lol what a joke. Scalpers and scammers! None of the good items posted in pictures on Instagram are ever there in person. The ladies are actually really rude, but only to people of color lol i stood there watching for a bit because at first i was like no it's probably something else but all the white people got a "HEY! How's it going?" Followed with a smile. Every person of color got a "are you ready?" And that's about it. They're also not organized. I've been to plenty estate sales and 1) the prices outrageous but 2) have some sort of organization to them. These are just like open the door and let them rummage through. They also charge sales tax and don't offer a receipt which is illegal i might add! I cannot in good conscience give this a rating; even one star WOULD BE TOO GENEROUS of a rating. I utilized the services of Jessica Mercer to conduct an Estate Sale for our family's home. Due to an untimely death of a family member, we were forced to close down his home. My husband and I arrived two days after his death and were immediately thrown into the unfortunate situation of cleaning out the house and consequently selling it. To facilitate our endeavors, we contracted with Jessica Mercer to handle the sale of the household items. It is a very tedious job to go through and organize a home. One has expectations that the Estate Sale personnel would be professional and knowledgable in dealing with multiple and numerous household items. This was not the case! We encountered multiple problems and as a result, I CANNOT AND WILL NOT recommend Stellar Estate Sales. It is unfortunate that in dealing with an untimely death the Estate sales personnel contributed to the angst and overall dissatisfaction. 1) There was INADEQUATE Stellar Estate personnel to supervise EACH room and monitor the contents of said rooms. ACTUALLY, EACH ROOM DID NOT HAVE A STAFF MEMBER MONITORING. This house is 2100 sq feet, with 9 rooms / a garage and yard. The ensuing chaotic mess was a result of people merely tossing things wherever they wanted. Stellar Estate personnel made NO attempt to keep an orderly display of items. 2) The house after the first day of a two-day / two weekend sale, was a disaster. Things were strewn all over the house. I asked Jessica if this was "normal" for an Estate Sale to have a total mess and disregard for the owners property. Frankly, I have gone to Estate Sales, Garage Sales and Yard Sales.... I always found the Estate Sales to be more of a civilized event and the property was ALWAYS neat, tidy and treated respectfully. Garage Sales were not as organized. Yard Sales were that...a yard sale where it was a free-for-all. The Estate Sale at the home was a far cry from an organized and tidy affair. 3) Plants in containers were sold. That was fine. BUT they DUG UP a 30 year old StagHorn Fern from a planted area, which means it was part of the property! In the process of doing so, they felled a tree that was also in the planted area. We are fortunate that as the tree came down, no one was hurt and/or damage to the patio. To reiterate: IT WAS PLANTED IN THE GROUND AND AS SUCH, WAS PART OF THE PROPERTY. ..IT WAS NOT IN AN INDIVIDUAL CONTAINER. 4) Pricing was very irradic. It was apparent that she marked items at 75%off of current market price. (A plastic milk carton holder from the 60's, which may have originally been purchased for .99 cents, she marked for $5.00!!!) A 10 pc set of NEW ALL CLAD cookware still in its shipping box, she proceeded to pull out of the shipping box and mark each piece for $40.00.... this set would retail for close to $1,200.00!! Because the pricing was so inappropriate, I removed it from the sale. 5) We had items inside of a LOCKED BOX which was part of a safe. The safe was closed and the box was locked. Someone PRIED open the LOCKED box and took the contents. Obviously the items were taken to the front register and sold...so HOW could she sell them when they were NOT MARKED??? And Yes, the items were family history that we had planned to take home with us and they were left in a LOCKED BOX for safekeeping. THEY ARE NOW GONE. 6) We gave Jessica the files for certain items so that if sold, the new owner would have the keys to a safe; the title for a boat. When we went back to the house, the files were MISSING and the items HAD not sold. Once again, we asked her the whereabouts of the files... She did not know!! It was very obvious that when we were talking with her, she DID NOT LISTEN/ pay attention or she would have known the importance of safeguarding those files. I could go into minute details about the problems that were present but I believe these highlight the more EGREGIOUS problems. As I stated earlier, I would NOT recommend Stellar Estate Sales. It was an experience that was marred with numerous serious problems. As one family member commented, we paid her 40% of all proceeds. It was way too much to pay her. read more

Today was my first time going to one of their sales and I was struck by what a great job they did. Everything was very organized, they addressed the crowd before the sales with do's and don'ts, the workers were very friendly and most importantly the prices were on point and reasonable so it's ACTUALLY worth your time to stand on line in the morning! (I stopped going to other sales run by companies whose prices just do not make sense). The yellow shirts make it easy to distinguish who's running the sale if you have a question. Overwhelmed by my parents passing on 65+ years of collectibles and "things" in their home, it was a godsend that I heard about Jessica and her team at Stellar. A dear friend had used her who was in a similar situation as mine and had very positive things to say about her. After 2 families and 2 weekends trying to clear out one room at a time, we hardly made a dent in our project. That's when we heard about Jessica. She told me, "Don't clean out another cupboard or closet and don't throw anything away. We will do it all." What? So we can stop here? What a relief to turn everything over to her. She got to work organizing, categorizing, pricing, etc, days ahead of the sale and then advertised and alerted all of her followers on Social Media (she has many!). What a turnout! So, we were going to box and bag up 65+ years of clothes, kitchenware, collectibles, furniture and wall hangings and donate them and rent dumpsters, spending all our time off on this project. Instead, we turned everything over to Jessica and she brought in well over $7000 in two days, donated and hauled off the rest and left the house swept clean. In a very difficult time she saved our family from a lot of extra stress. We so appreciate how she treated our family's property with respect and was responsible, honest and fair. This is a review is as a shopper / buyer. Everything Tom S. says is true and then some. I got there early and was high on the list. Two hours early. When the time for the sale comes one of the employees comes up and picks up the list, except she announces there are TWO LISTS. She calls a LOT names off of the "hidden" list and scatters a few in from the people who have been waiting since early morning. There were at least 100 people. Some of those who went in early appeared to be children of the ladies running the sale, or children of their friends. I'm pretty sure I saw some of them go in earlier that morning under the rope and then come back out. They were Beatles records indicated in the sale as well. I saw no one pull them, and I never saw them in the house. I'm not sure they even entered the general sale. If they pre-sold them, they needed to pull the photos. Even then they said pre-sales were ONLY on large furniture items. Utter c**p and borderline unethical. If you wanna see how a proper sale is run, go to Grason's sales.
