O'Reilly Auto Parts

I usually go to an O'Reilly's when I need auto parts. The location on 3rd St was my go-to. They…read moreprovided good service and they always had the part I needed. I recently visited the Cascade Villages store. A young man helped my find 3 sets of wipers for 3 cars. When I got home, I started installation. 4 our of 6 wipers were incorrect. So I returned the next day. I asked for a manager to assist me. She identified the problem and found the correct items this time. I went home and started installation. Working on the last car, the wiper box did not have the 'adapters' package included within it so I was unable to complete the swap out. For the third time, I returned to O'Reilly's. The gentleman behind the counter was surprised the parts were missing but immediately replaced it with a proper package of wipers and parts. While I understand that sometimes mistakes are made, I feel that 3 visits to the store for windshield wipers is a bit too much. Sadly, I won't go back to this store.

First Kendall Ford did not ask for this review like so many other dealerships have in the past. My…read morepurchase was such a stress-free experience, that I needed to provide a positive review. From start to finish I never felt any pressure. I explained that as a disabled Veteran that the most important aspect was transparency in the process, and that it be as stress free as possible. They gave fair trade in value for my 2023 Trailblazer RS, and didn't try to upsell me on useless add-ons. This kept the Ranger in my price range and even got the payment better than I was expecting considering the expense of everything these days. From Patrick who took my initial long-winded email, setting the parameters for the trade in and purchase, to my Salesperson Brian. It was a smooth and seamless process. Brian took time to get all the tech set up, and it was never one of those awkward engagements. It was like going over something with your buddy down the street. He even gave me a follow-up call to see how I was enjoying the Truck. This experience was hands down one of the best in 40 years of buying cars and trucks. I chose a Ford Ranger XL 4WD in Velocity Blue and while everyone these days has an opinion; I have nothing but praise for the Ford Team. This truck is a pleasure to drive, even finding myself keeping to 65 MPH between Bend and Redmond just to extend the time behind the wheel. This truck might be what is considered the cheap version, but nothing about it feels cheap. I'm an Infrastructure Engineer, and the technology the truck comes with is just enough for me to enjoy. The seats are hands down the most comfortable that I've sat in, and I don't even miss the heated seats of the Trailblazer. I recently owned a 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 and the Ranger leaps above it in comfort to me anyhow. The noise in the cab is minimal which was a huge deal for me, and I am looking forward to a long road trip in this truck. Being able to sit at the same level as the full-size trucks is another win, as I now don't feel like I'm being run over by all the lifted trucks here in Central Oregon. Now it's time to mod it, and since it's the XL, I can customize it to my taste, yet it doesn't feel like a stripped-down truck. On order are some Icon Matte Black Vector 6 Wheels, a Tonneau cover, and some window Vent Shades will help personalize it. Window Tint, Ford Tow Package, and bug guard to come later. Do your homework, prepare for the visit, and I say you also will enjoy the process as much as I did. Zero buyers' remorse and that says a lot, because it's been years since I enjoyed a vehicle purchase this much.

Customer service is non-existent. All employees need to read Kendall's mission statement.read more

The experience was 'meh', purely transactional and nothing exceptional…read more The good: -Polite and mostly responsive sales people, knowledgeable about the used truck I was interested in. -ultimately repaired a ripped seat for free (though we never discussed it, nor did I request it), I believe this was in response to a less than average review provided previously The not so good: - Test drove with one sales guy who said they could work with us on price then turned us over to another who flat out would not, even a small concession would have improved this rating, but when the markup was I'm sure in their favor didn't create sympathy for them. - Truck had some big knocks in the brakes 24 hrs after purchasing. They offered to have a look but said we'd have to schedule it online & it would cost us. Took it to Les Schwab and had the brakes fixed for free. - It was usually ~1week between communication from them on the checkins and follow ups on a few items.

Normally I wouldn't post in complaint of a place not giving a veteran discount. But this place…read morerubbed me the wrong way and made me feel as if my service to my country didn't matter. I went in with full intentions to buy a car, and fully understanding the car buying experience isn't what it used to be. The art of negotiations is done. So I just did what I always do when buying a car say hey "I am a Marine Corps veteran can you work that into the conversation with you manager to get a better deal." The response I got was pretty shocking to me and should make any veteran considering buying a car from this dealership take a step back and go somewhere else. I was going to buy this car regardless of receiving a veteran discount or not. The worst you can do is not try to save a little. But the response just didnt sit right with me. I was told that unless I severed 20+ years or discharged from the military with the last 2 years, they would consider that for a discount. Now I am not a 2 year service member nor was I a weekend warrior. I served 10 years with the full intention of doing 20 years. I deployed with 2 tours in combat zones! I sacrificed my body for this country and was given a full medical retirement after 10 years! But just to be told by a major business in the local community that my service didnt matter to them. This is absurd veteran status is veteran status. Doesn't matter when I was discharged nor is it any of your damn business if I served 40 years or 2 years. You dont know what a service member has been through. And companies like this should be ashamed by not giving the 1% something as simple as a military discount. You have completely lost my business. I will never buy a car from you or your affiliate dealerships, and I hope veterans read this and see this is just wrong!
