She mentioned that she would waive the $98 service fee due to my husband being in the military. We were appreciative of that as costs due to the move we're adding up. One thing I would have loved to see in the app is the active offers coming in from different dealers. I wasn't sure if the offers that were coming in were accurate or not, or just made up numbers. The start was great--the app is smooth, and I received a call immediately after putting in my info. I was helping my office sell some cars and thought this would be a faster way to get it done. However, the process quickly turned frustrating. I told the rep, Britt, that we already had a Carmax offer for $12,500 and didn't want to waste anyone's time or money if they couldn't beat it. She "danced around" the question but eventually insisted her experience and systems showed we'd get more. Two days later, the offer was the exact same amount I already had. Instead of being upfront, she pressured me to take the "lowball" deal. To make matters worse, I ended up with a $98.00 bill for a service that provided zero added value. They acted like I was the one wasting their time, despite them failing to meet the price they promised. I recently had an extremely disappointing experience trying to sell my car through Carpair. When I reached out to Brittany, the business owner, I told her I wanted to sell my car for $16,000. She advised that might be a bit high but said she'd try her best and asked me to schedule an inspection. After the inspection, I was told by the inspector that Brittany would reach out the same day or the following day--but I didn't hear from her. Two days later, I had to call to follow up, only for her to ask if the inspection had already been completed, which was frustrating because how does she not know? After reviewing my car, Brittany suggested listing it between $11,000 and $13,000, FAR lower than I wanted. She then said "why not just list it and lets just see, ill try to get to as close as you want and see if you like the ending bid." I said no thank you BECAUSE it was just too low anyways. A couple days later I called again to let her know I wanted to go through and list it because I really wanted to sell the car, Brittany agreed to list it and said she'd get back to me with the final bid in a few hours. When she finally provided a bid, it was below my expectations, and I chose not to proceed with the sale. Despite this, she sent an unexpected $298 "service fee" invoice in the morning. I was confused by this charge, especially since I'd sold two cars through Carpair in past years without any fees. When I brought this up, Brittany responded that "Driveway auction probably went out of business because they didn't charge service fees" She then started saying that she was very knowledgeable in this business and that her "20+ years in the industry" made her time "too valuable" not to charge a service fee. She also claimed the invoice was actually an EXTRA charge because she'd listed it "as a favor" the first time, despite my initial decline. Throughout the conversation, I was respectful, but her condescending tone and lack of transparency were unprofessional. Overall, this experience was exhausting and disappointing. We just sold our 2014 Toyota Highlander and it was all thanks to Massimo and Colin. Massimo reached out to me because he saw my listing online. When I found out he was with a company and not an actual private party buyer, I was dubious to say the least. I told Massimo i would never get what I was looking to get by selling my vehicle to a dealership, as I know they are also looking to turn a profit. Without pressuring me, Massimo explained the process to me and I figured I had nothing to lose. Colin met me at a location that was convenient for me and did a quick, yet thorough inspection of my Highlander. (I'm actually going to use his process for my next used car purchase ). Massimo then went over the inspection with me and gave me a price range he thought the vehicle fell under. The price was a decent amount higher than what Carmax had offered but not what I was looking to get in the private party market. Again, I told him I was not eager to sell and gave him my minimum list price, which I felt they would never reach. The auction went live and I almost forgot about it because I really didn't expect to get what I asked. Massimo updated me and told me they were close. I had it set in my mind that I would not go one penny below my asking price. When the auction closed, the highest bid was $200 short of what I asked. A reasonable person would take that offer, but I'm not reasonable. Massimo never pressured me into lowering my asking price and said he was going to contact the highest bidder and see if they were willing to pay my asking price. To my absolute shock they did! I essentially sold my car to a dealership to what amounts to a private party price range. After the vehicle sold, I contacted the buyer and we arranged to meet at a bank to get my cashiers check. The whole process was so smooth I almost thought it was a scam! So if you're trying to sell your vehicle online, save yourself the headache and reach out to Massimo. Brittany didnt sell my car for more than I could have gotten from another dealer, but still wanted to charge me money so I'd be using her service to loose money. In fact, she changes the price of her service quoting you whatever she feels like. So didn't do anything special for me, then yelled at me over the phone that she didn't care what my car sold for. Just collects $300 and calls it a day, because like she said she doesn't care what your car actually sells for. If you have a couple hours to spend shopping around, you can generally beat CarMax/Carvana offers by at least $500, if not more, depending on the car. read more

This service worked wonderfully for my wife and I. We had purchased a new Tesla and so had an extra car. Rather than trade it in to Tesla, they recommended CarPair. When I reached out to CarPair they were kind, but closed so called me back the next day. We had a hard time understanding their business model, but the first step is they come to you to inspect the vehicle. I went ahead and made a same day appointment. The inspector showed up on time, was friendly and took about 20 minutes for a visual inspection, and turned on the engine, but did not drive the car. The following day, CarPair told me what they thought the car was worth but really it would be up to their dealer network to bid on it and we would sell to the dealer, not CarPair. I had a hard time understanding this concept but we went ahead and said give it a try. Worst case scenario, if we didn't like the best dealer offer we just keep the car and go somewhere else to sell it. CarPair worked their network and got to a dollar amount acceptable to us. For that service, they charge a small fee. We were given the contact of the acquiring auto dealer and set an appt. to sell the car to them at the prearranged price. That's exactly what we left with - a check for the exact amount - in about an hour's time at the dealer. I recommend CarPair in terms of getting a fair price and not a low-ball offer from dealers. It's a little more work than simply trade-in at the time you get a new car; but much less work than For sale by owner. read more

Britt was great. She saw our car posted for sale online and reached out to us. She sent her technician our way to look at the car, take pictures and get some measurements. Once we agreed on her fee, she listed the car on auction. She texted us live updates and asked if we want it to mark it as "Sold" or if to wait it out. She provided her expert opinion And we were happy with the final bid. unfortunately, the results after we took the car to dealership who bid on the car, were less than desirable, extremely frustrating. Found major prior issue with the car that was not listed on CarFax, but listed on other websites (Experian). She still advocated for us and, again, not desirable results, but nothing to do with CarPair. I would still recommend Britt and her team.
