This was an extremely stressful project, which I guess is the nature of construction projects. However I appreciated the transparency Eddie provided. There's no doubt the quality of the work is there, my Dad who has a builders license even said so. The process was not perfect but I'm thankful I went with this company. There were some inherent benefits with using this company: -Eddie responds to you in a timely manner -majority of the work is done in house except for fire sprinklers and solar -honored the price of the contract throughout material increases and my own personal delays -I looked up the license before starting the adu and they've been doing this for decades so they are legitimate and know the ins and outs read more

I cannot recommend American Dream Design highly enough. We are returning customers for a reason. Eddie always goes above and beyond, and we know we can completely trust him to do the job right. Most recently, we had a plumber quote us an astronomical $18,000 to run a new gas line for our pool heater. Their "solution" involved cutting into our brand-new concrete and completely ripping up our new backyard pavers, which made absolutely no sense to us. So, we called Eddie for a second opinion, and he immediately came up with a brilliant, alternative solution. By rerouting the gas line in a different direction, he found a way to do the job with minimal concrete cutting and saved our new pavers. Long story short, Eddie resolved the entire issue beautifully for a tiny fraction of the original $18k quote. He treats every issue as if it were happening at his own house, and that level of honesty, care, and ingenuity is incredibly rare in this industry. If you want someone who genuinely cares about your home and your budget, look no further! read more

hired Eddie to build an ADU for us, and overall him and his team did a great job. From the beginning, one thing that really stood out to me was that Eddie doesn't like to cut corners. If he sees something he doesn't like or feels wasn't done correctly, he has no problem telling his crew to rip it out and redo it until it meets his standards. That level of attention to detail gave me a lot of confidence throughout the project. Another thing I really appreciated was how organized and respectful they were of the property. Every day when they finished work, they made sure everything was cleaned up and their tools were organized in one designated spot instead of being left scattered around the property. Not once did they leave the place a mess, which was very impressive considering how long the project lasted. The project took about eight months to complete. Like with any construction project of that size, we had a few misunderstandings along the way, but Eddie was always easy to get a hold of. He was very communicative and always took the time to answer questions and explain things when needed. Something else that I liked was that whenever Eddie had to step away from the project, he would leave one of his sons in charge on site. That made it easy to communicate with someone who was there and knew what was going on with the work while Eddie was away. read more

~2 years after the addition was completed we had a water intrusion issue from the roof from a rain storm. Eddie came out with his roofers to check on the cause, which was eventually found to be a fault in how the dormer vent was manufactured (not workmanship related). Eddie stood by his product and had his roofers replace the faulty vent with new ones of a different design within a week. Very happy that Eddie stood by his product, it says a lot about the quality of business he runs. read more

Working with Eddie and his team at American Dream Design and Construction on our home renovation has been an absolute delight. Our house, built in 1938 in Alhambra, needed a lot of work to meet today's building codes. Eddie, along with his sons who are integral to this family-run business, handled every challenge with outstanding professionalism and dedication. What impressed us the most was their commitment to not just doing the job, but doing it right. They managed to perfectly balance our design ideas with the realities of a modern renovation, staying within budget without compromising on quality. They always looked for the best solutions that would deliver the most value to us. They also offer a one-year warranty on their work, which really shows how confident they are in their craftsmanship and their commitment to customer satisfaction long after the job is done. A small note for future clients--because they are quite popular and busy, sometimes there can be a little delay in follow-up communications. Just a heads-up that they might need a gentle reminder now and then. But don't worry, once you get their attention, they're on top of it. I'd recommend American Dream Design and Construction to anyone. If you're planning a major renovation, especially in an older home, you can't go wrong with Eddie and his sons. They're true professionals who will treat your project with the care it deserves. read more

We recently had our home remodel by American Dream Design & Construction and are very happy with how it turned out. We had a bad experience with another contractor and were very skeptical about the industry as a whole. After getting several quotes, we decided to go with ADD&C. From the start, Eddie kept our minds at ease and reassured us that everything was going to be fine. ADD&C took our plans and turned our visions into a reality. With ADD&C you will not get a generic KB home, instead you will be getting a custom built one! Their attention to detail and craftsmanship are second to none. This was evident when they worked on the bathrooms. When waterproofing you shower, most contractors will hot mop it, but with ADD&C they used the Schluter system (a more modern advanced and effective method). They use laser to ensure all the tiles lined up perfectly. Our dry walls has a level 5 finish, the highest quality, smoothest and most uniform finish. It was a pleasure to with Eddie and Joe (the foreman). They kept us informed throughout the whole process. We love our home! Thank you ADD&C. read more

American Dream Design & Construction transformed my house from an uninhabitable mess to a beautiful home. Really. After Eddie and his team finished work on my 1957 mid century modern home in Ladera, everyone who toured the house or saw the staging photos commented on how fabulous it looked. ADDC's communication was good, straightforward, and honest. They stayed within budget and kept to their schedule. They did what they said they were going to do, and were open to different ideas. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, I sold my house for a fair price and made a good profit. I will always be grateful to ADDC for helping me realize my investment dreams. Highly recommended. read more

Eddie is hands down the best contractor we've ever worked with. I am a self taught property investor, owner and property manager. I have had so many projects with various contracts over the years. Eddie gave me a great price to redo my entire kitchen. Durning the project he was extremely responsive and prompt. He delivered on time with zero issues. The timing of a project is always something I expect to be off but he actually delivered. His team was professional and the quality of work is amazing. My kitchen is so beautiful and he also designed it so I could maximize the space and get a lazy susan in the corner which I am now obsessed with. There is a very keen attention to detail that really impressed me. I highly highly recommend. read more

I can't say enough about Eddie Sr. and Eddie Jr. of American Dream Design and Construction! My husband and I spent over 6 months looking for someone to construct a room addition. We were fed up with the lack of professionalism experienced when interacting with contractors, until we met Eddie Sr. and Jr. They were a breath of fresh air. They say what they mean and they mean what they say. On top of all of that, their craftsmanship is impeccable. The addition looks like it has always been a part of the existing house. Additionally, their prices are fair. They are like a one stop shop in construction. They can design, construct, frame, drywall, electrical, plumbing, etc. They can do it all. No job is too big or too small. If you are looking for reliability, professionalism, and quality all rolled into one, call American Dream Design Construction. We will definitely be connecting with them for additional upgrades to our home! Pictures of the process and finish prosperity cut will be added. read more

Finding a contractor who provides quality workmanship in a timely manner at a reasonable cost is a real struggle in LA, but after working with American Dream Design & Construction, we're happy that we've finally found a company which delivers on all three. From the moment we met Eddie to discuss reconverting part of our property back into a garage, we felt at ease with his knowledge of what it would entail and his straightforward assessment of potential costs we might incur if certain things needed to be added after we opened up the walls. Even with these caveats, Eddie provided a fair estimate for the work. Every step of the way, from demo to completion, he kept us updated on the progress. He made sure we were aware of any potential issues, which were minimal. The garage looks great, and working with Eddie was the least stressful construction project we've undergone in LA. It's really a testament to Eddie, his excellent crew, and the fact that his company operates with integrity. We will definitely be utilizing his company again for future projects. read more

American dream does superb work, and I am more than satisfied with the quality of their work, and I would use their services again!

In March of 2019 we decided we needed more space and wanted to add a master bedroom and bathroom to our current home. We interviewed a lot of contractors until it came down to Eddie and American Dream Design and another company. Both companies provided a quote for the same exact thing, and we decided to go with the other person for a cheaper price. Our reasoning being maybe we would have some money left over to do some things to our backyard and tackle two projects at once. Boy were we wrong! From June to December of 2019 we finalized plans and went through the rigorous approval process of the City of Whittier. In January of 2020 the construction began on the new edition, everything seemed to be moving along smoothly until weeks would go by without progress and things were not looking right. We came to find out some of the calculations that the engineer put together were wrong. February was very cold and rainy. The contractor decided to open the existing exterior wall to the new addition without finishing the outside of the new addition. He left us with leaks everywhere, we had every bowl and bucket catching all the water. Not to mention our entire house was freezing and we have a three year old son. The contractors response was that construction is messy and we should have anticipated this. We were at a loss, I couldn't go another day like this so I contacted Eddie and American Dream Design. He came over the SAME day! Eddie came over took a close look at the work that had already been done and pointed out a lot of errors/short cuts the contractor had taken so far. We came to a reasonable agreement on the price and his crew showed up first thing Monday morning. In the first week of his team being at our house, we saw more progress than the previous month. Their workers are extremely clean and respectful. Little did we know 2020 was going to bring us some pretty interesting twists and turns, as COVID-19 regulations and Shelter In Place rules were brought upon us. Thankfully Eddie was one step ahead and he had already contacted the city and the inspector to get approval to do virtual inspections so our project could keep moving forward. Our entire project stayed true to the timeline even during the Pandemic. Communication was outstanding during the entire process. Open communication is key through a project of this size and we were always on the same page. American Dream Design is a family owned business and Eddie works alongside his two sons, Eddie and Joe. Eddie has passed down 30+ years of knowledge and craftsmanship to both of his sons who worked extremely hard to make our project perfect. I will be forever indebted to them for coming in and working so quickly to make a safe living environment for our family. Thank you for all your hard work! We hope to tackle another project again soon. read more

After 35 years of living with the same kitchen it was time for an upgrade. My daughter referred me after the great experience she had with American Dream Design. Eddie and his son came and took a look at the existing kitchen and was able to see more potential than I could have ever imagined. My dream was to create an open concept kitchen/living room space but that required taking down four structural walls and rerouting plumbing and gas lines. While this was very overwhelming for me, Eddie was confident that it could be done and reassured me that it would look great. After discussing some potential layouts Eddie went home and created some 3D design options for me to review. We stayed in close communication about what I wanted changed until it was perfect and I was ready to move forward. I sent him a lot of Pinterest pictures of the style that I wanted so he could get an idea of the materials I wanted to use. He nailed it! With the layout that we decided on for the kitchen we had to close the door to our current washroom so we decided to relocate the washer and dryer and turn the old wash room into a walk-in closet. Joe, one of Eddie's sons, takes extreme pride in his work and built all the kitchen cabinets. I am so grateful for his attention to detail with the cabinets, any piece that he saw was damaged or nicked he sent back. We ran into a little problem with the stackable washer and dryer being a little taller than we expected for the new space so Joe created a custom door and frame to accommodate the height. Joe also custom fitted the shelving in the new walk-in closet. I really appreciated Eddie's feedback and input on the appliances I choose because his details made a world of difference. For example he suggested we go with a counter depth refrigerator so it wouldn't stick out too far from the cabinets and create a big gap. He also suggested getting a 36" stove since I have a big family and we are always cooking. After everything was in I was so grateful for those little details because they make a word of difference. I have already referred American Dream Design to a few friends and family because I had such a great experience. Eddie and his sons are great and their team is so respectful and clean. Thank you for everything, I love my kitchen! read more

This company is absolutely outstanding. It is family run, owned and operated. They are extremely knowledgeable, professional, time efficient, honest, reliable and kind people. Not to mention, they do great work. We just moved into a new house that needed to be both inspected before buying and also it needed some work afterwards. Eddy, the owner even came to our house inspection with us to be here and listen as they did the inspection and give feedback. We walked through and made a list of all of our wants and needs, and he had the work done here in less than two weeks. Everything we asked for and more. We have lived in our home for 20 years and have been wanting to re-do our "1970-80" kitchen for quite a few years. We did a lot of research beforehand, met with a few different contractors, and spent many hours saving ideas on Pinterest for our "Dream Kitchen". We first met with Eddie and his son Eddie (or as we came to call them in our family...The Eddie's), in October of 2019. They were so personable and even took us to go look at a project they were just finishing up. We loved their work and were very interested in having them do our kitchen remodel. Though the timing wasn't right for us, after this preliminary meeting, we knew would definitely want to go with them when we were ready to start this project. So this last June we were able to have American Dream Design start our kitchen project. As you can see in the before and after pictures, we went with an Open Concept Plan. For this reason, we wanted our adjoining rooms and hallway floors to match, so they also redid our floors in the dining room, living room, hallways, and two bedrooms. Throughout the planning process, we met with both Eddie's a few times and communicated with them via phone, email and texting. We went back and forth to make changes, suggestions, and adjustments. They were so patient with all of our questions and requests. They communicated in a very timely and kind manner. They were very flexible with our changes and understood our need to be able to stay within a certain budget. We really appreciated this; which all happened before they even started to demo or do any actual work on our kitchen. Through each step of our remodel, they were upfront and honest with us. We were excited to get going of course and they understood that; but they would not start the demo part until they were certain they had our cabinets in stock because they wanted us to be without a kitchen for the shortest amount of time possible! They are prepared and do not over-commit themselves, because they care about their customers. They are knowledgeable and give great advice and wonderful suggestions from all of their prior experience! They have such a humble and kind attitude. They take ownership of their work and want to give their customers peace of mind by backing up their work. We did not have long periods of time, days or weeks, etc. when they did not show up or come work. Joe is their structure, electrical, cabinet, backsplash specialist, and much more! He literally was at our house 8 hours a day throughout our remodel. They are efficient planners and everything is always communicated clearly and effectively via contract. Throughout our home project, we made additions to our original contract and the Eddie's always made sure to give us an updated contract to sign that spelled everything out clearly so we were all on the same page. It was so nice to be able to know we could contact them anytime and get a very timely reply! We cannot say enough good things about American Dream Design and would definitely recommend them to you. These guys are trustworthy and know their stuff! Check out the pictures of our newly remodeled up to date kitchen that they built for us! We just love it! Wish all of you the best on your future home projects! read more

Eddie turned a nightmare into a dream!! This was my first renovation project as a homeowner. I was 9 months in with an architect trying to get plans and revisions approved by the city when he was referred to me by a family friend. I was in constant contact with the city because I had essentially become a middle man between my architect and the city trying to hurry the process along. Once American Dream entered the picture all of my contact with the city ceased and within one month of meeting Eddie and his team, new plans were drawn up (my architect wouldn't release his plans) approved and renovation construction was under way - this would have been quicker but the city was slow in their end of the process. American dream design handled permits, inspection scheduling, and anything else the city's building and safety personnel required expeditiously. Eddie and his team were professional, efficient, and accommodating as we wanted to make several last minute changes to the plan. After knocking down walls (open concept), replacing floors, installing HVAC, new windows, renovating the entire kitchen, bathrooms, dining area, customizing a recessed wall in the living room with a fireplace, exterior stucco, relocation of front door, and even extended the front porch. There isn't one surface/room in the house that wasn't touched. Calling this a renovation does not do it justice, everything from the subfloors, plumbing, to the vents in the attic were touched - it is closer to new construction. Eddie delivered on his word (which I value more than anything) and provided several options when issues did pop up during construction. Also, his team was very punctual with daily arrival time, and oftentimes went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied. Needless to say, our house has been the talk of the neighborhood, it's been a couple of months since work has finished and I still get compliments from the neighbors as they walk past my house!! If you've hit a snag in your reno process CALL Eddie! If you aren't sure of your design CALL Eddie! If you have questions about what can be done CALL Eddie! You want great quality of work CALL Eddie! I heard plenty of renovation horror stories American Dream & Design assured me that they would not be one of them and THEY KEPT THEIR WORD!! Great group of workers but also great human beings! Can't say enough good things about them and I would (and have) refer to anyone doing work on their house. read more
