Terrifying experience. I'm having night vision issues 8 months after LASIK. I called to get an exam. It's clear this is a scam and they're giving me a run around. They lied and said all adjustments are free, but it's actually $99 and you need to wait 8-12 weeks. They said I need to go to my own eye doctor, get an exam, have them fill out a form, and then LASIK Plus's corporate doctors will take 8-12 weeks to approve a reevaluation if they see fit. We all know how corporate doctors work: deny, defer, distract. I mean, they are financially incentivized to leave me blind and/or suffering. Do not go to this place. Had lasik completed last year in April and am having problems. Called and wanted to have it tweeted so they told me I have to go see my eye doctor for an exam. Went for the exam and now they are telling me it could take 6-8 weeks before they can "evaluate" my vision. I haven't even finished paying for this and when I had it done, they said that if I needed to come back, it is covered. Now, I find out that the lasik exam/evaluation is going to cost $99. I'm not feeling very confident in this place now. read more

I decided I wanted 20/20 vision for 2020. Ended up withh 20/15. The whole thing starts with an assessment to make sure you are a viable candidate. That you have thick enough epithelial layers over your eyes, and other factors that make you a low risk. Which is reassuring. After that comes a quote. Unless you have a really minor condition, expect to pay around 5k. If you go during the new year, when I did, there is a 1k off promotion and if you know of a friend who had it ask for another $100 off certificate of referral from them. After that, and a few eye exams to get a baseline (I recommend bringing your most recent prescription from your eye Dr. for reference) they either do it the same day or schedule an appointment. When you return, bring a friend to drive you home after. You cannot drive after the procedure. The actual procedure is only about 12-15 minutes. The wait can vary. I had to wait several hours, was given a second eye exam with dilation, then sent home and came back to wait a few more hours. Which, hey measure twice cut once I am not complaining. And the results were five star! It was just a bit inconvenient for my ride who thought this wouldn't take their whole day. Only reason I bumped a stars overall to a four was it would have been easier to know ahead of time how long this would actually take as it was awkward asking my ride to sacrifice more time than was expected. Anyway, then they take you to a room with two machines. There is a viewing room if your ride is curious to watch. They put numbing drops in your eyes, do another brief exam, then you spend a few minutes under each machine. The first involves having transparent discs pressed onto your eyes which feels... weird. Then a laser cuts a flap in the epithelial layer of your eyeballs. Then they walk you across to the other machine because you cannot see to much. That machine involves you havIng the flap pushed aside on each eye and a controlled laser burn while you stare into a light for a few seconds on each eye. Smells a little like burning hair. Then they slide the flaps back over your eyes, and seal them with more lasers. Keeping your eyes focused on a fixed point during this helps a lot so be prepared to stare into lights while people touch your eyeballs. You get to hold a couple of stress balls to squeeze during what amounts to a long 12-15 minutes. Then you are sent home with some medicated eye drops and told to try and sleep for four to five hours. Now, here's the thing. They show you a video of how you are supposed to nap for 4-5 hours after. That period of time you are healing and your eyes need to be closed. I could not sleep. I wish I'd taken a sedative. That was the worst part. Lots of discomfort. But it did pass and later that evening I was fine. After a few days I went back for a post exam and learned I now had 20/15 vision. I also got a free shirt. Dr. Gabriel did a great job! He also called me and answered all my questions prior which put my mind at ease (chance of permanent nerve pain 1 in 10,000 and he's done thousands of surgeries) and he called me again after to see how I was doing. Great customer service! I recommend lasIk. After a few weeks of eye drops and care, I no longer need glasses and my vision is the best it's ever been. Worth every cent! read more

This place is amazing! Everyone in the office is so kind. The Dr was so comforting during the procedure, he was empathetic and kind. I love the way he counted down during the process it helped me stay calm. I went at 3:15pm and was on the table by 4:30/4:45 I think I was in the room itself for 15 minutes. I had 20/400 and just tested again for 20/15 three days after the surgery! Which is wild. Few tips day of i wish I did: I would bring a blanket in the car, sit in the back seat and put the blanket over the head rest in front and behind you as well as wearing a hat with the glasses they give you. I think this will help keep as much light out as possible bc the light is brutal afterward. I kept reading how painful it is the first 4-6 hours and told myself I would just thug it out but couldn't haha. I did take some Tylenol PM which knocked me out and was a blessing. I also reached out to my Primary and got two Xanax I took one after I signed the paper and one after which really kept me calm I would go into the waiting room and count how many people are in front of you it'll take each of them about 15 min before you and take the first Xanax when you have 15-30 minutes only because I had to wait about 45 minutes after signing my papers before going into the room and it almost knocked me out haha. I had never taken it before but it really helped. Also bring lots of tissues idk if this happens to everyone but my nose was so stuffy and running like crazy. Keeping the eye drops in the fridge really helps it from burning I had an eye infection months before and had similar drops and this really helped. This was a great experience well worth the money especially if you do the care credit 12 months interest free. Thanks again to everyone there I'm so happy! read more

I had the LASIK over 2 years ago. I went to the appointment the first time and they had me a video I went and spoke to somebody I'm getting eye exam and I think measured my eyes for the Lasik to be done and when I left they gave me a sheet to fill out. You're supposed to check all the things they went over with you, butI was sick and I was depressed and I was in a hurry so I checked everything off without really reading it - my fault there but also their fault because they were supposed to go over with me. So then I went and had the procedure. My right eye done first. No one really talks about the procedure itself but you go onto a table and they have the machine to cut the flap and I think later they move you to another table to do the laser. I was okay at first but then if you came scary end creepy because when they lift the flap up everything goes blurry and I tried not to freak but I did. She finished the rieye and started on the left hi. She was having difficulty because she said I was nervous and I had to stop moving and I told her I was trying to. She said it may not be me but it was subconsciously my flight or fight response kicking in. She said she'd have to put her fingers on my eyeball to hold my I still and do the procedure and I said fine. We finished up even though they give me a valium prior to the procedure I wish they had given me more than one or give me another one as I left.. On the way home my eyes were tearing, my nose was running, and I did not feel so hot. I just felt kind of shaky. My roommate called me a baby and said he didn't have these problems when he had his procedure done. But he did take care of me so we'll forgive him for that. I went home and I took one of my Klonopin in a Benadryl and I think he may have given me something to drink and eat and I passed out. I woke up the next morning feeling better. I could see in three days and I was very happy that's all went well. I went to my following visit within the next couple days. Within 3 months I went to another visit and then you have the final visit somewhere between 9 and 12 months later. I was having pain in my right eye. I told them I was having pain it felt like a glass Shard on that final visit. And they kept assuring me I had dry eyes. I kept telling them I didn't have dry eyes because both of my eyes did not hurt it was just my right eye and it felt like a glass shard in the upper right side of my eyeball area where the white is. What pisses me off is when I got my medical report they never made any comment about my complaints of pain. What makes me even angrier is when I found my childhood eye doctor and went to him because I was still having pain 2 years later he determine an epithelial undergrowth which means my cornea didn't heal flat together. And it's not something that can be fixed. if they try to fix it could make my vision worse and cause more damage to my eye. So all we can do is keep track of it by having him document the size and shape of it every yearly visit. If it doesn't crease or move towards my pupil I'll go blind. I don't know if Lasik offices saw the epithelial undergrowth or not because they didn't even document my complained of pain. They didn't even document that they said I had dry eyes. They left the report blank. For that alone I'm giving them one star. And I filed an FDA adverse Complaint Form so the FDA does know. And I'm copying pasting as Yelp review so if it disappears I can replace it again. Prior to everything I know now I would have given them a better review. I thought the doctor doctors were nice, everything went okay, the office was clean, they seem to give a shit, and when I left and after the three days were up I could see I didn't need contacts and I didn't need glasses and I didn't have ghosting or glaring or halos. But I didn't realize that they cut the cornea and they cut the nerves and I didn't think I'm a chronic pain patient what will happen if I cut my nerves because I didn't know they were cutting my nerves I didn't understand. And so I have pain in my eyes. I feel like I can feel a cut parallel to my lower eyelid and then there's pain radiating upward little lines of pain. So I could not recommend this procedure to anybody. I could not recommend any kind of Lasik procedure even if they say it's improved to anybody get contacts or get ortho-k lenses or stay with your eyeglasses, but do not get your eyes cut into. Lasik damage is your eye and it's not fixable. And most people end up needing eyeglasses anyways. Most Lasik doctors wear eyeglasses how can you trust somebody to do a procedure on you when they're not getting a procedure done. And I'll always excuse that with LOL you know when you get older you're going to have to wear eyeglasses to see up close not good enough. read more

Considering the volume of patients they take (which is only a good thing!) they do not treat you like just a number. They really give you careful personal attention and find out everything there is to know about your eyes pertaining to the lasik/prk process. Every person, from the desk to the surgery room is extremely caring, patient, helpful, and kind. Especially Doctor Fleishman - she carefully examined the reports of my eyes taken by the other docs/techs, and did some more of her own. She explained everything, including an issue where my eye muscles compensated a lot, so there was a bit of a dissonance between my prescription, what I actually needed, and what they should apply during the surgery. I said one of the main reasons I'm here is that I was looking to up my prescription anyway because I felt my eyes needing more help - and they listened! They changed how much they were going to do based on my input. (Obviously still within reason, they know what they're doing.) I just thought it pretty amazing and impressive how much they listen, and care, and are not just getting you through the process. I wouldn't be able to write this right now without my glasses if it weren't for them, so I don't know how anyone could possibly give less than 5 stars. This is my third time bringing a family member to the Coorporate Woods Lasik Plus for performing a corrective laser procedure. Each time has been an absolute pleasure. My wife and youngest daughter absolutely LOVE their new found freedom from their lifelong glasses and contacts rituals. It's warm, rainy, and muggy today. When we got out of the car, my eldest daughter's glasses fogged up and she commented how cool it will be to not have glasses to fog up any longer. I do wear progressive lenses. Maybe 1 percent of the population will be eligible for the $250/eye offer. They really need to stop advertising the low price. read more

I have avoided getting LASIK for years. I mean, these are my eyes. After years of considering it. I went for it. I REALLY REALLY wish I did NOT sign up with Christopher Gabriels. Staff there was great! But I did sit in the waiting room for approx 3hrs. It was ridiculous. Just when I thought that it couldn't get any worse. The procedure room was where the real nightmare began because of CG. It was the worst experience of my life! Just imagine being pinned down by your eye. Having your doctor complain that your moving (even though I could not feel my face) complaining that that's why he screwed up. Yelled at his assistant that made a suggestion. Then went in to cut that same eye but from the side this time. Much to my surprise I was feeling a burning sensation and pain that increased this time. He just commented with "Are you serious!? Well I can't stop now" and continued with the procedure. read more

I got my LASIK done here back in December of 2014 and could not be happier with the results. The doctor who did my evaluation was professional, friendly, and efficient. The front desk folks were very warm and did their best to make this a very helpful process. The procedure was VERY uncomfortable and I wish I got two of the anti-anxiety pills. I was freaking out. But it was over and then I could see! It didn't hurt during the operation but my eyes were pretty sore afterwards. The sleeping pills definitely helped. After I woke up from my 4 hour nap, there was no more pain at all. The redness took a month or two to wear off and I'm still kind of light-sensitive now. The halos went away after a few months, it was pretty gradual so I'm not sure how long it actually took. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I hate how outdated everything is. It's incredibly difficult to get a receipt emailed to me - I had to buy an app to turn my phone into a fax machine. Who faxes anymore? read more

They are more of a business then a doctors office. They just wanna push you out the door and get the next one in. Very high pressure situation. You can actually get the procedure done the day of the evaluation if you want. Their bedside manner is terrible and they don't tell the truth about recovery times. Honest Review! My first appointment was to see if I was qualified. The Dr.'s were amazing. Receptionist was so kind! I left very excited to have my surgery three days later! My appointment was at 10:45am. I arrived at 10:30am and went to a second waiting area where there were like 15 people. Most waiting for their procedures. I asked how long I'd be there to make arrangements for child care. They said 1.5 maybe 2 hrs. I sat and waited for my turn til 2pm. When I got in the OR the Dr and staff were very kind, reassuring , and supportive. The actual procedure was very uncomfortable. Not painful but uncomfortable. I was in the room for maybe 20 mins. On the way home (1hr) drive I felt like my eyeballs had 1000 scratches on them. The pain was AWFUL ! The sunglasses weren't enough so I wrapped a sweatshirt around my eyes and practiced deep breaths until we got home. When I got home I immediately went to bed With a heavy dose of NyQuil. I woke up 3hrs later with an acceptable amount of pain. I took Tylenol and my eye drops and went back to bed. Two hours later I was up again and able to see blurry. some more drops and shortly after that it was mostly clear and I painful. The next morning I woke up at 5am with my eyes feeling irritated but with good vision. I went to work and cut hair all day using my drops throughout the day. No pain. Day 3 my eyes just feel dry. I can see pretty perfectly and I was out mowing the lawn with cute sunglasses on. I'm so happy I did this and I would do it again! My follow up is tomorrow and I'm looking forward to looking seeing them again! read more

The initial consultation was easy and reassuring, on actual surgery day I was in the operating room for all of about 5 minutes. Just had my Lasik procedure performed at Lasik Plus on Jan 31st. Corporate Woods Boulevard in Albany NY. The Staff here are wonderful and make you feel so at ease. I have always been one to be squeamish with things around my eyes. So i he previously stopped at my Primary care Doctor for a small valium perscription to help take the edge off. I was greeted by the friendly staff whom i had seen a couple months prior when a family member had their lasik performed. They took the time to go over the post procedure information as to my drops how many etc. They insured that i had the correct perscriptions. I had previously talked to the doctor regarding having MonoLasik done. 1 eye for distance and leaving the other eye alone. I didn't want disturb my ability to read but wanted to correct the distance issue. The appointment was scheduled for a friday and it was somewhat busy when i arrived at 9 am. The procedure was quick and painless with just a little pressure felt. Doctor Gabriel numbed my eye so I wouldn't feel a thing and I was even given 2 stress balls to squeeze if i needed to. He took the time to tell me what was going to take place and what i would feel and experience. I am normally a bundle of nerves with anything new my eyes so for me i had an awesome day. I had already done my research on what to expect and had 1st hand information from a family member. Yes there is some burning itching scratching feelings for 4-6 hours after your procedure once the numbing drops wear off. Are the that horrible not really I did find it hard to nap but if you can nap for that time it will definitely be better once it is over. I was able to for once watch tv read the guide and the closed caption as well as use my ipad and chat with my sister. While i may not have 20/20 ( remember i did Mono Lasik I wasn't expecting perfect vision but wanted the best vision i could get with our having to rely on glasses for distance and driving. I had my Lasik procedure done at LasikPlus about a week ago. Overall, I have healed well and have good results (they say 20/20 but I'm not sure I fully believe that). However, my experience with the office was unpleasant enough for me to not recommend them to others. When I first came in for my consultation everything was good. I was treated well and my questions were answered without judgement. The doctor I saw (Arshad?) was a little standoffish but I didn't think much of it and I scheduled my procedure for about a month later at 9:45 on a Friday and follow up for 4pm the following Tuesday to accommodate my work schedule as a teacher. I would pay ~$3600 for correction of both eyes. When I arrived at 9:30am the day of the procedure I checked in with the front desk and the woman at the desk and she said "Okay, so your follow up is at 8am on Tuesday." I replied "No" and she cut me off and said "Yes, that's the only time we can do. Our doctor has a religious holiday and can only do morning appointments." Fine, I can respect that, but I made the appointment for 4pm specifically because I work (as a teacher) an hour away from the office and can not miss class days at the end of the year. I was also irritated that I had not been notified ahead of time and was told "we see a lot of people and can't notify everyone." After quite a bit of back and forth with the rude receptionist I was told that I could come in at 7am and would be seen right away so that I would only be a few minutes late for work. I was already there so I just agreed and was given a valium and told to wait in the super crowded back waiting room. I was also reminded multiple times to check in on Facebook during this time. I ended up waiting over 3 hours for my procedure, at which point the valium had completely worn off. The man ahead of me and his girlfriend were getting their procedures done back to back. After his procedure he came out to the waiting room and within 5 minutes it was clear that he was in a lot of pain. His eyes were watering like crazy and when he asked for a tissue the same receptionist we had earlier said she didn't want to give him one because he might touch his eyes. She eventually relented. He was quickly ushered out to the front waiting room until his girlfriend was done, at which point he and his girlfriend were sent out. It definitely made me uncomfortable but I went on with my procedure anyway. I experienced a lot of confusion during the procedure simply because the doctor and nurses were talking about their weekend plans instead of walking me through what was happening. At one point it became clear that the inside corner of one of my eyes was not numb and I could feel everything. I whined "ow!" and the doctor just said "it doesn't hurt" and kept going. Once I was done I was fashioned with some sunglasses and shuffled out the door to my husband. I was still a bundle of nerves but felt mostly okay until about 5 minutes later when I was already in the car. At that point I felt excruciating pain and was unable to open my eyes for the next 5 hours. The pain subsided within that time and was significantly better within 24 hours, but I still felt as though I had been lied to about how much pain I would be in. It is clear that they try to get you out of there quickly so that you are not in this pain in front of other patients. I went back for my 7am appointment on the following Tuesday and was the only person in the office. It became clear that the doctor had not arrived for the day yet, which was annoying because I desperately needed to get on the road for work. While I waited, I overheard the office staff talking about their social media "numbers" and which office would earn some sort of bonus for social media engagement. It annoyed me because, while I understand that this is a business that needs to draw in customers, it is also a medical facility. This is a serious medical procedure and not a jet ski that you are trying to convince someone to buy. My follow up went fine but I was reminded THREE times to write a review and post about my experience on social media. So, here is my review. LasikPlus restored my vision but they also slowly eroded my trust with their unprofessional staff and marketing tactics. I would definitely recommend checking out other offices before deciding to go through them. read more

After years of thinking about getting LASIK , I finally took that step to get a free consultation last month. Dr. Chung was very thorough with explaining to me what I needed. I did not feel rushed at all. The nurses there made me feel more comfortable. Finally I schedule to get it done on 10/18/12. When I arrived I was really nervous but the staff made it really comfortable for me especially Stephanie. She's great! Dr. Fleishman, she's very professional and is straight forward. she kind of loosen up a little after. Day of surgery, you'll be there for about an hour or so. You need someone to drop you off and pick you up after. At the beginning you'll go over with the staff what you need to use after the procedure. You'll then watch a video of what to expect. That's like 20mins. After that they bring you to the back waiting room until you're called in by Dr. Fleishman. It's pretty intimidating when you walk into the procedure room seeing the large machine and everything was basically white. It's very cold in there so I suggest to wear a light sweater. When they lay you down and prop your eyes open with that spacer, that was uncomfortable! During the LASIK on my left eye and PRK on my right. Both procedure was pretty uncomfortable. However in my opinion , the eye spacer thing was more unbearable then the LASIK procedure itself. After spacer is placed she'll drop a couple of numb drops into your eyes. Then she'll place you under one of the machine and tell you to stare at the red or green dot. I don't remember exactly what color. You'll than hear the machine zap and it's followed by the strong burn smell. And your vision will go black. The entire procedure was no longer than 15minutes (?) it was fairly quick! She she sits you up you'll see a little bit but it's blurry. They'll have you wear the dark glasses right away. Since I experience both LASIK and PRK. The procedure of the LASIK, which is when the laser around the pupil open the flap up and laser underneath and close the flap back up. PRK is when they just laser the entire layer off. & would place a contact In after for your heeling process. LASIK recovery was much faster!!!! After the procedure within 15 minutes my eyes were burning! Worst feeling ever. Tears were running down my face and I couldn't do anything about it. It was the worst car ride home because you can't see and your eyes is burning. That torture lasted for about 4-6hours! My eyes would tear all night. My eyes was so sensitive to lights, daylights whatever that was bright. As soon as a peek of light hits your eyes, even thru the dark glasses your tears will fall. I took pain meds and a sleep aide to sleep it off. I Recommend to sleep entire day! Have someone there to help you with anything you may need. I recommend wearing the dark shade. I kept reminding myself this will be worth it where I won't need glasses and contacts anymore. So the next morning: LASIK on my left felt so much better when I woke up the next day. And I can see!! Best feeling ever! PRK on my right was in process of healing still. it felt like wearing contacts with a eyelash or lint stuck in it. Irritating feel that you want to rub your eyes soooo bad. And it teared for like 3 days not like a waterfall like the first day though. I'm on my fourth day of recovery and my left LASIK is fine but still has red markings. My right PRK feels soooo much better, no more tears no more sensitivity to lights. I have an appt tomorrow to remove the contact lense they put in for safe faster healing. I can see clear without contacts and glasses! This was well worth it to me. I drove myself to this appt without glasses! Appt is about 15-20mins from wait to finish. read more

I couldn't be more happy with my choice! The staff here from day one and every visit since has even professional and friendly. The staff was knowledgeable and answered all questions. My consultantion was thurough and the doctor who did it was wonderful. On the day of my procedure I was a little nervous but as promised it was quick and mostly painless. The only complaint of the day was the one office staff (whom I only saw there that day) was very rude but the rest of the staff more than made up for it. Afterwards I went home and slept as best I could. Within 4 hours The pain was gone. I still slept most of the day to rest my eyes. I had to include my update as a separate post due to character length limits. 1 week - My one week followup was pretty standard. I arrived at the doctor's office and only waited about 5 minutes to be called in - which I loved. There's nothing I hate more than to sit in a waiting room for an hour after my scheduled appointment time. The doctor sat me down and asked me a bunch of questions including how I felt, was there pain, can I see, etc. etc. He was very friendly and made me feel pretty comfortable. I still had some aches and pains from the surgery, but nothing serious. My vision was great (20/20 combined), but my right eye had stronger halos and was a little blurrier than the left eye so it was annoying and did worry me a bit at first. The doctor assured me that it was pretty standard for that for the first 3-6 months. He then shined that bright light in my eye to look at my cornea and said that it was healing very nicely (no folds or wrinkles). The appointment lasted about 15 minutes including the wait. The best part about post-1-week-visit time was that I didn't have to sleep with those sunglasses anymore! Thank god, that was the worst part. I had trouble sleeping with them on my face, due to how tight they were. It was worth it, no doubt, but I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore. 1 month - At this point, my vision had stabilized a bit more and the halos and starbursts weren't nearly as bad as they were a month ago. They were still noticeable but much less so. I had some concerns at this point about my vision; my right eye was still a little blurrier than my left and was very noticeable. I gave the doctor a whole thesis about my past month's experience with my vision, and although he listened, I almost felt "dismissed" a bit when he kept giving me simple canned responses of the recovery process. I fully understand it takes 3-6 months to recover and the healing process that your eyes undergo, but I really did want a more thorough explanation of what was going on. I wanted to know why things were happening the way they were, not a summary of what usually happens after a surgery. Eventually I got him to give me a more thorough explanation (after I sneaked a peak at my file) and he told me the discrepancy I was experiencing was likely do to partially induced astigmatism of +0.5 in one eye and -0.5 in the other. One eye was very slightly near sighted and one slightly far sighted. He said that once I get used to it, I won't notice it anymore. I can agree with that, I imagine my concerns were mostly psychological from the fear of not having perfect vision and I began noticing the smallest differences. The doctor then bid me farewell and I scheduled another followup for a month later. I will update this after that followup. One more thing - fluorescent lighting and computer screens tend to give me the most issues with glaring and haziness. I imagine that's normal because those forms of light hit your eye at different wavelengths causing some blur during the healing process. It's still too soon to tell but I'm still optimistic. read more

I came in a bit skeptical because I had never had anyone in my family have lasik surgery before but once I got to sit down with one of the assistants I had all of my worries and questions answered I felt a lot better. It's been two days since I've had the surgery my vision is better than it's ever been I cannot possibly be more pleased with The outcome. Just had the mono vision procedure done Fri 1/3/17. Staff was/is incredibly helpful from reception to assistants and both doctors. If you have questions ask they give you very straightforward answers. I have been a chronic contact lenses abuser for over 30 years and felt it was time to see if I could improve my vision and cut out the need for reading glasses. Procedure was quick and only mildly uncomfortable but the results have been spot on with what I was told expect and just about immediate.
