Shattered my case my sunglasses were in, bent the frame, forced out the lenses, and they were able to fix them in time before my trip! This place TOTALLY SUCKS!! THIS IS TOTAL BS!! The staff are RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. I had to wait 20 minutes before someone even came out to help me, & only AFTER Nicki went to get someone. Then to tell me after i am seated in the chair, that the exam is done with a virtual doctor & NOT a real doctor!! also, that the exam will have alot of bright lights!! I got up & walked out! Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Couple years ago it was the same thing. Unfortunately our eye doctor does not offer glasses. I was sucked in again....i called due to a broken pair of glasses. They refused to help me on the phone saying I have to come in. For what?? I finally made it there on a Saturday afternoon . A lady asked me what I was here for and said "ok". She then for 10 full minutes proceeded to tighten a screw on a pair of glasses! Stock glasses for the wall! She was helping no one! As soon as another girl came from the back she was magically done screwing and walked away to do nothing. Girl number two said "yes, we have the frame replacement but only have one left. Where are the broken glasses/lenses?I explained my son is wearing them. I got out of work early and was able to make it here before you closed. She couldn't have told me this on the phone?? What? Why? She could have but wouldn't. She then proceeded to tell me I have to come in by Saturday or she's putting them back on the rack for retail sale. Again, what?? They r under warranty and I am owed these frames. You're threatening that if I don't do it your way then I'm out of luck. Nice! So we show up on Saturday as I said I would at 3pm. Here were are at 4:15....still waiting. Several people have been called before us. I was told you can only make an appointment for the doctor. Thank goodness we don't have to go through that. So we were called to sit at a table . Waited ten minutes then were called to another table. Ok. She fitted the frames to my sons face by him putting them on . NO adjustments, nothing! And said "ok, you guys are all set" What the heck? You didn't swap the lenses? She then said "oh, but they aren't the same frame" UNBELIEVABLE. Another time The screw fell out of my previous glasses and all I wanted was a screw to fix it myself but they wanted me to wait. There must have been twenty hopeless looking people ahead of me. Some of the employees seem very unfriendly as soon as you walk in to the door. Calling them to the phone number they provide is pretty much USELESS. I was on the phone for HOURS trying to contact them to reschedule my appointment and no one even answers. My mom and I went to empire, we need to make an appointment. We talked to the girl, made an appointment for Wednesday at 10, got confirmation via text, says 1/6/21 at 10. We had to go back there because the phones don'twork! I was already home!I go back there and another person tells me there's no openings for Wednesday. The next appointment they have is 12/10 at 10. I walked out very angry. They have horrible customer service especially when everything on the website says walk ins welcome. We left there, went to Walmart Vision, spoke to a very nice gentleman and I have an appointment for tomorrow(12/1) at noon. I will never go to the Empire Visionworks in Amsterdam, NY and I will never recommend them to anyone!! The phones need to get fixed too. read more

I have ordered 3 pair of new progressive glasses plus had lenses put in another pair. I was told I had a stigma. (I had never been told that before) The prescription was wrong. I could not see road signs until I was right up on them. I asked that they give me my normal prescription from 2 years ago and they will. However. You are given an appt. and even so your wait time is so long. Hard to do if you work. The last time I was there I waited over an hour and fifteen minutes. More than a Doctor's office. Also, NO ONE ANSWERS YOUR PHONE. Today alone, I have made an entire meal, sat down and ate with the family, watched the news, and I am still on hold. This is not the first time. read more

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. First try my glasses were not right. They never called to say the fixed glasses were in. You cannot get through to a real person on the phone, even doing an online chat with the promise of someone checking to see if my glasses were in , never happened - Twice! I drove the 40 mile round trip just hoping that after three weeks my glasses were in. Clerk could not tell me why I wasn't notified. One out of the three staff I dealt was was actually pleasant, not helpful but pleasant. Do I love my corrected glasses. Not really but they are better than the first attempt. Arrived for my yearly appointment to find out that the doctor was not there and the appointment was cancelled without them contacting me first. I still needed my glasses adjusted. I drove there with them on and wore them for the past few days and When Deb adjusted them they were messed up and had cracks in it. She told me it was my fault and that she didn't cause it. However, they were not like that before. She was very rude and was giving me and my mother attitude and raised her voice. When she left for her lunch break I went back inside because I couldn't drive home, the other staff was super friendly and fixed my glasses. I'm very thankful for the other staff that helped me fix the problem and they apologized and were very nice and sincere. Now without my glasses while they fix my lenses, wearing old pair. Was in there for over 2 hours. Very unfortunate experience I had with deb. Again, but thank you to the other staff members for making up for debs unprofessionalism. read more

Vision Works in Amsterdam was fantastic; Lisa initially helped me with measurements for my new frame; very professional and knowledgeable. Best part was the speed of which I got me glasses. It took all of 5 days, which included the weekend. The glasses were fitted by Terry (Theresa), in record time. The fit perfect, glasses were quality frames, RX was spot on.
