You cannot believe they're 50% off. They have two carpets that are available and supposedly they are their best carpet so their prices are so elevated by the time you get 50% off I was still at $7000 for three bedrooms, a hallway and 20 stairs. I received other quotes for half that price don't believe their false advertising. they tell you the carpet is so superior that's why it's so high and then they cut that in half which is still not a deal at all. Salesman was very cocky and acted like that was a great price. What a joke. they also scheduled an appointment on Sunday and totally blew me off. No-show no call and then scheduled another appointment on their own without me even being involved just picked their own day and their own time. I recently requested to install laminate flooring on all of upstairs in addition to the staircase. I was initially told that this would be finished all in one day, however, due to a shortage of supplies, the installation ended up requiring 3 separate visits (spread over 2 weeks). As a result, there ended up being two different teams who worked on the installation (one to install the flooring, and another to do the staircase). The first group who made the initial two visits and took care of the flooring did great job. They made sure to set up the transition upstairs into the staircase for the final installation, making sure to leave a proper gap and slight slope for the top landing piece. The issue is with the second set of installers who arrived 2 weeks later to finish up the stair case. Despite the fact that there was enough space left to properly install the top landing piece, the second group cut corners and did not take the steps to properly measure and fit the top landing piece. For context, my staircase is L-shaped, with two turns. This means that there are a total of 3 landing pieces, the starting one at the very top of the staircase, and another at each of the two turns going down. Out of these three, the two going down are both installed properly. There is only an issue with very first landing. Unlike the others, this first piece is not smooth and flat. It is much thicker than it should be and there is no actual transition from the rest of the floor, so it just looks like a random piece of thick wood that is sitting on top of the floor. In addition, it is less than half the width of the two other landing pieces (only 5cm versus the others being 11cm), which makes the thickness and lack of transition look even more awkward. Aesthetics aside, aside from feeling uncomfortable, I noticed that when I step on this top landing piece, it does not feel as stable nor safe as the others. I reached out to customer service to request a fix, explaining how the flooring was installed by two separate teams, and showed them pictures of the improper installation. What i got in response was: " Thank you for addressing your concerns, however the stairs are installed up to industry standards, if we change the format, it will void your warranty." And radio silence afterwards, even after I tried to follow up. I'm given no options even though I am dissatisfied with my installation, and this company is refusing to even make the effort to communicate let alone find a solution. read more

The carpet looks horrible unless you do that, plus the stretching only lasts about 6 months and the HUGE creases come right back! The LVP looks cheap- especially on my stairs. Worse carpet I ever had. Had 2 rooms installed and within only about 18 months, carpet began to buckle. Empire said that I missed the cutoff for the guarantee. I spoke to a manager who promised to call me back after researching any alternative. He never called. I've posted a review on here with pictures a few months ago. Absolutely DO NOT waste your money on Empire. I made the terrible mistake of spending $15,000 with them in May 2023, only to have my flooring completely botched. The LVP flooring started coming up almost immediately, and even the contractor they sent admitted it was due to improper installation--yet their official report magically said otherwise. I sent countless emails, spoke to multiple people, and got absolutely nowhere. Instead of taking responsibility for their shoddy work, they had the audacity to quote me another $8,000 just to fix their own mistakes! They outright REFUSED to fix the flooring, leaving me stuck with a disaster. I finally had it redone by another company, and--surprise, surprise--it was confirmed AGAIN that Empire did a horrible job. They didn't even bother installing a moisture barrier, which is basic industry standard. This company is nothing but a scam, preying on customers with poor workmanship and zero accountability. The salesman was awesome, the workers were also very efficient. However, the product dosent get such a great review. Some of it might be partially my fault, as I actually went to grab food as they proceeded. The carpet is very low grade. It was chosen due to some hues we thought were present, that just didn't show up after installation. Much darker than originally viewed. The padding was supposed be the best to lift the carpet, as it was the thickest padding. It actually feels like walking on very cheap low grade carpet​, or even padded floor. read more

Buyer Beware. This is a dishonest company that is selling an inferior product. I paid $7,500 for carpeting that doesn't match the sample that I picked out. The installers were awful. They left a huge mess of carpet fibers all over my lawn, put heavy furniture back in the wrong places, walked on my new carpet with wet boots, and there are seams in the middle of rooms and the hallway. It looks like they used remnants instead of room size carpet rolls. Empire's customer service is awful. I have left dozens of messages and nobody calls me back. First of all this company is not an honorable company, I'm a senior citizen and I had a honest salesman come to my house and he gave me a price for my project after we went back and forth I agreed to pay the final price that was given this salesperson then called in the order just to find out that the company would not do the project for the price that their own salesperson quoted me the company even went as far to discipline the salesperson over the phone where I was able to hear the conversation from the female supervisor to the salesperson which was VERY wrong to do that where a customer could hear it. I had hardwood floors, install on my staircase and upstairs loft . The sales rep was great!! The pricing was a bit expensive but for what they claimed to offer, which was lifetime warranty on any scratches or accidents or damage seem to be relatively worth it. They outsourced to a terrible group of guys who we constantly had to go behind and point out gaps and flooring popping up and they wouldn't switch the contractors. They said they needed to give them a chance to make it right ... which turned into a chance after chance! They ended up coming back three times to read here the same few stairs and close gaps! Then we call to utilize the warranty because of scratches ...of course they were accidental ...who would deliberately scratch their flooring?! They denied the claim which we appealed, and they denied the appeal saying that the damage was not accidental. REALLY?!! Like most furniture insurance companies they find loopholes to wiggle their way out of doing what they're supposed to do ... what they boasted to do in the beginning. Poor customer service and they're full of lies and manipulation. They do not deliver what they initially tell you that they will, which is quality work, quality service, and a lifetime warranty on the flooring. I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE and wish I had gone with a different company! And because I had not utilized their warranty service, I asked for a refund ...of course you only have so many days to ask for a refund on the warranty before it becomes prorated so they give you a fraction of what you paid them for the warranty, which I'm assuming is how they make a lot of their money! Second time in a year we asked for a quote. First time prices were from $4,600 to $5,800. This time completely new sales person. He began with an initial quote of $21,000 but said he would get us some discounts. His final quote with his boss on the speaker phone was $9,600. I had two impressions: first I thought I was bargining for a used car(lots of BS in the conversations), second a 45% discount off a bogus price is no discount. I don't use this word often, but SLEAZY salesman comes to mind. We used Empire about 5yrs ago for carpet at our old home and had a decent experience so we figured we would call them for our new home. Long story short, they WILL take advantage of you if they can and their prices are ridiculous. 1st off - our salesman didn't bring in all his samples at once. He would bring in a few at a time and if we didn't like any then he would go get more. This is either him being lazy or IMO I feel like he brought the expensive samples in first hoping we would go for them and not want to see more. 2nd - once we had our materials chosen, the first quote he gave us was $28k. I told him that we would need more time to discuss this and we couldn't make a decision right now. THEN he brings out his "incentives", let them put a sign in the yard while they work and let them start on a week day and they'll knock $6k off and bring it down to $22k. Now I am annoyed. You just offered me 2 BS incentives that have nothing to do with the product itself and you managed to knock $6k off? And why didn't you mention this to begin with? Oh because you wanted to rip me off and get more $. I do NOT like dishonest businesses and at this point even if I LOVED the materials, just out of principal I wouldn't do business with them. I'm annoyed but I am not confrontational so I told him that was still a lot of money and we still needed time to think about it just to get him out of the house at this point but THEN he pulls the "let me talk to my manager" BS and SHOCKER, they knock another $2k off if we agree *now* and let them start the following week. Now I am VERY annoyed and honestly pissed, especially when he says something to the extent of "if you don't agree now, but you decide you want to do it tomorrow, it goes back up to $28K". I purchased hard laminate from them maybe in 2018. So in 2020 I thought they would be pretty good in replacing my carpet on the 2nd level of my house. The installer left raised spikes in my carpet near door / wall connections and even along my stearsteps. I called and they sent the installers back. They still we're not efficient because I found more as they left. So then here comes the pandemic - stopped everything. So as I called to let them know that now their recently installed carpet is buckleing up. Three Strikes, You're Out! I scheduled an appointment online with Empire for a sales rep to give me an estimate on replacing the carpet in my home. Surprisingly, they offered me a next-day appointment, with a three-hour time window and a confirmation email. The next morning, the time came and went--no sales rep, no call, no email. Nothing. I called their 800 number, explained the situation, and was told they'd contact the local office. After a short hold, the rep apologized, offered a $75 credit, and rescheduled another three-hour window. Once again, no one showed up--no phone call, no explanation. One older gentlemen dollie slipped fully loaded refrigerator hit the floor..but he didn't do it...manager says falling off of a dollie could never cause this damage. Oh but on the last day the floor installer says to me "oh and I adjusted your refrigerator doors. Adjust them? Why did he have to? After spending $17k - not the best price available from local competitors at the time - for some carpet and Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring, the LVP developed issues that the independent inspection report identified along with important installation steps now routine but not then commonly taken. It has now been three months (eight weeks was the normal time frame for a response per Empire) since the manufacturer claim was submitted to Shaw, and we have yet to hear back from Shaw for resolution. Nor was there a reply to my recent email to Empire for clarification. After calling Empire Customer Service, today, I was told that there was no open file on the matter; so had I not called there would be no pending action. If i could give them 1/2 a star I would... STAY AWAY FROM EMPIRE TODAY. Yes, they will hook you with their reasonable prices and financing but dealing with them about their cheap materials later will be your worst nightmare. I had vinyl flooring installed and about 6 months later it began to peel at the surface making it easy for dirt and grime to stick to the edges of the planks. I called to ask them to replace the damaged pieces and they have taken months to approve and complete the work. I was initially told the floors would be under full warranty by the sales person and bow they wanna tell me i would have to cover labor costs for the pieces of defective material to removed and replaced. TO FIX A DEFECTIVE AND HONESTLY WHAT APPEARS TO BE A CHEAP PRODUCT THEY SOLD ME ON. Definitely stay away from them. I was also trying to leave a review on Google but they have tons of what appear as AI generated 5 star reviews flooding their website. BEWARE OF EMPIRE TODAY. The carpet in the sample was light grey..when it was installed it had blotches of grey and white. When I complained the customer service said it was probably a reflection from the walls?? (which makes no sense) Then there was the floors..I ordered Luxury Vinyl Flooring.. but the flooring was thin and there was no padding at all so when you walk on it you feel the cement under the vinyl. Nothing was said when I looked at the flooring about the need for a padding as a cushion at the time. Then the installer said he only had 1/2 in trim to finish the job and some of my living room required a larger trim so he couldn't finish the job. Now it been a few weeks with no one finishing the trim and the job. I just got a message from the customer service rep. and they said I have to go out and buy trim for the job even though I have already been charged for the trim for the job. I don't know what kind of trim to buy or the length or size..but Empire wants me to buy the trim. I called back to speak to the girl that left the message but was told she left early friday..every time I call she is unavailable. Now they say I have not paid for the flooring yet and they want the money for the flooring now and I said when the work is complete I will pay but not until it is finished. So they want the flooring paid before the work is complete and they expect me to buy the trim even though it is in the estimate. How do companies like this stay in business??? If there was a no star rating I would mark that. P.S. The installers started the job, but left mid day telling me they would be returning later after a lunch break.  They never returned. I started calling once several hours had passed with no return of the installers.  I was told that Empire would send someone else out to finish the job.  I waited...and I waited.  2 promised and scheduled dates came and went NO ONE SHOWED UP. My entire kitchen was full of my living room furniture.  This area...the KITCHEN is where my stove and refrigerator is located. For 3 days and 2 nights I could NOT access the area.   The job was finally completed after numerous complaint calls that I was forced to make all while trying to care for my children and my new baby.   LVP flooring has buckled since the day it was installed. Staircase to LVP gap (see pictures) My attempts to resolve this was immediate and to this day gone unresolved.   During one of my calls I spoke to a Manager that expressed a sincere apology and offered a 15% discount. In all realty, 15% does not cover the cost of food we had to purchase out due to having no kitchen. To add insult to this matter I started receiving statements from Empire that did NOT reflect the 15% discount. Once again I called and called to resolve the matter.   Finally, speaking to another manager an appointment to come to my home and repair the flooring issues was set for today, 10/16/2019.   I received a call from someone at Empire named Amber.  She stated the installers will not be out today. Are you serious? I told her I've already taken the day off work...?!? Amber proceeded to tell me that someone will be out this Saturday. Oh and get this...Ambers manager stated he was only willing to give $200 off not the 15%.   I was told that the Manager that gave me that discount had been fired.  Odd,  I had just spoke with her on Friday the 11th. EMPIRE SUCKS!!! My mom and I scheduled appointments in two different cities for carpet installation. Riverside and Laguna Niguel. My moms experience in riverside was horrible. They cancelled three times on her, never showed, and never contacted her that they weren't showing up. They just completely ghosted. My experience was different. I got a much faster response and actually had an appointment where they showed up but the sales rep was lazy, a liar, and made false promises. When Craig first showed up he only brought 1 sample to show me, I had to ask if he had anything else to show and his response was "yeah it's in the car, but I have to go get it". It was like he was trying to limit me to what he wanted to show, maybe he got a commission on certain carpet and only wanted to show what he could get money for, I don't know but it was frustrating. So after three times of asking him to bring more carpet I was able to finally pick something I liked. When it came time to pay, I noticed that the square footage he quoted me for was WAAAAY more than what the area was, he "reassured" me that the extra carpet was for "waste" and that it would be okay. Being 23, buying a home for the first time, and getting carpet on my own it made sense so I didn't think it was that big of a deal. He also promised me that they would remove extra carpet FREE OF CHARGE that I had that was not apart of the installation job. I asked many many many times to ensure this was okay and he kept telling me "I've been doing this for 20yrs. I was top sales man for a reason last year. Trust me, they'll take the carpet FREE OF CHARGE, just tell the installers when they get here that Craig said it's okay". After waiting two weeks for installation, the installers came and the first thing I mentioned was taking the extra carpet and they said "yeah, no. We don't take extra carpet." I was taken by surprise and started to call customer service because this was not what Craig told me. One service rep told me I had to contact the installation manager and see if it's okay with them. I never got a phone number so I asked the installers about it and he said "oh yeah my manager said no. You have to pay more if you want it taken." So I called the customer service line again, got on the line with this horribly rude lady named "Lora, or "Laura" who was no help, would not listen to what I had to say, and just flat out told me no and hung up without actually helping me talk to a manager about anything. I finally randomly got a call from Craig (the sale rep) and told him how much of a liar he was and how he was creating a huge deal for me when he promised a simple solution when he could've told me no in the beginning about the carpet. He ended up finally calling the service line after many people tried to get a hold of him and couldn't. They got the issue resolved after I spent 3 hours trying to get a hold of someone to fix the issue. When the installers were leaving I asked for any extra carpet that I had paid for and they gave it to me, it was so much extra carpet the installers thought I had another room to get carpeted. It was seriously so much left over I probably paid about $300 over what I needed to. The installers told me that this is why they hate empire today. They over charge their customers, lie endlessly to get sales, and they'll rarely ever fix problems. They were surprised that I got someone to do what their sales rep had PROMISED to do. In short, Empire Today sucks. Their prices are horrible, the reps are scum bags, and they don't care about creating life long customers. DONT use Empire if you can go somewhere else. I don't know why this company is getting such bad reviews. I will give my most honest review and my experience dealing with this company. You will see why I gave this company 5 stars at the end. A year ago my wife and I decided to have our carpet and lamented floor in the kitchen removed and have hard wood flooring done on the downstairs part of our home. After the sales person came and we picked the floor we liked, we went ahead and have them install it. The price was a bit steep but we negotiated it down to a reasonable level, even though we still think it's a bit high. The company believe in their product is willing to back it up, they gave us warranty on it. The floor was installed and it was beautiful, the installers did a great job. However, from the beginning, it made a weird "cracking sound when you walk on certain parts of it. I call their customer service to report and spoke to a lady name Jasmine. She also called prior to see how we liked the results as a follow up. I made three calls of complaint total and each time I called, they sent someone out to check on the floor. None of them can figure out how to resolve it. Finally in December 2018 they decided to add floor oil over the entire floor to get rid of the cracking sound. This worked for about 4 months, and earlier in March of this year it started happening again. I called them gain, and this time I told them the product was defective to begin with. I can't have Empire today keep coming out to oil my floor every year. After this call, they decided to go ahead and replace my entire floor. So in late April 2019, a sales person came out again and let us choose a different floor. Then a week later, the installers were back, removing the originally installed floor from 2018 and replacing them with the new one we picked out. It took them about 4 days to complete and it turned out beautifully. Overall, we were very satisfied with the results. The molding around the side and edges of the floor was done nicely. The company fixed their floor issues, even though it requires replacing the entire floor. Would I recommend them to my family and friends? Definitely! I hope you find this review useful. read more
