This review is going to mainly be about the smoothies and food. First off the store is well stocked. They have quite a wide variety of organic and vegan options. Which is great. I was more interested in the prepared foods they had and the drinks at their cafe. We ordered I think this huge German pancake, a frittata, and an avocado and egg quesadilla. Sorry forgot to take pictures of the foods. We also got 2 smoothies. The Hailey Bieber strawberry glaze skin smoothie and the vanilla matcha smoothie (swapped the oat milk for hemp). The food and drinks were delicious. Price is a bit steep for the smoothies but if you account for what's in it then you'll know why. Some may disagree. I will absolutely come back and try out the other items they have. There is also out door seatings. read more

Erewhon in Pasadena is less of a grocery store and more of a hipster wonderland disguised as one. The store itself is absolutely beautiful, with perfectly arranged produce, sleek design, and shelves full of items that make you wonder if you've been shopping wrong your whole life. Yes, the prices are wild. Yes, I still give it five stars. Not for practical grocery shopping, but for the experience. It is perfect for people watching, spotting smoothies that cost more than dinner, and discovering products you never knew existed. So I finally got to check out Erewhon in Pasadena while I was out here for some lunch! Parking next to this place was terrible first of all. When I walked in, everything seemed pretty clean and organized. Items in the store were over-priced but the presentation of them were good. The food court area inside looked fresh as well. It's a bit crazy to be spending around $20 for a drink, but when visiting the area one has to spot and indulge in buying this drink, especially when you don't have one it in your own area. Very trendy place, but I will admit that the Hailey Bieber drink tastes amazing. I'm sure many can probably make in their own home, but for people like me who like to experience these little outings, it was worth it for me. They're ready to order meals look pretty good and the presentation is well done, so I'll try that next time. My son said that the D'Angelo drink was just ok. Do I recommend it? Melanie- It's obvious based on my experience why she is the store manager, she helped me save time and find exactly what I was looking for, she really made my search for Pecanmilk and Ezekiel cereal super simple, she was extremely professional and on point with checking for customer satisfaction. There was an african american lady I don't know her name in the tester section of the oils, my gosh I dont even have words for her, she was extremely helpful, and made me feel comfortable to test product, I wish I got her name but she was by the test oils, she was awesome and very helpful. Justina was checking something on the shelf and stopped to make sure I was ok, I needed help with tartar sauce and hse made it a super simple process but went above and beyond going to the back herself and getting it for me. There's free parking in a parking structure off Lake Ave that is shared with other businesses and it can get crowded but parking isn't too hard to find. After walking out of the parking lot there is outdoor seating for people eating at Erewhon and then the entrance where you see cashiers in a different formation than typical grocery stores. It's more of an open concept if you will in a square. They are organized by produce on the left and pantry items to the left. Freezer and fridge items like the walls to the left as well. Prices seem to be around 30 percent higher for the same products you can buy elsewhere but they have some niche healthier products as well. The brand is so well built up that their generic Erewhon products actually are a hefty price as well versus being cheaper. It's such a cool thing? I wanted to try to see the hype and ate a meal at Erewhon. Why did it seem like every time I went people are eating and waiting for food. Their food section is busy! I got a veggie meal which consists of choosing any 3 veggie items or salads for 20 dollars a pound. Meat meals have higher price points and you pick that meat and 2 sides. I also tried a slice of pizza which was around 8 dollars. They had pizza samples which was nice. I think the food is a hit or miss. My pizza slice was a mushroom pizza that tasted pretty average to me. Not like a greasy pizza chain, but it tasted like an artisan pizza slice that was decent. It wasn't mind blowing. However the cheese pizza samples though were better...maybe I should get a cheese slice next time. The tomato sauce was yum. My meal had buffalo cauliflower which was something I'd get again. It was crispy, had good buffalo flavor. The size of the florets were good. I also got a kelp noodle salad which was also delicious. Kelp noodles aren't readily found to buy other places so these two times I can't easily make at home and they tasted pretty good. My last time was rice meatballs with some tangy sauce over it. That was a let down. If you like a strong herb flavor of thyme or oregano then maybe you'll like it. The texture inside the fried ball was pretty much chewy rice. The person who made my plate made it so it was pretty much 1 lb but my friend's helped loaded her plate and stuffed the box. She didn't realize it was the price per lb so her meal was almost 30 dollars. Also some other sides seem pretty standard sides I probably wouldn't want to pay that price for... I even surprised myself but I would honestly come back for a meal. Especially given that some burgers these days cost 15 dollars before even getting a side, my 20 dollar meal was filling and more palpable with that comparison. I'd just be careful to choose more unique items. read more

One of my favourite grocery stores ... if there was only one I would shop here all the time. It's really aesthetically pleasing and so beautiful when you walk in the door. They have amazing options of produce, dairy, meats and lots of specialty items that you can only find at Erewhon. I love their juice / smoothie section .. they are pricey... but so good each smoothie is amazing and loaded with great ingredients. And their hot food section is out of this world, great section of organic ingredients and locally sourced. And their service is always nice and friendly. The staff is helpful and very knowledgable. I was visiting SoCal and took a walk in the neighborhood. When I saw Erewhon, I had to stop out of curiousity. It's pricey but pretty. I was visiting around 7:30 am, so it wasn't crowded and it's nice to have store to myself. If you notice the plaque in front, this was a former I Magnin store (old school). I have visited the one in Studio City which appears to have a larger footprint than the one in Pasadena. Instead of getting a smoothie (which they are known for), I ended up getting a pricey grab and go juice. I will admit that tasted much better and probably better for me. Courteous staff at checkout, that was fairly easy and not a wait first thing in the morning. I admit that sometimes it's good to price compare the supplement section. I missed out on my favorite Omega 3's at the the other location and it was no longer available in Pasadena. You have to do your homework on deals before going out and making an impulse buy. On this visit, I didn't see any decent deals or anything that screamed "buy me" except for my juice in a pretty glass bottle. read more

Much smaller compared to some of the others, don't really shop here but once in a while they have good deals, I know is hard to believe. Found my probiotics on sale here today for at much lower price than Sprouts, so that was a win. Limited parking on the streets paid a dollar for one hour - they have time limits on Saturdays, that sucked, but a dollar is not bad, I did see covered parking near by as well tho, unsure if there's a fee. It occupies a section of the former I. Magnin & Co building, which was designed by architect H.C. Chambers. The layout is nice, and everything is well organized, which makes it easy to navigate. They also have an outdoor seating area so you can sit and enjoy your pre-made food or beverage. This high-end organic market has its loyal customers. The moment I stepped in, I was surrounded by a sea of Lululemon-clad influencers, sipping $25 smoothies like it was their life source. Parking lot gets full quick! I managed to slip in one got pretty lucky, some people were circling you could tell, there is more space just down the street, pasadena has the space which is nice. I have to say this is probably the nicest erewhon compared to the Grove, Silverlake, maybe because its newer? The layout is similar but I'm sure its the people who made is more pleasurable. You don't feel rushed or anything. We are usually pretty quick about it, try a few things and we're in and out of the hot bar quick. The seating is very nice especially on a nice sunday. People are in the front enjoying the sun and delicious healthy food! There is also an MRI scan business in the basement of this location! I checked this location out earlier in the month when they had a wellness fair going on. The vendors were all super interesting. The location is nice, there is an outdoor area where you can eat as well. The prices are high, this wouldn't be a place I would recommend getting regular groceries from to save money. But for specialty needs, such as certain dietary needs, guaranteed organic/fresh foods, and some great wellness finds that make life a lot easier and efficient, this is a great store to find just what you may have been looking for. read more

There are lots of online ordering options so not waiting in line for a while. And there's also a lot of delivery service apps where you can order items here as well . The team member here are all really nice and hospitable The parking was actually not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be a parking on the first floor. In the past, even before Erewhon was open it was always kind of dicey to find a good spot on the first floor. There is a one hour limit these spots so maybe that is what gets these parking spots available. There's an outdoor dining area right side of the main doors were a lot of people are enjoying their time and enjoying their food and drinks. I came here to try their infamous smoothies that they have collabs with celebrities and influencers. Even though their most famous smoothie is Hailey Bieber's Strawberry smoothie, I opted for Kendall Jenner's Peaches and Cream ($23). This item is limited, so it isn't on the menu. I like how their smoothie bar gives you a text when your smoothie is ready so it avoids a ton of congestion in the area from people waiting. My smoothie was ready quite fast as well (I had to wait so long at the Grove location). The scandi summer blueberry cobbler smoothie (collab with Elsa Hosk) was even better than the Hailey Bieber one -- it had an amazing topping of graham crust and coconut whip. It tasted like a delicious dessert smoothie bowl! Highly recommend while it's still around. Spacious aisles, clean interior, lots of outdoor seating and mists which is great on a hot day. They have a section in the back where they have cooked food that you can select and purchase. The store isn't super huge and has plenty of isles where you can purchase eggs, butter, drinks, stuff for the house, and much more. I love their pizza slices here which is I believe $8.00 a slice but it does taste really good! You can also eat your food outside right after you pay for your items.
