Speaking of budget, we also appreciated that John would always have a full range of options available for us to decide upon, not only in product selection but also with unanticipated repairs needed (our home is over 100 years old). John was in constant contact with all of the utility companies, as well as DCRA, ensuring that we had all of the permits and any other paperwork required. It was very reassuring to know that a contractor takes the time and initiative and really wants the best for you and your project. John is extremely easy to be in communication with, his staff is honest, hardworking and skilled - all things that I think are important to anyone taking on a project, big or small. It was a full gut -- complete renovation with new everything: lighting, heated flooring, vanity, tub with handheld shower, and more. They were exceptionally knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating. To prevent the family room from getting dirty, they covered the floors and furniture in the entire family room. They always came on time and were incredibly diligent in their work. What I especially liked about AVC Home Improvement is that they are the ones who are actually do all the work. They are not a company who contract out their work. We had additional requests during the renovation of our full bathroom: adding lighting for the tub/shower area, installing grab bars and heated flooring. AVC didn't hesitate to accommodate our requests. They also installed a new utility room sink for the washing machine, and relocated the washing machine so that it is now next to the dryer. That makes it so much easier for us. Their recommendations for the electrician and countertop people were also exceptional. The flooring install looks great and very well done…read more Erick paid attention to detail, matching the landings to the reclaimed flooring in other rooms to pull the look together, even though this was not something we'd thought of before. :) His team was also patient in accommodating a slightly later than anticipated start each day, as I had to travel to the home to let them in. There were a few hiccups with stain color, namely how it looked in natural light and with the lights on (partly due to the fact that I am new to wood staining and partly due to the red wall adjacent to the sampling we did -- please do your research if you are new to this). There were also smudges on the wall post floor staining, all but one of which Erick was able to fix up (after I noticed and pointed them out which, unfortunately, was after the project was deemed complete). Erick provided a discount for the inconvenience/the one leftover smudge, which I appreciated. Erick took responsibility for his and his team's work and was responsive to our needs and any issues. The floors look great at a reasonable price and I was able to support a small business, which I value (and hope you will too). His primary crew, who worked in my home, were respectful, skilled and kind. I am glad to recommend them to others. Edit: A couple days after the work was done, I noticed some left over materials from the project like wipe cloths, empty plastic bottles, etc. in the home (not a huge amount so not the biggest deal, but things do add up). While the actual flooring work is excellent, clean up/close up is not always 100% it seems, so that's the area I would recommend the company improve. :)

With very short notice, Zack squeezed me into his extremely busy schedule in order to finish my home so I could move in on time, and get me out of a temporary apartment nightmare. Zack and crew had to redo all my new solid wood interior doors, jams and stops that were installed incorrectly, repaint the entire home top to bottom, customized my closets, redo my master bath tub and shower plumbing and tile, replace a large window sill, and a myriad of other little projects needed to get me moved back in ASAP. Furthermore, most of the work had to be done while I was on vacation in Hawaii for three weeks. Cosgrove and Sons recently completed a complete renovation of our master bathroom. We had been…read moreplanning this renovation for a few years and had gotten bids and plans from two other contractors, but were never able to come up with a plan which reflected what we really wanted done. After working with Stephen Cosgrove, we designed an Asian influenced bathroom which was just what we had envisioned and hired Cosgrove and Sons for the renovation. Cosgrove and Sons gutted our old bathroom, installed a new subfloor, tiled a wall, the floor and shower enclosure, moved a floor vent, installed recessed lighting, did electrical and plumbing work, installed a new tub, vanity, vanity lights and mirrors, faucets, towel heater, ceiling fan, toilet with washlet seat, hung up shelves and robe hooks, built a custom shower, built recessed wall niches for the shower and tub and painted the ceiling and walls. No subcontractors were used; the work was primarily done by two Cosgrove employees, Felipe and Miguel. They did a fantastic job. Felipe was careful to explain how things were being done and always consulted with me about any issues. Both workers were very polite and professional, cleaned up after themselves, and as a bonus, were nice to my dogs! The only real issue during the renovation was a delay in completing the shower enclosure. One of the pieces of glass was cut incorrectly twice, which delayed the project finish by two months, and when it was finally cut correctly and installed, we discovered that the piece of glass on the side was too tall, so there was another two week delay for a replacement. To make up for this delay, Lisa Cosgrove gave us free labor to replace all of our bedroom and front entry closet doors, which have been broken for several years, so I was happy! My husband and I love our new bathroom and are very satisfied with the work done by this contractor. I would not hesitate to hire them again.

We were very pleased with the quality of their work, which involved gutting the first floor of our old colonial, opening up walls and adding beams for structural support, building a brand new kitchen, adding a new powder room, and installing new windows, doors and wood flooring. We were also thrilled that they completed the project on time, in 10 weeks from start to finish. Phillip Cosgrove was our project manager, and he was excellent. He was on-site every day and did the bulk of the work himself with the assistance of one, sometimes two other employees, who were also great. He managed the various subcontractors and vendors who were needed for plumbing work, electrical, appliances, etc. He interpreted the architect's plans and didn't balk when we asked for a few changes mid-way through the project. When we encountered unexpected issues in the house (rotted wood, vents in odd places), Phillip and Stephen Cosgrove helped us come up with solutions and kept the project moving. We didn't live in the house during the renovation, but we stopped by almost every day and were impressed with how they contained the mess associated with a gut job and minimized disruption to our neighbors. We encountered a few bumps along the way (some miscommunications, some extra costs), but ultimately everything was handled professionally and to our satisfaction. It's been almost four months since we moved back into the house, and we couldn't be more delighted with the new space that Cosgrove created. We are very glad we hired Cosgrove for our renovation and would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects.

In fact, I was so impressed by their personable, thoughtful and accommodating approach, I had them simultaneously renovate two additional bathrooms in addition to the laundry/utility room and bathroom in the basement. I have had increasing challenges with rheumatoid arthritis and Dave Taghipour, the owner, and Oksana, the designer, listened carefully to my current obstacles in these spaces and worked with me to develop beautiful, accessible, spaces where form follows function. Their showroom has a wide variety of samples, but they are also flexible about incorporating clients' specific choices. Compared to other design/install companies in the area, they are far less costly and finished all 4 spaces within the initial timeframe they had initially quoted and kept me updated throughout the renovation. The Eco workers are very reliable, friendly and respectful of the clients' space and belongings. Not only did they cover and vent all work areas, they cleaned and tidied up every night and Eco had my house professionally cleaned at the end of the work. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with All Eco and their work, but the final pictures say it all. I love showing off my gorgeous bathrooms and laundry room, which, because All Eco put additional effort into listening and understanding my specific needs/challenges given my disabilities, has made daily use of these space worlds easier for me. And seven years later, i still smile whenever i walk into my All Eco renovated kitchen and master bath, both of which have remained easy for me to navigate despite a considerable decline in my physical function thanks to All Eco's compassionate attention to my specific needs during the design and build. Extremely professional workmanship, custom design to include accessibility features…read more I was hesitant to do this project (full redo of 2 bathrooms), as I was concerned about disturbing the integrity of our 1950's-built home. But as the saying goes, "happy wife, happy life," or "happy spouse, happy house." After receiving several quotes, we decided to select All Eco Design Center as our contractor due to the customization features we could select, their extensive knowledge of homes in our area, and seeing some of their previous work. We started the process by sending some inspiration pictures to Oksana (designer) and Dave (owner). Our goal for this project was to maintain the structural integrity of the house and update the bathrooms while maintaining the character of the house and incorporating accessibility features without looking too clinical. After a few design sessions, Oksana and Dave captured our design via 3D model, and proposed some recommendations. I appreciated that Dave's company is a full-service operation, with teams specializing in tile, plumbing, electrical, drywall/finishing, etc. Yuri the project manager was also very attentive and thorough. Each employee's craftsmanship showed they were invested in completing the job as if they were doing it for their own home. As no construction project goes without some minor complications, it is noteworthy that this team is accessible and timely to deal with any unexpected events, ensuring the project is completed to the customer's vision.
