Two times sucessfully "reserved" a car online to go out of town with my family. Two times they don't have ANY cars and never even called to give me an update that they don't have what I reserved. They had nothing. I don't understad how the only thing you do, you can't do. Don't list something as available when NOTHING is available and then with no warning leave customers hanging. I showed up two different times to pick up my car, on two separate occasions, 9 months apart and they left me hanging without a car to leave town with the day of. Such an unprofessional outfit. Will never trust them again. I'm guessing this happens basically everyday with this enterprise. How they stay in business is a mystery to me. If there are no cars available, make it so on the website. People are depending on this confirmation, and then walking in to no actual reservation. If this is not something that can be done, highlight this system flaw so people understand that there is a possibility they may need a second option. ALL requirements should be highlighted as well. This will not only help clients, but bring less negativity to your franchises as a whole. Overall, customer service is not easy but Enterprise has many system flaws that could potentially bring any side of a decent individual out. I will not be recommending this business as a whole. I was in a car accident, hit a coyote. My insurance company State Farm, recommended Enterprise car rental and it was a great choice. Noah picked me up from the body shop and we went to Enterprise and rented a Toyota Corolla, it was peppy! I was in and out in under 20 mins. No hassles, the car was nice and clean. The same thing happened when I returned it. once again I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. God awful! You make an appointment to pick up a vehicle and when you go to pick up the vehicle, they say the vehicle needs an oil change. I would have to wait for them to take the car for the oil change or I need to bring it to big for the oil . I go to big old tires in and they can't even take it right away for the oil change it's great when you pay someone for service and you get zero service from a rental car. They clearly don't know what they're doing. read more

A Ok. We had a fair amount of difficulty booking a rental care during our several day stay. We had to book out two days after we arrived before they were finally able to get us a car. Our appt time was early and we overslept a bit. They called and said they were going to give our car away, so we sped dressed and got there as quickly as we could. After the two day wait and booking an economy car they gave us a ... mini van? It was fine cause it gets us from A to B, but definitely more car than we needed and not what we booked. They also required a $400+ hold on my husbands credit card for us to take the car for two days. Overall: B- You may have trouble booking a car and if you do, you may not get what you booked. My vehicle was involved in an accident & I requested the other parties insurance to choose enterprise as a rental. The lady who set up my rental was able to get me in as I had a flexibility schedule. When it was agreed at pick up which vehicle I was renting I fell in love with the Nissan & Emily explained everything thoroughly & helped familiarize me with the car as it was a 2024 model as I'm use to 2018 Nissans. Upon return Eli and Emily both greeted me & were very helpful when it comes to questions on rentals. Will definitely rent a car through enterprise in the future. read more

Trash customer service - how do u call and reserve a car, to drive to the location, to be told that they don't have any cars for you? Your business model of having the calls forwarded to a location that has NO connection to the location. The dark haired girl in glasses is by far the RUDEST woman I've ever encountered, she has shown zero empathy and she is highly unprofessional, upon asking for advice she stated "I've helped all I can I don't know what more u want from me we don't have any cars for you maybe order ahead of time" I reserved a car two days ago and each day I show up UPON BEING TOLD "hey ur car is confirmed" there are no vehicles because they are the most incompetent people I've ever encountered and the business model in itself is flawed beyond comparison. read more

I made the reservation over a month ago and when it came time to do the early check-in, they would not take my bank Visa credit card that has enough money in the account to buy a car and they wouldn't take my virtual credit card that has more than enough to cover a month of reservations. I went through three hours of trying to get help from anybody, including running my credit to get a new credit card and they all insisted on me having a plane ticket out of Springfield. Worst Business tactics Ive ever seen. Started out Monday, insurance company set us up with rental through them to pick us up on Tuesday. No show on Tuesday. Called, was told they would not have a rental car until Friday, they'd pick us up Friday morning. It's Friday morning, not only did they not show up, when husband called, Steve, the manager, answered the phone. Informed my husband that they had called 3 times, neither his phone nor my phone have any missed calls. When I called back, Steve informed me that they were at my house and nobody came out. And now, no cars are available. I asked why they didn't ring the doorbell, he answered Why should we? Seriously? How Rude and lazy can you be? I has been renting from AVIS for 14 years without a problem ever! Went in to rent a car for vacation and the clerk was completely rude to me and said they had no rentals for the dates I was requesting. July 22nd - July 29th. I went in 3 weeks in advance so I was unclear as to how she would know. Left went down the street to Enterprise and was greeted with a smile from Jenna Bieber and Melaina Barrett and immediately helped. 10 to 15 minutes later I had a nice Ford Expedition for my upcoming trip with my wife, kid, and Mother and Father in Law to Myrtle Beach. They were extremely helpful and when I returned the car the handled the transaction with ease. I had forgotten that I had ordered the gas so I did not have to fill in up when we got back just drop it off and they immediately gave me a refund. The price was totally fair, no problems with the vehicle, ran great and I was totally satisfied with their customer service. Made me feel like they really cared about their customers satisfaction. We rented online, scheduled a pick up, before we left home in another state. called them the morning of our rental agreement, they said, no, we're not picking you up bc they are a tourist destination & covid. Whhhaaattt???!!? Had we known this 300+ miles ago, we would have brought our car! called Enterprise main #, they said all restrictions have been lifted, they looked up that location, they did not have anything stating they weren't picking up. Enterprise main # said they are required to notify them if they change anything so it can be put on the website. Now, I'm stuck at a campground in Branson, MO with NO TRANSPORTATION! I have rented from Enterprise in other states & never had this problem! The guy just told my husband, the car is ready for pick up. DUH!!!! if i HAD transportation....... I wouldn't need your car!!! When I arrived there were 4 guys standing at counter, I was waited on promptly, when taken to do the walk around on the car, I commented about how filthy the car was, inside and especially outside, the worker said that the "goo" that was spread all over the door just wouldn't come off and that was the best they could do. The very first thing I did when I left with the car was fill it up with gas (it had less than a 1/4 of a tank) and wash it, funny thing is it took me less than 5 minutes to wash the crap off of the outside of the car. When I returned the car I brought the nastiness of the car up to the rep and again was dismissed and told they had tried nearly everything they could think of to clean it without success. Lots of shoulder shrugs. If this location had not been assigned by an insurance co. I would have refused the car and went down the road. Our car was in the shop, and insurance covered our rental. First off they try to scare you with you being responsible for every little miniscule scratch, and ding. So they really push their insurance. I get my vehicle, and there is literally no unscathed part of this vehicle. They tell me to mark where I see damage, and I circle the whole picture. Clearly they are not fixing "Any" of the damages they are collecting on! I returned the car a day later that was took only to the store, and then parked in my garage. Upon returning they tried to question me about a scratch... I immediately blew up because I knew what they were trying to do. The manager quickly said; oh I can tell the vehicle is in bad shape, they probably just didn't log that damage. He said don't worry about it. The point is it never should have been brought up. They are scamming people, and I will never use them again. read more

Having an issue with the Sunshine Street office. Rented a car for three days. Charges were supposed to be $210. I was charged more than $1,500!!!! My bill was mixed up with someone's corporate bill. It maxed out my credit card and I can't use it, which I explained to the man since the weekend was coming up. The agent at the store said it would take accounting a few days to run it. It's now been more than four days and when I talked to him Friday, he said it would be done that day. I would think it would maybe take two days at the most. I've been pretty patient. I haven't called and bothered them. Still nothing. How long does it take to reverse charges? Should I contact district manager or what? I sent an email to corporate and didn't get a response other than they would contact me. Enterprise had a reservation for my car a week in advance, but did not have a comparable car available on pick up. Person entered more gas than was actually on the gage, went back in and requested correction on paperwork and was then told it was not that much of a difference. Wonder if they would feel same upon return. Received Dirty Dodge minivan in place of a car. Large, poor gas mileage. Dirty inside and out. Waited 4 days for Regional manager to call back after calling in complaint. No call. Was supposed to receive call with in 24 hours. I rented a car from Enterprise while my car was being repaired. The rental car's interior had not been cleaned. It wasn't that big of a deal to me, since I tote so much junk around in my car anyway. However, there is an expectation when you pick up a rental that it will be clean. The business hours are listed until 6. I had to schedule a pick-up at Reliable BMW. I called Enterprise and was told the latest pick-up time is 5p. Grrr...I knew there was no way it would take an hour for them to get me and back to Enterprise. I understand they do not want to make pick-ups at 6, when closing is 6. Just seems like a cut off of 5p is a little early for people who work. I would rate the employee interaction as great. Didn't have a pleasant experience. I booked my car for 4 pm and arrived around 2:30 pm. The lady at the counter said since I booked it for 4 pm my car would only be available at 4 pm. I have rented 100's of times from Enterprise and other rental car companies and this is the 1st time I am getting this response. The time the car is booked is an approx time and usually the lady at the counter adjusts the time to reflect the time that I take the car. This was my first issue. After renting the car, I got a Hyundai Elantra and I drove it to office to find a flat tire. And there was no SPARE! I mean who rents cars without a spare? Unbelievable! Then spent the next 3 hrs trying to get a replacement car with countless calls to customer service and had to take a trip to the airport to collect the car. Not a good experience at all. Considering that I rent from Enterprise often and am a GOLD member was very unhappy. And to top it off when I returned the car the next day to a different rental counter they wouldn't drop me to the mechanic which was like 10 mins away. They complained they wanted to close shop and couldn't do anything more than 5 minutes away. What about making me ride in a tow truck to the airport to get a replacement car? What about 3 hrs of my time wasted doing that??? read more

If it was possible to give Enterprise zero stars, and still say what I needed to say, they would have gotten zero! I wish I could say it was just one store, because I used to rent with them every other month, and always got the most amazing service, and recommended them to everyone that even gave the hint they were going to be needing a rental car, but I switched jobs about a year ago, and hadn't needed one. I had a family emergency with my 8-year-old niece, and needed to get home to central Illinois ASAP, so I booked the vehicle right after speaking to my sister, around 5:30 am. My pick-up time was scheduled for Noon today, my fiancé, Lucas, and Mother-in-law arrived to pick up the vehicle a little after 12:30. I called them as soon as I knew they were going to be late, around 10:30 am, and was told it would be no problem at all. Lucas arrives, tells them he has a reservation, and gives them the number. I had rented an Intermediate SUV, because I have specific needs. They inform Lucas that they do not have an Intermediate SUV, because the only one on the lot has a recall on it. Lucas asks what the recall is on, and the agent got annoyed, and stated that he didn't know. Lucas asks at this point if he can go check, and at this point the agent is VISIBLY annoyed. The agent comes back, and says "oh, I thought there was a recall, but there's not, or I can't find it at least", yet the agent still tells Lucas he cannot rent it to him, and attempts to rent him a minivan. Lucas went to look at it, sat in the front seat, and says "There is no way this will work, she is an amputee and 5 foot tall." the seats were so high up, we would have literally had to carry a footstool with us for me to get in and out, unacceptable. The agent then offered him a compact car, which again will not work. As a below the knee amputee, I cannot sit in a small car for 400 miles without being in terrible pain, again unacceptable. Lucas is about to blow his top at this point, and then the agent comes back and says the only thing he can do is the van. The agent informed him at that point, that his total was approximately $539.00 on the van. On my confirmation from Enterprise showed the reservation was confirmed for an Intermediate SUV, and that my total would be $214.83. So not only are they attempting to put us in something that will in no work accommodate what we needed, he was informing us that we had to pay for the upgrade! When he got home, and told me about what happened, I was so upset, and I called customer service. I was never given a solution, I was never helped. I was just told over and over again that there was nothing they could do, because there had been storms and computer issues, so things weren't updating on time. It's a world full of technology, I understand that, and technology comes with issues, I get that too. However between the time they opened to the time Lucas went to pick up the vehicle, why did no one call us to explain the situation. Why, the two times that I called, did no one bother to say "we don't have what you ordered, and pickings are slim". Terrible experience, terrible service, terrible values! read more

My car went into the shop on 5/5/17 and my insurance told me that I could have a rental care through Enterprise. I was not able to get the car until 5/9/17 due to medical and transportation issues. So I called Enterprise and let them know that I would need a car on 5/9/17. I let them know that due to medical and other reasons I specifically did not want a SUV, I wanted a simple 4 door sedan or hatchback. They asked when I would pick it up, I told them that since I did not have a way there and I had a doctor's appt that morning i could not be sure but that it would not be before 10 am. I showed up a little after 12 pm and they have rented out the car that they say they have reserved for me because they try to tell me that I told them I would be in at 10 and I was 2 hours late. The only thing they have available is a large SUV which I had specifically said I could not get in and out of. The clerk and two other staff there were EXTREMELY RUDE and told me I could check back after 530 to see if something came in. I tried after 530 and no one answered the phone. So here I am with medical issues that need to be addressed and no car. I have insurance that will cover up to 30 days rental and they just throw that away. It really sucks that there are no real other options in a town this size. Sorry to say that Avis is not much better except that they are honest with you upfront. read more

The clerk didn't know how to complete the rental since it was done through my credit card rewards. I've done it this way before at other enterprise locations with no trouble. He said he needed a some code, even after I showed him the confirmation that said it was all paid and ready (he acknowledged that I didn't owe anything ). Basically, he stood staring at me until I offer to call the credit card reservation dept. The rep there was very put out that he was having me call to figure it out. It ended while I was on the phone with the card co, and the Enterprise guy 'figured it out'. It ended up being fine, but took 20 minutes, and he offered no apologies. This is the worse place ever. The people up front only care about themselves. They let people rent cars break corporate policies such as smoking and there's pet hair all over the cars just so they can keep there scores high. What I don't understand is why is it a corporate policy if your not going to abide by them. They chose certain people to charge and that is very unfair to the customer service. read more

I have rented at Enterprise for several years. I traveled with my former company, Allstate Corp. Office MANY MANY times. I now work for a large corp. insurance company in Springfield. In the last 2 months, Ive rented cars at least 4 times because I do travel for business and occasionally pleasure. I should get a discount because I work for a company that does a lot of business with Enterprise. The last time I rented a car for a week, I booked a small, I think compact car to try to keep the cost low so with my discount it shouldn't have EVER cost me more than 11-14/ per day to rent. When I got to the Enterprise, the very nice woman who assisted me (in fact, if I was just rating Lydia this review would be 5 stars... she provides THAT GOOD of customer service, kind, QUICK, professional, Lovely Woman) said that they upgraded me for free to a Full Size car since that's what they had available. Great, I don't care what care they give me, but thanks! THE PROBLEM came when I returned from Chicago later that I expected. STUNNINGLY they charged me for 3 days at 35.00/day which actually came out to thee most expensive rental car, I've ever had. I assume, they charged me daily for the nicer vehicle, instead of what I booked...i am not really sure. What I expected to be a 175.00 rental turned into, 310.00. I am not upset becasue of the bill, that can be discussed and paid. I'm upset becasue of the lack of communication. And this is NOT the first time this has happened to me with Enterprise. They called me a few days after I returned the rental car and I returned their call the very next day that i could. I left a voicemail for them, and have never heard back. WEEKS later, I get a bill in the mail. I return to my office the day after I get the bill and I have an email from someone who claims to be an assistant manager at a corp office (not this location) asking me about payment on my bill. I emailed 3 different sources attempting to resolve the matter. NO RESPONSE. I send a follow-up email to this assistant manager asking him if there is ANYONE else I can speak to about this since he didn't reply. Well, he of course couldnt reply to that email because it would acknowledge that he read it...so again no response. I requested that the charges be reduce OR REMOVED. At the very least, I wanted someone to just respond to me. If it is determined I owed the bill, I promised payment before my next reservation. STILL no response. I have already cancelled a reservation I had on July 18th BECAUSE OF THIS. I have a VERY IMPORTANT RENTAL booked for this next week and now I find myself scrambling looking for another rental car company becasue I am so furious that I have been completely ignored. Again, if this was the first time, I would not be having this reaction. This company AVOIDS you and discussing charges at all cost. Ive only used Enterprise since I started renting cars. Its really a shame because on most other levels, I find them extremely easy to work with. I have always been offered other insurance coverage or upgrade options and when I declined they never pushed. I also find Enterprise to be one of the easiest to get good rates that fit within insurance coverage benefits and business budgets on rentals. Terrible experience. I requested to be picked up at 8:00 AM from the establishment that was fixing my car. Nobody was there to pick me up when I requested. I called at 8:05 to confirm someone was coming to pick me up and was told they had called the establishment directly instead of me to confirm pick up, so they didn't send anyone. I was reassured they would send someone right away. 8:45 rolls around and someone from Enterprise FINALLY shows up to pick me up (I was supposed to be at work at 8:00 but had told my boss I would be a little late because I was getting a rental car). We made it back to Enterprise at 9:00 and it took 15 minutes to get the actual car. This is the part that infuriates me. The gentleman helping me gave me two options for coverage; $24 a day (the cheap one) or over $50 a day. I was never once told if I had full coverage personally through my insurance company it was unnecessary to get Enterprises' coverage. Luckily, as he was putting me in my car he mentioned something about it and so I cancelled the coverage through Enterprise. In my opinion, they should really tell customers that up front, especially when dealing with one whom has never rented a car before! I made it to work around 9:20, losing practically an hour and a half of my day. Luckily, my boss was understanding. If at all possible, avoid Enterprise. Choose another car rental company to deal with. read more
