I recently had to stop into Agape Eye Care in Malta after my kiddo snapped the arm clean off their…read moreglasses. We do have a spare pair, but the prescription is older and not ideal, so I called Agape on Monday to see what could be done. I spoke with the optician, Gary, explained the situation, and asked if I could order a replacement arm. He let me know the glasses were still under warranty and said, "I'll just order a new frame." Sure enough, he called Wednesday to say it was in. I stopped by after work today and the place was busy. I told the receptionist why I was there and she immediately recognized me from previous visits. Gary was helping another customer, but he saw me, acknowledged me right away, and as soon as he finished up, he quickly swapped the lenses into the new frame and adjusted them so they fit perfectly. And this is not an anomaly. It's consistent with how they operate. I can think of at least two other times off the top of my head when they've stepped in and taken care of an issue without any drama. They just fix the problem. Agape isn't the closest eye care provider to me, but it is the best, and that's why I go there. I trust the advice and expertise I receive. In the past, at another practice, I bought expensive designer frames where you're paying mostly for the name. Some were good, some were not. I recall that on my first visit there ever, when I asked Gary what he recommended, he took the time to ask several thoughtful questions and suggested a brand I had never heard of before, Ovvo Optics. He was actually wearing a pair himself. They're incredibly lightweight yet strong. I've since purchased several pairs and honestly doubt I'll switch brands anytime soon. Interestingly, I later came across an article in a magazine, I believe it was Men's Health or Men's Journal, praising Ovvo frames and recommending them highly. Most of what I read, I had already learned from Gary or experienced firsthand, but it was reassuring to see that outside validation. Agape also carries a great selection of Oakley sunglasses. I've purchased a few prescription pairs there as well. Gary sat down with me and thoroughly explained the different lens options, what each was best suited for, and the pros and cons of each. I initially switched to Agape after my former eye care office was bought out and just wasn't the same afterward. The difference here is noticeable. The staff is friendly, professional, and you're treated well. It's not a large chain, it's a locally owned business, and that matters to me. I appreciate that they stand behind the brands they carry and truly know their products. You can see I've reviewed this place twice before. I usually don't write multiple reviews for the same business unless I've experienced a problem and am giving it another chance to see if things improve. That's not what's happening here. I'm not writing because I had an issue. I didn't. I'm writing because they consistently do such a good job that it's worth mentioning again. When a local business repeatedly earns your trust, people should know. For me, it's an easy choice. I'll continue going out of my way to support Agape Eye Care.

They got me in really quick, and I was surprised to see they had later evening appointments and Saturday appointments-perfect for those of us who work full time for the insurance we rarely get to use because most doctors don't like working Fridays or weekends either. I got in and out very quickly, my appointment took very little time surprisingly, the office was clean and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Dr. Vaughan was honest, frank, and answered my questions addressing concerns thoroughly and efficiently without making me feel like I was keeping him or boring him (that sounds odd but I've had a few eye docs and even worked for one for a while so it's something I've experienced more than once). After my appointment I was taken to the optician, Nikki (who of course was cool as sh*% because we had the same name), and she thoroughly explained my insurance, and helped me find a pair of glasses that not only looked good on my stupid-shaped face, but had beneficial attributes for me -like being lightweight and not giving me a headache because of where they sit on my ears. I also want to say that their selection of glasses was much better than other places I've been to in the area. They didn't all look exactly alike and their was a variety of brands and styles, and they didn't look like my mother or grandmothers glasses from 1980. I even found sunglasses I liked-which was important to me because I wear them for driving and get migraines. My glasses were ordered and I was out in like an hour from beginning to end. My glasses came in about a week as expected, and they gave me a few extra cleaning cloths and solution that they would refill for free anytime-unheard of in my experience and really awesome for those of us who clean their glasses frequently. This is also where the unique hours really helped me out because I didn't have to take off work to go pick them up! And I know if I ever need them adjusted I won't have to take off for that either. I can highly recommend Vaughan Vision for fast, friendly, and especially convenient service.

I like how they are honest when picking out the perfect frame for your face and the old fashion pleasant atmosphere. Yes you could probably go to Walmart and get a cheap pair of glasses, but that's what you will get cheap and big box service. I like how the have a year warranty on the lenses you buy of course depending if you get scratch resistance. You can walk in anytime and they will re align you frames when ever they get loose. And they do the work there they don't send your frames out to be done. I also like how they are willing to work with you. With no spare glasses in tow and not enough time to get a new pair shipped in, I would have to walk around with ridiculously lopsided frames. Robert examined my glasses and miraculously found an old pair of the same frame (this is a somewhat rare, German frame) in the back of the shop and took that temple and attached it to my glasses. He saved my sight and my trip. His quick thinking, resourcefulness, and customer service were just remarkable. This shop has "big city" style in terms of its frame selection but small town kindness and care. It is truly one of a kind. I can't wait to return to shop for new frames, and I hope Robert will be available to guide me through the excellent and wide selection of styles.

There is a 1 yr. warranty but you have to pay $40 to use the warranty, I've never heard of such a thing. I need to find someplace else to get my glasses.
