One word. Tanner (service advisor). He legit has changed my mind about Lexus. I've had horrible service over the years from Escondido and San Diego. I was going to get rid of my (paid off) car and get into a non Lexus lease because I was getting frustrated and annoyed with service advisors. The Carlsbad location is a further drive and the center seems older. But I can tell you it was WORTH IT because of Tanner. He was upfront, honest, and knowledgeable when I first spoke to him. I needed brake pads and possible new rotors. I just trusted him when he said to first pay for the brake diagnostic (I think it was like $59.95?) and they'll know exactly the issue to see exactly what needs to be done. The fee will go directly towards any service and it wasn't a loss as I knew for sure my brake pads were worn badly. The loaner department was also quick and efficient (I think the guy's name was David?). He got me their newer 2025 RX to the loaner and I totally understand why they give Lexus loaners as I emailed tanner to say hey wait don't do the service as I may just trade in the car (kinda half joking here). But I know which car I'll be getting in the next two years now. The brake service was PERFECT. I didn't need new rotors (yes!!) but was super close to it (as i expected). I also decided to get a full interior/exterior detail for the car (haven't had it since owning it so it was much needed). I am back today for the alignment (got the wheels at Costco few min away as their 4 tire special beat Lexus). Hopefully alignment went well but I wouldn't expect anything less at this point with Tanner and his team here. Thank you Carlsbad Lex! read more

One star only because I like the car. I went into the dealership about an hour before closing, expecting to look at a car and leave a deposit to return the next morning. Instead, I was met with high-pressure sales tactics. They claimed the advertised online price was a "mistake," refused to hold the car with a deposit, and pressured me into buying that night. They also offered me next to nothing for my trade-in, then shooed me out without an orientation to the vehicle. I was told I had an option contract, but when I found a better financing rate, my calls were ignored. I was also pressured into buying an extended warranty, when I called Lexus corporate to cancel, I later learned the dealership hadn't submitted the required paperwork and the car was not tagged as certified pre-owned in the system. Emails and calls went unanswered for weeks until I contacted the general manager. If you buy here, make sure you secure outside financing before you walk in. They will relentlessly pressure you to finance through Lexus. The experience was so bad that I now go to Lexus Escondido for all my service instead of returning here. Edit: I forgot to include. They also charge you $2,000 for an "optional" security device which isn't a car alarm and they can't explain what it does- but it's actually not optional. read more

Vehicle: 2017 Lexus RX350 The vehicle developed an oil leak that was diagnosed by both an independent mechanic and a Lexus dealership as a rear main seal leak at approximately 76,940 miles. The Lexus dealership estimated the repair cost at $9,388.62. Lexus declined to provide assistance with the repair. I am posting this to document the issue for other owners. UPDATE (March 2026): After the business responded publicly saying they wanted to look further into this matter, I reached out directly to the contact they provided. I would NEVER go here to buy your Lexus. This is the second Lexus I've bought, love the cars, and my first experience at a different location was amazing, but this location was the worst experience purchasing a car I've ever gone through, felt like i was being hustled by a used car lot. I bought literally every protection plan they offered, somehow they charged me for two of the same protections plans. After my extremely negative experience i decided to cancel all the protections but couldn't cancel the tire and wheel because for some reason, they never activated my tire and wheel protections. For 5 months i called Lexus financial and they said they seen the protection plan on my account but could not cancel it because the dealership had never activated it. Took them 5 months and me driving an hr to the dealership to activate it, just to cancel it. They took me for all they could on my trade in, made $12,000 off me on that deal. I was offered $36,000 on my 2023 is350 every other dealership, they only gave me $30,000. Didn't fully pay off my car, they got a parking ticket an hour away from the dealership, under my name, in the car they took in as a trade that they were supposed to pay off and never did.Took me for every cent they could, and was extremely difficult to contact and communicate with to fix the problem. I can no longer easily book a loaner when scheduling service because they no longer offer loaners like they used to. Another company ruined by venture capital. I'm one of those people that usually only leave reviews for bad experiences but this one was so good, I thought I'd share a happy one for once. I traded my Lexus IS 300 in for a Lexus ES 350 and Ali was absolutely terrific! He didn't try to upsell me, lowball me, he was honest, genuinely friendly, and just a pleasure overall. We had a slight disagreement with my trade-in value but we reached a nice compromise right in the middle and I left one happy man. The price was the sale price, plus tax, registration fees, and their automatically installed security system--NOTHING extra, no "mandatory add-ons" dealerships use to rob you. I'm SO happy and my car is beyond my dream car. Not to mention, this place gave me a better interest rate than my CREDIT UNION. My CU gave me 5.34% and the dealership approved me at 4.86%--can't beat it. When I bought my IS 300, the sale price was $30.3k and even with $10k down, I ended up financing $29.8k. Price, tax, registration, $1000 tinted windows (what!? I'm getting tint on my new car today for $320!), clear coat, and security system. I came to this dealership as a Costco Auto Program member and a returning customer ready to purchase a 2026 UX 300h Premium. I asked three separate times for the Costco member pricing sheet, and each time the salesperson refused to provide it. Instead of answering my direct question, he quoted me a price thousands above market value and tried to redirect me to used cars I never asked about. As a woman who has purchased multiple cars on my own, I know exactly what I want and how much I should pay. The refusal to give a straight answer--and the pivot to used inventory I didn't request--made it clear my business was not being taken seriously. The Costco Auto Program exists to eliminate this exact runaround. This dealership appears to use it as a lead generation tool with no intention of honoring the actual program terms. Are you sure you at Costco does not look favorably on this type of behavior. When I asked about the cost difference between AWD and FWD, I was told it wasn't significant and that he hadn't checked to see if any were available. For a vehicle where the difference is over $1,500, that's either laziness or a lie. It reinforced that my business--and my questions--were not being taken seriously. I walked away and will take my business to a dealership that respects both my time, the program and its customers. I will never buy a car from the dealership again. Leadership you should be ashamed of this type of behavior. Further, you should know how difficult it is to acquire customers. Let me ask you something, was it worth it? Now you have not only bad publicity, but you have also forever lost a customer. I will tell literally everyone I know what you did. I dropped off my vehicle last appointment of day and was told it would be ready for pick up the following evening. Well, evening of the following day arrives and I don't even get a call from my service representative to let me know what the status is. I finally called and she did not answer. I have to be honest I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone with a remotely older model Lexus. This is not a reflection on Bernardo who was my service advisor and was lovely (the only reason there is an extra star on this review). My car has been having electrical issues that started recently and has been looked at by two mechanics that couldnt figure it out. My car was at the dealership from Monday to Wednesday for them to first say "we think it might be your battery" (again which had been checked by multiple mechanics and is newer and fine) to "we think your car was never overheating and we think your temperature gauge is broken" (also has been checked by multiple mechanics and not accurate). To here is a 20 000 dollar estimate for things not working in your car including 8 hours of labor for us to even look at the electrical. My family is in the mechanic business and unfortunately I know a lot of things on there were just trying to upsell me. The silly part is if they had just quoted me for 8 hours of labor for the electrical I would have said yes instead of declining the whole estimate and taking my car elsewhere. I am not one to leave negative reviews and I know almost certainly nothing will be done about this. But this was the worst way to spend $255. EDIT: I picked up my car and transferred to another mechanic who told me he uses the same diagnostic as the dealership and had codes pop up immediately. He fixed it same day for 685 dollars. My lease is ending in two months so I stopped by with an appointment to ask about my lease end options. I was interested in buying out my lease and Esan Mirafzal came to "help". He immediately just gave me the paperwork to buy out my lease and just told me to fill it out and sign. I said I wasn't 100% sure about whether or not I was going to buy out my lease or not. This is when he turned into a different person. He started to talk bad about Tesla and insisted that I should get the Lexus RZ instead, which is almost double the price of my current car. I said I wasn't interested and just wanted to know the interest rate if I decided to buy out the car. He said okay and came back to ask what my credit score is. I told him and he said my fico score actually wasn't accurate and that he will run it himself... umm ok why didn't you do that before? Then he asked how much money I would put down. I said I'm not sure yet can I get a couple different options just so I can think on it? He said that he couldn't print too much paper for me. What does that mean?? I pay over $400 a month on a Lexus and he can't use like $0.10 of paper + ink on me? That's actually ridiculous. He was also telling me that he couldn't give me a ballpark estimate on the value on my car. He acted like my car was unsalvageable and worth nothing. Just because of that I went to Tesla same day and asked them what they would offer me if they bought out my lease. They helped me instantly and I ordered a car same day! I most likely would have bought out the lease if he was nicer and actually helpful. Never dealing with Lexus again! Just awful customer service unless you're buying something. They will tell you what you want to hear to make a sale ! Beware ! Purchased a car a month ago , was told multiple times by the sales rep that the used car I wanted to purchase had a 100k manufacturer warranty . I wouldn't have purchased the car if I knew it was 3rd party . We made sure multiple times it was thru the manufacturer. Well a week after having the car the belts started making all kinds of noise along with some other issues . I dropped my car off at the dealership and was told no warranty. I had purchased an extended warranty and called them and they said I had it but all work had to be done at the dealership I bought it from . Another lie. I spoke to manager who acted like I wasn't told we had a manufacturer warranty then proceeded to tell me about the 3rd party warranty and said I can get work done anywhere . That was another lie I had told him again how I just spoke to them and that wasn't true . I do not recommend buying used cars from here at all . I will be getting hold of legal team for fraudulent misrepresentation by this dealership. Apparently they knew it was 3rd party but told me it was manufacturer just to make the sale . read more

Two months ago, I leased an 2026 RZ-350e from Lexus Carlsbad. Alex did a wonderful job and he was very professional and knowledgeable. Lexus Financial told me if I leased this vehicle, they would waive the last 6 lease payments on the 2023 RZ-450e. Everything went smoothly at Lexus Carlsbad. However, a month later, Lexus Financial sent me a bill for the remaining 6 payments. I called the Customer Service and they said it was an error on their part and they would fix it. They told me to call back in a couple of weeks and check on the status. I called 2 weeks later and was told the account went over to a collection agency. About that same time I got a cryptic text from TSI, a debt collector that they would be contacting me. Lexus Financial told me I needed to talk the TSI. I called TSI and filed a dispute with them. I then had to call each week with TSI and Lexus Financial to see it the problem was fixed. After a month of getting the run around, I called Alex and Anthony Tang at Lexus Carlsbad. They jumped on the problem and got a hold of the right people in Lexus Financial to get the problem fixed. I am writing this review to show my appreciation for the excellent and professional service they gave me. Anthony T called each time progress was made on fixing the problem. A big thumbs down on Lexus Financial who sent the account over to a debt collector before the due date on the letter they sent me. The agents were fine but they have no power and are just stuck in front of a huge bureaucracy that shows now concern of a customer who has done business with them for over 2 decades. I took my car in for service at Lexus Carlsbad a few months back and was very happy with my experience. My service advisor was Chris Dressler. He was polite, friendly, and to-the-point (in a good way)! He quickly got me ready to go with paperwork and then sent me on my way to pick up a loaner. I was given a (very) new NX350h in my favorite Lexus exterior/interior color combo...I may or may not have been a bit sad when I had to return it. Alas, after just over 24 hours, return it I did. However, the reason I returned it so promptly (an efficient and prompt turnaround time) was positive. The amount charged for my service was surprising low...I genuinely thought an error was made at first, but it was just the result of the dealership doing what was needed without any stealth add-ons. I'd also like to call out the complimentary car detail. I have no idea what products/techniques they used but wow, my car looked amazing. It didn't even look that shiny and new when I purchased it lol. Overall, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Lexus Carlsbad. My latest lease was expiring and I went online and selected the exact car I wanted, outside color, interior color and amenities. I live in San Diego and have always leased through the San Diego dealership but they didn't have the car in stock. I did find one on its way to Carlsbad. I was hesitant to do business with a dealership out of town because I thought it would be a hassle to have service far away. Then along came Salesman DINO! He contacted me after I made in inquiry through Lexus Carlsbad's website. He was not pushy at all, just offered to help me get the car. I was still holding back, not certain about doing business with Carlsbad. After a couple days he texted me, simply asking how it was going and telling he that he was there to help. I really felt he was sincere so I took the plunge. He was able to get me the car within a day! The whole experience at the Carlsbad dealership was perfect, start to finish. I was there for a much shorter time than I expected, the price was right, there were discounts and leasing incentives and Dino made me feel so taken care of through it all. The best surprise is that when my car needs maintenance, the dealership will send someone to my home with a loaner vehicle, take my car up to Carlsbad for service and return it to my home when it's done.
