First off, I would like to say this is the cutest little shop that actually serves a menu consisting of carnival foods! I came in and really fell in love with the decor and menu. I ordered a mini "fresh cut strawberries" funnel cake ($5) and added a scoop of their organic Madagascar vanilla ice-cream ($2) and when they served it to my table, I was impressed! I really appreciated how they served it with actual fresh cut strawberries and not that fake syrupy crap they serve at a carnival. You also get to customize your own corndog with a sausage of your own choice (they also have vegetarian options). So, my friend got a hot link corndog. I got to have a few bites and it was delish! Review #042 - 2018 After our dinner at Larb, the kids were complaining that they were still hungry so I told them about this place and showed them the pictures from Yelp & they were super hyped about wanting to try it. Joshua ordered the polish dog, which he pretty much devoured in less than a minute. The kid can eat without taking a breath, not sure who he got that from. Definitely not from me! LOL I wanted to try the funnel cake, but I knew for sure that I wouldn't be able to finish one on my own so I made Joshua help me, which he had no problem doing. I asked for the caramel and powdered sugar one, because I like caramel in my dessert...if no one has already noticed. The caramel is a dollar extra. I thought the funnel cake was very well made. Super fresh so it was nice & crunchy! My nephews ordered the deep fried Oreos and a funnel cake, with some type of glazed/fried bananas, powdered sugar and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They both enjoyed what they ordered. I guess they were still hungry after dessert, because they decided to order a polish dog and a hot dog to go as well. First off, I have to commend whomever came up with this concept. Branding a whole restaurant based off of carnival food? That's as American, nostalgic, and obscure as it gets; you won't find anything like it in Berkeley. I have been here numerous times already. The staff is incredibly nice, always accommodating for whatever requests we make and are just lovely human beings. As for the food, there is quite a number of selections to quench that nostalgia: cotton candy, caramel apples, loaded hot dogs (vegetarian option too!), fries, etc. But I think the stars of the show are the funnel cakes, popcorn, and milkshakes, personal faves of mine. The selection of popcorn is great, with all-time favorites like Kettle Corn and Caramel covered. The funnel cakes, although not as good as ones in amusement parks (i.e. Knotts Berry Farm), are really good on their own. What is good though, is the whip cream you can get with a shake or funnel cake. This is a non-hyperbole: they make THE BEST whip cream ever. No contest. The mini pecan funnel cake ($6 after tax) was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Topped with the most flavorful, thick homemade whipped cream. I would have honestly eaten a plate of the whipped cream by itself. Other sweet offerings include deep fried oreos, milkshakes, caramel apples, kettle corn, and cotton candy. They also sell corn dogs, hot dogs, and fries for the full carnival experience. These offerings make Endless Summer one of the most unique dessert shops I've ever been to. If you're in Berkeley and want a dessert that isn't the typical ice cream or cupcake, hop on one of the many buses running down Shattuck (parking seems hard) and check this place out! It's the perfect snack after a long night out, Endless Summer is open pretty late on Friday and Saturday nights. Located in Downtown Berkeley off of Shattuck Ave, Endless Summer Sweets has all of your favorite carnival treats! From funnel cakes to cotton candy, this place will make you feel like a kid again. I randomly had a craving for a funnel cake one day and I remembered one of my employees telling me about this place in Berkeley. I decided to make the trek down to Berkeley to check it out. The parking is terrible around Downtown Berkeley as most probably already know. I wasn't planning on staying too long and it was after 6:30, so just parked in the lot located behind the store (Chase parking lot). I definitely wouldn't recommend this parking for long term because they close off the gate at a certain time. My nose was met with the smell of sweetness when I entered. I observed the goodies that were out on display; cotton candy, flavored popcorn, caramel apples. I just wanted it all! As if that wasn't enough... I couldn't decide on what I wanted because of their extensive MENU! Funnel cakes, hot link sandwiches, corn dogs, nachos, French fries, deep fried oreos, milkshakes, ice cream sundaes... overwhelming is an understatement. The gentleman at the counter (I think he might have been the owner) made some suggestions and chatted with me for a bit before I decided on what I wanted. He was really helpful and pleasant. I decided to get a corndog, French fries, and a mini funnel cake with caramelized apple. While I waited, I was given a large carafe of water and a glass. Love this concept and I wish more places would do this! I noticed the beautiful signage that was composed of wall art. There is a lot of seating inside with the option of booths, tables, or bar stools. I sat on a bar stool right in front of the window overlooking the outside since I was dining solo. The corndogs here are HUGE! They are just like the ones at the fair if not bigger and better! At first glance, it appeared that the corndog might have been a little overcooked and possibly burnt. However, once I took my first bite, I realized that it was deep fried perfectly! It had the perfect amount of crisp and crunch. I LOVE extra crispy corndogs, so this worked out perfectly. The fries were pretty good and kind of reminded me of In-n-out's fries but thicker and saltier. They're a little heavy handed with the salt here. I would probably tell them to keep it light on the salt next time around. The owner offered to make my funnel cake after I was done eating, and it didn't take too long before it was done. I must say... that funnel cake was all that and a bag of sugar! The funnel cake was warm and crispy, the caramelized apples were very sweet, and the whipped cream and powdered sugar were the perfect icing on the cake! I can't believe that I no longer have to go to the fair to get my favorite carnival food goodies! Negative Stars! As soon as I walked in I noticed dirty floors and I saw a huge pincher-bug thing crawling against the wall. Before that I saw the cashier actually touch the food with the same unwashed hands she used to handle the money. Yuck! I'd go elsewhere. The stale funnel cakes are not worth it. Update!: My phone autocorrected a "he" to a "she" and all of a sudden I'm being accused of being part of a conspiracy...wow now unprofessional management can be added to my review. I decided not to order after seeing the cashier touch a customers hot dog after handling money! Although I do not have to explain myself,the stale funnel cake I ate was last summer. This restaurant had a really cute interior, complete with pink walls and a one of those fun house mirrors. The decor, like the tables and even the trash cans, had a carnival vibe. We were pretty full, so the three of us decided to share a regular funnel cake with apple and ice cream. This came out to around $12. The funnel cake was way smaller than I expected, but tasted really good. It was crunchy and fluffy and the sweetness of the apple and syrup was balanced out by the ice cream. I'm not normally a fan of whipped cream, but the whipped cream here is a bit thicker and creamer and really good Overall, I left feeling very satisfied. They make the funnel cake right when you order, as well as the nachos and the fried oreos. Just like at a real fair, the meal is made just for you! I ordered the mini banana funnel cake and my friend ordered the strawberry funnel cake. The best things come in threes, and my opinion on this funnel cake is definitely the best: 1) The price was good! ~$5 for funnel cake off season and so conveniently located??? Love it! 2) The funnel cake itself was perfect. Not too crispy, not too soft, and hardly any excess oil despite literally having been dipped in oil only minutes before. 2) The whipped cream was like eating a cloud. I normally hate hate hate whipped cream, but Endless Summer Sweets makes theirs fresh. It's thick and creamy and sweet in a natural way. When my friend (who also hated whipped cream) said that this place had good whipped cream, I didn't believe her. I will never make that mistake again. Endless Summer Sweets was my weekly spot to go to when I lived in Oakland. I still crave it from time to time now that I'm living on the other side of the tunnel. I was able to place my order online and pick the time I wanted to grab my food. I decided to give myself 30 minutes and pick up at 7:30 PM to get to Berkeley from Walnut Creek and also find parking. I found plenty of parking right by Dollar Tree which is only a minute walk from Endless Summer. When I walked close to the restaurant I was so thankful to have placed an order beforehand. The restaurant was super busy and had several customers waiting to place orders or pick up (glad to know others enjoy this place). I walked in and my order was on the counter ready. I was already aware of this as I got a text letting me know the food was ready which I thought was very convienent. My food was still super warm when I got home after my 25 minute drive. My favorite items to get from here are the cotton candy, deep fried Oreos, hot Cheetos elote, funnel cake, and the hot dog. It's honestly super hard to come here and just get one thing as they really are creative with putting a twist on carnival foods we all love. I also enjoy the atmosphere inside the restaurant as there is a fun house mirror and the pink walls fit the carnival asthetic. Currently there is no indoor dining most likely due to the smaller space they have and their high volume of orders. Located close to Berkley campus, this little store is cute and carnival themed! They have a showcase full of different types of popcorn towards the front (you get free bags once in a while if you sign up for updates/newsletters) and the deco is bright. The shop itself is pretty small, but it's a dessert shop so I imagine plenty of people take it to go. I got funnel cake, some chicago mix popcorn, and fried oreos. The funnel cake was crispy on the outside, super hot, freshly made, and not too oily! The chicago popcorn was a mix of cheddar and caramel and the caramel was very heavily coated - which I wasn't a huge fan of, since it made the popcorn not as crunchy. The fried oreos came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a scoop of thick whipped heavy cream.
