Buyer beware! The finance guy is not your friend. They are professional sellers and they know all the tricks. Don't fall for them. KNOW WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO PAY AND OPTIONS YOU WANT AND DON'T LET THEM TALK YOU INTO ANYTHING ELSE.  You may notice someone walking around with a bouquet  of flowers, and then find them sitting on the finance desk. He's gonna tell you some lady comes in selling flowers and he can't resist buying them for his wife. Yeah right! That's designed to get you to think he's a nice guy and to trust him. He's gonna "call in favors"  to get you good deals with no extras, the rate, whatever. No! You could have gotten those anyway. He's calling in a favor to reduce your interest rate?  He'll tell you he's gonna "buy down the rate" so your payments will stay the same with the extra items? NO! You already qualified for the better rate (buy rate) but they initially gave you a higher rate (sell rate) so they can later "save you money" to afford that extra warranty (or whatever) by reducing the rate.  This works far too often.  The vehicle is good (so far) but the finance area lives up to the "used car salesman" reputation. read more

Got to the lot and was told the car was just in its way to the Orange County lot but could bring it back - The sales guy called and confirmed it was en route but if we started paperwork to show committed to buy would bring it back - I told them we could start the paperwork but would not commit until test drive - was told the were going to bring it back for us - the sales guy pulls the paperwork for the car and says the car is $16000 in their system - I show them this ad where the car is listed just over $13000 - he took a picture of the ad and went into the back room and mysteriously the car just sold and we could look at something else - walked out disgusted ! read more

Less than a month after buying my Explorer, I noticed an empty Ford OEM alarm box underneath the driver's seat. I also noticed a non functioning LED light above the steering wheel. I decided to take the panel off that was underneath the dash and I located the alarm "brain" and saw that the non functioning light was plugged into it. After reading the instructions that were in the box, I realized that one final step needed to be done to activate the alarm and it could only be done by the dealer. I spoke with Greg Ryan and he told me to bring the Explorer in and have the techs look at it. When I pointed out the missing step to activate the alarm, they took my vehicle to the back, performed the step, and voila! I now have a functioning alarm light and shock sensor. I have been taking my two vehicles for service for the past two years. The service advisor Stephen Linares is extremely professional and explains everything thoroughly. The 3 star rating is because of the cashier. I asked how much would " The Works" service would cost, she asked me for which vehicle, I told her the Maverick, she stated around $100.00 dollars. I take it in for service the following month and I was charged $189. She obviously does not know the prices. If she does not know she should say she does not know instead of quoting the wrong amount. Certified Used Vehicle Sham: One of the most disappointing vehicle purchases I have ever experienced. I purchased a certified used truck sight unseen, trusting that the certification meant the vehicle had been thoroughly inspected and brought up to standard prior to sale. Unfortunately, that confidence was misplaced. Upon delivery, it was immediately apparent that the truck had multiple mechanical defects--issues that were clear, noticeable, and absolutely should have been identified during any legitimate certification inspection. These were not minor or subjective concerns. When I raised them, I was initially told the problems were "common noise" and simply a byproduct of buying a used vehicle. To their credit, the dealership was initially responsive and did address one major issue. However, during that process, additional problems were discovered that also should have been corrected before the vehicle was ever sold as "certified." Even worse, one of my original concerns that I was explicitly told had been resolved was not fixed, and now I am unable to get a return phone call regarding it. I was told the used car sales manager would contact me--that never happened. My voicemail has gone unanswered. This is especially troubling given that the sales representative who handled my purchase later admitted he was disappointed and concerned about the actual condition of the vehicle he sold me, a fact I discovered after the sale. What makes this experience most frustrating is that I paid for the assurance that the "certified" label is supposed to provide, only to be dealing with repairs immediately after purchase. This raises serious questions about the integrity--or even the existence--of their certification inspection process. Defects that exist at the time of sale should be disclosed and resolved, not passed on to the customer. It also makes one question whether this is intentional--allowing vehicles to leave the lot with known issues so customers are forced to rely on warranties, shifting repair costs away from the dealership's bottom line. If so, that practice is unethical and unacceptable. I strongly caution anyone considering a certified used vehicle from Ken Grody Ford of Carlsbad to get an independent inspection and not rely on their certification claims alone. This experience completely eroded my trust, and I will not be purchasing from them again. read more

Buddy, (#1) I spent 20 years in LA where we have this placed called Galpin Ford, and (#2) I sold dealerships as an investment banker. You have a lease bulletin that states Ford's money factor and residual. I know, unbeknownst to you, your exact negotiating position from Ford itself. If you're going to bald-faced lie to me, separate the lies and make them subtle. Sales 101. Next came the time-honored dealership move: sit the rubes in a corner, let them marinate, and pray Stockholm syndrome kicks in. We waited and waited and waited. In car sales, they call this "cooling your heels" so you become more emotionally invested and are willing to sing anything to get out the door. In my case, it was the most absurd, Kafka-esque, infuriating 30 minutes of recent memory. That insulting waste of time is why I'm even writing this review. I *know* it takes 5 minutes to run the numbers. I *know* what numbers you're even negotiating with. And you'll waste our time.. and that of countless others? Thirty entire long minutes later, we got up to leave. Cue the sales manager. Picture Conor McGregor's suit wardrobe on loan to a car lot and you've got the look. Great suit, albeit super loud. The guy all but blocked the door. Not kidding. Result? We swore a blood oath never to buy from them. Meh! Spent 45k in this place on a 2023 Ford XL! Beautiful truck but they never detailed it! Came in on Sat, sticker was 36k, put 6k down and walked away with a dirty inside truck. It was raining the day of and they said to come back when it wasn't raining for the inside detail! No one has time for that!! I prob should have pushed harder and not left without the final detail but was tired in general from the shenanigans. Anyway, the buying experience wasn't bad but it wasn't top tier either! I had a terrifying experience with my 2022 Ford Bronco (which is still under warranty), and the way Ken Grody Ford handled it was completely unacceptable. After leaving the grocery store, I got into my car and pressed the push-to-start button. It didn't work at first, so I pressed it again. That triggered a scary malfunction where the car started trying to turn itself on over and over again. I couldn't stop it. Thick black smoke began pouring from the hood, filling the parking lot with the smell of burnt plastic. It was genuinely freaky. I had the vehicle towed to Ken Grody Ford and expected at least some kind of serious follow-up. But I never received a call from a service advisor. Instead, I got a quick call from the woman at the front desk who told me it was a "recall issue," they replaced the battery, and the smell was "just the battery." That was it. When I picked up my car and tried to start it the next day, the exact same issue started happening. The car wouldn't start on the first try... I had to press the button three times and wait for it to slowly turn over. Clearly, something is still wrong. I called Ken Grody Ford again.. multiple times over the last few days! Each time, I was transferred, left voicemails, and never heard back. When I explained how concerned I was to the woman on reception (since this issue previously caused smoke and a potential fire risk), I was dismissed with, "well, is it still smoking from the hood?" Seriously? No one followed up. No one seemed to care. I've been trying to get help for days, and at this point I'm taking my business elsewhere. If you have any kind of warranty issue or a serious concern about your Ford, DO NOT bring it to Ken Grody Ford. They will not help you. They will not communicate. And they will absolutely not take your safety seriously. I expected better.. and I hope this review helps someone else avoid going through what I did. read more

I've taken my truck in three times for the same issue and it has not been resolved. When you try to call back, they send you to voicemails and I've had a physically drive-in every time to talk to a rep to set an appointment . Even when you go there to service your vehicles, you'll see the lines literally around the corner that just tells you how many issues they have with their vehicles. I've literally had to pay for my own services on my truck, which they are not going to refund and they're refusing to fix anything. I highly recommend you find a different Ford Dealer. The Crosby location is literally trash and they make you feel like you're not worthy and you made a mistake for purchasing a vehicle with them. I would give them zero stars, but unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow that but they are definitely a -0 in my opinion. read more
