    Horrible customer service. Overbooked by 25 people today and said whoops tough luck we won't have any cars until MONDAY! I just can't.

    I travel for work about 8 months of the year. I rent cars a lot. I usually make a reservation…read morebefore I arrive but this time I forgot to make a reservation. The only car rental place that had cars available was Hertz. I walked up and was told they only type of car they had was of course the highest tier. I was stuck and had no choice but to rent it. The next day I received our corporate rate code. I call the rental counter directly because the is not a corporate owned location. The person I spoke with said that she could not apply the corporate rate to the rental because it was company policy not to apply corporate codes to walk up rental. They also added that they were sold out. When I asked if I could get a copy of the policy to not apply corporate codes to walk up rentals, I was told it is not in writing so I could not get it. So, I guess if the policy is not in writing, how can you enforce it. I believe this is a perfect case of price gouging if I ever seen it. I definitely not rent from Hertz again, whether it is corporate owned or not. Very unprofessional for a business to still operate like this.

While we sat near her desk/counter, within 5 ft and she was fully aware that we were there and could hear her, she proceeded to tell a coworker about 2 elderly women she had at her counter a few days ago. The words from her mouth were that she told the 2 women that "she knows they were elderly and respected that but that didn't give them a bitch-pass". SHe did this while not caring that we (potential customers) could hear all that she was saying. How said and rude. She was pretty rude to a gentleman who was at her counter while we were sitting there as well. NO customer service skills whatsoever.

My friend and I rented a car for the…read more4th of July holiday We paid for 48 hours and entered our destination location into the app. The trip started off fine and we made it to our destination successfully but when we went to leave the next day we realized despite having a physical car key, we had been locked out of the engine and were unable to start the car. Apparently our destination was out of Internet range. When I called to complain and have them unlock it remotely I was told they were unable to do so because of the lack of Internet access. Needless to say, we were stranded and missed the ferry we had intended to take home. Fortunately, we were able to hitch another ride back to the city. I think it's ridiculous that you aren't able to start a car despite having a physical car key, and the fact that they knew our destination location and didn't let us know there would be no Internet service is infuriating. I've heard of this happening with other car apps which is exactly why I specifically chose Car2go. I knew with this service I would be given a physical car key. Turns out, that makes no difference. To make matters worse, when I called to complain and request a refund for the remaining seven-hour portion of our trip (since we had been stranded and weren't able to return home) I was told they would put in a request, but I would need to follow up because that isn't protocol. We have both since called and emailed to follow up and have received no response or refund. Adding insult to injury, the car was stranded in our friend's driveway blocking her garage for a week before it was retrieved by the company.

    I love this service for what it is. but over time I've noticed that the city of Seattle purposely…read morepicks out car2go cars and tickets relentlessly, and by the time car2go gives you notice of the ticket/violation its over a month later and you have no way to dispute the charge with evidence. This all came to a head recently when my car was towed a month ago (just finding out), and the GPS coordinates on the app show the car was parked in an acceptable parking area, but the city towed it claiming it was on another street. After talking with customer service, they will not remove the almost $500 charge to my account for a tow (half is a service fee from car2go). I've had to close my card down to prevent them from charging my account. Be careful if you use this service, it will cost you more than owning a car in the long run.
