AutoNation Mazda Carlsbad It was a pleasure meeting Everyone person Saturday when i went to purchase my Mazda CX-50. Ash Keshtmand, Sales Manger mentioned to me that he wanted to earn my business and he did that and more !! An additional thank you and appreciation to sorting out a missed option issue. I believe we both came together with a win-win in the complete overall sale and transaction on everything!! The whole team was great from Sunny, to Esmerald to Austin in finance. It was a pleasure dealing with ALL of them in in a smooth transaction from start to finish. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to purchasing a Mazda to go AUTONATION Mazda Carlsbad !! A premier Mazda dealer in San Diego, Hands Down!!

I was ready to replace my 2011 Mazda3 Hatchback & found my new car on Carfax at Autonation Mazda Carlsbad. My sales rep was Ian Moss & he was knowledgeable & a true gentleman. I fell in love at 1st sight with my 2021 Corolla hatchback. Ian was patient & helpful during the whole process. I highly recommend him & the dealership!

I've been working with Leo for about a month now on negotiating a vehicle. I will say Leo has been extremely helpful throughout the process. My credit was checked and I signed to have a vehicle held for me when it arrived as it wasn't on lot yet. I was out of the country when the vehicle finally arrived and was being pressed to e-sign for a car I've never seen in person to avoid losing out on deal terms / December incentives. I've never signed for a car without test driving and seeing it in person. I noticed some bubbles / ripples in the seats in the photos that were posted online so I decided to return home early from my trip to see car in person before signing. Today, I went in and test drove the car but it did have factory defects in seating upon arrival. Leather has tons of ripples and is completely warped in some areas. This is unacceptable for a brand new vehicle fresh off the truck. It's not the dealerships fault, it's a Mazda production issue. However, the dealership should stand by the product they sell and correct the issues. I was working with Chase and Leo to see if the seats could be fixed. Time was not in my favor though, I kept being told that I face potentially losing out on deal terms if I didn't sign today. I was not comfortable driving the car off the lot yet as it was raining badly and couldn't do a thorough walk around plus I was already dissatisfied with the interior condition. Chase and Leo acknowledged my concerns and the issues with the seats and said they'd try to work on it. I went home and contemplated signing everything even though a resolution had not been fully presented. I still didn't feel good about things so I called the dealership to see if I could get some reassurance prior to signing and placing deposit. That's when I was connected to Sonny because Chase and Leo were gone for the day. I completely lost all faith after speaking with Sonny. He told me he had two employees look at the car and saw a video for himself and nothing is wrong with the car. That this car is in the same condition as any other car on their lot. Well, if this is the condition of all cars then Mazda has major issues with their manufacturing of seats. Sonny said he was happy I didn't buy the car and that he wasn't going to help fix anything. I told him he was going against what Leo and Chase already agreed too. It's New Year's Eve, I've spent over a month waiting on this car. I had my credit checked for this specific car and everything. I cannot believe that Sonny is the sales manager and telling me that there is nothing wrong with the seats when they have defects that others have already acknowledged. I completely lost faith after my conversation with Sonny and wish I never spoke with him. I'm so frustrated and upset with my experience. Sonny told me they would sell the car to someone else. Anyone purchasing a $60k car is going to expect it to be in pristine condition so if you don't fix it for me, you'll likely have to fix it for the next person anyway. And guess what Sonny, I can buy this car from somewhere else for the same deal without all the pressure and reverse psychology tactics. Happy New Year! VIN: JM3KKEHC5T1362250

THANK YOU TO CHASE! I could not have done this without him. What started off as a very stressful experience, a weight has now been lifted off my shoulders. Thank you to everyone at Autonation Carlsbad. Chase, Austin, Sonny, and Esme, I appreciate you all. I will recommend you to everyone I know. I am so happy with my purchase and am so grateful. Thank you x a million!

Tyler is a fantastic person to deal with. The whole team at AutoNation Mazda in Carlsbad were fantastic. I typically purchase cars through private party, and was amazed with my experience at AutoNation Mazda. Go see Tyler for used and new car needs. Thanks Tyler!!

From the very beginning, the entire process was smooth and professional. Martin was the first person we met, and he was genuinely helpful and grateful to show us any vehicle we wanted to see. When it came time to complete the deal, Lucky made the experience truly memorable. He treated us with the greatest respect, especially as someone who served in the military. His love for America and deep appreciation for service members was joyful and sincere. He shared that his father was an officer during the Vietnam War, and hearing his story really touched my wife and me. I would strongly recommend that any military member--active or retired--or anyone looking for a respectful and streamlined car-buying experience ask for Lucky when purchasing a vehicle at Toyota Carlsbad. My family and I will absolutely be Toyota Carlsbad customers from this point forward.

Really weird experience and will never come back here…read more Right when we got there, the sales guys were speeding around in a golf cart yelling at each other about taking someone's customer outside of their rotation order. Walking up, there were maybe 6 or 7 of them standing in a group trying to figure out who would help us, and nobody even said hello. Someone finally came over, we gave our whole spiel, but another sales guy walked up interrupting mid-conversation to poach us. Their exchange right in front of us was passive aggressive about commission and rotation order which was a huge turnoff. The original guy disappeared without a word, so we had to repeat everything all over again. The second guy was condescending about what we were looking for, an older used car under $15k. I said "under $15k" before saying "older" and he scoffed and said "well for $15k yeah, it would have to be older," like I was an idiot. Then he launched into a lecture about how dealerships would never carry something like that, so we left. We had literally just test driven a super clean 2013 used car for $8k at Mazda down the street. I definitely wouldn't come back here knowing their team talks to customers like that. A complete circus from start to finish. Too many sales guys on one shift foaming at the mouth to poach customers and saying whatever they can to strip your confidence and make you pay more. Plenty of other car places around to take your business!

All the cars were open so we got to check them out thoroughly. I haven't had that experience at other dealerships it was nice. We wandered around for at least 30 minutes before anyone even approached us. That was both weird and refreshing. Finally, Jaden came out and spent a lot of time answering questions and letting my friend test drive. He was in full sales mode, but once he realized that my friend was just beginning his search and they didn't have exactly what he wanted, he relaxed. My friend was very happy with the experience and will definitely contact Jayden when he is ready. We learned a lot of valuable information about Subaru's though. I just got a Subaru in June in Northern California and was vetting the dealership for myself since I will need use them in the future. I'm still learning the car and had a ton of questions. Jayden dealt with my barrage of questions patiently, knowledgeably and with humor. I know I'll be dealing with the service department so this review is only for our experience with Jaden and I will update when my car needs service.

One word. Tanner…read more(service advisor). He legit has changed my mind about Lexus. I've had horrible service over the years from Escondido and San Diego. I was going to get rid of my (paid off) car and get into a non Lexus lease because I was getting frustrated and annoyed with service advisors. The Carlsbad location is a further drive and the center seems older. But I can tell you it was WORTH IT because of Tanner. He was upfront, honest, and knowledgeable when I first spoke to him. I needed brake pads and possible new rotors. I just trusted him when he said to first pay for the brake diagnostic (I think it was like $59.95?) and they'll know exactly the issue to see exactly what needs to be done. The fee will go directly towards any service and it wasn't a loss as I knew for sure my brake pads were worn badly. The loaner department was also quick and efficient (I think the guy's name was David?). He got me their newer 2025 RX to the loaner and I totally understand why they give Lexus loaners as I emailed tanner to say hey wait don't do the service as I may just trade in the car (kinda half joking here). But I know which car I'll be getting in the next two years now. The brake service was PERFECT. I didn't need new rotors (yes!!) but was super close to it (as i expected). I also decided to get a full interior/exterior detail for the car (haven't had it since owning it so it was much needed). I am back today for the alignment (got the wheels at Costco few min away as their 4 tire special beat Lexus). Hopefully alignment went well but I wouldn't expect anything less at this point with Tanner and his team here. Thank you Carlsbad Lex!

Vehicle: 2017 Lexus RX350…read more The vehicle developed an oil leak that was diagnosed by both an independent mechanic and a Lexus dealership as a rear main seal leak at approximately 76,940 miles. The Lexus dealership estimated the repair cost at $9,388.62. Lexus declined to provide assistance with the repair. I am posting this to document the issue for other owners. UPDATE (March 2026): After the business responded publicly saying they wanted to look further into this matter, I reached out directly to the contact they provided. I did not receive any response or follow-up. Just sharing this for transparency.

Why I won't get repairs done again at AutoNation, and why you shouldn't either…read more So, three stars? Well, that's not terrible. No, the service wasn't great, and the intake people weren't either. The job wasn't terrible, nor outrageously priced, and the free car wash is always nice. So, what's the problem? Well, many of us like to charge everything to get miles, points, or cash back. (Of course, you should only do this if you pay off your credit cards each month.) There's been a deal with merchants for a long time: You let us charge, and you take the credit cards' 2% to 4% merchant fee. We visit your place because you allow us to do this. It's understandable that many places have a minimum to use your charge card. If you're buying a two-dollar candy bar, the merchant doesn't want to pay any fee. However, all over the US, if it's more than ten bucks, you can charge it. It has become more common lately to see some places, like restaurants, charge for using a card or give a discount for paying cash. However, restaurants have a very slim profit margin. Auto repairs can cost anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. AutoNation, and I assume all of them around the country, are now charging 2% for using a credit card. There's no reason for this "bite back" except to squeeze the juice from the consumer - juice they always paid. By the way this fee is not shown on their website (or at least not that I saw.) There's a small sign the workstations inside that try to tell you that this is to your benefit. So, if you have a choice, don't go to AutoNation or any other profitable business that does this. It will only encourage it to spread. (Side note: The best way to work credit cards for miles or points is to charge everything. However, you MUST pay it off in full each month. If you can't do that, then don't charge anything. The vig, 30%, would make a 50's loan shark blush with embarrassment.)

Unfortunately I have to continue coming here because it is the only dealership in the area but this…read moreis the worst run dealership I've ever experienced. Before this I had a Honda and a ford and I've never experienced such poor service. I made an appt to take my car in for a minor issue, I showed up on time and they said oh for that issue you have to come back another time after I already arranged to deal with the car that day for work. Then I came back the second time and they said oh we won't be able to resolve your issue today but you will have to leave your car all day long until someone can even look at it then we'll have to order parts then you'll have to bring it back. So they looked at it and said they ordered the part and they'll call me when they have it jn. Flash forward almost 2 months later I never heard back from anyone. I called the dealership and the girl in service said she had no idea what I was talking about and no one had ordered a part or had record of my service so "she'd check with my tech" and call me back...2 weeks later still never heard back.
