On top of that, the customer service was really disappointing--both one of the guys and a woman working there were rude and unhelpful. The last 2 times I've come in to purchase a headlight, the female cashier has charged me for bulb grease. I've asked them to remove the charge twice now. PRODUCTS SHOULD NEVER BE RUNG UP WITHOUT ASKING THE CUSTOMER. This is a very sneaky dishonest practice. If I wanted to purchase grease I would have walked it to the register myself. Also, no employees have offered to help install the new headlight. Some other stores have offered to assist me in the past. read more

I went into AutoZone to buy windshield wiper fluid and Sandra went above and beyond to help me. I don't know much about cars, but she kindly offered to pour the fluid in for me. While she was helping, she noticed corrosion on my battery connector, and immediately explained what I needed to do. She went into the store to show me the spray I could use to clean it up. After I purchased she offered to clean it up. She took the time to do it right there in the parking lot! She was patient, professional, and incredibly kind. Very disappointing experience. Needed a car battery replaced for my car. Called ahead of time to ask whether they install the battery after we purchase it from them. The guy who answered the phone said that "yes," they do. No qualification or anything. When asked how long it would take, he says it depends on how busy they are, but likely between 15 to 25 minutes. Placed the order for the battery online and drove to the store after I received the confirmation that it was ready for pick up. The female employee (likely, manager) checked me out. Chastised me for placing the order online, saying it's best to place it in person. Okay. After giving me the battery, she was surprised that I wanted it installed. I told her that I specifically called and asked whether they install, and the guy told me that they do. At this point, the male employee asked me to pop my hood so that he "could take a look." I opened the hood and he goes: "Oh, this seems like too much work with the way your battery is placed in the compartment. I am not going to do it." That was shocking. I have multiple deadlines today at work and specifically took time off work to drive twenty minutes there to pick up the battery. In addition, spent almost thirty minutes on starting the car to drive to AutoZone (needed to be jumped), just for him to say that it will be too much work and he won't install it after initially telling me over the phone that they do install car batteries. This is not acceptable at all. Overall, I wasted almost two hours starting the car to get to AutoZone, driving there and back, and talking with them, just to come back home without a new battery. If you don't always install car batteries, say so over the phone. Ask the customer where the battery is located and tell them up front if you will or will not install it. Don't waste people's time by telling them you install batteries only to tell them later in person that it is too much work. read more

As a women with no experience with car issues. I went in because my left brake light went out, even though I changed the bulb weeks prior. Julian was able to find and fix the issue, the bulb I had purchased at another store was defective. He had me buy a new bulb which fixed the problem. Ordered a battery online but accidentally chose Oceanside rather than Fallbrook. They both have mission road addresses. It took four calls to cancel the order, no one asked for my number to call back, they all insisted I call back until I got hold of the manager. Once canceled over the phone I was told there was no confirmation number for canceling and that I would have to come into the store to get any evidence that the order is actually canceled. I will be filing a complaint with California State attorney's office as well as AutoZone headquarters. read more

Yet another scammer tester. DO NOT get your battery or alternator tested at AutoZone. Their testers are broken and will tell you, you need an alternator when you don't. There's no reason why their tester is the only tester in North County that is saying I have a bad alternator. When I have went to several other auto shops and gotten the proper test as a smooth running charging system. Because of AutoZone I lost over $1,500 of wages and their customer service is a mockery! Nobody at the regional office or corporate seems to care about the situation or horrible experience I went through. All of their customer service reps are non English speakers and this company is just overall garbage. There are so many better auto parts stores out there. I said hi and she basically ignored me and kept slamming down product on the shelves behind her and aggressively emptying totes.
