I hired Sam a few months ago to install a bathroom and kitchen exhaust fan and close up an unused vent, and I couldn't be happier. These were small jobs, but he treated them with the same care as a bigger project. No job is too small for him!! The work was done efficiently and cleanly, and his prices were very reasonable, basically what non-licensed contractors would charge. He let me buy all the materials myself and very kindly handled the bigger items like vent pipes for FREE. Sam's quote is just the labor, so you are not charged a markup on your quote for any material cost. There were a few surprises along the way, and he took care of the extra work without charging extra. He also demoed the kitchen tiles nicely and even did some extra paint work and tile grout for free. He makes sure the project will be done well! Sam is honest and practical. He suggested I wait to install a kitchen vent until a future renovation. I still went ahead with it, but it was nice to hear someone not trying to upsell me. I can trust Sam's opinion for the job and not worry that I am being exploited by my lack of home renovation knowledge. Communication was great, the quote was detailed, and he kept my home protected and clean during the work. It's been four months since the job was finished and everything is still perfect. He updated me on the status of everything and always picked up my call no matter how late at night. I gave Luc's Construction a call after reading through their positive reviews here on Yelp. Sam answered the phone right away and was a pleasure to talk to. It was immediately apparent that he was a cut above the prior (at least 10) contractors I'd spoken to. He was upfront about being unavailable to take on new projects for quite some time (a function of being a good contractor during these crazy times), but was more than willing to at least provide some advice/guidance to help us out. Sam set aside time in his busy schedule to come by the site, really understand the proposed scope, and provided a detailed, honest assessment of our wishlist. He talked about feasibility, whether he thought certain things were worthwhile to do or not, and other valuable tips to help us avoid being ripped off. While he's unlikely to be able to take on our project due to is pipeline, he's providing an estimate just so we have a reasonable bid to compare against. With that being said, Sam has been SO impressive that we may very well put our renovation plans on hold until we can get him on our job! Thanks again, Sam. I picked Sam Luc Construction just based on the solid reviews and happy customers. He responded to my call for an estimate very promptly and gave me a bid that was very reasonable. I let him know I was very picky about details and finish. House is a 1924 Spanish and I wanted to keep the original look with a modern upgrade. His workers had skills and I could find no mistakes. Sam promised that his guys would stay on the job and finish it - no bouncing around to other jobs. Sam and his team are friendly, courteous, and fast! We had two bathrooms and a portion of our hallway remodeled and repaired due to some water damage. Sam was able to come in same day, take some measurements, and by early evening he had a quote for me. Sam is also very fair by way of only quoting labor. All material costs are paid direct out of pocket. This way you know exactly what the costs are and you know Sam is not inflating the material cost to pad his labor. My husband and I were looking for a contractor to renovate our 1954 guest bathroom with 1980s sink and linoleum flooring. The bathroom was really dark and dingy. We found Sam here on Yelp - he came by to take a look, and gave us a reasonable estimate within a few days. We waited about 6 weeks for work to commence (during that time, we went to pick out all the material such as tiles, sink, toilet, etc.). I provided a drawing and also a printout of how I wanted the bathroom to look. The work took about 12 days. Sam and his team are professional, courteous, and really know their stuff. Sam also gave us some great suggestions. They had to remove all the tiles from the old shower, and also remove a wall to open it up. They also added supporting beams to the structure of the shower and installed mold and moisture-resistant cement backerboards throughout. The glass tiles we picked for the shower had some QA issues (fault of the manufacturer), and Sam and his team went through every box to pick out ones without scratches or chips. Because the tiles took longer than expected, they even worked over a weekend to get it done in time. We also had a minor issue with the frameless glass shower door, but Sam took care of it right away. Sam and his team also installed the retro-style porcelain flooring, baseboard, assembled the sink, mosaic tile backsplash, mirror, and painted the room. They always cleaned up at the end of the day, and because they are meticulous and pay attention to detail, their work is top-notch. We couldn't be happier with the results - everything looks so professionally done. We started with an old dingy bathroom and ended up with a clean, bright, and beautiful one that I envisioned. When my wife and I were fraustrated over our totally messed up tile floor in our kitchen by our previous contractor who promised us the world of possibilities with the floor tiles uneven all over the kitchen and family room, Sam came to our rescue. At first, we tried calling other contractors, but as most people would know, no contractor would want to pick up after another's mess(it is hard work and not worth the time or pay), Sam and his wonderful crew came and fixed everything from scratch within a week!
