I just opened a new game store in College Park, Maryland. I needed new flooring, the walls were covered in slat racking that needed removal, and I needed the space painted. I talked to Eric and he was fantastic! He was able to get his team in quickly, the work was performed far beyond anything I'd expected, and both he and his on-site foreman were very responsive. We had two challenges, both of which Eric and his team overcame with speed, quality delivery, and excellent customer service. We were working on a tight timetable, so I was receiving store fixtures while construction was ongoing. Eric and his team were able to work around this without any problems. Second, my initial flooring choice became unavailable between the time I selected it and ordering. When this happened, Eric and I went down to Home Depot together and found another option that looked better, was higher quality, and cost less. I cannot recommend Eric and A&E construction enough! 100% would use again. In fact, I have some upcoming work that I need to do on my home. Eric and his team transformed our house into a dream home. Eric is honest and reliable. The work is top notch and was done within the agreed upon timeline. His team is very nice and the work is amazing. We had 21 different quotes and hands down felt comfortable with Eric. He won't try to price hike after a contract begins, provides detailed updates, and quickly understands what you want. Our project was as close to a gut renovation as you could get without demoing the whole place. The project turned out amazing and was done within 2 months. We moved walls, changed flooring, the entire kitchen, stairs and rail system, new ceilings, paint, trim, and so much more. On top of the great work, he provides a warranty on all his work. After comparing six different contractors, Eric by far was the best one at the time, in terms of knowledge, pricing and quality. I had major renovation project and it was really stressful at the time. I needed to a lot of things done such as kitchen, two bathrooms and create a new master bathroom, add central AC and electric upgrades/ heavy ups. Eric was able to make this happens with my tight budget. Truly I couldn't haven't been happier with the outcome. I always recommend Eric to all of my friends and family. The guys at A&E Construction are the best. They are responsive, creative and thorough. I hired them to build floating bookshelves, put up wallpaper in two rooms, create a niche for storage covered by a barn door and build furniture to contain filing cabinets. They exceeded my expectations. I had lots that I wanted done, and Eric and Chambers thought creatively about how to accomplish it. I'm super happy with how everything turned out. They were also very responsive to my needs and questions. I would text Eric a question about something and he'd respond almost immediately - during the day, at night, on weekends, whenever. They also completed the whole project on a tight timeline while I was away and made sure everything was perfect. Discussions regarding the project (a complete front porch roof rebuild) began on or about January 13, 2025. On January 22, Eric P. promised us "an estimate for the architect's total cost by COB [January 22]." Failing to hear from Eric P., I tracked him down on January 29, and reminded him of his commitment to provide an estimate of project costs, including the architect's fee. After presenting several disassociated numbers with no bottom line in sight, Eric P. promised to call me back by 12 noon on January 30 to discuss the finer details of the "front porch design." It's now February 16, 2025, and after waiting, literally, weeks for a total estimate for the rebuild, we still have absolutely nothing to show for this "engagement," but wasted time. This builder has demonstrated zero respect for the time of potential clients and no sense of urgency for a roof on the verge of collapse (I don't think he has ever inspected the roof). Ironically, my daughter sought to engage his firm through another app for a full bathroom makeover at her home. In light of my experience with A and E, however, she's renewed her search for another design/build firm because she, like me, can't tolerate delinquency, unreliability and procrastination. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer a positive recommendation for this company. read more

I rarely ever write reviews, but I was so impressed, I decided to. I hired A and E Construction for a small bathroom renovation, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The communication from bidding to punch list was outstanding. Eric kept me updated every step of the way, helped work through material selection and value engineer some selections. For the quick summary, look at my before and after pictures. It looks like a completely different house/kitchen... BUT now it's my dream kitchen in my actual house! For the more elaborate details... We had a number of contractors come out to quote us on our kitchen remodel. A couple of things that stood out to us about Eric is that he actually listened and was very familiar with code requirements. Plus he was the owner showing up at my door and I knew he'd feel invested in a good outcome of the project, unlike some of the big companies out there. Our main concern was regarding the water supply lines in our kitchen and how they regularly froze during the winter. We live in a traditional 110 year old DC row home and the kitchen was bumped out a number of years ago, but as we quickly found out, the floors were not insulated, and there was a portion of the wall that was not insulated either. No other contractor suggested doing what Eric's team did. Everything was taken to studs so that proper insulation could be installed, all holes/gaps could be filled, supply lines wrapped, and of course termite damage (!!!) eliminated and wall restored. Can I get an AMEN?! Wait, that's just the beginning. I went back and forth a bit with the floors, but I am soo happy with the tile we ended up with. Eric's best advice was to spend some (or lots) of time on the Houzz app looking through and saving/hearting pictures of my favorite kitchens and then they'd do their best to replicate it. It worked! I found my dream kitchen, shared the image with Eric and Jimmy when selecting cabinets/countertops and now I have my dream kitchen. Also, big shout out to Victor who was at my house everyday doing the physical work. As with any project, there were some things that came up, but we openly discussed the options and decided on the best path forward - very solution oriented approach. Overall, Eric was incredibly responsive and coordinated the various parts seamlessly. Our kitchen has completely transformed our home. The only bad part? Now we want to remodel the rest of the house!! read more

Due to water damage in my basement, I had began researching a reputable company to acquire waterproofing and restoration services. I had contacted A&E Construction and Mr. Eric Persaud, owner, promptly responded to my inquiry and request. Mr. Persaud had personally come out to my home to assess my property and the damages. He was punctual, professional, polite, knowledgeable and super honest. The A&E team had come out to evaluate the scope of work needed to address the flooding issues and had taken the time to explain their findings, very thoroughly and comprehensively addressed my concerns. I was super, impressed at how meticulous this company was in their inspection process. Most importantly, Mr. Persaud and the A&E team did not just explain how and what work needed to be performed, but included me into the discussion, allowing me to provide some input into the process. Most importantly- Mr. Persaud and his crew listened to me and they had shared in the vision to accomplish a positive, outcome and results of the renovation would look like and asked how I felt, allowing me to weigh in on the scope of work that was proposed. Moreover, Mr. Persaud and the A&E crew provided me with a few, effective options that were suitable to my preference and budgetary circumstances, but were realistic and reasonable in addressing the flooding issues and water damages. The scope of work and price proposed was very reasonable as to ensure that A&E would provide the best quality job at an affordable price as opposed to most companies I had worked with in the past that was trying to sell me onto cheap labor in exchange for a low budget, low quality work product/service. I highly, recommend A&E Construction because this company is operated by an honest, professional, and ethical owner and team.
