Autum menu, 2025

What an amazing business! Actually, I'd say Epoch is more like a community space that serves delicious coffee, teas, pastries, tacos, and salads. Every time I visit, this place is full of people studying, playing games, crafting, and sharing conversations. It truly embodies community. There is a box of free coats for neighbors in need, a "know your rights" book at the counter for anyone approached by ICE, and even a basket inviting visitors to write love letters to a trans Texan. Posters for upcoming local events cover the walls, adding to the sense of connection. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of great restaurants and thrift stores. Most importantly, the staff are consistently warm, helpful, and welcoming. This is without question one of my favorite spots in Austin.

Interior at night

The biggest appeal is the 24 hours they're open. They have a specials menu and when I went, there were a few fall specialty drinks: coffee, matcha, and teas. The apple crumble latte I got was great if you're expecting something forward in its syrupy sweetness, which was what I wanted at the moment. Plenty of seating inside and it looks like what would happen if a bunch of people brought their used furniture from the 80s and 90s came together and furnished one big space. Plenty of outlets lining the walls and hanging from ceilings if you're in the open space. Downside for me was their wifi was out when I came, but it did what I needed it to do, which was provide a space for me to focus.

Menu, and what's a blendie?

24 hr coffee shop, what's not to like? It's spacious and creaky, seems like you can grab a drink and do some work or chill out there for a bit. These are all positives. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't vouch for their coffee. However, it seems they don't put effort into non-coffee drinks. You know, like how some bars don't put effort into non-alcoholic drinks, or how some pizza establishments use disgusting gluten-free dough that is not up to par with their regular pizza dough. Had one of their special iced teas. It was pretty tasteless and watery. Also, I had ordered a blendie. I thought it was going to be like a shake or smoothie. I ordered the horchata version. I think it ended up containing ice cream, coffee, and horchata flavor. It was pretty icy and caffeinated, which wasn't what I was looking for. Otherwise, their coffee items seemed to smell nice. There was also plenty of seating.

Always 5 stars! Great drinks, service, and it wasn't too busy today! I tried their seasonal Blood Orange Matcha de Coco and it is amaaaaaaazing!

Please like this if you've felt personally victimized by Tyler (the mean barista). Other than that coffee was okay, you might run into your ex on the porch! If you ignored the evil baristas then u can have a great time ! Didn't try the pastries, my friend did they were good but Tyler was rude about those too /:

Delicious tea, great vibes and fantastic baristas! Every time I go into Epoch I get that old Austin feel and it's so comforting. Service was quick and easy to order.

horchata slush - 4/5 asked for 1/2 sweet which was the right call. Seems like a chill environment and lots of turnover with people coming in and out, lots of space to study.

Dirty chai latte

Wow! One of the best dirty chai lattes I've had in the city. They also had some kind of apple cider flavored coffee drink that was so good I came two days in a row to get it again! The same guy took our order both days and he was super friendly and made sure to make our drinks himself the second day. He made beautiful art on the cups both days! Inside there were tons of people working on laptops and reading. Atmosphere wasn't too loud and was chill enough to go work or study in. Inside and outside seating was available.

After a three day bender my friend needed some coffee so this place was open 24 hrs. The flat white was okay not that great. My friend had the horchata and he loved it. The crew is decent , bathrooms give 90s punk and they have free condoms. I would recommend coming with low expectations of the coffee. The ambience is decent .

The iced latte was not the best I've had, I ordered with whole milk and it tasted very light as if it was 1% or fat free milk? The matcha was good, a tad sweet for my palate but overall good matcha and enjoyed that more than the iced latte. Old Austin vibes are alive here, nice place to work or study from if you need a change of scenery.

Usually, it's really difficult to find parking in this complex, but I'm miraculously dead so it was excited to go to Epoch to get some work done. I ordered a drip coffee with oat milk and it was really good! I appreciate that they have plenty of seating with outlets, however, there was a really bad smell in the store the entire time - so bad that it prompted me to leave early!

I drink a lot of milk now, and they have really good milk. I like to dunk the cookies in the milk--I have pictures. The coffee is great, the tea is great, but the Bagel Dogs are worthy of their own religion. Please oh great and mighty Bagel Dog, forgive whoever used the bathroom before me. I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about Ram. Ram is a barista, but he's more like a cross between Jason Statham and a really cuddly Labrador. He's my therapist and I think he might actually be a Bagel Dog dressed in a human outfit. Honorable mentions to Zephyr, Lucy, Anthony and Anid--I'M SO SORRY I PROBABLY SPELLED THAT WRONG, I'M A HORRIBLE PERSON. They are all awesome too. If you happen to encounter Dave, just relax. Move slowly and intentionally, make some punny dad-jokes and he will warm right up to you. Epoch on north loop is a staple of the Austin lifestyle. You can get jacked up on espresso and watch people aggressively talk to themselves. Literally, I saw a dude get into an epic argument with himself but ended up working it out and becoming his own best friend. Epoch is also a great place to meet a ragtag crew of misfits who like board games, arts, crafts and activities of all sorts. I've met some really great people there. For a conversation lasting longer than four hours, please consult a barista. Don't mind the young people on laptops. They all have tests, papers and deadlines to grind on. I'm so proud of them. When I was there age, I just did drugs and went to parties every night. So yeah, go to Epoch but PLEASE don't be a Karen or an entitled little b**** about s***. Also, don't be a bigot, racist or homophobe. Just be normal ffs. Don't be trying to drink mad dog 20/20 grape on the patio like we don't all see and smell you. Seriously, you are not fooling anyone, you are not sneaky, you just look stupid and everyone is looking at you and shaking their heads. I love Epoch. There are fancier coffee shops that look and feel like an episode of the show Friends, but Epoch is like Gotham City, and you are John Wick.

Iced Latte and Iced Matcha
Stefano D.

We stopped by this well-known Austinite-vibe, 24/7 coffee shop for to-go drinks on a Sunday afternoon. The iced matcha had a good flavor, but the honey they added was a bit too much. It leaned on the sweeter side, and I think one less pump would have made it perfect. Next time, I'll ask for it half sweet so I don't feel like I am drinking Matcha flavored syrup. The iced latte was a disappointment. Given the shop's reputation, I expected something smooth, creamy and balanced, but it tasted watered down, like it was made with low fat milk. The coffee itself was bold and flavorful, but it didn't blend well with the milk--it felt like two separate drinks in the same cup. And since they used whole milk, I'm not sure why it lacked richness. That said, the atmosphere is great--lots of people working on laptops, like a co-working space. The staff was kind and efficient, and we got our drinks quickly. Overall, a mixed experience. I think I'd come back and give it another try, but with a few tweaks to my order.

My favorite is lychee London fog tea. Barissta recommended it to me, and now it is my favorite--great ambiance, eclectic, and good music.

Worst coffee I've had. Don't recommend going here. It was so bad that I left my coffee on the table after 3 sips. Find somewhere else to go.

While I went to the bakery just to look around, I got sucked in their bakery vortex...in a very good way.
