I highly recommend Encinitas Self Storage. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I have used other locations of San Diego Self Storage in the past and have always been impressed by their facilities and level of customer service. I just switched from another company's facility closer to my home in Encinitas due to that facility having poor customer service and high rental rates. By switching to Encinitas Self Storage I am saving almost $200 a month, I have an additional 20 square feet, and the rate is locked in for a year. Plus, the front desk has better candy and complementary chilled bottled water for customers. The old facility I had didn't even let customers use the restroom in the office! read more

Before signing up for a storage unit, I checked out quite a few different facilities around North County. Encinitas Self Storage had everything I was looking for, and after two years as a renter, they have surpassed my expectations. I was taken on a tour of the different sized units before I made a decision and signing the contract was a breeze. In order to enter into where the units are you need to drive through a key-pad computerized gate using a code that will be personally easy to remember. There are wide driveways so you can park close to your unit without blocking other cars. There is always someone at the front desk and they are open later than any other storage place that I looked into. It is well lit and there is a cart/dolly for use if you need one, along with an on-site trash and recycle dumpster. But the best part of Encinitas Self Storage are the people who work there. Our storage unit at the Encinitas location was broken into last week and over $26,500 in video production gear was stolen. The team has been unsympathetic, didn't fix a broken hinge (how the robbers broke in) for 3 days, and the team also failed to notify the police that there are 6!!! other break ins in our building. We did our diligence with having a secure lock, so the response and unwillingness to pay for damages up to $26,500 is unacceptable for a "reliable, values driven, customer-first" business. There is refusal to turn over the full video footage to the police due to "antiquated systems". My partner who is suffering the brunt of the loss of video production equipment, even offered his services to help with the video transcription and we just got a shrug of the shoulders "sorry our systems are old, nothing we can do." There is always something you can do. Always. That's what customer service is. As a business that has won "San Diego's Best" for years, they no longer are and it's sad, hurtful and frustrating to see a local business not go to bat for their tenants while also toting "reliable" units and staff. This was an amazing opportunity for your business to live up to your long standing awards by turning this around. Please do not store your goods in any of their locations, they will not be safe, the surveillance is not up to par to protect your unit, and you will not be taken care of should there be an issue. read more
