything. Throughout the entire project, he always responded promptly to any of my calls or texts, which was wonderful during the process to have someone so responsive. The best part is that Victor managed to pass all the city inspections on the first try, significantly reducing the overall timeframe of the project. I'm attaching photos of our place; it's so spacious and nice. It's amazing what Potato Inc. were able to do with the space. With the upcoming solar installation, I look forward to the property being finally completed within the next few weeks. Potato Construction Inc. worked quickly and performed quality work. I am impressed and am now recommending them to all my friends and clients. I'm really impressed with how our space turned out. I'd recommend Potato Construction Inc. to anyone looking for a contractor.

Always communicated clearly, made the process easy to understand, and really delivered high-quality work. Any time we had questions or concerns, he explained things well and gave us peace of mind. His pricing was also more than fair, and the timeline was reasonable. Both of our smaller bathroom wet areas were completed in about three weeks. We started with the guest bathroom first, and after seeing the quality of the work, we immediately asked him to move forward with the master bathroom too. I would highly recommend Leo and his team. We're super happy with the results and would definitely hire him again for future projects

However, since I did not have many options here I had to just pray and trust that Leo would not be a scammer like the rest. I took the risk and trusted in Leo to help me solve the problem that my restroom was dealing with and I can say that Leo really went above and beyond in every step of the way. Leo was able to diagnose the problem which turned out to be that the previous contractors never did hot mop in my shower which was causing for the water to come out from the bottom. Leos communication throughout the process was excellent, detailed, and he addressed every concern I had with a great attitude, and ensured everything was resolved to my satisfaction. It is clear that Leo takes great pride in his work. Leo is reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy, and I am so happy to have found a contractor I can depend on. I am excited to work with you again and will be scheduling my next project with you soon.

Martinez House Remodeling Outdoor Staircase Replacement…read more This is the second time we have used Joel for a home renovation, and both times the outcomes were outstanding. His process always started with a site visit, a thoughtful review of my needs, a budget analysis and a negotiation of cost saving opportunities. Joel prefers to do indoor remodeling, but he took on our outside job with enthusiasm, despite the terrible heat of late August. We wanted to repair some worn steps and loose rails on our staircase up to our garage, which admittedly had been neglected after a few paintings - it was almost 30 years old. After some discussion we decided to do a complete staircase replacement with pressure treated wood and select Trex composite square boards. The treads (steps) and stringers (side step supports) were fabricated with 3 1/2" finished thick on-ground pressure treated lumber (4" nominal thickness), the balusters were upgraded from 2 x 2" to 2 x 4" from the same wood, and the handrails were dense 2 x 6" Trex Transcend composite boards. Where a number of the old balusters and side rail structures were separated from their supports because of being connected by nails only, the entire new structure used decking screws, and the screwheads on the top of the handrails were plugged with matching composite plugs to be only visible by hunting for them. The old stairs were fairly secure, but the new staircase feels rock solid. Joel treated every cut wooden board end with copper-based preservative, and painted the exposed edges of composite boards with color matched paint. He also sealed some minor cracks with wood filler and did an extra preservative treatment layer on the thick stingers and treads. Joel finished the job with an extensive cleanup and washing of our concrete wall, which was much appreciated. Initially, the job was scheduled to take a bit more than a week. Despite losing a day because of a poor quality wood delivery and replacement. Joel and his team finished the job in 5 days, including on Saturday. Surprisingly, he was able to take down the old staircase and replace it with the basic supports and stairs on the first day, so we did not even lose one night of access to our garage and rear parking spot. I highly recommend Joel Martinez of Martinez House Remodeling for your next job. He might not be able to do all jobs, but if he can find a way to do it, you will not be disappointed. We will try to use him again.
