What a great little coffee shop! As others have said, it's small inside but the inviting outdoor patio, where I sat, was perfect. There was shade from the sun and we were able to enjoy the fresh air and fun Larkspur vibe. Service was very friendly. I enjoyed an affogato and man was it creamy delicious. And caffeinated! Oh my. I can drink coffee all day but my hubby only has a cup in the morning so it was fabulous to have wine and beer as options! Perfect late afternoon/evening destination for both of us! :) They sell coffee-making equipment and side note, I ended up with the Clever Coffee Dripper. Love it. Parking took some effort but that's just the way it is for cute little towns! read more

I love this neighborhood equator and go everyday. The manager Fahimeh is amazing as is the entire staff. They know everybody's name (it really is like Cheers!) and there's always a warm welcome and some good conversation if time. The coffee is excellent but the people really make it special! read more

Love. Love. Love. Equator Coffee takes coffee and service to a whole different level. You can taste the quality of the product in the roast of the coffee. The Equator Blend was my introduction to Equator Coffee and it was love at first taste. Even my husband who is so picky about coffee immediately raved about the coffee. I went into purchase more coffee and the service I received was top notch! They blended the beans based on what coffee maker I had at home. The super nice staff also gave recommendations on other blends I would like based on the Equator Blend. The get their shipments twice a week and they do sell their product quickly so if you have a favorite make sure you go when they get their shipments- Tuesday and Thursday for the Larkspur store. The owners of the company are also big into helping out the local community which is huge for me. read more

Equator coffee is quickly becoming our favorite coffee and this location in Larkspur is a wonderful place to enjoy it. The interior of the store is really well done with a sort of bike theme and very cool, large map of Marin made of wood covering two walls. Every coffee we've had here has been perfectly made. They also have a great happy hour with wine and beer. My only complaint is that they don't offer a single vegan pastry item or snack unfortunately. I really, really hope they can come up with some vegan options soon. Otherwise, this location and the people working here are great. read more

What happened to the cashew milk? The person at the register acted like I was making an usual request. I felt like the staff are much ruder than they used to be. Over it. read more

I'm a fan. Excellent coffee and baked goods - and the high prices reflect the quality. Good service. Clean and organized on both the outside and inside. The store has a surprising amount of Equator merchandise. The simple patio is nice, although sitting out there you have to deal with the car traffic and the lackluster view of a green, Spartan apartment building across the street. Recommendation: the blueberry glazed donut and the coconut milk latte. read more

I've been drinking Equator coffee, since I used to manage a coffee shop in the city and boyy its been keeping me wired ever since! They've got tons of options for whole beans and very delicious my personal favorite the nicaraguan blend, medium roast beans with a nice frothy mixture to it. I'm so greatful to have this coffee shop in my neighborhood because there were no other options besides Rullis down the street, aka not my favoite place to hang. This Equator is really small but they a very cute out door seating area which hopefully you do go and its not raining. Not much of the place you would take your laptop and work, its more of a grab and go spot. The staff are very friendly and accomodating to your needs. I know they have tons of milk options so if youre that one person who needs a specific type, they just may have it! Did I mention beer and wine? yes they serve it and also have a happy hour for it! Keep doing that youre doing Equator, thank you for being in my hood! read more

I'm so excited that there is a new Equator in Larkspur! It's my favorite coffee shop in Marin and the new location is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood shopping area. I was in town this past weekend and was able to attend the grand opening celebration with a friend. For their grand opening, Equator generously offered their entire drink menu free of cost throughout the day. I ordered an iced americano and I was happy to learn that at this location they offer cashew milk instead of almond milk. Cashew milk makes for a very creamy drink and it's a nice change of pace from almond milk. They also have a range of sweeteners from homemade simple syrup to stevia if you enjoy your beverage on the sweeter side. The customer service at the Larkspur location is wonderful. The staff is very friendly, and they prepared our drinks quickly despite the line. At the register they offer a number of snacks from a few of my favorite local business such as Urban Remedy, MH Bread and Butter, as well as a delicious selection of sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, cheese plates, granola bars, and other tasty treats. Overall I'm very impressed and I look forward to returning in the near future! read more

it's time to add another stop to your cycling route! i'm so glad to have a fine, every day coffee in Larkspur now. I'm not sure what's in this coffee or why it's so delicious but it is. I recommend that you try the cold brewed iced coffee. read more

The most friendly and truly top-notch spot for the most delicious, best-executed cappuccino (iced americano, cortado, etc.) you can find in all of Marin County. A masterful, consistent, and accommodating crew--all working under the direction of a true profession and salt-of-the-earth manager name Fahimeh. Lovely outdoor seating complete with fragrant jasmine bushes. An absolute shining star here in Larkspur for all--local peeps, non-local peeps, parents and kiddos, and scrutinizing coffee snobs alike! read more

found this spot by chance driving through larkspur looking for a pit stop and a dog friendly coffee shop. I was so happy to see this is the same roaster that's at the Fort Mason Center in SF! they have a super pretty outdoor space. we stopped by when it was fairly close to closing so we were only able to get our coffee to-go but they were fine letting us hang out outside on the patio which made for a really nice afternoon. Will definitely make a trip back when back in the area for a hike or bike ride! read more

I don't drink coffee, and I'm not a tea connoisseur, but I really enjoyed my iced chai latte experience here today. The weather was perfect, so we were able to sit outside under an umbrella for hours with friends. The iced chai latte was delicious, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and beverages also. Lots of people watching, and tons of cute dogs. Next time I'm with coffee or tea snobs, I'll be sure to recommend to come here! read more

Great service, really nice owners and staff, my favorite latte in town. Will go again.

To be fair I did go to the shop at a busy hour (8AM) however I did end up waiting about 15 minutes to receive my coffee and pastry. I ordered a vanilla latte and a carrot muffin. Although I ordered a vanilla latte I realized once I was already in my car that I was given a peppermint mocha. The small coffee looks like an extra small..the muffin was really good. Overall it wasn't worth the price for me. read more

I feel that the almond late is consistently amazing and delicious. The lines are long there Because this is a very popular spot. I like running the steps and rewarding myself with my almond late. I gave Equator another try today. I got a decaf latte, which was really good for decaf. (I'm temporarily off caffeine). I was also hungry and was all ready to complain about the price and sparsity of pastries when I bought my $5 old-fashioned donut (which I think is more expensive than Johnny's). Then I bit into it. This was--no exaggeration--the best doughnut of my life. I don't even know how to describe it. Tender inside texture like a New England farm apple cider doughnut. Crisp edges. A light chocolate glaze and something else--was it a little vein of caramel in the edges? I don't know what it was but this doughnut will haunt my dreams. read more

Best coffee I've ever had! I never understood what "good coffee" truly meant until I tried Equator. This is my husband and my favorite spot on Saturday and Sunday morning. The staff and patrons are friendly, there are lots of adorable pups and families outside, and it's an added plus that they bring in the BEST breakfast tacos from Early Bird. During shelter in place their app + curbside pick-up has been executed flawlessly. We order 3-5x a week and place our order when we leave our house and it's always ready for us outside once we arrive. Definitely recommend Equator and all of their locations - Larkspur just happens to be our favorite! read more

Definitely the best cup of coffee (not espresso!) in Marin right now. Peets is dethroned for me; Equator staff make smooth, delicious coffee that strikes the right balance between lightest and darkest roasts. It's true this location gets crazy busy--I avoid it on weekends, for the most part. They serve breakfast tacos on Saturdays, though, that are phenomenal, so that's worth the line, I guess. The weekday staff here are awesome--I hope they get paid enough for the constant stress they are under! read more

I had a lot of hope for this place because of the good reviews. However, the service was terrible. I ordered an iced mocha with light ice and was given a cup filled with giant ice cubes. When I asked for less ice, the barista took the drink and spilled out the ice along with the coffee, filled it up with milk, and slid it towards me spilling it in the process. While I know that drink modifications can be a pain, light ice isn't that complicated and it didn't warrant that kind of treatment. In conclusion, I didn't come to buy a 5 dollar cup of milk and rude service. read more

I have a very high regard for Equator and they keep me coming back. The coffee is perfectly roasted (they've been roasting for decades). The different origins and so forth are roasted in a way that brings out and highlights the different flavors. The preparation is perfect and consistent. And the staff are uniformly well-trained, friendly, and knowledgeable. There's lots of great coffee in the Bay Area, and Equator stands out. read more

Perfect oat cortado. Very friendly staff. The prices were good. My fav part was the redwoods sprouting all around the shop.

Great coffee & service! Pretty small inside but they have plenty of seating right outside. Perfect for doing work on a nice day or taking a nap. Jk the coffee will make sure you won't be falling asleep. On a hot day try their affogato! Yum! Only downside is there's tons of traffic in front of the store on Magnolia Ave. Not sure if it's only like that around rush hour. There's limited street parking. There's also a parking lot in the back but most of it is occupied for valet for Perry's restaurant. A block or two down from Equator there's a public parking lot. Do it for the Fitbit steps. read more

Nice outdoor pickup window and patio seating options. Setting is relaxing--you can sit on patio, stroll and window shop, or head up the steps across the street which eventually meet up with a hiking path. Drip Coffee is mediocre. Ham and cheese croissant is good. The menu is only posted on a small sheet of paper at the ordering window, making the line take longer, as many folks need a minute to read the menu once at the front of the line. read more

We love Equator. Multiple visits per week. Great coffee. Great employees. There's only one issue. Could you make the seating area a " No laptops" at least for the early morning There are rarely seats and with five+ laptoppers dominating the seating almost every morning those of us that would love to have a seat by ourselves or with a friend to just chat and enjoy our coffee have no choice but to leave and go where? to our cars? especially when the weather is bad. read more

As a fellow coffee snob, I strive to find the best roasters around. Equator Coffee definitely makes the list. They are a local company from San Rafael (right across the Golden Gate Bridge) so it's no wonder the amount of support they recieve, but it's completely warrented, as they hit all of my important check-marks: inredible coffee, delicious pastries and excellent customer service. This Larkspur location is the newest addition to thier growing business as they now have quite a few stores spanning all over the Bay Area. This location one will no doubt be special, because it has that small town feeling where you gather up with friends, bring your dog and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. Downtown Larkspur was in need of a new coffee shop, as it really only has one other place to grab a legit cup of joe. That explains why the Grand Opening had a line out the door and a bunch of smiles filled with excitement. Let's get to the good stuff: On my latest visit, I ordered a cup of coffee, an espresso and two pastries: the almond crossaint & the berry scone. If you're wondering why I ordered a cup of coffee and an espresso, the first 5 words of this review (coffee snob here). I already knew I loved their coffee. It'd the same coffee that Bouchon Bakery in Yountville uses and that was when I first fell in love with this brew. So yes, paying a bit of a higher pricepoint is completely worth it. The espresso was perfection. Need I say more? The pastries? The alomond crossaint was one of the best I've ever had. All in all, this spot bring a new sense of community to an area that already has a strong community feeling. This only adds to it. Well worth a visit if you like good coffee (to any of their locations). Enjoy :) read more

second time coming inside this location both times the same middle aged woman with shoulder length hair and glasses was not welcoming and rude I love equator but I'm BIG on (customer service) something can BE AMAZING but if the customer service isn't up to par it repels me and doesn't make me want to spend my hard earned cash. read more

Since the pandemic, they have been so slow. I'm talking about 15-20 minutes slow. And the pre-order is a huge hassle. And when a customer comes in to the store and orders a coffee, they have to wait 5-10 minutes, while there are numerous online orders ahead of you. So the online orders sit there getting cold while an in person customer who wants coffee has to get in line of the already programmed online orders that no one is picking up. If you say, "well then order your coffee online", I say, I don't want to. I don't plan that far in advance. I want o walk in, order my coffee and get handed my coffee. It's a terrible system for getting coffee in real time, and for keeping customers. I want to support local businesses, but not if I have to wait a ridiculous amount of time. Find a better system. Coffee is undoubtedly great. As most locals already know and like the roasters. However in terms of customer service, it was very disappointing. Went with a party of 5 with kids and none of the people working there smiled once! It felt like we were an inconvenience to their afternoon. We were the only ones there btw. Bring my daughter to the nearby playground very often and I'll try their service again to see if they will make me feel unwelcome again! read more

Lovely. The folks that work there are great. They are engaging. The coffee of course is the reason I go in. I stop in for the delish coffee. I find it to be so smooth. It is a cute little place that has a nice vibe. Both inside and out. The parking is a bit challenging, but that is true of Larkspur I feel. It is such a great little spot to grab a bite to snack and coffee to drink and relax while you do some work or just chill. Love this spot to the moon and back! read more

I've never written a Yelp review before, but wanted to share my recent experience at Equator with you. Such a lovely atmosphere, it's a tiny shop but perfect for the location. Great outdoor seating space, cute plaza. The coffee is excellent, probably the best in the area. The workers are always pleasant, the baristas are very knowledgeable. It was very busy. I was there on a sat, 2 high school aged girls and 2 20-something gentlemen, and a older women. The younger girls ran the register and bussed out coffees and gentlemen were making the coffees. The girl at the register was very sweet, soft spoken. The girl bussing out the coffees was very kind and helpful when I didn't hear my name being called. There was a mixup on an order and the shop ran out of avocados, unfortunately. It happens. But the manager on duty said it was because her employees didn't tell her they had run out. And was a bit rude, in my opinion.I thought this was odd, seeing as it's her shop. I didn't give my review 5 stars solely because of the experience with the manager. Everything else was great, the workers, the coffee... read more
