I ended up crying for 2 hours after leaving the salon... My nail is still recovering from Dawn not filing them correctly. She essentially filed my natural nail in the weirdest shape... which led to Mike giving me the worst dip I've ever had... Right before my graduation photos . I do want to say everyone is friendly and nice but they don't provide good services. I go into the salon to get a $35 gel manicure on my natural nail and left with dip with tips at $40, I DID NOT WANT a dip set but had to get it because Dawn ruined my shape. After trying to get me to buy the Mani / Pedi combo for $90 for a while, I declined as I just wanted a simple gel mani, they sat me down to the worst nails I've ever gotten. It started by me asking if Dawn could smooth my nail and make them even, as in they were jagged... Photos are included. After she filed my index finger to the point that it looked so bad that my girls' group chat told me I should leave immediately and the salon had to get "their best nail tech" Mike involved. She also cut my long nails down much further than I asked. They said Dawn didn't understand English and that is why she filed them to look like that... No one asks for the way she filed them, so I think it was carelessness. After they realize how unhappy I was, they brought the manager over and had Mike tell me I now need to get the dip to fix the ruined nails... The dip was so bad, there were literally holes in the dip polish, they were uneven and sharp. I had to file them and fix them when I got home!!! I ended up spending 3 hours and 30 minutes in the salon (should have been an hour) and was so exhausted by the experience that I just left after I saw how terrible my nails looked! I soaked them off at home the NEXT DAY because they were embarrassing. I paid $40 + $8 tip for one of the worst nails I've ever gotten. The fact that the nail techs can't even smooth out nails (who wants sharp, uneven nails) is telling of the experience to expect at Empress. I hate leaving negative reviews but I will be honest, this is my experience and any business that provides me with such a bad service that I end up CRYING because of it.. makes me think people should be aware. read more

She will check on you to ensure you are happy with your service, as of yet no complaints. Until I find a shop closer to home, my routine will stay the same. Long waited review.... after coming to this salon for almost a year since I moved here, today will be my last visit. Let me start by saying Tao was my favorite for nails and Phil was the best at pedicures. However, previous management treated Tao not so great which made it very uncomfortable environment. They recently are under new ownership and I did not know that until I walked in for a pedicure appointment a few months ago. Upon arriving, you're pressured to add a manicure or full set with your pedicure. Multiple times and multiple trips I have said "a pedicure is just what I am getting" and still being haggled if I am going to get manicure for 50% off multiple times. I get more sales = more money but it's makes it so uncomfortable. Very cringe. (Let me start by saying, the 50% off second service is not really a good deal to begin with. Their prices are outrageously high.) With all new nail technicians, I was very nervous. First time getting a pedicure with new ownership (my usual Volcano pedicure $65 plus $15 gel) and it was very sloppy. The gel "shrank" and you could see the brush strokes. Cuticles covered in nail polish. Only after I asked 4 times was it fix but by then, my cuticles were raw. Second time coming in since new ownership and got a $70 ($55 + $15) pedicure. Again, very sloppy. I could not enjoy my pedicure at all because I had to tell the nail tech to fix the polish. She kept saying "good?" and it was not. The massage was very rushed and I felt uncomfortable the whole time. The lady next to me was getting gel off her toes and the male tech seemed to not know what he is doing. It's sad that a simple removal of polish is being done sloppy. When going to pay just now, she said my total was $75... the pedicure I got was $55 plus $15 for gel and they have 20% off your first service.... She said "no gel only $15 for $65 and $75 pedicures. It legit said "gel on pedi or manicures $15 additional"... no where did it say anything about only on those pedicures. She also stated they stopped doing 20% off. She took $5 off because I told her that was bull crap and should state that. Why would someone pay $20-$25 more for gel on a already almost $60 pedicure? They change their prices + policies 24/7. All they care about is money. For someone paying close to $100 for a pedicure, I would expect it to be "wow" but it is not. Previous ownership was not any better but at least the nail techs were very thorough. I truly do not feel like all these nail techs in here are licensed due to unprofessionalism. It sucks because I have been coming here for a year and I really wanted my review to be a positive one but it is not. I randomly decided that I needed to treat my daughter to a mani/pedi. During the times of covid, I was very particular about where I was going to choose. Next to my work, I saw that there was a new "Empress Beauty Bar" . I called on my way to get her and asked them about their safety protocols. I was convinced enough to go ahead and make an appointment for just her. When greeted, they addressed her first (which I really liked) with a smile and a compliment. She immediately started sucking it up which eased her into letting them touch on her little toes :) Everyone was spaced apart accordingly and I noticed that workers were not just wearing gloves, but getting rid of them when touching various surfaces to prevent cross contamination. The owner came out and started talking to the patrons at a reasonable distance. I did not intend on him to address her, but he spent most the time with her. I'm pretty sure she liked them more than me at that point. lol. He put a capri sun and a candy bowl behind his back and winked at me (not creepy) and said, "guess which little princess gets a surprise?!" However, they seemed to be more concerned with how much money I was willing to spend. When it finally hit them that I wanted one thing only no additives or extra anything the service sucked. I took my friend here for manicure + Gel. We both were unsatisfied with the service and the result we got. First, the tech pushed on my cuticles so hard and that hurt me alot. Then she found out one of my nails got messed up, she filed on the top of my nail and scratch the skin to bleed (see the picture). Tiffany was my tech and she would accept to do every requests but then she couldn't do any of it. She looked around to look for help. Judy/Julie was the worst tech. She painted my friend's nails very messy, lopsided, and some of them peeled off next day. Second, they charge me $20 extra for different color on just two fingers. So be aware if you're planning to have more than 1 color on your nails. I think this place try to rip off on their customers. My husband scheduled a day for my sister and I to get our nails done. My sister made an appointment for 1 o'clock we get there 20 mins early. I needed my lashes filled so I came here and I wish I wouldn't have, not only did Tiffany glue a lash on my eyelid which later resulted in me having to pull it and it pulled off a layer of the skin on my eyelid as well as took out 8 of my own lashes. She was plucking the older lashes out which hurt like hell, all of the false lashes she applied are hard and stuck together and hurt when I close my eyes. I recently found this nail salon due to a recommendation from a friend. We are both equally picky about how our nails look ! She recommended Tao and I'm not gonna lie he is AWESOME! He's as picky as I am, he helps me choose nail colors (he's unusually knowledgeable on nail colors TBH), I tell him what I like and he does his thing! Works out great! But today was evidently his last day as the nail salon is transitioning ownership. I made my appointment as I usually do, I get there and am approached while watching my hands by the new owner asking if I want anybody specifically to which I respond uh yeah I have my appointment with Tao, she proceeds with you sure? Yes that's who I want to do my nails. I get my nails done as usual. Only to find out that I was his last customer . The new owner literally let him go while customers where still there and it was so inappropriate. I was talking with him for a bit when the new owner then approaches me yet again asking are you ready to check out, no I already paid. Then proceeds with do you like your nails? Uh yes lady I do that's the only reason I come here. Needless to say it will be my last visit. So if Tao does your nails he's not there anymore. If I could rate this zero stars I would. I used to come to this location many times for the past two years. They are now under NEW MANAGEMENT! They have a sign for 50% off second service. I called and set up an appointment at three and asked about the discount which she said yes they are doing it. When I went to pay she said they only do it during a certain time. Which isn't on the sign nor what she told me! The services : I get dip On my nails and gel on my toes. One of the ladies told me that a certain brand they carry has the same color and dip and in gel. I received a dark green color on my nails and a neon green on my toes. Not that big of a deal she fixed it. The lady that did my dip on my nails when she was doing the clearcoat, she kept touching my nails to see if they were dry. She messed them up four times before she realized she needs to stop touching it for it to dry. Then she proceeds to tell me my cuticles are bad and it will be five dollars extra to get them cut. I say no problem that's fine go ahead and cut my cuticles. She cut them DRY AND WITH NO OIL!!! She cut me three times!!! One nail ended up breaking the SAME DAY. My pedicure lady barely massage me and was honestly the worst massage ever. Especially for a $45 pedicure. I was so upset about that experience and all that I just wanted to get out of there. When I got into my car I looked at my pedicure and realized one is mad and one is gloss because she forgot to put the clearcoat on 1 foot. I called immediately and asked to speak to the manager and I wanted a refund. She said she was unable to do that and that the owner was going to be in tomorrow. We had the same conversation for four days. They kept telling me the owners going to be in here tomorrow and when I would call that next day he wasn't there and they told me the same thing. A manager named Tiffany called me stating that they were unable to do a refund because they were going to get in trouble. The most ridiculous experience I have ever had getting my nails done or customer service. This place is not worth it!!!! read more

I actually didn't realize he was let go by new management when I booked my last appointment (literally last appointment since I'm never coming here again). Whoever the woman was that did my nails fudged them up BAAAAD. No nail was the same shape. Didn't even do the shape I requested. Then, she kept bragging about how good she was and what nail shops she came from. -_- EDIT: She also talked about how COVID was a marketing scheme -_- It was terrible. I miss Tao :( He was AMAZING.
