We called TR Granite to replace the granite in our kitchen. My wife went online and looked at the variety of options. We had many options from quartz, quartzite and granite. There were a wide variety of options to choose from as far as what color/pattern of granite we could have installed. We spoke with Atila who came to our home to measure. The installation team came several days later. They did an absolutely fantastic job. It was done in a clean way, they are a pleasure to work with and they asked all of the important questions to make sure that they installed it just as we would want. The price quoted was extremely reasonable. We paid 1/2 up front and the balance after installation. I am completely satisfied. We now may change the backsplash. They don't supply the tile which we will have to purchase after living with the new granite. If we decide to change the backsplash also, they will certainly be the ones to remove what we have and install the new. A part of my kitchen sink rusted and caused a major leak under my sink. I assumed the sink would need replacing and the granite would be an issue. I got TR Granite from yelp and communicated with them. A representative came out the same day and was very knowledgeable as to what needed to be done to fix my sink. He was honest and up front when he could have tried to sell me a sink. I appreciated that very much. A few hours later a gentleman came and replaced parts in my sink and it's as good as new. All were fine, but TR Granite (and personally Faruk) were superior in all aspects: responsiveness, number of options I was given, speed of measurements appointment schedule, providing an initial ballpark estimate - which was the best price, incidentally. The fine-tuned estimate after the measurements were done did not deviate much from the original - which is obviously very positive. Having read good reviews on Yelp, I chose TR Granite for my small kitchen remodel. Attilla, the salesman, came and helped me choose honed black granite for the countertop. He suggested we visit the site in Manassas to see it in person, which we did. Nobody at the shop seemed to expect us when we got there but eventually Attilla's nephew found the right granite and showed it to us. This seemed to be the way they operate, a bit disorganized but polite. After several reschedules on my part, Attilla returned to measure the job. Although I reminded him that I had not yet seen an estimate, he never sent one. I kept good notes and knew the price, so didn't worry. More reschedules on my part were politely accommodated. Finally installation day arrived. First came Henry, the plumber. Not having seen a quote I was delighted to realize the plumbing was included. Then came Juan and his countertop installation helper Oscar(?). They got right to work and were most efficient. The countertop looks great and only two small details needed my painting and cabinetmaking skills. The walls were sufficiently bowed in this old house to suggest to Juan that he should caulk between the backsplash and the red wall. He chose white paintable caulk, which looked aweful until I painted it red. I wish he'd talked to me because I would probably have advised him to skip the caulk. Second, when the 28" undermount sink was being set into a very tight 30" base cabinet, he apparently found insufficient support for the front corners of the sink. Unprepared, he chopped off a couple of lengths of scrap and screwed them inside the cabinet in full view. He never mentioned it and I was quick to replace them with something more finished. Most people are not equipped to do that. If you use TR Granite, examine the finished job before the men leave. But I emphasize that the stone was beautifully finished and installed. The best part was Henry the plumber. He spent about six hours plumbing the sink, faucet, dishwasher, and water filter. I only had to make two trips to Ace for parts he didn't have but he was so nice it was a pleasure. When the water filter turned out to need a connector not stocked by Ace I got involved and found it at the filter manufacturer. I was able to install it myself when it arrived, but I still remember his offer to come back and do it for free if I needed him. Although TR Granite needs more people keeping track of the paperwork, they have the right ones doing the work. I would definitely use them again. read more
