***CONSUMER BEWARE*** I had roadside assistance tow my 2019 Audi Q8 into Audi Carlsbad because the temperature gauge was starting to go up. After explaining the issue to my Service Advisor, he wrote me up for a multipoint inspection inspection and after their initial diagnosis, they determined the thermostat and water pump were functioning properly, and that the root cause of the issue was the exhaust gases going into the cooling system causing a complete engine block failure. The advice was to replace the engine block, an estimate that came in over 35K. This diagnosis did not sit well with me considering my vehicle had less than 38K miles on it. The Service Advisor appeared to be tone deaf when delivering the news to me, as if we were having a causal conversation with no empathy whatsoever. Fortunately, we decided to get a second opinion and had roadside assistance once again pick up my vehicle and this time tow it to Audi Escondido. My experience at Audi Escondido could not have been any smoother than what I dealt with at Audi Carlsbad. Not only did they conduct a much more comprehensive diagnosis of my vehicle, they discovered that root cause was actually a broken water pump (i.e., it was completely misdiagnosed by Audi Carlsbad). The entire staff at Audi Escondido was professional and delivered exemplary customer service at Audi Escondido. The only positive thing I can say about Audi Carlsbad is they reimbursed me for the initial charge to troubleshoot my vehicle. Needless to say, I will not be taking my vehicle into Audi Carlsbad for future services, and Hoehn Motor Dealerships lost a customer for life. Sincerely - Rich Adams. read more

Mostly a good experience, except minimum follow up after the sale, when questions were asked and calls were made. The used vehicle they sold me had severely warped front rotors (the pads were replaced and rotors left), and the front control arm was cracked and lacking hydronic pressure, full cost of repairs/maintenance over $2,000. This needed work was not disclosed on the maintenance report or by the sales representative. I didn't find out until I was driving on a mountain interstate when I lightly put my foot on the brake and the car was shaking bad enough I thought the car was falling apart. By the time I got back home from Christmas and had a couple days off work it was past the post sale warranty period. This dealership is about 2 hour drive from where I live round trip, and I most likely will not be recommending them in the future. read more

I'm giving them an average rating, because that is the experience that I'v had with Hoehn Audi - average dealership service experience. When I go to my usual mechanic I deal with the owner who gets the work done. At Hoehn I deal with a service writer who may or may not write the problem up properly ( He didn't get it all right this time. They say all is normal with the suspension and undercarriage. They say all is normal with the transmission when quickly accelerating from a stop. There is still noise going over bumps and dips at normal and reasonably reduced speeds. The car still sometimes thunks upon firm acceleration from a stop. read more

I made an appointment online for an oil change and was asked if I needed complimentary transportation--I selected yes. When I arrived, I was informed that in order to have my service light turned off, I'd have to pay an additional $130, because it wasn't included with the oil change. I also asked about the Lyft I had requested, and was told that transportation wasn't included because an oil change isn't considered a "service." This was incredibly disappointing. None of this was communicated upfront. I ended up canceling the service and won't be returning. Transparency and customer service are clearly lacking here. read more

If I could could give this place a zero I would. I have had service done at this place and it gets worse everytime. I'm going to look lawyer up and get a racism and discrimination suit filed against this location. If you are minority or a person of color don't go into this location and think you'll be taken care of like everyone else. Absolutely discaplable. One of their employees, Mike went out of his way to deny me a complimentary loaner car even though the cars are provided to "everyone" who gets service done at this location as long the the service meet a certain criteria, which my car met. And although I've had loaner vehicles given to me at this location prior all of a sudden I'm black listed for no apparent reason. The story goes deeper but I don't have enough space to speak on it further but along with ripping you off on repairs the don't like people of color. One more aside, I took my car in on another occasion to get my rear break lights repaired. They discovered that the latch that closes the tailgate had shifted out of place. In addition to the $300 I was charged for diagnosis, they wanted to charge me an additional $570 dollars to adjust the latch. Ridiculous. When I disputed the charge. They reassembled the hitch so that it wouldn't work and charged me the $300 diagnosis fee. read more
