Imagine the horror of finding the city's clogged sewage drain flooded your basement with poop!! Thankfully, after All Eco did such an incredible job renovating my kitchen and master bath 7 years ago, it was a no-brainer to have them renovate after the clean-up. In fact, I was so impressed by their personable, thoughtful and accommodating approach, I had them simultaneously renovate two additional bathrooms in addition to the laundry/utility room and bathroom in the basement. I have had increasing challenges with rheumatoid arthritis and Dave Taghipour, the owner, and Oksana, the designer, listened carefully to my current obstacles in these spaces and worked with me to develop beautiful, accessible, spaces where form follows function. Their showroom has a wide variety of samples, but they are also flexible about incorporating clients' specific choices. Compared to other design/install companies in the area, they are far less costly and finished all 4 spaces within the initial timeframe they had initially quoted and kept me updated throughout the renovation. The Eco workers are very reliable, friendly and respectful of the clients' space and belongings. Not only did they cover and vent all work areas, they cleaned and tidied up every night and Eco had my house professionally cleaned at the end of the work. I could go on and on about how impressed I am with All Eco and their work, but the final pictures say it all. I love showing off my gorgeous bathrooms and laundry room, which, because All Eco put additional effort into listening and understanding my specific needs/challenges given my disabilities, has made daily use of these space worlds easier for me. And seven years later, i still smile whenever i walk into my All Eco renovated kitchen and master bath, both of which have remained easy for me to navigate despite a considerable decline in my physical function thanks to All Eco's compassionate attention to my specific needs during the design and build. Extremely professional workmanship, custom design to include accessibility features I was hesitant to do this project (full redo of 2 bathrooms), as I was concerned about disturbing the integrity of our 1950's-built home. But as the saying goes, "happy wife, happy life," or "happy spouse, happy house." After receiving several quotes, we decided to select All Eco Design Center as our contractor due to the customization features we could select, their extensive knowledge of homes in our area, and seeing some of their previous work. We started the process by sending some inspiration pictures to Oksana (designer) and Dave (owner). Our goal for this project was to maintain the structural integrity of the house and update the bathrooms while maintaining the character of the house and incorporating accessibility features without looking too clinical. After a few design sessions, Oksana and Dave captured our design via 3D model, and proposed some recommendations. I appreciated that Dave's company is a full-service operation, with teams specializing in tile, plumbing, electrical, drywall/finishing, etc. Yuri the project manager was also very attentive and thorough. Each employee's craftsmanship showed they were invested in completing the job as if they were doing it for their own home. As no construction project goes without some minor complications, it is noteworthy that this team is accessible and timely to deal with any unexpected events, ensuring the project is completed to the customer's vision. It's always weird when you're having a negative experience of a company that have pleased so many others, but here it is. We sourced just a vanity for our bathroom remodel from All Eco, and, crucially, we are very happy with the results. However, the journey to get here has been tough. In short, the vanity came in wrong, clearly not as ordered, twice. The first time I got a call saying "your vanity is here but it's only 48 inches wide." I pointed out this is not my vanity. The second time they delivered the wrong vanity (set up for one sink only instead of two). In the second case it was disclosed to me that All Eco had put the order in wrong; I'm not sure what happened in the first case as to whether the issue was their supplier. When it finally came in, the drawer fronts were back ordered. All of this has ultimately added probably about 6 weeks to the project that was projected to take 2-3 weeks. Also All Eco would charge extra for installing drawer knobs and pulls? Our main contractor (who will take care of it) told us that was highly atypical. Communication has not been great. Not infrequently I sent an email then got a phone call in response that mostly said just "I don't know when it'll be." Thanks for wasting my time for nothing. Also their storefront is open on weekends but the person there doesn't seem to know anything about anything, which seems silly. It's fine that to meet with a designer you need to finagle it during the work week--but having store hours on weekends seems like false advertising. At the same time they start at 10 in the morning during the work week and are not available to answer questions earlier, which is not very compatible with typical construction schedules. I should add that even though our contract didn't include vanity delivery, after our contractor picked up the wrong vanity, All Eco was quite reasonable about delivering the right one, when it was at last available. read more

We recently renovated our 1970's kitchen. I was very specific about what countertops I wanted. I was looking for Vetrazzo, which is made from recycled glass. After a long day looking at countertop distributors recommended by our contractor, my husband located what I wanted at All Eco Center. When I told Dave and Oksana what I was looking for, they were excited to show me samples. Both have been genuinely friendly with us. Also they were extremely patient as I debated my choice. My texts were always answered with as much information as I requested. We are very happy with the quality of the materials we purchased from All Eco Design. My house was built in 1937. I wanted to renovate the basement to make it livable fir ab AirBnB. Oh my gosh. What a beautiful job AllEco did! Full disclosure: this was 5 years ago and my basement room is STILL beautiful! Also, much to my joy, the insulation they put in the ceiling is fantastic - my tenants rarely hear a sound from me upstairs and vice versa. This year, when I discovered a gas leak in my old pipes, I checked in with David and even for a small job (small to them, big to me) they came right over and replaced the old pipes in such a beautiful way and did it for an extremely reasonable price. Shocked by the good reviews here. We had our kitchen and bathroom done by this company and SO many mistakes were made. We are one year out and our kitchen floors are buckling in areas, the grout on the backsplash is cracking, tiles and drywall are uneven, cabinet paint chipping (we were forced to use their company cubitac), there was even a nail sticking up from the floor on one area we had to file down. There is no way our kitchen or bathroom is going to hold up for many years. I would advise to stay away! read more

We really enjoyed working with Dave and Oksana at All Eco Design Center. There were some hiccups to our project--we began working with a designer who faced ill health and forgot to order our cabinets. When they hadn't arrived after four months' waiting, Dave discovered he had never ordered them! That was frustrating but it meant we switched to working with Oksana, and she redid the design which turned out fantastic. We were impressed with both Oksana and Dave's enthusiasm for the job, and their strong desire to ensure we were 100% happy with everything. (When I mentioned to Oksana we noticed a little problem 8 months after they finished our job, she had someone over at our house the next day to fix it!) This was our first time renovating, and we did a kitchen, including taking down a wall, and three bathrooms all at once. When problems or mistakes happened, as they always do with jobs like this, Dave responded immediately and the situation was fixed up. All Eco was wonderful at every step. read more

Our neighbors had their master bathroom remodeled and recommended All Eco Center for their customer service and green footprint. After speaking with a number of contractors, designers, and architects, we chose All Eco because they are a small local business, are deeply invested in the community, know the homes in the DC-metro area well, and are truly a one stop shop. From design meetings, to materials advisement and selection, permitting, install, and project management, they are really the total package. The entire team--from painters, plumbers, to project managers--is friendly, accommodating, and customer-service oriented. Their workmanship is top-notch, and the communication is great. If anything, All Eco is doing so much business that they could definitely expand to have more project managers to take the load off of their owner, Dave, who was incredibly hands-on throughout our renovation. You would have thought that our bathroom was the only project on their plate, but when we went in for a meeting, we saw a huge list of other projects (and entire house renovations!) happening simultaneously. I'm not sure if Dave sleeps at night, but morning and evening text updates on our project's status were very much appreciated with my and my husband's busy schedules. With the exception of the vanity countertop, we sourced everything else for the space on our own. All Eco was great about that and guided us through the process. All Eco Design Center just completed a gut renovation of my main bathroom. Everything came out, from floor to ceiling, and everything new went back in. And it is beautiful. It is tempting simply to say: Great work! Completely satisfied! And that's true. But you need to know that every step of the project went wonderfully smoothly. Dave and John Paul are simply great to work with; excellent communication. From getting a good and competitive estimate for the whole project, to getting a detailed printed design/plan, to acquiring all the needed components/fixtures prior to starting. When the work began, the demolition was quick, complete, and without any mess for us the homeowners. The All Eco teams came, did their work, and left, taking the mess with them. They were neat, fastidious, with no grousing about the hill and climb to get to the rear of the house. Also all the teams took thorough and consistent Covid 19 precautions, from start to finish. When the work of putting in all the new materials started, the crews were timely and efficient, no muss and no fuss. When there were questions or glitches, answers were readily gotten and resolved. The basic carpentry, plumbing and electricity went just as planned. But when the final finishes began to be installed, then I was stunned. The quality of the floor and wall tile installation was first-rate, a thing of beauty. The surfaces of the vanity and tub wall were excellent. The painting and caulking, the accessories, all went in easily. The attention to detail in every part of this project was gratifying and reassuring. Simply the best. I can't speak highly enough about my experience with All Eco Center. I found them through Home Advisor and called them to get a quote for renovating and enlarging our small Master Bath. What immediately impressed me about Dave, the owner, was his positive attitude toward my ideas. I wanted to expand the bathroom into a bedroom, knock out a wall, put in a wall and create an upstairs laundry. To each of these requests, Dave replied with "we've done that before" or "that's a great idea, maybe we could..." Where other contractors had told me that what I was requesting was "hard" or "difficult", Dave exuded confidence that they could do it and had already started to collaborate with me. The best thing is that his bid came $7K less than the previous lowest bid. We had already started renovating our basement and bath with another contractor who I had to let go because he wasn't making progress. We would need to have that completed before we started on the upstairs. Though it's All Eco's policy to do the project from start to finish in order to guarantee their work, yes, they have a 1 year guarantee for all their work! They agreed to finish my downstairs bathroom and basement tiled floor. The team started two days later and efficiently finished the project in 9 days, including painting, which I opted for them to do. Next came the big project for upstairs. We met with All Eco's designer, Elena, at their showroom in Silver Spring. She had excellent ideas, a 3-D image which we could make adjustments to. She also suggested materials and product. Though we decided to source our own materials, we greatly benefited from Elena's design approach. They tore through everything creating minimal dust (a very large HEPA filtering device pushed a ton of air out of the house). The demo team, plumbers, construction and electrical were all scheduled with precision. There wasn't a day that they didn't have a team in working the job. Dave is an excellent project manager, and you would have thought that we were the only project he was working on. he communicated with me and his team constantly. He is onsite nearly every day, and available by phone or text at any time of the day or evening. His collaborative approach made the project flow as anticipated. There was never a time when I felt like the project wasn't on track and on budget. The added bonus is that Dave has extensive knowledge in design, structural engineering and architecture. It's like your are getting an engineer, architect, contractor and project manager rolled into one person. We were extremely satisfied with the work of the All Eco Center Team. Shouts out to Rudy, Osman and Feliciano. Everyone on the team was top-notch and performed their work with professional and personal integrity. In the future I will not seek the typical 3 bids for work to be performed. I will just call Dave at All Eco and have his team perform the work. They are honest, ethical, creative and diligent. We recently had the All Eco Center put in some flooring in our condo. We had a few issues with shortage of the materials -- which were handled well and really could be overlooked -- IF my husband and I were happy with the attention to detail of the installation. Samantha was very helpful in answering our questions in choosing a material. As others have mentioned, they have a great selection of materials at reasonable cost, and we went with a Wicanders VinylComfort floor (in Bark Oak, if you care). It is fabulous. Gorgeous, more durable than hardwood or cork, and the cork underneath provides sound and heat insulation. Super happy with our choice. All Eco ordered our materials and I came to pick them up. Once we got them home, we realized the boxes said 19.44 sq ft, while our quote said 22 point something... basically, we were short some material. No problem, All Eco picked up the tab for the new materials and freight, and we brought the two new boxes home as well. After the materials had all had enough acclimation time, we were finally ready to install (It was probably 4-6 weeks from the time we first went into the store until installation day). Yay! We were so excited to see how everything was coming along.... until they were 95% done and there were no more boxes of material left. Oops. Even with the additional order, there wasn't enough material (I should mention Dave came out to measure, so it's not that we gave them an inaccurate number). So they put some cardboard down in the two unfinished areas, taped them up, and ordered us one more box. Again, they paid for it, and this time Samantha delivered the box to us. Took maybe a week or two. Still not a super big deal. What is a big deal to me is the, what I feel, not great attention to detail on the installation. There is one area where shoe molding was taken up and not replaced. Another area where there is molding on one side of a closet door and not the other side. In the closet doors, there is no molding and the floor doesn't meet the the wall, so there are ugly holes.. one of which has underlayment sticking up through it. I understand that we paid a reasonable price for the service, and that our job was likely very small in comparison to many other complicated remodels and commercial projects, but it was a lot of money for us to not be 100% happy. We have a few areas where the floor doesn't feel securely down.... hard to describe, but when you walk on it (or particularly if you jump on it), it feels springy, whereas most of it does not. We really, really wanted to love this place since we're all about environmental sustainability and it's practically our neighbor. I can't say we would definitely NOT use them for future remodels, but we'll definitely look around first. read more

In short, a fantastic green/eco company, staff you will easily call friends, and a quality exceeding their price. Excellent service, extensive options, and all of the materials green and eco-friendly. Being the new owners of a 70 year old home comes with its share of... well some may call them quirks, others may call it "charm", but to us they were problems. The hardwood floors showed their age with splits, gouges, and cracks, which became a trap for dust and pieces of dirt and food. The previous owners put carpet in the bedroom and basement, but opted for the rough, smelly, cheap-o option. Fine for first-time homeowners, but hardly ideal, and we avoided spending a lot of time in our basement due to the smelly carpet. Upgrading these floors would definitely be on the list for anyone wanting to make their house a home. For us, with a baby on the way, it was time to fix up our nest. We did our research. Some places came in astonishingly cheap, promising the fanciest chemicals available and a questionably hasty service - assuming of course that we empty our house of furniture ourselves, pregnant or not, and have no problems breathing in fumes for days or weeks on end. Seeking a non-toxic option, we found the All Eco Design Center, which had wood, cork, tile, and carpet options available for our basement, and could refinish our main floor with water-based sealants. To top it off, they would do our main floor in stages while moving our heavy furniture back and forth, with no effect on the finished floors. That alone was unique in our research of the local flooring companies. We chose a carpet for the basement, basement stairs, and our master bedroom that is so plush and soft, we will have no problem letting our new baby crawl and play on it. The style of carpet we picked felt amazing under foot, could be cleaned with just water, and came in a variety of colors. All Eco Center worked with us to determine the best combination of carpet, padding, underlayment, and whether our basement was at risk for dampness. They even let us borrow a bunch of samples so we could see the different colors in different light and make the right choice. We also discussed with them about adding some baseboard heating (as there is no heat or air conditioning down there) and All Eco offered to install that for us as well! Now that everything has been completed, we're just so pleased with the final result. Our floors look and feel fantastic and the basement is now a main room of the house, where we gladly spend time. When we decide to refinish the upstairs, carpet another bedroom, remodel our kitchen or a bathroom, we're definitely going with All Eco. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for friendly staff who listens to your needs, provides the utmost degree of customer service, and exceeds your home renovation expectations. read more

I looked everywhere for a contractor who could understand the style I wanted (Mexican kitchen with Talavera tiles and a terra cotta floor). Ligia, the designer, worked closely with me to find the materials and to create a beautiful design that truly shines! Dave, the owner, was involved at every step of the process and made sure to respond immediately as issues arose. After tearing out my old cabinets, they even found a slow leak from the bathroom upstairs and repaired it. Then they discovered a vent pipe in back of one cupboard which meant we had to reorder a new pantry to fit. They took care of it all, finished on time, and it looks gorgeous. We have been very pleased with Dave and the All Eco Design team throughout the two renovation projects we have done with them. We discovered All Eco Design because we were looking for a more environmentally sustainable approach to renovating our 1940s Cape house in Silver Spring. We also appreciated that all workers on the All Eco's team have long-term contracts and health care. We felt that this made the company genuinely sustainable. We first worked with All Eco for a significant gut renovation project of our kitchen, dining room, and basement (+ wooden floor sanding and new lightning across the house). Two years later, we asked them to renovate our main bathroom. Since we knew how easy it was to work with Dave and his team, we did not even look for other companies to do this project. We also knew that we could trust Dave and his team to complete the project while we were abroad. It was straightforward to work with the designers to design a great-looking kitchen & dining area and main bathroom. The workers were always kind, efficient, and left a clean site at the end of the day. We were always able to ask Dave for some additional small tasks to be integrated. When there were bad surprises (such as a completely rotten wall behind the 80-year-old siding), Dave and his team proposed concrete solutions that they executed very quickly at very competitive prices. Dave always made sure to solve the problem quickly and at no cost whenever things were a little late or if there were mistakes (usually related to orders & stocks). We worked mostly with Dave, who was consistently friendly and thoughtful, sitting with us for as much time as we wanted to go over our needs. The rest of the staff, including Samantha and Ligia, were reliable, friendly, and gave great advice. The eco-friendly materials were an added bonus to the customer service. The cost was very reasonable considering the high quality work and service. The contractors were very conscientious about our home and our comfort, taking pains to keep the rest of the house clean and free of dust. All Eco's selection of environmentally friendly home improvement materials is excellent. I was shopping for carpeting (I had also bought rubber mat flooring from All Eco in the past), and after comparing with a conventional floor and tile store, I found that there was no comparison between the two when environmental benefits are factored in. The conventional store offered only one kind of carpet that had any eco-friendly qualities, and it had only 30% or so recycled plastic content at that. In contrast, All Eco offered many kinds of carpet, ALL of them eco-friendly. I was excited that they carried several kinds of carpet made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, in other words 100% POST-consumer recycled content. They also offered a nice padding to go with the carpet that was also made with recycled content. And the price of the carpeting was actually significantly lower than that of the semi-eco-friendly carpet at the other store. A win-win. The manager and staff at All Eco were friendly and helpful and a pleasure to work with. The installation of the carpeting by the workers and the leveling of the floor in preparation for the installation went fine after some guidance from the manager Dave and some monitoring on my part. My carpet looks beautiful and classy and feels really nice too. I will go to All Eco again for future home renovations. read more

I can't say enough good things about All Eco. They did a complete kitchen renovation for me about two years ago and it turned out beautiful and functional. I called All Eco last week to inquire about repairing the grout behind the sink which had become cracked from water splashing (and failure to dry it up completely after doing dishes!). Dave responded right away and sent an All Eco worker who replaced all the sealant around the countertop. It looks brand new, and thanks to Dave's research, the color matches exactly. All Eco was a fabulous, friendly, responsive, and cost-conscious resource in the renovation of our basement in our 1940s-era home. The basics: great selection on flooring (we got a beautiful white pearl-colored bamboo), fair prices (they don't carry cheap stuff, but their prices are fair for the high quality), and a good ethos for sustainable home renovations with environmentally-friendly materials. The remarkable people and service: ownership (Dave and his dad, Moe) and staff (client/store manager, Samantha) are friendly, personable, and very responsive to phone calls and e-mails. We sought bids for the flooring renovation and got very detailed estimates covering both materials and labor. We ended up just purchasing the bamboo wood and carpeting from All Eco, and they were completely understanding and friendly about our choice to use other contractors for the labor - absolutely no pressure at all at ANY point in the process - only helpful ideas and design suggestions. They were incredibly accommodating and cooperative with our contractors when necessary. And, it's clear that All-Eco's lead carpenter, Rob (who spent some time measuring/brainstorming design ideas for cabinetry in our basement, but we ended up holding off on that project), is very experienced and detail-oriented. If you can afford All Eco's carpenters/installers/contractors, I would trust that anyone working with or recommended by All Eco would do a fantastic job. All Eco is EXACTLY the kind of eco-minded, customer-focused, down-to-earth shop that is a pleasure to work with. Their price estimates and time projections were all accurate. We also used one of their contractors to turn leftover carpeting into an area rug: the job was done very well, in less than 10 days, for a fair price, and we're very happy with the rug. We chose All Eco Design Center to renovate our 1948 colonial's dining room, galley kitchen and adjacent powder room. We got competitive bids from several companies but were won over by Dave's green values, attention to detail, and low pressure style. During the very first meeting it felt like we had a friend over who just happened to know all about home renovations. That sense of familiarity and trust carried over with Kristen, the designer, Hadi, who deftly managed the 8 week job, and the wonderful crew (shout out to Yesbin, Jesus, Jose, Antonio and Osman!). The work went smoothly, with the team taking great care to contain the dust and mess so that we could live comfortably in the rest of our house. Whenever we had a question or concern, we simply texted Hadi, and he always responded promptly and with a few possible solutions. Bonus: when we unexpectedly adopted two wily kittens halfway through the job, the whole team was gracious and careful. The renovation finished right on schedule and we could not be more happy with it. Our only regret is that we didn't do it sooner.
