His demeanor is calm, caring and understanding, all qualities that are often rare to find in doctors. He is accepting of his patients and took as much time as I needed to review my condition and need for surgery. He was reassuring to me when I expressed anxiety about surgery and explained in depth how it would go that day. Well, two years later, I still have the same problem, so I decided to go to a REAL eye doctor (an ophthalmologist), not an optometrist or a general practitioner, leading me to Dr. Tanenbaum. Dr. Tanenbaum is wonderful. Rarely do you get a doctor that will take the time to talk to you and really try to understand what is causing your problems. Most just want to prescribe you something and send you on your way, at least in my experience. Dr. Tanenbaum actually cares and wants to make sure you get better, scheduling follow-ups as needed until your problem is resolved. He also took the time to make sure all my questions were answered. I'm so grateful to have found him - more doctors should be as thorough as Dr. Tanenbaum!
