We came in for an event that Hoehn Honda did with the San Diego county credit union. My son needed a car. A sales person approached us as soon as we parked in the lot. It was perfect because he was around my son's age and my son was there to buy his first car. He is in his early 20s. My son and the sales guy, Shane Wetzel. He was very knowledgeable, especially for his young age. He pretty much grew up in the industry, so I'm sure that helped. Anyway, we felt no pressure as he showed us around the lot. He made his recommendations and hyped up the cars that he liked. My son got a great deal on his vehicle of choice. The paperwork was hasslefree. The finance person was really great too. Her name was Jennifer. I felt safe with my son's choices and with the coverage he purchased. No complaints at all. They even fed us while we waited for them to check my son's credit. I'm very disappointed with service department. It's not the repair that they did, but that one of the mechanics thought it was okay to take my two pair of sunglasses from the car. The free Costco case was left behind. One were cheap ones but cute, but the second pair is Saint Lauren sunglasses in original case. Not cool to give it to your girlfriend at my expense. I bought them with my own money saving up for them. I'm not rich. I can't just go get another one. I don't work right now, you do, you make more money than I ever did! All my life men rubbed me off of something, and this hits hard. I would really appreciate if you could return them back to me, you can ship them anonymously to my home address, no questions asked. read more

He kept me in formed of the situation, diagnosed the problem, performed the repairs and had the vehicle test driven for 30 miles to make sure everything was good. We purchased two brand new CRV's from this dealership for my daughters over the past few days, Sierra Booth was the salesperson. First deal went fairly smoothly with a CRV trade but still took over three hours to complete. Second deal took over 4 hours and when the deal was finally signed it ended up being total misrepresentation...until I got the manager involved. First they lowballed the CRV trade by about $3300 versus a cash deal with Autonation because the car had an accident. The accident was also disclosed to Autonation. We then kept telling them we needed the wire information to pay off the car with cash the next day no trade. They said we needed to give them approximately $11000 for a down payment. We did that. They then ran my daughter through the finance department which we assumed was just for trying to upsell an extended warranty and other things...none of which we accepted. The deal was done, my daughter left with the car. We continued to ask for routing information they said they would get it to us. Come to find out they financed the car at 8% even though we said we were paying cash by wire the next day, bad on my daughter for not reading the contract entirely, but we never accepted any financing option wether we could pay it off early without penalty or not. Sierra wrongly assumed we needed to leave with the car the same day, just a "misunderstanding" by the Managers account. That was never communicated to her by my daughter. After a not so nice call by me to the manager we are paying off the car by wire the tomorrow, no financing. This is why people are taken advantage of by car dealers. Dealers do this every day, all day long, you do this once every 5-10 years maybe. They know the game, you don't, and dealers like this are only happy to take advantage of you. Dealers like this call it a misunderstanding (so they have a defense when they get sued) I call it something much worse. read more

I don't normally leave reviews in general but my experience was horrible that I felt had to share with others. The only good part of this entire process was the sales experience. Irene was great and truly helpful when purchasing the car. Unfortunately, everything after the purchase has been horrible. The same day we bought the car, we noticed the sunroof wasn't working. We thankfully bought the warranty but when we brought it in and tried to use the warranty, they suddenly said it couldn't be applied and offered no documentation or explanation as to why. I've been calling for the past 3-4 weeks trying to get answers, and I still haven't heard anything back. Rufina and the finance team at Hoehn Honda of Carlsbad do not return calls or provide any follow-up. It feels like once they sell you the car, you're completely on your own. I do not recommend Hoehn Honda of Carlsbad. They'll be nice to you during the sale, but once you drive off the lot, their customer service disappears. Very disappointing and incredibly frustrating. read more
