I overheard others saying how overpriced everything was and I wish I had listened and walked out because the woman running the sale, Genevieve, ended up being very mean. I asked a question and she was combative straight away. As I was leaving I inquired about a receipt and she ignored me on purpose. I talked to John before and during the sale, cool guy. He said if you grab a big stash, he'll work with you on prices. Most things were priced, except clothing, so I grabbed what I *thought* I wanted and headed to the checkout table. He was too busy with customers to give me prices, so I headed to the checkout table where his wife was. What a mistake! She started spouting out prices on things, some acceptable, some unreasonable. She was asking $20 for a no-name stained dress that had a big tear in it. I'm not talking like a tear on a seam that can be easily repaired, like a big noticeable tear in the middle of the dress that you wouldn't be able to repair without a big eye sore - not to mention the stain that may or may not come out. So, again, I said pass. I think I passed on a total of 6 items after spending $200 and a 4 hour round trip drive. When I went to pay, she rudely and loudly said 'You should find some other estate sale to go to; this isn't the place for you!' I was literally shocked. I just gave you money, and you insulted me. IT COSTS $0 TO BE KIND. I've seen all the negative feedback here being about her, and her book-length responses defending herself. I really hope they can find a pleasant 'face of the company' that gets them some good reviews, because she's certainly not it. read more

We used the services of Johnevieve April 29-May 1-2021 to sell my recently deceased father in law's estate items. I cannot say enough about John and Genevieve. They are the nicest most professional people to work with! Their staff is equally as great! It is never easy to have to clear out a house that is full of memories but John and Genevieve did it in such as way that my husband was not be too stressed out about the whole thing. Used for an estate sale at my Grandparents home of over 70 years. Sure wish I had taken pictures of prices. They sold items which were not listed on the final sale sheets. Have still refused to give me the agreed upon portion for a large item, after numerous attempts. I asked for copies of sales slips, they refused to provide. They left the house a mess, didn't lock up or close any windows on the last day of the sale. I would recommend for any one looking to use them to sit at the table and watch the prices things are being sold for. You have a right to know. read more

Let me add that I NEVER GOT KICKED OUT OF THIS SALE (or any sale EVER) due to that fact that did I most of my dealings with John (extremely nice guy). I know how to keep my composure unlike the mad woman yelling and belittling her customers right out of the sale. Secondly, I spent over $700 on items which included the only 5 pieces of Jay Strongwater. I initially went to this sale because of posted pictures clearly showing a case of Strongwater pieces. I was there at the beginning of the sale but all I found were trash bags full of empty Jay Strongwater boxes. What Genevieve did with the Jay Strongwater pieces, is anyone's guess. These items would be estimated in hundred thousands of dollars. The owners of this lovely estate were a gay couple who were collectors of fine treasures. Please do not use this company which does not " care about their clients ". Although this gay couple may not have had next of kin to speak up for them, being gay myself, they are my extended family and I will ‍.With hundreds of big Jay Strongwater pieces, it was the equivalent of a lady's jewelry box of her finest diamond jewelry gone missing. Furthermore, posting pictures of the gentleman's underwear was disrespectful and I didn't find amusing. The woman , Genevieve, is a liar and dishonest. I dare to say she's slightly homophobic. I was accompanied by two friends and we were all treated badly for no apparent reason. Anyone that went to that sale, will remember opening trash bags full of empty boxes. I did keep my receipts FYI! There were appointments where they were late and emails/text messages that received no response or additional follow-up to get feedback (these don't include the time during their family emergency). The address for the estate sale was incorrect on their website. Inventory sold and paperwork was very generalized and incorrect information was initially provided as to where the remaining goods were donated. The check from the sold goods, bounced. They did deliver a cashier's check. I would not recommend this company. read more

The great thing about telling the truth is that you never have to remember anything. So here is a story, that happened to me, Wednesday this week, and again today, Friday, that's true. Yet, the woman with the rotten people skills always wants to explain how estate sales vs garage sales work as some excuse for her rude treatment of people and her unprofessional behavior. JOHNEVIEVE: The worst estate sale experience ever. Unprofessional. Rude. Extremely poor people skills. Nasty/unkind attitude. Went to the current June 25-27, 2020 estate sale at 1470 N. Blake, Orange, CA 92867. The woman running the show either hates men or hasn't yet figured out that people with money in their pocket are their bread and butter. Maybe there's a reason this estate sale company, who also masquerades as an art installation and delivery expert has no links to social media presence on their website whatsoever because if they treat me this way they treat many people this way and you will read many reviews like this. What did I do wrong? My first mistake was going to the estate sale a day early. I didn't know I was off a day. I was in the garage (the whole house was open with unidentified people walking around (I thought we're customers like me). I was talking to them, asking questions, getting a lot of "I don't knows" (no one identified themselves as estate sale company staff, asked me to leave, or kindly said the sale starts tomorrow) when this horrid woman comes out and rudely screeches, "please leave. Now!" in a low guttural yet fingernails across the blackboard tone. I looked at her as if to ask, "what?!" seeking understanding only to make eye contact with a face of untamed anger. "Trying to ask what was up I was greeted with the third grating demand to depart the premises, yet I did get in the fact I thought the estate sale was today to which I was told I was the only idiot to misread the dates on estate sales . net. I said I wasn't an idiot, trying to turn this negative situation around I humorously rebutted that I was not yet an idiot: I was a half-wit trying to get promoted to full idiot. She said she liked this and was going to use it again, yet, she completely failed at establishing rapport with her potential end user. Me. I returned to the sale today, and low and behold, rather than chalking my first experience up to a bad day was again greeted by the same acrid woman and her caustic, toxic personality who insisted on telling me the differences between estate sales and garage sales. (Yes, her prices were on the ridiculously high side). I found two items I wanted but in a fit of fury at the payment table took them from my hands and again told me to leave refusing to engage in any sort of pleasantry of convivial discourse. I've met a lot of people in my day. A retired strategic management consultant to Chairmen and Board Members as well as Senior C-Suite and key line management executives at the world's most knowledgeable and demanding companies I spend more money every year on collectibles than this woman's company makes. I've worked with more people in one year than this woman has known in a lifetime and she has a long way to go before gaining proficiency in any face-to-face activity with the public. She obviously doesn't know how to have, or maintain, a great attitude. And she doesn't know where she is or where she is going which always answers the question why am I doing this. It's apparent she dislikes what she is doing. She's in the wrong line of work and my advice is two fold. Be nice to people if you want to get the most money from them, and, she's in the wrong lien of work-dismissing people with the back of her hand as she couldn't care less turns away-her staff standing there with their opps she did it again look on their faces. And this was just my first experience. Gotta go back to increase my sample size. After all, you never get a second chance to make a first impression, right?! read more

Ok experience at the last sale, and they had coffee which was a nice touch. However their prices are slightly higher than other estate sale companies. Even on the last few hours of the sale the woman would not budge or bundle certain tems. I left them there because the price was close to what I could get those items new for on Amazon. At that point, when the sale is right about to end, there is no point in them not negotiating because nobody else will buy those items at that point and that just means lost sales and less revenue for the clients they are servicing. read more

Would NOT recommend. We hired them to handle our estate sale and it was beyond disappointing. It was originally scheduled for the 2nd to last weekend in October, and then they unexpectedly changed it to the last weekend of the month. We had to be out of the apartment by the 31st and they promised we would. They began the sale on a Thursday, which they said would only be to private clients. It began Thur. at 1:00 p.m. That turned out to be a "public" sale and they posted it last minute. So Friday would be the second day - where they lower everything to 50%!!! That was so unfair because the first day was from only 1-5, not a full day and not very well publicized and they said they would only do one more day, Friday. We were originally told it would run Fri and Sat. After we pushed them to do it for one more day, they opened it again on Saturday from 9-12. They lowered things so much we might as well have had a garage sale. We did have a lot of high quality items - and many antique and vintage pieces. It also came to our attention that they were holding one or two OTHER estate sales the same weekend. The worst part was that according to our verbal agreement, and contract, they were supposed to take care of taking everything away. They neglected to tell us that would cost us over $800!!! Yes $800, which ate into a huge chunk of our profit. Had we known this, we could have thrown out and/or taken away the unsold items ourselves and saved hundreds of dollars! They also promised to have it all out by the 31st (which was a Sunday), but they were too busy to come on Sunday so they came on Monday, which cost me a day of rent. We also found them flaky at times, and had to call or text multiple times to get a response. It took weeks to finally get our payment. They sent the check on Thanksgiving weekend when the sale ended 10/30. The first check they sent didn't have our correct address for some reason so it took 2 weeks to get to us. While we thought it was lost, they did send a replacement. They should have sent it FedEx, not regular snail mail. Overall it was a very unpleasant experience. read more

Since I didn't go to the RBFM prepared or expecting to make a big purchase - I opted for delivery the next morning for an additional charge but WORTH IT. Their 2 guys showed up prepared, so nice, and quick despite my tiny Titanic style elevator and tiny LA apartment! Also an added bonus were some clay pot stains being removed for me before delivery that were accidentally made the day they were at the flea market.
