I was in Pasadena and wanted a quick, healthy bite to eat so decided to check out the Erewhon. This store is moderately sized, super organized (they make their produce look like a neat rainbow), and had its own parking structure in the back which was a plus. I went directly to check out all their food, passing by their delectable sushi section, soups, cafe, and ended up deciding on their hot food plates. The woman who helped me was super nice and patient helping me decide what to get and answering all my questions. Service was very friendly which helped me get over my intimidation of being in this fancy grocery store. I got a combo plate (one protein plus two sides), an additional side order, and a little dessert. I tried: - Regular ahi tuna poke: for my main protein I picked the poke since it looked super fresh and healthy. This was very good! They served me a generous amount of tuna chunks that were all so lean, and cut into the perfect cubes. The poke was so well marinated, it had a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and tangy. The green onions and sesame seeds added a nice texture and bold flavor. Very good! Did not get it with rice but that was an option. - Buffalo cauliflower: 1st side of combo plate- I had to try this since it's so hyped up on the internet. Overall, it was pretty good! The tempura crust is so thin and envelops the perfectly chunky cauliflower stalks. They have a nice spicy kick from the buffalo sauce. I can see why these would be so widely craved by people since they are well prepared. However, since I'm not the biggest fan of buffalo flavored things, it made me wish it had a different sauce. - Kale and white bean salad: 2nd side of combo plate- this was also pretty good and fresh! I loved how soft the kale was, and how the dressing was just a little bit sweet with a hint of citrus. The white beans added a nice earthy taste and the pumpkin seeds added a really nice crunch. I want to find a copycat recipe to make this at home since it was so good! - Black pepper kelp noodles (separate side): I wanted to try another side since they had soo many that intrigued me. I ended up buying an additional container with this very nice kelp noodle salad. Based on the name I was imagining a cacio e pepe flavor but it ended up not being as pepper heavy as I expected and it mostly tasted like nutritional yeast and cashews. I still enjoyed the sauce with the very chewy yet light noodles! However, these were a little salty for my taste. - Erewhon dark chocolate almond butter cups: I wanted to get a small healthy thing for dessert so I got one of the Erewhon brand chocolate nut butter cups. The dark chocolate was soo good and was sweetened with coconut sugar which made it feel slightly healthier. The almond butter filling was so rich, creamy, and not dry at all (as I find happens a lot with the other brands of chocolate cups). I only ate one but I am excited to eat the second one in the packet! Overall, this is a beautiful grocery store that is well organized and it's like produce/healthy products heaven. Service is nice but the items definitely come with a hefty price tag which I am not sure is justified. I would come here as a treat to self once in a while but it would definitely not be my regular grocery store. They do have a very impressive selection of premade salads and hot food items but I don't think it is anything you could not do at home if you wanted to and make it just as healthy. The aisles are just so perfect here. Labels places directly forward, produce aligned in the same position, all very bright colors. This location is directly across from the fitness studio I go to so I stop in for their hot food or smoothies from time to time when I want to treat myself. I ordered the Rose smoothie which is a homage to Pasadena with the Tournament of Roses/Rose Parade. It was fruity and creamy but not something I would crave regularly. The outdoor seating is really nice and the wifi is strong there if you're looking to work remote and get some Vitamin D. read more

I love Erewhon for their aesthetics and (mostly) clean food choices! It is really expensive though, so I definitely don't come here as a frequent shopper but it is a nice store to browse around. I've tried several of their smoothies before and have enjoyed them. When I heard about the Peaches and Cream smoothie, I wanted to try it out. I would give it a 3.5/5 star on taste. The smoothie had a chalky aftertaste and I couldn't really taste the peach flavor. It was $23 which is one of the more expensive smoothies too, so I was expecting to love it but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite and I probably will not get it again. But I do have to say, the strawberry glaze smoothie is actually really good and is definitely worth a try. Overall I enjoy Erewhon as an elevated grocery store to check out if I'm needing something specific that I can't get at my local food store (ie sea moss or smoothies). They pride themselves in only sourcing quality products but some of the products I see on the shelf aren't necessarily "healthy" in my opinion. So while most things are good for you, I still find myself reading the labels on their products to make sure it's actually good for me. read more

Since we have nothing planned for the day, we decided to check out Erewhon and try their smoothie. Ordered online as the line to place order is quite long. There are a LOT of workers behind the counter. They are making smoothies non-stop. We waited for a while and they still haven't called our name?? DS decided to walk up and check on it. The lady looked and gave us our drink immediately. He said there are at least 6-7 drinks just sitting under the counter. Not sure why the lady doesn't call out these name at all?? So if you are waiting for your drink, you should ask. Otherwise, you'll be waiting for eternity. The Hailey Bieber drink looks very pretty and also surprisingly tasty. We enjoy it a lot. But is it worth $19 + tips? I don't think so. Would I try it once? Absolutely. This store is not very big. It's similar to Whole Foods. Pricing is not as outrageous as shown on social media. It's got a lot of banana and strawberry flavors to it and a bunch of other stuff that is supposed to be healthy for me, guess. They have parking in a structure which is a huge plus because street parking can be a little tough in this area. The store is immaculately clean. We were welcomed warmly as we entered and exited which was a nice surprise. The prices of almost everything are heart attack inducing but the produce and prepared food items looked beautiful. The smoothie/coffee bar section is crazy busy. It took at least twenty minutes for us to get our smoothie but there were probably fifteen people ahead of us, waiting on their drink orders. We were also fortunate because there was no line when we ordered but immediately afterward, there were probably 10 people in line. The reason for the 5/5 rating is because there are several specialty items that are worth the extra money. 1. Smoothies - definitely a treat yourself moment! On days when my stomach is acting up, their smoothies are easier to digest and tasty too. 2. Real Cereal - this is an item you'll find in the cereal aisle. It comes in two options - corn flakes and rice crispies without added sugar. I don't think the rice crispies are worth it because it's already available on the market. The plain corn flakes are really nice, especially when you're looking for a low sugar breakfast option. 3. Juices - their juice fridge is my favorite part of their store. So colorful and vibrant! I come here for the selections of Bottled Water, Tea, and Coffees. BTW honorable mention to their delicious soups in the refrigerated section. Yes, I had one of their $20.00 Smoothies WTH?! Was it tasty? yes, will I get it again NOPE! I like that it is always clean, and well-stocked and I can find rare bottled water here. I reviewed this store in January of 2024 ,and was impressed with the selection of unique products, not so impressed by the prices though. I revisited the store a few days ago and the prices were still astronomical, and the selection of unique products were still impressive. What I did not like and what will probably prevent me from ever visiting again is their policy of rounding down when giving change, to avoid using pennies. It's a small thing - I was shorted three cents when given my change, but it bothered me immensely. If they want to round the change, I think that it should be in favor of the customer, especially at the exorbitant prices they charge for virtually everything in the store. read more

I came to Erewhon just to order the viral Hailey Bieber's Smoothie since everyone raved about it online. The drink cost $19 and it was the most expensive smoothie I've ever paid. Was it worth the price? Probably not but it was very tasty and supposedly had healthy ingredients such as bananas, avocado, strawberries, dates, and even hyaluronic acid. I liked that it wasn't too sweet but had a strong strawberry flavor. We decided to walk around the grocery store since my order took almost 20 minutes. The prices for the grocery items were quite steep, but I guess you are paying for the store brand. They also have a hot bar for purchase next to the bar. Everything looked extremely tasted, but we didn't end up getting anything. We had come here to look around the space. The interior was very organized and very clean. This market had a wide selection of olive oils and I love how they also sold a wide variety of different supplements, vitamins and skin care products. Their produce section is small but filled with unique items you typically wouldn't find. Everything was very fresh! I loved how they also had a section to purchase food and sides to-go at the back. Overall, I would come to this market if I were looking for more unique items as it isn't as close to my location as some other markets are. Heard so many good things about this place and glad we were able to stop by. Surprisingly, it was near the hotel we were staying at. Never heard of this place until my friend gave me a gift card to here. I live in Torrance and never knew about this grocery chain. It's only located in rich neighborhood and offers high end products at a really steep price. I don't recognize most of the labels on the products. Their products are unique and displayed really well in the store. I got their smooth from the bar at the back. I ordered their most expensive smooth; strawberry probiotic smoothie for $22. I'm not sure what's in it but it tasted amazing. I still couldn't justify spending that much for the smoothie though (I used my gift card). I also bought cookie and brownie. They were okay. Is this a beautiful hipster market? Yes, definitely! All the goods are beautifully presented, the decor is modern, bright, and everything looks vibrant and tidy. I honestly felt elegant shopping in this store haha. But is it overhyped? Well maybe, and def overpriced. Erewhon is a high-end grocery store with lots of cool products. This store in Pasadena is relatively new and the only franchise close enough for me to go to. Here's hoping for more in the Eastern Inland Empire! They have a few specialty items that really stand out, including their jar soups, pizza, salads, and smoothies. The main item which gave me the interest in shopping there was the matzo ball soup in a large jar. They have loads of different soups like chicken, chicken noodle, clam chowder, Italian vege, etc. The prices are very expensive compared to what you might be used to. Smoothie, prepared salad, and soups are all $16.00 each, but they are totally worth it. Yummy. Filling. There is reasonable parking here on Lake Street. The store is beautiful as well with some outdoor seating. They have samples as well. The box lunch is comprised of meat and two sides. I didn't get this, but it looked great. Rotisserie chicken, salad, etc. Everything in this store looks great and seems very fresh. Erewhon 5 stars all the way even with steep prices. Most of them are far west in Los Angeles. I was really impressed with their food selections! The hot food section had a variety of fresh food like sandwiches, poke, turkey pot pie, salads, etc. You can definitely tell they use hight quality ingredients because everything tasted fresh. My so and I shared the Italian sandwich, kale salad and turkey pot pie. Everything was delicious especially the kale salad! We also got the cloud smoothie and although it was good, I don't think I would get it again. It's too pricey for a smoothie. I gave it a 4 star because it took a while for the staff to help us order food. There was a lot of people working so I'm not sure if they had a system going. To be honest, I made my way in here because I knew their restrooms would be clean. Just my luck they were doing some cleaning so I perused the aisles as I waited. The shelves were so neatly organized. It didn't seem too crowded for Super Bowl Sunday however the most foot traffic centered at the bar and hot food section. Staff were nice and I had no issues. The bathroom might trigger some people's claustrophobia because the stalls are somewhat small and completed closed. I ended up buying a Detox Lemonade with Apple for $13 after the $2 bottle deposit fee. Does anyone know if they credit back the fee when you return it? The lemonade tasted just like the ginger and turmeric shots I make so I can very well replicate the flavor. Overall, would I do any normal grocery shopping here? Probably not because there are cheaper organic places. This was my first time trying the food at Erewhon and I have been anticipating it for a while. I actually really enjoyed the food like the carrots and the pizza. The tuna poke sandwich stack did not have the best texture and I believe it should not be served cold. I loved the ambiance of the store, place is perfectly organized and clean. The kitchen looks nice and the only reason why I can't give it more stars is because of the pricing. The carrots in my picture is $6 and the pizza was 10. 2 stars My first impression of this market is that it is neat. Second impression, it is expensive. Third impression, it is very popular. Fourth inpression, I am not their target demographic. No way, can the average person afford a full bag of groceries in here. However, some items are comparably priced to Wholefoods. The design and flow of the interior market made sense. And it is pretty neat and clean. It's smaller than I thought it would be. The only thing that didn't quite make sense was the cash registers since there wasn't a start of a line in front or at the food prep area. Also, there are no menu signs to be seen at the prepared food section. Only a select few will list their prices. I came to check this place out and purchased 2 canned drinks - Aura Bora sparkling water in Cactus Rose flavor and Poppi (probiotic) Classic Cola. The first drink tasted exactly like how I imagine cactus would taste like. The cola tasted like a very healthy cola... I have heard of Erewhon for many years, but never really made an effort to go until Pasadena location opened. It is in the old Boarder's space that has been vacant for many years. It has great parking! I have been getting their smoothie every week now. I got suckered into getting their membership as well so I feel obligated to come. I think their hot food price is pretty equivalent to whole food's hot food price, but tastes much better. Their pumpkin pie slice priced at $9 was very good, but costco pumpkin pie is better for price/taste ratio. Their smoothies are generally very good. The iconic hailey bieber smoothie is at whopping $18 is a hit or miss. It is still my favorite, but sometimes it is either too sweet or not blended all the way. Hence subtracting one star for inconsistency for the price I pay. I recommend almond butter blast smoothie for consistency in taste. read more

I know it's cute and trendy to go here, but it's about saving mine and my families lives. One of my besties is a multi-hyphenate in the wellness space, and a dr. We talk about this stuff all the time. Sadly it's not enough to just eat fruits & veggies. Too many additives and things that make them counterproductive. I had some numbers come back high months ago and immediately changed my habits. I knew better but, humans. I REFUSE to take medications bc of what I put in my mouth! Since April I've lost almost 40 lbs and feel better than I did in my 20's (I know I look like I'm still in them lol). So stores like this are necessary. Ppl spend on what's important to them. I can't find Moloko anymore so this works. It can get cramped in here and some of the clientele are my least favorite thing about stores I frequent like this. The sense of entitlement is stupid. This place is super clean and cute and much bigger than the other locations they have in southern California. I came here mainly for their hot foods and to try the Hailey Beiber smoothie. I had to see what the hype was all about @erewhonmarket so I ordered Hailey's strawberry glaze skin smoothie. All their smoothies were around $18-22 bucks and had organic fresh ingredients. The smoothie wasn't too sweet and was definitely on the refreshing side. Big beautiful airy marketplace. The drink place is located in the far left corner. The market is up front. We ordered two drinks. They're both different. They are efficient with order taking and the drinks were about a 10 minute wait. Prices here are a bit elevated in everything, so dont be too surprise. I finally tried the famous Hailey Bieber smoothie from Erewhon, and it completely lived up to the hype! First off, the presentation was gorgeous--vibrant, fresh, and just begging for an Instagram post. The taste was even better. Creamy, perfectly sweet in the slightest way, and loaded with a fresh mix of ingredients, it was like a dessert but without the guilt. What I loved most was how nourishing it felt. You can tell it's made with quality ingredients that are both indulgent and good for you. The price is definitely on the higher side, so I can't justify it on a normal basis--but definitely on days where I need to treat myself, this would be my go to! read more

As a Midwest girl visiting California, you know Erewhon was in my list of places to stop. I was staying a bit further out from LA so the Pasadena location was perfect. I was impressed with how easy it was to get to and the plentiful, free parking in the garage behind the store. I didn't realize it had just recently opened when I visited so it may have had some of the new store shininess or maybe that's just erewhon. I was greeted and then explored the store. There is no shortage of erewhon branded goods. I checked out everything they had to offer. Some items were very pricy and on par with what I'd heard but, I grabbed some delicious biscotti and the fan favorite Korean short rib burrito. Wow! It was amazing. Check out was easy and again very friendly. Overall this would never be my go to grocery store but it's a nice spot for a treat for lunch or dinner (or as a tourist!) read more

Erewhon has a nice selection of organic and specialty products, but the prices are outrageous. Many of the same items can be found elsewhere for much less. The Pasadena location is also missing a coffee section, which is disappointing given the premium they charge. While the store has a trendy appeal, the cost just doesn't justify the experience. read more

Beautiful store with some unique products and delicious food! We came in to check out the new location in Pasadena and grab some dinner. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, thank you Justin C. at the cafe counter for taking care of us and making great recommendations. Yes there are pricey items, but some are just worth it. We got combo plates were you pick a protein and two sides and it's charged by the weight of the protein which is in around $28/lb. We got 3 combos to try more things, the ahi tuna poke and kale and bean salad were our favorites! They even were giving out free samples of cookies and whole bottles of seasonings Parking was super easy in the lot shared with tjmaxx. read more
