    Chips in drawers

Feel a bit mixed on this. I hired J&R a little over a year ago and everything seemed okay at first. Once we were in the midst of remodeling our kitchen communication dwindled, as we weren't informed when they would be there or what time. Leaving us a few days with unfinished work and the kitchen unusable. It was originally a 3-4 day job turned over a week. I was told be others that remodeling can sometimes be this way with contractors so it wasn't something I harped on. But since then I've had a few issues with their installation. One, the drawers top layer of paint started chipping early on. Also one of our single drawer knob was loose day one and still doesn't tighten as much as I screw it in. Which was frustrating but I tried to ignore it. Second, we had issues with the faucet installed. I remember when they left I asked them to tighten the faucet because it was wobbly and loose. They used some sort of glue. Shortly after it became loose again and we just dealt with it as is We got a leak and hired a plumber and we were informed our sink was not put in correctly and missing a plastic part to make the tubes airtight. He also tightened out loose faucet but said it will likely get loose again because the way they installed it blocks the other nut that keeps it secure. So there's no way for a wrench to reach the other side of it. I think I got a decent deal for this when it happened and I was informed that my floors may be damaged for installation which ended up happening as well. Overall, I'm pretty bummed with this but as this is my first remodeling project with my home, I suppose you live and learn but I wouldn't recommend.

I looked into quite a few contractors for a bathroom remodel and J&R was the best option and most competitive quote. I picked out and bought all the tile, vanity, toilet, fixtures, etc while they helped me to procure the shower door and tile trim. I couldn't pick up some of my heavier items in store and J&R very kindly helped me out with that. They were also very responsive throughout the whole remodeling process and responded quickly when I had any questions. I also appreciated when I had issues/changes with some aspects of the construction, they immediately moved to remove and fix it with no back-and-forth arguments that you expect out of some other contractors. J&R really valued your satisfaction as a customer and that made it so much less stressful when remodels and home construction can be very stressful situations. Overall, I love the final look of my bathroom and I think it looks amazing! I would definitely considering hiring J&R in the future if I need any more work done.

I had incurred water damage due to a slab leak in my condo. In looking for a contractor, Jay had stood out the most. He was very understanding of my situation and knowledgeable of how to navigate the insurance claim process. When it came to putting my kitchen and pantry together, Jay was very patient as we dove through all the fine details. Jay and his team had a lot of insights on what to add/change/keep based off personal experience and their construction portfolio. Additionally, he was available to reach even if he was busy at other job sites. I would highly recommend Jay and his team! I will be utilizing his services on future house renovations and repairs.

We recently had some work done at our place with the help of Jay and his team. From permits, design, to the actual construction, it was all done with the help of Jay and his team. Jay was easy to work with and was always available to answer any questions we had. He provided valuable suggestions, things we would not have thought about, and was very honest and upfront about everything. I would highly recommend Jay and his team! Thanks for the wonderful experience Jay! (And for all your hard work, we love the turn out!)

The team came out pretty much a week after we agreed to the numbers and my bathroom turned out better than I had expected. I havent remodel in a long time and was worried about contractors.

Love the shower glass and tiles

J&R helped me renovate my whole bathroom with layout change. They took care of design, permit, and material selection. I'm very happy how it turned out. They were patient answering all my questions, professional at what they do with a reasonable price! Highly recommend!

These were small jobs, but he treated them with the same care as a bigger project. No job is too small for him!! The work was done efficiently and cleanly, and his prices were very reasonable, basically what non-licensed contractors would charge. He let me buy all the materials myself and very kindly handled the bigger items like vent pipes for FREE. Sam's quote is just the labor, so you are not charged a markup on your quote for any material cost. There were a few surprises along the way, and he took care of the extra work without charging extra. He also demoed the kitchen tiles nicely and even did some extra paint work and tile grout for free. He makes sure the project will be done well! Sam is honest and practical. He suggested I wait to install a kitchen vent until a future renovation. I still went ahead with it, but it was nice to hear someone not trying to upsell me. I can trust Sam's opinion for the job and not worry that I am being exploited by my lack of home renovation knowledge. Communication was great, the quote was detailed, and he kept my home protected and clean during the work. It's been four months since the job was finished and everything is still perfect. I knew that whatever house project we worked on next, I was going to hire someone who could bring the quality we wanted. I first reached out to Zenith Builder about potential home projects and met with Zuriel in 2023. He was honest and gave his perspective on the different options we were considering. We ended up not going through with any projects at that time because everything was out of our budget and we needed to figure out what we wanted. Fast forward to this past April, we finally decided to remodel our garage. I didn't even hesitate and knew I wanted to hire Zenith. Zuriel came out again and talked through the details of the different options we were considering. Once we decided on the initial scope, they started and worked quickly. The project manager was really communicative and easy to work with. When we added scope in the middle of the project, Zuriel was transparent about the additional costs and even though we approved over text, he would still quickly put together the documentation to send over for approval. If you're looking for a stress-free experience in remodeling/construction, look no further because Zenith is your answer. After the experiences we had, Zenith is worth every penny. I will use them again when we do our next home renovation.

I took the risk and trusted in Leo to help me solve the problem that my restroom was dealing with and I can say that Leo really went above and beyond in every step of the way. Leo was able to diagnose the problem which turned out to be that the previous contractors never did hot mop in my shower which was causing for the water to come out from the bottom. Leos communication throughout the process was excellent, detailed, and he addressed every concern I had with a great attitude, and ensured everything was resolved to my satisfaction. If he sees something he doesn't like or feels wasn't done correctly, he has no problem telling his crew to rip it out and redo it until it meets his standards. That level of attention to detail gave me a lot of confidence throughout the project. Another thing I really appreciated was how organized and respectful they were of the property. Every day when they finished work, they made sure everything was cleaned up and their tools were organized in one designated spot instead of being left scattered around the property. Not once did they leave the place a mess, which was very impressive considering how long the project lasted. The project took about eight months to complete. Like with any construction project of that size, we had a few misunderstandings along the way, but Eddie was always easy to get a hold of. He was very communicative and always took the time to answer questions and explain things when needed. Something else that I liked was that whenever Eddie had to step away from the project, he would leave one of his sons in charge on site. That made it easy to communicate with someone who was there and knew what was going on with the work while Eddie was away.

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. We've interviewed a few home builders, checked out their work and reputation, and eventually decided to go with Gil, Oren, and the whole team of Go Home Builders. Working with the insurance was a pain, luckily Gil had experience working with Allstate insurance before, and he helped us a lot getting the money we needed to rebuild our home. The planning process took a bit longer than what we initially planned for. The county of LA took their sweet time approving our plans. Fortunately, after 2 sets of revisions we were fully approved. The construction wasn't bad at all, they had plenty of guys working on our home at the same time. The only time there was no work, was on inspection days. The finishes was one thing that was extremely important for us. My wife and I are detail oriented and wanted to make sure we're choosing the right company to do the finish work correctly. All I can say is that they exceeded my expectations. I had a rough vision in mind for fitting a lot into a relatively small space, but wanted to see the options rendered so I could better make the big layout and design decisions. Alexis was very patient and super helpful in mocking up each iteration until we locked in the final design. Once it was time to actually break ground, Gil, Oren, Uriel, and the rest of the team were really responsive and always available by text. Unlike previous contractors we've worked with, they usually gave us an idea of what was happening the next day/week and who to expect onsite. The first ~70% of the project went really smoothly and far exceeded my expectations. Demo, framing, rough plumbing, and electrical all largely went without a hitch. We ran into some problems towards the end around communication, timeline, and subcontractor oversight -- which led to more delays when someone punctured our new in-wall toilet tank and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We know every construction job runs into challenges so we weren't bent out of shape by it, and we did appreciate that GHB took full responsibility for fixing the issues. By and large we were really impressed by most of their subcontractors, especially the very professional and considerate plumbing, electrical, and tiling teams! After living with our new bathroom for a while now, we can definitely say it was worth the wait, and such a huge improvement over our previous dysfunctional layout. Thanks to GHB for their great service, amazing attitude, attention to detail, and for bringing the bright, colorful bathroom of my dreams to life!

The cost to patch it up didn't make sense financially, so I decided to get quotes to build an entirely new one. Got the usual four estimates from various construction companies. A couple of them went way over than what I had budgeted for, and the remaining two were neck-and-neck. I went with Coronado because their common-sense approach and presentation gave me a lot of confidence in working with them. Sergio, who drafted the estimate, actually presented a much better option than a wooden deck: a concrete patio. That made a lot more sense to me as I wouldn't have to worry too much about maintenance. He also worked up some renderings of what the finished product would look like, and that pretty much sold it for me (along with the very reasonable estimate). The whole project took a few weeks, from the demo of the old deck to the concrete pouring, and all throughout, Sergio made himself available to any questions or concerns that I had. Additionally, his business is family-run, so I got to meet his father, his brother, and some of his other relatives who came down to work on the project. They were all courteous, professional, and competent. There were some minor fixes (some being electrical) that adjusted the original estimate a bit, but those made sense to me and were quite reasonable as well. Finding an honest, hard-working, and reliable general contractor can be difficult. Make it easy for yourseld and give Coronado Construction a try!
