    Salad (comes with Teppanyaki meal)

Made a reservation on Wednesday 7/9 for 5:45pm for 4 people for Teppanyaki through Yelp. Got here on time and was seated pretty quickly, with one other party at the restaurant. Ordered both the sushi and the teppanyaki, but unfortunately the chef who was supposed to serve us had cut his finger, so we waited a good hour before we finally got the teppanyaki started (the sushi and appetizers came pretty quickly.) Juan, our waiter, was super apologetic and accommodating, offering us discounts on sodas and appetizers, and the manager even came and apologies to us as well. All things considered, the food was really good and the service was good as well. Dancho was our chef and he was really engaging and we had a great experience. Aside from the wait, we enjoyed the experience and would come back.

Decided to try this hibachi place instead of the usual Benihana and it didn't disappoint. Got seated and greeted right away. Lots of options on the menu and once order was placed, got salad and soup served and the chef came out. The communal table is a big one that's all connected to the chef and serve multiple groups conveniently. My chef was a great performer and super entertaining. The show was way better than Benihana like juggling fire sticks, fire fingers and tossing egg. The only downside is if you order salmon it's not cooked by the chef in front of you.. instead it's cooked in the kitchen and served when done. There's also tables if you don't want to sit in front of the hibachi grill. Parking is in a plaza shared with other restaurant. Definitely will come back to celebrate birthdays as the vibe is better

The service is great, staff is so friendly, and the hibachi chef was doing great. He did his best to entertain us and keep the conversation going despite my expressionless self giving a blank response. Thank you for being some welcoming! The food however, was so mid. I honestly didn't like the food. I got the shrimp and noodles. Apparently the udon it's on isn't the thick Japanese udon noodle, but rather the thinner Chinese variation of noodles. My partner said the steak was good though, but I didn't have any as I don't each much red meat. Great service, mid food. Great hibachi bar experience!

2025 starting off with eating at teppanyaki. When both my boyfriend and I walk in we were greeted by Alan. He guided us to our seat and gave us generally ideas the food and drinks. We were served by Manny our chef. He cooked very skillfully and performed funny and wow. Inside decorations is very Japanese. See the pictures and videos for yourself. Go on the week days so it's not as busy !

We recently gathered for a family celebration at Encore Teppan. The birthday girl wanted steak so we honored her wishes and then some. It had been quite some time since we last dined here, an I'm not sure why we waited so long to return ‍. We were seared in the front room at the large Teppan grill. There were 12 of us so it was perfect. Our Grill Master, Tacho, was outstanding. He interacted with everyone, and involved the kids in a truly fantastic dining experience. My husband and I opted for the Anniversary special (they are celebrating 10 years in business!) and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent all around and the staff were so attentive and professional. Definitely consider Encore Teppan for a special family meal, or just because

I really like the layout of this place and it is very easy to get a private room. Even with a little party of three for me, we were able to get a table service and a private room. Granted it is not very busy if you come during the off hours. You get a lot of food with your order and the price is really reasonable in my opinion. The Benihana type of show was pretty impressive. It might be better if they had some music in the background since our party was pretty quiet! They were very nice to cut the cake for us that we brought to the restaurant and take pictures for us. The service is top-notch and the food and price is great. I say encore to this given they even have loyalty cards!

Always a good time gathering around the teppan table. The little show performance, the staple salad and soup plus the meat of your choice. Hm hmm good.

Alec truly sets the standard for exceptional service. From start to finish, his attention to detail was unmatched--he made sure every part of the teppan experience was smooth, engaging, and enjoyable. It's clear that Alec genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in what he does. His service goes beyond just great food he makes guests feel valued and welcomed. Encore is incredibly lucky to have someone like Alec representing them. Experiences like this are the reason people come back. Highly recommend asking for Alec if you're dining here!

Mike, our chef was great and Juan, our server was awesome! Thank you for making my birthday special!

Our chef Camiere, brought the heat--amazing show, great energy, and perfect timing on every dish.

We had a fantastic time at Encore Teppan in Diamond Bar! From the moment we were seated, the vibe was upbeat, and the showmanship from our teppan chef made it an experience to remember. He was funny, skilled, and perfectly timed each course so nothing ever felt rushed. The chicken katsu was a table favorite--crispy, golden, and flavorful without being greasy. The salmon sashimi was beautifully presented and incredibly fresh, with a texture that melted in your mouth. We also tried the salmon carpaccio with truffle oil--the flavor was rich and the fish was delicate, though we personally felt the truffle oil was a bit overpowering and masked some of the salmon's natural taste. Service was attentive, the atmosphere was fun, and everything came out fresh. While a few dishes could use a little refining, we'll absolutely be back again. A solid 4-star spot for a night out or a special celebration.

I love that this place never has a weight and hopefully it stays that way. Juan was very attentive and acknowledge us right away. I've been here a couple times and the food is always on point. The sushi here is very fresh and I love the Tepanyaki show.

Can they accommodate a wheelchair? A friend told us about this place. i saw a lot of stairs in the pictures.

yes. There is a wheelchair access by the side of the building

I booked for graduation dinner coming up, is it ok to bring some table top decorations?? No balloons for sure but just table toppers. Thanks for responding.

Hi Brenda, A few small table toppers shouldn't be any problem as long as they are not flammable if you are siting at the grill. Thank you!!

    Is there happy hour available?

Since CoVid, there isn't been a happy hour! My husband and I are always happy to go to Encore Teppan to see our favorite staff members. We feel like every hour spent there is a happy hour!😂

Are there lunch specials and happy hour available?

Thanks for reaching out. We are afraid that we do not have lunch special nor happy hour available at the moment. We do send out special promotion for our members in our app. Which you can find at App Store/market place “encore teppan”.

I downloaded the app, but the sushi menu is not available? Is the sushi menu only available when you walk in and place a take out order?

Hello Laura, thank you for reaching out. Sushi menu is currently available at 5pm Friday Saturday and Sunday. It will become available during that time

Is the menu online same as the menu at the restaurant?

Hi Michele. Please visit www.encoreteppan.Com for most updated menu. For pickup/delivery orders, view menus at www.orderEncore.Com Thank you!

Do they cook in front of you like before?

Unfortunately, they are not cooking in front of you. They cook the food in there kitchen and then bring it out to the patio seating.

What are the days & times for Happy Hour?

Happy hour is Monday thru Thursday 8pm to closing, that is unless you download their app and become a member then happy hour is pretty much all day long Monday thru Thursday

    Hi Did they accept Amex?

    absolutely, we do!

What time does their lunch special end on the weekends?

    3pm Friday to Sunday !:)

Is lunch menu available on weekends?

    Yes. It is available.

Is the fried rice available for lunch? If so, is it still unlimited?

    Yes and yes!

I'm confused about the fried rice. Is it part of the Tappan dinner or not? We ate here once and it came with, but menu looks different now.

It comes with it, but they charge more for the fried rice, but well worth it. Menu can be a bit confusing. Now the bowls are not made on the grill. They are made in the kitchen, but still good. I would stick with all on the grill. Let me know if you…

I made reservations via open table. Will i be able to have Teppan while sitting at a high top table?

You can have teppan to eat, you just won't be able to watch them cook it.

Does the restaurant have a bar area?

Yes we do! We have a FULL BAR as well as sushi bar and happy hour from 3-6 and 8-close!! Come on by!

Is this better than Wabi Sabi in chino?

The decor at Encore is more upscale. It is funner at wabi-sabi but taste food wise is pretty much the same both good!

There was no wait, and we were able to be seated right away. They have a promotion going on where you can order two Gyukatsu sets and get one noodle dish for half off. So we ordered two beef Gyukatsu sets, our favorite, and also the cream udon. We also ordered a Pork Cutlet set, Agedashi Tofu, and Chicken Karaage. Below are my ratings: Gyukatsu set: 5 out of 5. This is what they are famous for. You cook the beef on the hot pot, and it is tender. The dipping sauce adds to the flavor, especially the one with wasabi in it. The cabbage salad is perfect. Cream Udon: 3 out of 5. The cream on top looks very interesting, but after a few bites, it does feel a little too creamy and heavy. Pork Cutlet: 5 out of 5. Huge portion of two pieces, worth the price. Tofu and Karaage: 4 out of 5. Good. Overall, we loved the meal and the service, and would definitely come back.

Service was attentive throughout our visit, and we took advantage of their summer special, which offered 50% off a second Premium Gyukatsu Set with the purchase of one. **Premium Gyukatsu Set: 4/5** Made with American-style Wagyu prime short rib, the gyukatsu was incredibly juicy and tender, with beautiful marbling throughout. A coating of fine panko breadcrumbs formed a golden-brown, crispy crust, creating a satisfying crunch with each bite. The set came with a personal tabletop grill, allowing you to sear each piece to your preferred doneness for an interactive dining experience. Accompanying the gyukatsu were rice, miso soup, and several small sides, with the shredded cabbage standing out for its refreshing contrast to the richness of the fried cutlet. The corn salad, however, felt somewhat like an afterthought and wasn't particularly well executed. An assortment of seasonings and sauces was also included to pair with the meat. The specialty salts complemented the beef especially well, while the gyukatsu sauce had a light, savory flavor with a subtle sweetness that enhanced its natural character. The only miss was the wasabi sauce, which was dominated by an overwhelming horseradish taste. **Takoyaki: 4/5** The takoyaki had a delicately crisp exterior that gave way to a molten, creamy center. Each piece contained a sizable portion of octopus, while the bonito flakes on top added a smoky umami depth that paired nicely with the generous drizzle of mayo and takoyaki sauce. Kobe Gyukatsu delivered an enjoyable meal, with the quality of the dishes and tableside grilling among the main highlights. There's certainly enough here to warrant a return visit.
