Went a few weeks ago for a birthday. We had a reservation, but that didn't seem to matter. Didn't get a scrap of bread to eat until half an hour in, meanwhile people who got there later than us were already being served entrees. There was little to zero AC on a 100 degree day, and asking for water from the staff seemed like torture for them because as they said "they were out of clean glasses". You know those cute, dust covered canopies they put over the table to make it seem more like a forest? Yeah, that blocks what minimal AC they may actually offer. When the food finally arrived almost 90 minutes later, the short ribs were bland and my salmon seemed undercooked. We were a party of eight and not one person in our party was blown away by their meal, especially for the cost. Also a lady sitting at the table next to us, had salad dressing poured down the back of her white shirt by a waitress not paying attention. Hurts to drop this kind of money on dinner only to be so dissapointed in the quality. Took the entire family of 5 for an evening out. I had the Filet Mignon, wife and daughter split the Beef Short Ribs and the other kids of course went with the crepes. This review is strickly on the food because our server and staff were awesome. Also enjoyed the Irish boys singing. My filet mignon was ordered medium-rare and although I expected the steak to not be flaming hot, it was cold and lacking any flavor. Probably could have been cooked a few more minutes as it felt more raw than rare inside. The filet tasted as though it wasn't seasoned. The mashed potates and brussel sprouts were good. But still, its hard to screw up a filet mignon. Quality of meat was so so. The short ribs were also lacking major flavor. Same thing, no seasoning. Extremely disappointed with our experience at Enchanted Forest last night. The idea and actual restaurant is such a magical idea but the service and quality of food was some of the worst Ive ever witnessed. We had reservations and were seated promptly, but then waited 15 minutes to even see our server. On a busy night, I would totally understand but the restaurant was empty and they had plenty of staff just standing around. When we finally were attended to, our server was rude and told us that there was nothing actually available on the drink menu other than wine and ciders. We ordered our food and waited another long period of time just to be served some of the blandest and undercooked vegetables and over cooked meats/fish ever. And everything was cold. Visited The Enchanted Forest for a Friendsgiving dinner last night. It was a cool little spot with great customer service. Our party included 6 adults and I felt that the forest booth was a bit tight for 6 adults. Nonetheless, the food and drinks were good and the environment was lively. I was surprised there was a 3-man band playing on a Sunday night, but that was interesting. Overall, I am glad that I got to experience this place, but I think that the "enchanted" experience would likely be more enjoyable for children and young teens. read more

Came in on a Saturday afternoon and were seated fairly quickly without having a reservation. Me and my boyfriend were serviced about 5 minutes after arriving. After placing our order, our server called the kitchen "feisty" upon delivering our appetizer and forgot our spoons for the soup. The lobster seafood bisque was probably the best part of the meal. Afterwards we received our main course meat fondue which was decent. The novelty of the fondue was far superior to the taste. The selection of sauces were the highlight of the fondue experience. The reason this review did not exceed 2 stars was due to our wait staff. He pretty much left us alone once delivering the fondue and sat at the bar next to our table on his phone, drinking something from a paper cup. He did not notice that our beverages were getting low/empty and it took him a while to notice. This is highly unprofessional for the price point of the establishment. When paying higher prices, you expect a higher quality of service. We were just unimpressed. read more

In the area visiting and our friend wanted to bring us here. So cute! Reminded me of my quick trip to Ireland with the fairy tree and the staff dressed in fairy dresses. Each guess was gifted a fairy head wreath to take home. We ordered fondue for 2 - even with 3 of us we couldn't finish all the dippables! Then we had the audacity to order crepes (what were we thinking - I would have been full without). We ordered: Butternut Squash Crepes (yumm, even the vegan italian sausage in it), Strawberry Banana Crepe, and the Truffle Mushroom Swiss crepe. We all enjoyed them and even took some home. And of course, one must try a flavor or two of the Mead. 2 of us had the Mango flavor. Everything was delectable. The staff was attentive and the music was perfect! It's more of a destination - and mostly couples, but we were in the early shift and there were a couple of young girls there, just in awe. read more

Less than satisfied. We travelled from San Jose (3 hour drive) because I wanted to take my wife and friends to have an enchanted experience. I had made the reservations a month in advance. They sat us in the front window away from the back enchanted part. If you go, ask not to be seated in the front window. The food was OK. We all felt it was overpriced. I've wanted to eat at the Enchanted Forest for a while now, but haven't had time to do so. We went this evening, and while it was a very unique experience, it left a lot to be desired. It does not have air conditioning- it was hotter inside the restaurant than it was outside. Things were quite dusty- the decorations are quite whimsical, but clearly aren't being dusted or cleaned. While the staff was pleasant, we didn't feel particularly welcome. We saw the kitchen through the curtains and it was quite messy. We didn't see this until after our food came out. The food was actually great- although overpriced for the environment provided. If the restaurant was cleaner/friendlier it would be worth the price. The live music was nice, but we were seated directly in front of the band- one of our party was less than 2ft away from the band. It was difficult to hold a conversation where we were seated. The biggest issue was that the white wine was not chilled, making it undrinkable. This restaurant is in wine country, so this is a pretty big surprise. We weren't given steak knife with our steaks, and had to request them twice. I'm glad we went, but we definitely wouldn't visit again. It's a really cool place, but they need to fix some things to make it a worthwhile experience. read more

I used to LOVE this place. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and enjoyed it all, most of the time. The last few times I've dined in the food has been less than fresh and flavorful. Been wanting to go here for years. Soooooo disappointed!!! Upon walking in, it's very warm and stuffy. The waitress was not friendly at all. The lighting is not sufficient to read the menu or see your food. Ordered the baked Brie, it came with Triscuits and butter crackers. Ordered the larger filet mignon to split with someone. The first and third bites were FAT ($57 steak). The waitress did discount it after we told her. They are known for braised short rib, they were out of stock that night. The cocktails were drab, couldn't taste any alcohol at all. The men in the kitchen wore tank tops and had long UNCOVERED hair. 3 people out of 5 became sick with diarrhea. We had dinner for 5 on Sunday, 8/10/24. Not only was the ambiance perfectly charming and fun, but the service was completely amazing!! Our server,, Sabrina (I called her "Sabrina Fair!) Was so very friendly and attentive. The food was down right fabulous, but the menuhad really diverse choices so all 5 of us we quite pleased with our meals. We booked 6 for Christmas Day evening for my daughter's birthday (yes she was born a Christmas baby 32 years ago)and had a wonderful time! We got there a bit early and was promptly seated. We had the four course fondue dinner which was so cool. The servers were so darling and wearing the little lit up crown they gave us was a fun touch! You can even purchase elf ears to wear from the bar! The atmosphere was done up so cute like a fairy grotto with a beautiful enchanted tree in the middle of the restaurant. We will definitely return again sometime, it was worth the 1 hour drive. read more

After seeing this on the TV show " best bites "I was really excited to try this place. Over all it was just ok. The service was really good. The interior was really cute. We had a great table in the back under the tree. We enjoyed the lighted head bands they were really fun. What was not the best was the food and the prices for what you received. We ordered two appetizers. One was the shrimp which I would definitely not recommend as the garlic sauce overpowered, and was almost uneditable.. The second was decent. It was the prosciutto wrapped asparagus. We had a party of 4. My husband ordered the short ribs. He thought they were OK, but I thought they were horrendous. The taste in the mead was not good. Usually a short rib shreds apart. These were very tough. The potatoes underneath were OK and the salad was OK. The two others in our party had the creamy vegetable pasty. They thought they were OK. I had the Irish gold miner -pasty. I was really expecting something grand but it did not deliver. I could taste corn beef, but it was chopped so fine. I couldn't tell if there were potatoes or sauerkraut in the filling . The seasonal vegetables were good, but just 4 pieces not very much. The salad dressing was good. As we were celebrating a birthday, we did try dessert. I got the blackberry Keylime pie. That was the best thing I ate. If you are looking for a fun place it does deliver but if you're looking for great food, this is not the place. read more

My partner and I visited this restaurant on a Friday. We made a reservation just in case, because the place had specific areas that you could sit at, so we tried to snag a spot. It was chaotic when we walked in when they opened, but to be fair, the person who was behind the bar seemed like she was overwhelmed doing like 10 jobs with what seemed like missing employees. A guy finally came in later to work at the bar and that helped relieve the girl. We waited for a while to receive service/have our food orders taken. While waiting, we noticed some tension between the staff, and some seemed upset walking around. When our food arrived, it was pretty good. The carrots on our plate were very oily, but the other food was good. We didn't order the fondue, but if we go again, we'll try that out. I would recommend the restaurant, but not at 4:00 when they open. It might have been a one off day but for a Friday, but they seemed unprepared when opening. Our first impression of the restaurant was that it was really cute, nicely decorated, pretty dim, and the hostess was really welcoming and sweet. We were a party of 8 and the booth they reserved for us was tiny so they had to add an extra table to the end of it. How they thought we would all fit in that little booth is beyond me, but they made it work. Upon closer inspection, the decorations were dirty, tacky, and cheap. The food choices were okay, we were all able to find something we liked except for the kids. The kid's menu is very limited and costs about as much as ordering from the regular menu. We were greeted by our waitress (I don't remember her name) and she seemed nice enough. She took our drink orders and came back around promptly to take our food orders. The drink menu is a little limited but standard. My husband wanted a second beer and when he asked for one the waitress proceeded to flirt with him in front of all of us which was funny. It was such an obvious gesture that my youngest who is 11 even looked at me and said "what was that all about?" after she left. We laughed about it and moved on, even if that wouldn't be the last time she did it during our time there. The food came out and that's when things took a turn. The kid's menu chicken on a stick was so bad and dry that one of the kids would not take another bite. Typically our kids will eat what's on their plate but that was not the case here. My other kid had a crepe with chicken in it but the chicken tasted like fish (our 11 year old had the same dish and he would not take another bite as well). I thought the kids might be overreacting, so I took a bite and it was inedible. It really did taste like fish. My salad was a mediocre goat cheese salad, how you can mess that up is beyond me, but I ate it. My husband had the KING STEAK, it was more like a king medallion and we laughed at him for a solid 10 minutes about it because it was just that disappointing. The mashed potatoes it came with were sour and the portions were interesting. His steak was so dry and chewy, luckily it was a 2 bite steak so he didn't have to endure it for long. My sister and her husband had a pasty pie each and they took one bite and couldn't continue because it was inedible to them (again, we are people who typically eat whatever is on our plate even if it's disappointing). The lobster bisque was hilariously gross, it was just melted (what we assumed to be kraft singles) cheese. We noticed that a few tables near us were also complaining about their food and we realized it seemed to be a trend there, which was interesting because I had looked at the reviews beforehand and they all seemed like good reviews. Anyway, we are not really ones to complain so we didn't say much during the meal. We ended up just asking the waitress to take our plates which were full of food, no one really ate. That's when her attitude towards us began to shift. She took some plates and came back and asked if we wanted boxes. When we politely said no, she became snarky and said "well give me those plates then" and proceeded to have us bus the table for her which was appalling but also a little funny. She was even a little rude to the teens at the end of the table when she took their plates. We couldn't believe what was happening. No offer to fix the situation, no question about the quality of the meal, nothing. I can imagine that since this is a family owned business, she took it personally that we didn't eat. However, she made no attempt at fixing the situation. We asked for the bill and she was gone for a while before she brought the bill to us. After we paid, we never saw her again. Not a departing "have a good evening", nothing, Just petty behavior. I feel sad that this is our experience as we were so excited to go there for my teen's birthday (when she brought dessert during our meal her happy birthday song was also petty as her attitude was so bad during lol!). We love supporting small businesses but not when our bill is $400, we didn't eat, gratuity is built in, and the service was not only subpar, but straight up rude. Walking to the restroom I peaked into the kitchen and that was a disgusting disaster too. How you gonna hit on my husband and offer him a free beer in front of all of us and then proceed to still charge us for that beer girl! She could've at least given us that LOL Anyway we know better now. Anyway, we had to go to McDonald's after and spend more money because the kids were starving. Unfortunate all around. Based off of the replies by the owner on some of these reviews, it is obvious that service is not a priority at this place. It is also obvious that no changes have been made over the years even with constructive reviews because the owner makes excuse after excuse for poor service and awful food. Let's start with positivity: The ambience was really cute! I love the glowing tables and the tree was really cool! When you first walk in it truly is a sight and well displayed as a forest and yea there was some cute spots throughout the restaurant to take a picture. The flower headdresses they provided were really neat and supper cool you get to take them home. The Cons of this place: My mother an I drove up from Bay for the day to see the hype of this establishment. Being that my mother loves fairy's I couldn't see why the drive even with gas prices being super high as they are wasn't doable. HOWEVER, we got there again the place was super cute, the menu was very limited and EXPENSIVE over priced in my opinion for what it was. I ordered the beer flight and my beer was served 15 min late and THEN served to me HOT OR WARM? My mother went 20 min at our table with out her water she'd ordered and that was just water!! And after two tables that came after us where served. I ordered a coke in its stead an sent the beer back an my soda was served flat.! Service was slow there was only one guy serving? And he stated that he was cooking also? Mom an I ordered the cheese fondue and it for $19.00 per person was not bad. Very tasty. But again our fondue was served to us late and again almost 30 min of waiting, and after now three tables that came after us got served the same thing first before us? I understand times are tough, but having to wait for staff to arrive to work to serve your customers is ridiculous, the server he even told Is an openly admitted he was the only one to open an had to call people who hadn't worked there in a year to come back an help him serve.?? this place should not have opened to its customers unstaffed. Water should not be served 20 min after guests are seated, beer should be chilled and food should be served as tables come In and are seated. Menu needs to have a little more to it an better pricing. I would like to start by saying that I was very excited to try this restaurant. We were unable to get a table last year during Thanksgiving weekend and made sure to reserve in advance this year. I was called the day before to confirm my reservation. I confirmed and asked if we were able to have the large booth due to the party size and my dad had just had back surgery ( which I placed in my requests when making the reservation) . She confirmed we did. The next evening we checked into our reservation 15 minutes early. The table was not ready yet. We check back in at 7pm. The table is still not ready. It's VERY cold outside. 7:15pm. Not ready. 7:30pm. Not ready. My dad is in a mobile scooter and it's freezing outside. There is no indoor areas to wait. Finally at 7:45pm the hostess states they have cleared another table ( not the one we reserved) and created space for us after speaking to the owner. How they would " take care of us" as I had just told her we were leaving and we're not in a position to wait any longer. We were seated at 8pm. 1 hour after our reservation. While standing in the freezing cold with my dad who was miserable along with the rest of us. Also to note, there was no one else waiting in that entire hour. Just us. Ambiance was cute. It's loud and busy but I can see that people would like the aesthetics of the interior. However our table was crammed. A little extension was placed at the end. There was an outlet at the very end of the table where the fondue heating plates plugged in. Which meant everyone sharing or ordering fondue had to pass down the forks for the person seated there to dip each persons fondue and pass it down the line, which is ridiculous and messy. The salmon was good. I ordered my filet medium rare and it was RAW. It was accompanied by 3 tiny Brussels spouts and 2 tiny mini carrots with a small serving of VERY bland mashed potatoes. As a whole, all of the food lacked any real flavor or seasoning. The cheese fondue was okay, wouldn't recommend. The chocolate fondue was accompanied by the most strange array of dipping items. Minimal fruit with what appeared to be old broken up cookies and wafers. Also Little bite muffins from the grocery store. Some items we were all collectively unable to identify. Almost like they took leftovers of whatever they could find in the back and threw it in a pile on a dish. Again, wouldn't recommend. Within 20 minutes of eating, the music stopped. The lights came on. The tables are being cleaned. We have only been sitting for 20 minutes which changed the entire expected experience. Dinner is done. Time for the check. Hefty price tag! I can tell you this, we were NEVER " taken care of". Positive - you get cute light up flower headbands to take home. The staff is sweet. The place is clean. Negatives - no interior seating to wait for table. Small space. Food is bland and plating is terrible. Seating was cramped and fondue isn't able to even sit in the middle to be shared. Unlike prior Fondues they us broth rather than oil which adds another layer of flavor. Since we were celebrating, we decided to do the chocolate fondue for dessert. I had 5 people in my reservation and they made it 4. My mom was handicapped, and in a wheelchair. They wheee going to make us come back 2 hours later but thank goodness they were able to accommodate, but was told that we would have limited time in our seat. They did not tell us to leave so that was good but the food did not match the atmosphere. Very sad because this place could have done better I do not recommend either of the pot pies. We where not able to finish it because it was not good. . We drove from auburn and Were there to celebrate my mom's and my brother's birthday. 3rd Saturday Art Walk brought us to downtown Placerville. After shopping around, we worked up an appetite and popped into the delightful ambiance of the Enchanted Forrest Restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine, and each received a fairy-light garland to wear. I ordered a crepe with butternut squash, and my friend ordered a stuffed portabella. I booked this place to celebrate Christmas and to see live Irish music. So let's start there. The 5pm start time came and went and at 5:30 I asked when the music would start and was informed that there would not be any. We drove up from the Bay Area and I know they only like us for the money we leave behind but that was disappointing to say the least. So now onto our food, the $500 bill and the violent food poisoning I'm still recovering from. I decided to order the miners pie. I took a bite and noticed an odd taste but trying to remain positive decided to add some of the sauce they included with the meal. I mange to get half of it down when I start to feel weird. Thinking I was just being sensitive I decided to take the rest home to go. Paid the insane $500 bill for disgusting food and left. Fast forward 2.5 hours driving back to the Bay and I look at my husband and yell pull over now.... I ended up getting violently ill on the side of the road. I manage to get myself back in the car finish the 45 min drive to home and upon getting there peel myself off the back seat and get myself into the bathroom. It's been over 24 hours now and I'm still getting sick. So would I recommend this place?! Not a chance in hell! They got their $500 Bay Area bucks, provided ZERO service, and left me the sickest I have ever been in my life. If I ended up having to go to the ER room I will be reaching out to the BBB to file a complaint. Absolutely the worst dinning experience of my life! And I'm a full blown push over!!! For this place being in Placerville, it's nice. We drove from Sac because it looked so cute and we needed a break from our usual date-night reservations at The Melting Pot. Made reservations, got seated right next to the bathroom. Our server took forever to come over to us and greet us. We ordered the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue (they don't have vegetarian options for the main course). Cheese fondue was tasty but it took forever to melt. The chocolate fondue came with GREAT pairings (cookies, dried fruit, marshmallows, and more) but the damn chocolate wouldn't stop bubbling even after we took it off the fondue plate. My Diet Pepsi didn't get refilled even once and sat empty on the table almost the whole time (I downed it after the salty cheese). It's also worth it to note that there aren't fondue options, you get one option for the cheese fondue and one option for the chocolate. People are nice. The decor is pretty cute. They give you a little light up headband. My husband liked his cider. Overall I was disappointed in the experience. I don't think they should be doing fondue, but their menu is pretty limited altogether and painfully overpriced for the quality & experience. Celebrated a birthday here tonight. Cute place with lively entertainment and friendly staff. 1 filet mignon, 1 salmon and 1 kids meal. We split the bill and my share was $76 including tip. All I ate was 2 asparagus spears and 2 carrots. I ordered my filet medium and got very well done. I hate sending food back but this place got good reviews so maybe it was a fluke. Nope. The 2nd filet arrived after everyone had long finished their meal. Med-well the 2nd time. It came home in a box and I ate my own food once I got home. I do recommend this place if you like Irish food and want to experience different ambience or like your steaks well done. If you like it medium, you should order it rare. The ambiance is what makes this place, but the food was mediocre at best. I don't think I'd return because I wasn't all that thrilled with the dishes we had (there are so many great restaurants in the Sac area), but it's fun to give it a try for the ambiance and cocktails. Just don't expect to be blown away by the food :) read more

Update. This is 100% a real review. The meatballs AND the chicken were already fully cooked. That was a horrible response to an unsatisfied customer. I will make sure to cross post my review on open table as well. It's funny because that is the place I made my reservation that got pushed to a poorly lit booth. The only one lying is yourself. Have you ever been to the melting pot? ALLL of their meat is raw, not just the beef. Thank you. This is accurate. I didn't specify the meats - the beef is served raw. However the treatment and lack of accountability is atrocious. We were very clear and we got pushed to the side. Treat people better and you would get a rave review - treat people poorly and you risk the chance of them letting people know exactly what happened. We have literally only received an apology for the closed crystal shop. The only think this owner has done is get up in arms about honest reviews. I'll just let that speak for itself. The unpleased guests in my party aren't supposed to be upset? That is literally the chance you take when you give poor service to patrons. read more

It was so beautiful! Fully themed like I was in a mystical forest! The seats had arches of greenery, the lights flickered like candle light and the tables glowed in blue and green. We got floral crowns that's lit up to make everyone feel special! The servers were kind and were really interactive with the guest. And the food was so good! I got the short rib me it just fell apart smoothly! The mash under it also had a layer of crisp cheese. read more

Hello! Come here !!! It was incredible and we loved it. Julianna was a perfect waitress and we loved her attire. Her spirit and smile were lovely in such dim times. The theme of the restaurant was incredible and we will absolutely come back. We will absolutely recommend to anyone who has a passion or interest in DND, fantasy or can appreciate a themed dining experience. The Shepard's pie and filet mignon were superb. Food was quite yummy, though a bit on the pricey side. Everyone gets a free flower crowd. Our waitress was wonderful, and was okay with giving me and my 3 friends separate checks. Fun environment! I like how the music wasn't too loud this time too. read more

Where should I start? This restaurant is an amazing and magical experience from the minute you walk in the door. It really feels like an enchanted forest with twinkling lights and beautiful tables with a river of bright colored lights running through them. Then there is the friendly, funny and extremely professional staff to serve you quickly and attend to your needs. Now the food..best fondue I have ever eaten and we make it at home so I can definitely recommend the cheese and chocolate fondue. Bottom line...we went there for my birthday and it was an experience I will not forget as I hit a milestone this year. Thank you for making our experience exceptional. read more
