The 6.8 KW (peak) solar system that these folks installed for me really rocks! So if you are…read moreplanning to install a solar system, look no further and hire this company. I say this because I did my homework right and had obtained over six estimates, and this company beat all the other five not only on price and quality, but also on other (rather important) things as you can see below. 1. Price: This company beat all the others by nearly 20%, and all the other five estimates came very close to one another to the point where I was suspecting that there is some sort of illegal "price fixing" that is rampant industry-wide, but not for this company since it came far away (and below) all the others. 2. Equipment Quality: The system they installed was the most advanced compared to all the other bids. It used higher-end Panasonic panels, and Enphase micro-inverters and combiner. Others bid for lesser-quality no-name panels with one string inverter and a set of optimizers. After much research, I think a micro-inverter based system is superior to the string-inverter based system (so don't listen to the confusing information you find on the web, which portrays the two types of systems as being "equivalent"). So with a total of just 20 panels, my projected annual solar energy production should be about one and a half times my consumption. This should bring down my PG&E bill to the minimum $10/month, and should be able to provide all the electric energy needed for an extra electric car I may purchase in the future. 3. System design: This company had the most precise and realistic design, and that is very important because some of the bids I received were not realistic as they sketched more panels on my South-facing side of the roof than that side could possibly fit. This inflates the projected energy production, but is NOT realistic. In my case, the optimal design was to use the Southern-facing and Eastern-facing sides of the roof and to arrange the panels 50/50 on both sides. This company nailed the design right, but other bids like I said was either plain wrong, or were not realistic. With this design I was able to get a peak production of 6.2 KW, which is close to the theoretical 6.8 KW peak (the difference being mostly due to the orientation of my house). 4. Consumption and Net Monitoring: Most contractors let you monitor ONLY the energy production of your solar system, but this company gave me the ability to monitor the CONSUMPTION of energy by my house and the net energy exchanged between me and utility company on an instantaneous basis (actually every 15 minutes) and on the same Enlighten App as shown in the picture. This is really useful if you would like to do any energy planning in your house to see who/what is really consuming electricity. Granted that you can see the consumption on your utility website, but that data is one or two days delayed and does not show up in the same view as the production, and these two problems make the data from the utility company useless for that purpose. 5. Other: All the folks of the company I have dealt with are ethical in their dealing and are reasonable. The company installed the system in two days, which is very quick. Getting the consumption monitoring to work correctly took a while longer though.

My 7.54kW system used 29 - 260W LG panels split into 2 arrays and utilized both M215 and M250 Enphase microinverters. The reason I wanted to try 2 different microinverters was to compare the performance. In the end, it really didn't matter much. Bottom line, shading and weather were the dominate factors in power generation and all the crazy details I looked at were in the noise. It was still fun at the time. So 6+ years after having this system installed on my roof, I have had ZERO problems (kudos to LA Solar Group and the quality of the hardware). My system has produced over 72 MegaWatt-Hours of power and each and every solar panel and microinverter has reported data (input voltage/current, output voltgae/frequency, and power) from day one over that period of time. This telemetry allows me to see exactly what's going on in my system and if any one of the 29 panel/microinverters acts up, I will know. My system has already paid for itself based on my calculations, so I am a very happy customer. In addition, when I have questions for the LA Solar team, I still get answers. Highly recommended. With the cost of solar dropping in price over the years, it's really a no-brainer.

To whom this may concern,…read more I dealt with 7 solar installers in the Las Vegas area and for price and customer service excellence, I chose Today's Energy Store! They have performed their work flawlessly and with updates daily, for which I could not be more pleased. Not only the great quality of their craftmanship, but their customer service and attention to detail from the Director of Sales, Bill Doublas, to the Customer Service Manager, Lynne Lehne. They always kept me updated on the status of my process, the panels location, the review dates from NV energy, their installation dates, and connection steps afterwards. They explained to me in advance what work they were going to performed and - respectfully - suggested an alternative for the best overall solution on my home!! I also had the opportunity to interact with Mark, the owner and he had the same quality of service and patience with me as all his crew. I have been in customer service for over 10 years, whereas I do finance at this time, and I can let you know, with peace of mind, that you will be hard-pressed to find the quality of crafmanship and customer care in another shop within the Las Vegas area, while their prices are extremely reasonable!! I suggest that you give them a call and suggest to ask for an estimate and validation of my thoughts and words above. Kind regards, Gabriel C.

We had Sunpower photovoltaic cells on our last home for over twelve years and they are producing…read morepower as if they were new. When it came time for solar panels on our new home Sunpower was our first choice. This is an American company that stands behind it's products with a 25-year bumper-to-bumper warranty. The new panels are cleaner and more efficient. The micro inverters are mounted on the back of each panel for individual monitoring of energy production. The reason I contacted Today's Energy Store is because they have achieved their Master Dealer Designation. It's important to chose wisely when working with a solar company. This investment will be working hard for you every day and you need to be able trust the company to take care of every detail from design, permits, installation and bird proofing your system. Everything was included. Our first contact was with Martin, our system designer. He has vast knowledge of solar projects and guided us through the process including financing. Our city and HOA permits were all handled. We appreciate Martin's help and guidance. If we had questions he was always there to answer them. Our install team included the owner Marc. Marc has over 35 years of construction experience and we knew we were in good hands. Justin is the Project Coordinator and took care our electric work and connections. These items were all taken care of with an organized approach. He set up his work station at my electrical panel and methodically began his work. The install of all conduit to my panels are clean with no conduit running over the edge of the roof but through the attic instead. This makes the installation clean and appears to floating on our roof. This takes more time and effort but I love the look of it. Justin also was here when the City of Las Vegas inspected our install. This is a very important part of an installation. A good working relationship with the inspector is a must. The system passed the inspection because it was installed with skill and excellent workmanship. Colby, the City inspector, was pleased with the project. He checked my electrical panel and went on the roof to look at our panels. Our installers were Luis, Chris, Nick. The roof mounts for the rails were installed under our roof tiles and it all looks very clean. The rails are black powder coated and they also look very clean. The last step was our critter/bird proofing for the panels. This is really important to protect your investment. Pigeons and rodents will nest under your panels and cause major problems. This was included in our install and it really looks clean and well done! Justin and Neal took care of this important piece of business! Peace of mind is priceless and working with Today's Energy Store is a rewarding experience. I recommend them for your solar projects.

DO NOT USE I wanted…read moreto buy a full system outright. The salesman, Chance, was amazing and walked me through the quote, inspection and was very responsive. He assured me the $500 deposit was refundable up until they needed to pull permits. I paid the deposit and it was through a different company. What? waited for the inspection and nothing. After several weeks Chase said he was laid off. I was put in contact with Sam. We'll call him full of s*it Sam. Said I needed a new roof and the agreement said there was no refund for the deposit, conflicting Chase. He agreed they would review the recorded call and a manager would contact me. I've tried repeatedly to contact them again and have been officially brushed off and never received anything. No refund or call back.. Also, Chase and I responded on calls and text on a cell phone. Was that recorded?? They push you and tell you whatever they can to get that deposit and then Push you for a new roof and if you try to push back, they're gone With your money.

I wanted to post a quick follow-up to my earlier review. After I shared my concerns about the…read morenon-disparagement clause in the contract, I got a call from Solar Optimum's Director of Sales. He was professional and respectful, and took the time to explain their side of the clause. They're not trying to silence honest feedback across the board -- they're asking for 45 days to fix any issue before someone goes public with a negative review. I appreciate the clarification, but this is still an effort to silence consumer's right to free speech, which is something I take very seriously. I work with several brands that compete in various marketplaces, and this is a tactic I would never endorse. The clause, as written, sends the wrong message. It's written in very strong legal language, and yes, it absolutely reads like a threat. Telling a customer that their warranty could be voided over a "disparaging" comment -- even one that's truthful -- feels more like protecting the brand at the expense of the customer's rights. If a company's service is great and they handle problems with integrity, their customers won't feel the need to "disparage" them in the first place. To be clear, I otherwise had a good experience with Solar Optimum during the proposal stage, but ultimately decided not to sign due to what I consider to be a big red flag. I have no reason to believe that the positive reviews here are not genuine. I just have to assume that part of the reason they seem to out-index the rest of the industry is due to this type of tactic. I don't have a crystal ball - but the solar industry seems to be littered with companies who deal in deceptive practices, so if you want to be the "good guy", then you should have confidence that your customers will advocate for you. This isn't personal -- it's a broader concern about consumer rights. If you're thinking about signing with any solar company (not just this one), read the contract carefully, ask questions, and make sure your voice doesn't come with fine print attached.
