Once blue collar scholars took over, the job got on track and communication was perfect. During the permitting, inspection scheduling, framing, and finishing portions of the job. We now have a custom gazebo and a full Trex deck that our whole family loves during the spring, summer and fall months. When it is warm in the winter, we are also out on it as well. They closed all the holes in the walls (no more air coming in) where the old convectors were located; they repaired the flooring so that it looked seamless; and they installed baseboards to mask the gaps left by the new convectors, which were a slightly different size than the previous ones. (The convectors were installed by a different company, so they coordinated with them nicely). They also installed a brand-new lighting fixture on the bedroom ceiling (lots of concrete drilling involved), hung a metal shelf in the bathroom, and closed all the holes in the kitchen left by the previous contractor when the kitchen was remodeled. We went a little over 10% over budget, which is just about what I expected for a project like this, and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually finished a few days early. The work comes with a 3-year warranty too (which we needed in the past and have had no trouble using), which gives extra peace of mind. Each person on the project - Elena the project manager, Juan the site supervisor, Alexa the designer, John the estimator, and especially the lead technician Cornelio was a pleasure to work with. As with any renovation, there are always surprises and hiccups along the way, but the team handled everything professionally, even when I was stressed and occasionally cranky. One thing of particular note was how much the team was willing to work with me when the inevitable surprises came up. There are things that nobody can foresee, which usually results in a change order and extra cost, but then there are those little things where everyone leaves a conversation with a different impression. GE Construction made my vision for my kitchen and dining renovation come to life! This was not an…read moreuncomplicated renovation. The wall between the kitchen and dining contained duct work for both the dining room and upstairs, plumbing was done to the code of 1960 when the house was built, and previous owners/flippers did things in slapdash ways that made the process harder than it needed to be. But at the end of the day, what I sketched out came to life, and beautifully! Andrii and his team worked with all the things I really wanted out of my kitchen (including using existing appliances, so they had to move them around the space a lot while working, and some fancy stuff that is non-standard including that crazy butterfly sink that you see in some of the afters!), worked to bring things current (like moving plumbing off exterior walls, so I no longer have to worry about pipes freezing), and got it done. A total transformation! The price was middling among quotes, and I felt it was a great value since I got quality work and didn't have to do much (like ordering stuff...Andrii always had someone who could get things at a normal/retail price without me doing it). Job completed around our "contingency" finish date, which was only one week more than the "we hope to finish by" date, which is really good for a project of this scope. I am very satisfied, and if I didn't drive them crazy, will be using them for my bathrooms in a few years!

All new flooring, backsplash, cabinets, countertops, and HVAC for a 600 cfm range hood. Alex and his team worked with precision, cleanliness, and professionalism. We're very happy with the outcome of our kitchen. Communication - A kitchen renovation job is a lot of work, time, and communication in between the owner and contractor. Alex does a great job of listening to you and providing good solutions, and makes you feel like you are his only client. Our project required a lot of attention to detail and meticulous planning, and Alex's patience and lighthearted communication style was easy to work with. Reliability - Alex delivered on a lot of things you wouldn't expect from another contractor. He delivered on things that weren't even included in the contract. He hauled away about 200 pounds of cardboard and wooden pallets for us. He patched up walls we didn't ask him to. He offered to hire a cleaning lady to scrub the house once the job was done.
