As such, I've been to more than my fair share of estate sales over the years... no, over the DECADES. In all my time perusing estate sales, I feel saying that I've seen it all only scratches the surface! I've experienced firsthand sellers who were good at helping clients move estate items on to new homes, and I've had to deal with plenty of sellers that are positively unscrupulous and only out for lining their own pockets beyond the contract they agreed to with their client. Be very very careful when seeking out and hiring an estate sale company to do the hard work of selling your cherished estate after loved ones have passed. Believe you me, most estate sales folks fall into the latter group and those that SEEM to put up the most high end of events with lines and sign up lists and all that? They tend to be the very worst thieves of all! So why am I starting with all this so early in my review of BLAST ESTATE SALES? Well because they are the crème de la crème, nicest of the nice, and the most honest resellers in the game. Hands down! This small company consists of a married couple, "Nikki & Jeff," who work tirelessly and compliment one another perfectly! I've been to a dozen or so estate sales run by the lovely Nikki and her partner in life as well as business, Jeff, and those sales? Are indeed "a blast!" They truly are fun, with refreshments and cookies at the last one I attended. Each sale I've been to was well prepared by these two for a smooth and fun sale day that seems to garner good money and sales for the client while moving cherished items on to new owners, all of which were leaving with their purchases and a big smile. It's rare to find an estate sales company that understands the delicate and all important RELATIONSHIP between buyer and seller and Nikki and Jeff do right by all parties involved. That is why so many dealers and collectors alike follow them religiously and go to all their sales events... truly. Nikki and Jeff deserve your business if you find yourself with a home that needs to be cleared out and if you're just another collector like me, I recommend you follow them carefully and go to some of their sales for deals. I was hoping to sell several large items in the five figure range as well as many collectible pieces of Herend, Lladro, Royal Copenhagen and Waterford. The two day set up was a disaster. Their pricing methodology was a joke. I was hands on and kept a list of my items with the pricing. I was told this was a waste of time. Later, I found out why. All my collectibles were sold at garage sale prices. Also, items in my home not marked for sale were sold for peanuts without asking. I was ordered out of my home one hour prior to the sale start time on Day #1. They needed this time to "embellish" my sale without my knowledge. These items included fur coats on a rack, many purses of all sizes, scarves , "Chanel" sunglasses and professional jewelry cases. At the end of day #1 of the sale I arrived home with my house left unlocked and no staff present. My living room had been turned into a retail shop. The second day of the sale I arrived to my home earlier to be screamed at by the manager as their items from my living room were being packed up. No customers present. At my insistence I was handed a poor list of my items sold. I could only take a photo copy of it. I was then paid my 60%. Catherine made herself unavailable for the entire four day fiasco. Her "manager" was the most abusive, ruthless and uncaring human being I have ever dealt with. Please stay away at all cost! Beware!!!
