I walked into Enraku on a Thursday night already vibin' to the music, and lucky me, got seated right away with no reservation. Started my night with the Beautiful Girl Martini (yes, it lives up to the name) and paired it with eggplant fries and shrimp dumplings (a little overcooked, but still snack-worthy). I had my heart set on the stuffed calamari and the Honey Moon Oyster (oyster + uni + ikura + caviar = swoon), but they were sold out. Heartbreak! The server redeemed the night with two surprise margarita shot samples, instant mood lift. Even with a couple misses, the vibes, service, and sushi potential have me hooked. Enraku might just become my new sushi go-to in Fullerton. read more

Enraku - CUCUMBER CUT ROLL - Sushi Bars Near Me - Fullerton, California

I am so happy this restaurant has opened in Downtown Fullerton. The food and drinks are fantastic! The interior is also lovely. My husband and I stopped in for a quick drink and appetizers before attending a party. Jimmy was the bartender and he was fantastic. We enjoyed our drinks. I had the lychee martini, and my husband had the peach blossom. We ordered the sesame chicken and the tornado shrimp. Both were wonderful! These are the perfect appetizers to share at the bar top. The chicken bites were so juicy and full of flavor. The dipping sauce was really good. My husband loved the combination of sauces that came with the tornado shrimp. It has the amount of spicy kick that he prefers. Jimmy had accidentally put in an order for something we didnt order, so he gave us a bottle of sake as an apology. That was very kind and we enjoyed the sake. We will definitely be back!! This is now part of our rotation. read more

Had dinner at Enraku in Fullerton and it ended up being one of the best meals I've had in a while. We ordered a ton of food and honestly lost track of everything that came out. I was so focused on eating that I forgot to take photos of most of it, which says a lot. The highlight for me was the smoked tuna dish. It was perfectly balanced with a deep smoky flavor that didn't overpower the fish. You could tell they put care into the preparation and presentation. The scallop with uni on top was another standout. The scallop was fresh and buttery, and the uni added a rich, briny flavor that made the whole bite melt in your mouth. It was the kind of dish you slow down to enjoy. I asked about getting a smoked old fashioned even though it wasn't on the menu. They had all the ingredients, so I figured I'd ask. Instead of brushing it off, they actually made it happen. The drink came out perfectly smoked with a nice balance of sweetness and bite. That kind of service really stood out to me. The kids loved the bulgogi rice, and it was nice to see them finish their plates. Everything came out hot and well-seasoned. The service was friendly and attentive without hovering, and the vibe in the restaurant was relaxed but still felt special. Enraku is one of those places that surprises you with how consistent and thoughtful the food is. I left full, happy, and already planning what to order next time. read more

i'm so glad i found this hidden gem in fullerton came here expecting just a casual sushi spot but it's actually sooo much better than i thought. the sashimi is super fresh and high quality! literally melts in your mouth. the salmon has this slightly smoky flavor that makes it stand out so much their uni pasta is a MUST. it's creamy, rich, and honestly one of the best things i've had here. i also love that they have a lot of japanese fusion dishes, so even if you don't eat raw fish there are still plenty of options. everything looks cute and tastes just as good read more

The food is amazing but the music is INSANELY too loud. It's Sunday, 5pm and our server couldn't even hear us give our order. He was nice enough to lower the music but someone turned it back up. A customer let his kids stand on the counter that plates and trays are put on which was absolutely disgusting. I saw two servers look and not say anything. I'd be back if the music wasn't so obnoxiously loud. read more

Enraku - Dirty shoes on counters where trays & food are placed... rude and gross! - Sushi Bars Near Me - Fullerton, California

Actually 3.5 stars. Some hits: Motsu Nabe - Very good and full of flavor. You have to be ok eating intestines. The menu said it had tripe but I don't remember ours having any. The broth was excellent. For the size it would have been nice to have more protein as the dish was mostly cabbage. Saba Bouzushi - Simple but tasty. Loved the seaweed. Average: Fried corn and eggplant fries. Wasn't bad but don't think I'd order either again. Bad - Scallop with uni. This was terrible and really expensive. It didn't taste fresh and it was very bland. Service was not good. It was slow and hard to get the attention of the servers. They came a few times to ask how everything was going but it took a long time to get someone's attention to ask for the check. This is more of a Korean Japanese restaurant so not super authentic. This is not that close to me and it's not really worthy of the drive to return. read more

Very good! Great selection of apps, sushi, rice, noodles. There is a full bar selection as well. Services was great as well

Well, it's a nice place overall, but the experience was disappointing. The food was okay, but not really authentic. The service was lacking--there didn't seem to be enough staff. I waited a long time for just one dish, and no one came to check on customers. When I was ready to pay, I had to walk to the front desk, and even then, there was no one there to help. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. The overall experience was pretty poor. read more

Enraku did not disappoint! We were seated right away, and every dish hit the mark: fresh ingredients, great quality, and beautiful presentation. The servers were super friendly and quick, and their recommendations were spot-on (you can tell they really know the menu). They even went the extra mile to make each plate look stunning. Everything tasted as good as it looked. I had to pause mid-bite just to appreciate it (and I wasn't the only one. A customer sitting a table away literally clapped for the chef lol) Service, food, and atmosphere all came together perfectly. Whoever had the aux played my favorite throwbacks and really made it a wonderful vibe. Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here and can't wait to come back! read more

Terrible staff and wannabe supervisors: Waited 20 min for service and the 40 min later and zero food while about 3 parties that were sat after me were all served and finishing their food. Complained and was told they were working on food , staff refused to give me mangers name, chuckled and said I need to go online to contact managers. Absolute FAIL, staff is rude and management should be transparent and should make their info available for customers who have issues. read more

We have been to the new Enraku several times. It used to be Chomp. They have a new menu that does include most of the old items and some new ones. Great fresh fish and the sushi chefs ( Charlie & Kevin) are the best! Also, they kept happy hour which we're happy about. I wish they would bring Sunday brunch back! read more

Came here for new years. Good solid sushi. Uni is expensive but that's expected Would come again.

Worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant in a while. Our initial waiter missed my order and we had to flag down two different people to confirm. No one checked on us even once during the entire meal and the bill took forever. The food was fine but not worth the horrible service at a sit-down restaurant at this price point. The booths were freezing. read more

OMG love love love this place! It's soooo cute, service was fantastic, ambiance/interior is on point, food was plentiful in variety and quantity, and prices were great! Parking was easy when we came here, and I'll definitely come back! Bonus is they do a discount of their chefs' rolls! read more

Food and ambiance was great! Has this old Asian aesthetic to it which makes the vibes amazing! Food was solid! Had the tornado shrimp and calamari as appetizers, and completely took advantage of the buy one, get the 2nd 50% off and got two rolls! Fish is fresh and doesn't taste fishy at all! Would definitely recommend for a casual lunch/dinner or bring a date! I have to try the lunch bentos next time! read more

The staff brings your experience over the top with a hello when you walk in the door, very helpful and patient when ordering and ready to make your dinner unforgettable. This restaurant is special in our family. We have had many wonderful meals here. Celebrating anniversaries, birthdays and our son's send off to the US ARMY. When it comes to Japanese food, it's either pricey Michelin spots or budget-friendly conveyor belt sushi. At regular Japanese restaurants, if you just want noodles, it's always either udon or ramen Honestly, I'm so over it. Today I'm sharing another hidden gem: Enraku Sushi. To say it's low-key isn't exactly true--it's right in downtown Fullerton. But compared to the rest of Orange County, Fullerton does feel a little under the radar 1 Uni Pasta It's rare to find this at Japanese restaurants--there aren't many places in OC that serve it. Super happy this place does, and it's delicious! The uni isn't fishy at all, and the cream sauce is rich and flavorful. 2 Scallop Uni I order this appetizer every time. Absolutely stunning--the uni and scallop blend together perfectly. It has a slightly tangy taste that really whets your appetite! 3 Smoked Salmon Sushi This black truffle smoked salmon sushi is amazing! In photo 6's gif you can see the smoke wafting out when the lid is lifted--such a vibe. The salmon is on the fattier side, and paired with the smoky flavor, it's just so fragrant and tasty. read more

To be very honest, the sushi is really good..BUT.. The service is so bad. They aren't attentive, never come back to ask if we're okay, takes them 30 min to make their rounds especially when it's not even packed lol. I had to get up and get my own chop sticks & napkins numerous times. The dishes are dirty sometimes and you have to ask many times to get new dishes.. I had to call the front desk to come to our table for the check and the guy just laughed then said yea.. MIND YOU THEY ARENT EVER PACKED. If that's the case hire more people. read more

This place was highly recommended by an IG influencer so hubby & I wanted to give it a try & dined here last weekend for late lunch. We walked in & got seated right away. I realized this spot took over the previous place called the "chomp" which brings back memories as I've dined there multiple times a decade ago & the ambiance hasn't changed much as for the seating arrangement but the decor is different which feels more modern & nice. Place is clean & spacious with plenty of seating. Service was polite & attentive throughout the entire time. Their menu offers many different variety of options to choose from & not just sushi or sashimi. They also have yakitori & pasta dishes as well. We started off with shishito peppers which is one of my fav appetizers to munch on while waiting for the main dish. The peppers were flavorful with a spicy kick. We also had a beer each which was served in an icy cold glass & later had hot sake. Price for the drinks was such a steal! You buy one beer & get the 2nd one for $1 & the same goes for the sake as well! You can't beat this deal. For the main dish, we had the Umi premium sashimi which included 24pcs of chef's choice & assorted sashimi. Everything on the platter was excellent & super fresh. I'd definitely order it again. We also had sweet shrimp, Uni, & I forget the name of the other fish but it was Oishi. Loved the Uni, sweet shrimp & the crispy head. Always my go to whenever I order sushi. The Uni melted in my mouth except the seaweed was soggy & not as crisp as I would've liked it. I look forward to coming back to try their other nigiri & uni pasta next time. read more

Our first visit was amazing! The service was fast and the staff checked in on us several times. We loved the experience so much that we knew we would be coming back. Last week we decided to return, but unfortunately the experience was very different. The service was really slow and hardly any staff checked in on us. I understand that it was a Friday and they were busy, but our server didn't inform us that orders were backed up or that the food might take longer to come out. There was about a 20-minute gap between the first meal arriving and the second one. We had to ask at least three times for the status of our food. On top of that, one server kept messing up my husband's special sushi order. He only ordered three pieces, yet had to come back 3 times to ask over and over again which sushi he wanted. Overall, it was an unpleasant second visit. We'll have to think about whether we'll come back again. read more

Fresh food, nice assortment of chef special rolls and good menu overall. Solid choice!

Stopped by thinking I was going to my regular spot but they rebranded to Enraku. Honestly, it's just almost the same but even better. This place has always been a vibe with great music and amazing service. I really enjoyed their promotions which I'm glad they didn't get rid of. Can't beat the price for Buy One, Get One 50% off special rolls. My lunch visit was nothing but delightful. They did update the menu but most of the items remain the same. What I was looking forward to was the newer items as I like to adventure off into curiosity. My newer choices consist of yuzu salmon tartare, Uni pasta, Motsu Nabe (a must have), Tepan style Hot stone (all time favorite), Double salmon roll, Cho Roll, Burrata Caprese and Saba Bouzushi. All the dishes had their own sense of style and not too heavy. Portion is large enough to feed a family of 4. Nothing was out of balance and the saltiness was just right. Special note I would like to make is the Saba Bouzushi and Motsu Nabe. These two tend to sale out quick so get it before dinner time. Highly recommend and definitely coming back. read more

This was a cute spot with really yummy sesame Karaage chicken. Came here for lunch with my parents and family friends, and opted for the vegetable udon. They have bento meals that seem like good deals if you'd like some variety. We had some calamari and the aforementioned sesame chicken Karaage to share for the table and they were pretty filling. All the reviews are for the closed Chomp Sushi. I've been here a few times when it was known as Chomp but since this is under new management, we decided to give it a try to see what's different or new. We visited around noon on MLK day. We were greeted promptly and seated but as we were guided to our table, we noticed that the greeter and the sushi chefs were all the same. Nothing's changed as far as decor goes. The menu items have changed a little bit. So after we got seated and got our water from the same guy who seated us, we waited for our server....and waited....and waited. We tried stepping out of the area where we were seated but only noticed one server and couldn't flag her down. We looked around and there was one girl and we continued to wait. After about 15 o 20 minutes, we decided to leave. As we left, we still only observed one server. So not fault of the server and there were quite a few patrons but they were severely understaffed. read more

What a find!! I can't stress enough how good this place is. The staff - the person that helped us, I wish I asked for her name, was so kind and was genuinely happy to help us. Always smiling; it made our experience that much better. Generally, everyone we interacted with was kind and really wanted to be there. The vibes - so comfortable, great seating, the lighting is perfect, the decor is on point - we were sat in one of the booths nestled in along the glass - you can see outside, it was awesome! The service - super prompt, we barely waited to get our food - water came for everyone immediately after we sat - we didn't even have to ask. The food - the presentation makes you want to immediately dig in. Then you take the first bite and it's delicious; you go in again, and you just enjoy every bite. Simply delicious, high quality food. We are so happy we found this place. I hope it doesn't change. read more
