Ordered through Uber eats and the food traveled pretty well. I ordered their steak & scallop Teppanyaki plate and the baked salmon roll. The baked salmon roll was meh. They added lemon and some weird honey sauce on top which I think the roll would've been much better without. The steak & scallops were delicious! Sauces came packaged separately which was great. The portion was HUGE and included fried rice (upgraded for extra charge), roasted zucchini and mushrooms, grilled onions, 4 medium sized pieces of scallops, and a generous portion of steak. I ordered the steak medium but I suggest ordering a notch less cooked if you are ordering take out. A lot of teppanyaki places have really gone downhill in terms of taste and quality. But both times I came to Encore, everything tasted excellent! The chefs can really cook, and are also nice/funny. My friend and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a table with Alec as our server. Don't get me started on Alec. His charisma is contagious which fueled great vibes throughout our experience here. He recommended a great range of handcrafted cocktails but the lavender coconut margarita was top tier! He even told us that he created it! We also ordered the NY strip hibachi. Definitely my go to teppanyaki place where I want to order from sushi or some surf and turf. Different than the typical teppanyaki place, this place is clean and doesn't have the sticky oily table and chairs, and the place is more modern than others teppanyaki. I originally wrote a review for Encore back in 2017. I originally gave 3 stars, I now give it 5. At the time I really hoped that this restaurant would succeed as Diamond Bar really needed a restaurant like this. Well fast forward to 2024 and needless to say I am so happy that Encore has been a mainstay. They survived Covid and have long since ironed out growing pains they had back in the beginning. The food is excellent. I love their Chicken Fried rice and and all the entrees. Service has been consistently good now for a long time. My wife and I go to Encore an average of once a month, consistently. We will continue to go as it is a mainstay in our restaurant selection. It's everything you could ask for a neighborhood spot. read more

They have an awesome discount from their app. The food is pretty good as well as their presentation. Customer service is really good! I'd ordered fried shrimp, steak, and scallops meals. We came here because I got a gift card so we decided to try it out. We made a reservation through Yelp but arrived early. Luckily on a Sunday night, it isn't busy. We decided to pass on sitting at the hibachi grill and just sat at a table. Anywhere you sit, you can enjoy the show. Everyone that worked there was great and attentive but not much of a fan of the food. First, we ordered two plates of sushi: Rainbow and Crispy Breaded Cali rolls; and some Garlic Edamame. I wasn't a fan of the rainbow rolls because the salmon wasn't as pink and had a brown tint to it. I was a fan of the Crispy Breaded Cali roll. It had a great taste and tasted fresh. The presentation was great too. The garlic edamame also had a great taste and the garlic on it made it that much better. For our entrees, we ordered the filet mignon, teriyaki chicken, and chicken katsu hibachi. Again, the presentation was great but the food not so fresh. Overall, it was a great opportunity to introduce my son to sushi even though he wasn't a fan. All in all, I do not think we will be back. read more

The food was delicious. I ordered the filet and shrimp. I was there with a business gathering and in a private dining area. The Teppan chefs were friendly and so was the wait staff. The waitress made sure our order for drinks and food was taken promptly and she checked back in to refill the drinks during our meal. They have a small bar area With beer, wine, spirits and sake. My only disappointment is the lack of exhaust system. Our room was so full of smoke from the Teppan cooking , it was difficult to breathe. My hair and clothes smelled of butter , garlic and smoke for days ! Even after rushing home to shower and change. I suggest updating the exhaust or simply installing one. read more

Came by to grab some dinner tonight to celebrate an anniversary, and made a reservation for 2 via Yelp first. Initially we wanted to try the teppanyaki, but when we arrived we were told that it would be a 45 minute wait for either of the seating options. With that said, we ended up choosing to sit at the regular tables which were stranglely positioned around the teppanyaki tables. It didn't provide much privacy for our party and made it feel uneasy. The menus are on each table via QR code so that's one thing to know when dining in. Additionally, our server told us at the beginning of our dining experience that they knew we were celebrating a anniversary and said that they would bring a little dessert at the end, which never was brought to us :( plus towards the end of our meal we just didn't see the same server again, not sure where she went. -- Service - 3/10 staff was nice at the beginning, however throughout our the meal they were quite forgetful and didn't come by as we tried waving them down. We ordered a coke and that never arrived however it was on the bill, so we are waiting for a refund for that in a few days. After we paid the bill, and gave a decent tip, the staff just completely ignored us when we asked for a receipt and didn't get one, and the complimentary dessert that never came :( Also the servers kept changing so it was a bit confusing. Ambiance - 6/10 lighting is a bit dark, but we were seated at a regular table and it wasn't as private a bit awkward as we were on the outskirts of the tempan seating. Additionally it was very smoky inside and it didn't seem like there was much ventilation. Also the entrance was a bit awkward as when we walked in no one was at the front and a few servers just walked by looking as us as if we walked into the wrong place. -- Truffle Salmon - 1/10 this was not good. The slices of the salmon were extremely thin, and fishy. You could taste the yuzu in the sauce, but absolutely no truffle taste. These 6 thin pieces were $15, so I wouldn't recommend ordering this. Sashimi Adventure - 5/10 this was the largest sashimi option so we wanted to give it a try. It had an assortment of fish and honestly was just alright. Most of the sashimi was quite fishy and the lemon slices and sauces only kind of cover the taste, but it was noticeable in the texture. From this $55 entree only the raw shrimp and butter fish were fresh and tasty. Also they didn't share exactly what kinds of fish was served so we kinda guessed besides the obvious ones. For the 30 pieces, the slices are quite thin and small portion. For the price of $55, I don't think it was quite worth it in addition to the quality. Presentation was nice though. Spicy Tuna Tar Tar - 7/10 this one was the best of the dishes, however the plating was a bit difficult to eat without a spoon. We were given blue corn chips with this, which were tasty, and interesting with this entree. For $10 this was a shareable and decent appetizer. Raw Alaskan Roll - 5/10 we ordered this to try a roll, but were not too pleased with the taste. It's basically a roll with spicy imitation crab meat with a carrot (was flavored but didn't go well with the roll) and topped with a super tiny piece of salmon. That being said, the taste was off... not exactly sure how to explain it but a California roll with salmon on top would've been better. -- Overall experience was quite disappointing. I wanted to come and give this local restaurant a try, and from the samples from here that we received before it was good, so I'm not sure why the dine in experience and food did not match. We were not happy with the experience in general and food. Additionally, it seemed as if the restaurant was trying to be both a dinner show experience, bar (sake bombs being announced), and an intimate dining place all at inceThis restaurant may be known for its teppanyaki so maybe that's why the sushi was not up to par, but I personally at the moment would not recommend the sushi menu unfortunately unless there's some change to the food and staff. Additionally, our final bill was $100+ and tip, so about $130~ for just 2 people. For the price and generous tip, we would expect better :( I normally am not a super tough critic especially for local businesses, however it was definitely not a good experience and will most likely not return for now, sorry. ---- We also tried the take out and the sushi was better than the dine in food, strangely. One note was the pineapple fried rice was in a Togo container that was $17 and the pineapple bottoms took up like 60% of the container so we only got a little rice. read more
