Unfortunately the last few times I have brought vehicles here for service, I feel like half of what I've been told was a fabrication. From the reason why the vehicle hasn't been repaired to what it might need. And everything in between. The service technicians seem to be inexperienced and the service managers are put in the position of needing to be able to tell the customer something other than the tech just didn't show up for work today. FORD ENCINITAS extremely lacks customer service and has proved how despicable their Service Department operates. Our Explorer was at Ford from July 2, 2024 to August 14, 2024 for a recall and to fix the AC. We first witnessed the lack of communication between the insurance company and Ford Service Department. It took about 2 weeks for both companies to get their paperwork and approvals completed then about another 5-7 days for ordered AC parts. Finally, the last 2 weeks to work on our Explorer! The HORRIFIC finale was when we went to pick up our Explorer. I couldn't believe what I saw! The Explorer was extremely filthy! The roof top and body was covered and caked with bird droppings and dirt, like it was sitting at a junkyard!! Where is your common courtesy, show of good faith, and a high quality of customer service in taking care of your clients and their vehicle? A simple car wash or better yet a detail to present the vehicle in a manner you care for your customers! Yeah, thanks for the loaner, but in the end, it was a huge slap in the face!!! I called Encinitas Ford to get my rear break pads changed. Over the phone I was quoted $350 for the rear pads, which included resurfacing the rotors. Upon arrival, I was quoted $1,180. I had no choice but to go through with it because if I didn't fix the pads then other parts would start having issues. I'm not happy that I have to pay an additional $830. The Encinitas Ford Service Department and Service Manager Duke were deplorable. About two months ago, I dropped my F150 off with Duke for an emissions recall. The papers I received fro FORD said it would be a half-day fix, but dependent on the dealership. I dropped it off first thing in the morning on a Thursday and by close of business the next day on Friday, it wasn't ready. I picked it up to use on Saturday and Sunday and then returned it first thing on Monday. There was no communication from Duke unless I reached out inquiring. Each time I was left feeling as if I was a bother. He can sweet talk and apologize after the fact, but his words are empty. Following completion of the work, a simple computer push, on the following Friday, I picked the truck up. I couldn't register it because they didn't smog check the vehicle. I called and then brought it back for the smog check which failed. I had to put 600 miles on it and then brought it back again. It passed, but the smog certificate wasn't ready and Duke told me he'd call me in a couple days to come get it. I called nine days later after without ever hearing from him because my registration renewal was rejected by CA DMV; Duke assured me everything was in order. When I went to pick up the paperwork, he wanted to charge me for the emissions check. The paperwork I received said that the recall work was free, made no mention about having to pay for the smog check, but he insisted I was wrong. He was argumentative and as I produced the documents that I received, he didn't even read them. He just said he didn't want it to be a problem, no charge, no hard feelings. I didn't receive anything showing zero balance due, but I recorded the conversation on my GoPro. I can't wait for them to reach out to try to collect. I've never been treated worse or received worse service in any industry ever in my life. Nine business days total over a two month period and a lot of teeth pulling. I'm still waiting for my registration to be approved by DMV. read more

This company has advertised a Tesla for the last several weeks and it is still on Facebook marketplace. When we called to see if it was still available, they said it was in fact still in their inventory of used cars. We arrived there about an hour later, and the sales manager said that the car was just sold a half hour before we got there! My wife and I were shopping for a newer used car, specifically a ford maverick, and we drove to escondido with two potential trade in autos. Prior to going, we specifically put together some numbers for fair value trade in estimate for a used maverick. I told the sales person do not waste our time if we aren't close to the numbers I provided as I used the very numbers provided by the dealer for the trade in and the value of the advertised price. They assured me that the numbers were very close to my provided estimates. We spent 3 hours at the dealer while they collected both of our information even though we were paying cash only to have them come in at 5K above their cars advertised price that included factoring in our two automobile trade in value worth approx 15K. A total waste of time. I then saw another used maverick at encinatas ford. I provided the same trade in values calculated by their dealership, along with the asking price of the used car and was told over the phone my numbers were close. My wife drove over with one car , tested the used car and based on good faith alone, with the details of the other trade in, offered us 1K above my estimate, we settled at splitting it to within $500 of my asking price, and my wife and I walked away with a fair deal for both parties and were very pleased with the professionalism and simple transaction and service provided by encinitas ford. Not even a day later, my window wipers failed. Based on their one month guarantee, i called and had them address the issue promptly. Their service department completed the repair within 2 business days under their warranty without any questions or difficulty. Shopper beware! Looking at a new car and like all cars right now it is marked up 20% over MSRP. I asked if they would be able to do it for 10% over. He responded with "if we do it for 10% over will you buy it today?" I told him yes so we go inside and filled out a credit application. We have excellent credit so he comes back with an offer that was only couple thousand dollars off NOT what they had said they would do 5 minutes before. This of course was done after pulling our credit which does affect your credit score. I think it was pretty shady if they were not going to do the deal that they said they should've let us know before running our credit. Just want to let future shoppers know this is how they operate. Buyer beware before you make your deal and fill out any paperwork. This is why car salesman get such a bad name!! read more

These people have no idea what customer service is. We were onsite for nearly 20 minutes obviously interested in two vehicles. We actually had to go find somebody before we got any assistance. The salesperson was dishonest when asked about repairs that would or would not be made in case of a sale, and their advertised prices do not include hidden fees "add ons". There is small print that mentions the add ons but it is virtually illegible on any mobile device. I would not recommend this dealership to anybody regardless of price or convenience. I scheduled my Ford Flex for pick-up and drop-off service on 7/20/2023. After running diagnostics, they supposedly identified a water pump failure and timing chain issue, although now I had doubts about that being the actual problem. I picked up my vehicle on 8/16/2023 after being charged $2800. Unfortunately, it broke down again on 8/18/2023, and I had to complain in order to have it towed since they initially wanted me to pay for it. Finally, my vehicle was ready on 8/31/2023, with the issue now being attributed to the air intake, which they decided to fix free of charge. I believe they should have offered a partial refund considering the inconvenience and the fact that I had to rent a car for a second time.To add to my frustration, when I received my vehicle, it was covered in over 100 bird droppings, as well as dirt and debris. Throughout this entire service, I was in contact with Joel Escobar, who was supposed to be my service advisor. However, he was consistently rude and disrespectful, attempting to correct me repeatedly. On the first occasion I picked up my car, there was no expression of gratitude or any acknowledgment. It was simply a payment, signing, and receiving the key. On the second occasion, Joel failed to even come out and acknowledge me or apologize for the inconvenience, despite being informed that my vehicle had been fixed.Furthermore, my attempts to reach out to the service manager, Ken Pulsifer, have been unsuccessful, as he appears to be too busy to return my call or email. I chose Encinitas Ford for servicing because it is where I purchased my vehicle, and I was under the impression that I would be treated not only as a customer but as part of the Ford family. If this is the level of treatment that family/customers receive, then I believe it is necessary to reconsider your slogan/motto. I searched for the car I wanted for 3 weeks and found it at Encinitas Ford. it was such a good deal I got an airline ticket and flew down. Allen Kessler was my personal salesperson we spoke on the phone and he answered all my questions then asked if I wanted to come in and see the car I said I live in Northern California, Allen said no problem I can pick you up. I got my ticket he picked me up we drove to the dealership and the car was everything and more. the only think that slowed me down is they had another car I might have purchased because they had such fair and good price. after I made my decision per our phone conversation I was pre approved for a low 5.5% loan and was going to put a large down payment doing the paperwork meeting with the finance guy was a fast easy breeze. please note: not once did I feel uncomfortable or pressured in any way. was simply offered options that I simply turned down by saying no thank you and they moved on. from start to finish it was about an hour this was refreshing because in the past I spent hours at other dealerships. the staff here is a class act. when I am in the market again I will check out their inventory they have many lease returns with low miles and in great shape. I got a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus Black label fully loaded with only 8K miles on it and it's in mint condition. every place else I looked wanted $45k to $49K for this car with 30K miles on the cars. Salesman Kevin Sales is a sweet guy, but he's got kids to feed....he could do better working somewhere else. They are winsome and manipulative. Bought a BMW X5 here today still under BMW warranty with Frank as my salesperson. Overall was a quick and painless experience. I shopped online, watched a great car drop in price (was following it online) almost 8,000.00 in over a month, pre-qualified online from home and set an appointment to come in. Came in, Frank was waiting for me and was super friendly, relatable, forthcoming and polite. He was a straight shooter and didn't BS me. He didn't hassle or pressure me which was very much appreciated. The only negative I experienced was upon my return home with the new vehicle. After parking in my garage I realized the close rear lift gate button was not operational- but it is still covered by BMW warranty so at least it will be repaired by a BMW dealership free. Annoying but not devastating. Also partially my fault due to not testing it at the dealership firsthand. Ray Pelston was really great. I took my truck in for maintenance and he was very communicative and kept me up to date on the repairs throughout the process. They were able to diagnose the problem promptly and get me back on the road. The only thing that I can say poorly about the experience is the technician who delivered my truck back to me didn't tell me that my battery was bad, I should've known by the jumper box he pulled out of the cab before giving it to me. When I got to the gas station the truck wouldn't start and couldn't be jumped so I had to wait 2 hours for AAA battery service. Should I expect to have my vehicle damaged during the repair process? First of all, I did not expect part of my transmission to fail at 16k miles, so I'm thankful for the warranty that covers this. After three week of back ordered parts the van repair was finished and I drove it off the lot and hosed it off at to get the month of dust and dirt off the van to find front end scratches and abrasions and right side scratches and abrasions.
