This is the best Auto Zone location in San Diego! I went in to exchange some windshield wipers that a different Auto Zone sold me (2nd time they did this) and Fernando set me up with the correct ones and even helped me put them on. I was off on my merry way to get my brakes and rotors done and when my car was on the lift, the mechanic realized that the same Auto Zone store that sold me the wrong wipers, sold me the wrong rear rotors. I called this El Camino Real store and Yuki told me she would track them down for me and call me back. She found them and even delivered them to the auto repair shop just down the road from the store she manages. I have never experienced such wonderful customer service as I did at this store. Thank you Yuki for being so patient and informative of your returns policies and thank you Fernando for taking the time to find the correct wipers and help me install them!! This particular location of Autozone is top-tier. The store is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I never thought I'd write a review about an auto parts store, but there is a marked difference between this stores and its competitors. I noticed that the manager was working to make sure the displays looked great and that the store and its products were orderly. One of the employees Sergio helped me solve a battery issue with my car and saved me a ton of money compared to the dealership. I was able to replace the battery on my Audi for $170 versus $380 which the dealer was going to charge; it took me all of 15 minutes to install the new battery with a little advice from Sergio. I returned brake pads and rotors because my mechanic said I didn't need them! Turns out my brakes were good still. However, 2 weeks later still no refund made. The person who helped me seemed very confused and untrained. I still have my receipts and return receipts so I will go to my bank and tell them what happened. Next time I am not purchasing anything at Autozone. read more

I've come to this Auto Zone three times in the past year. Each time was different employees, yet each time they were kind, friendly, and very helpful! They installed my new car battery -easy peasy! Today I had a problem with a dragging piece under the front of my car. They took the time to diagnose and fix my problem, giving me excellent advice. I saved a lot of money asking them before going to a garage that would most likely charge me for a diagnosis. It's easy to pull into this store and ask for help. I'm so grateful! I came to this store to get a front license plate frame and some license plate bolts for a used car I recently purchased. (Had no front plate). The staff was AWESOME!!! Super personable and offered advice on what I needed. After 3 packages of bolts and 2 license plate frames were opened, nothing worked. They finally stated I should go to Lexus because it appears to be a specialty part. Fast forward 2 weeks. I still have done nothing about not having a front license plate. Got busy. Came home and saw a new license plate holder on the car. I asked my wife where she got it, and she stated she walked into an auto parts store and asked, and that is what they gave her. It needed an "extension" kit. And she put it on herself to boot!!!! Can't expect the employees to know EVERYTHING about the various makes and models of cars and the parts that go in them. But needless to say, their kind offers of help and direction offset the fact they could not help me. read more

I went in to just get a a few car cleaning products that I normal would buy and normally I respond No, for additional suggestions but today was different. Branson updated me on all the latest products and gave me in depth detail about each and compared them to the others. Gave me some personal experience from use of certain products. Not Only Did He Find The Right Battery For Me ,But He Also Installed It For Us!!! Unfortunately We Didn't Have The Tools To Loosen Up The Tire ,So Fernando Used His Own Tools From His Car To Get The Job Done :) Even Though He Didn't Have To. I had some issues with my jeep this past week that took longer to fix than it really should have (my fault not any employee's). I visited this Autozone last weekend to buy a windshield wiper and have the other two installed. I was helped by a very nice young man who sold me the wiper blade I needed and with the help of the other employee they installed my wipers. Thank goodness they knew what they were doing as I could not understand the complicated instructions. It turned out the r tea parts that came with my blades were not needed. Great customer service! I went to another location in Oceanside and they refused to let me borrow their tools, even though I had purchased a brake bulb. I came to this store, and they were real nice and friendly. The guy let me borrow their tool box, and I was able to get my light fixed. I had other good experiences here! I went in here to get a battery and needed help in hooking it up and Hero was very helpful, educational and compassionate. I ended up striking up a friendship with him. Hearing his story about his father coming from Japan who ran his own shop in San Francisco for 50 plus years shows the world ethic he brought to his son working at Autozone in O'side. I believe she is the manager or higher person in charge, but she does not smile, she was pretty rude, and made me feel awkward. I was returning product and buying oil. This store is not very welcoming. The other girl working had a better attitude then their own manager. Won't be returning. read more
