I made an appointment for measurements for a quote for flooring this morning. No show and no call

I really wanted to give JGB Flooring 5 stars. I contacted Gerardo a few weeks before June 1st. He provided a great quote after I sent pics and we confirmed June 1-2 as the project day. The day came for the job and Gerardo arrived with Gerardo Jr. They were both polite and seemed to know exactly what they were doing. I was really excited to get the job completed. After two days the job was completed and upon first glance I was truly happy. I noticed the next day that the baseboards they installed for us still showed holes and the edges had gaps. I thought their price was so good, I would just have my husband fill the holes in with caulk. A few days later, I also noticed that there were two planks with a wide gap. I remember reading in another review that Gerardo was really quick to reply if there were issues, so I called him. After two calls, two text and no reply, I called a third time. Gerardo then told me not to worry about the gaps and that they would fill in themselves in a week. When I questioned his statement, he said "he would come by the next day to check it". Unfortunately, he never came. I called him a fifth time asking for help with the boards and he text me saying he was in a funeral in Texas and would call me back in a few days. I texted him one last time to give him an opportunity to help us and he has yet to reply. I'm just really disappointed because I thought he was nice and even paid a tip on top of what he quoted but I suppose once the job is done he has no desire to assist the customer with any issues. I guess I will have to try and repair the loose boards myself. read more

This guy was supposed to show up to do ONE room in my house. He shows up on Monday and then says that he needs other stuff, I told him that's ok. He left to go to Home Depot to pick up materials and his son was supposed to stay to demo carpet. Then he calls me from the road and says it's going to take him longer than he had thought and he had another job after 3 days so he doesn't feel comfortable getting paid if he has to come back. I told him that's okay, I'll pay you upfront. He then says well it's going to cost me more because it's more work. I asked him how much more, he increases the price by $500. I said okay. He then says no, I don't want to do the job. Absolutely not reliable. I can't imagine how it's like to actually work with him. So disappointed at the situation he's put me in. I had Gerardo demo and install new tile flooring in a tiny 5x5 guest bathroom a few years ago. The tiles were regular 6x6 tiles, he did a great job so I called him to do my expensive kitchen backsplash. I messaged him with pictures to make sure he will be able to make straight cuts in these tiny pieces and he confirmed "yes, of course! It's just tile!" On installation day, after a few hours of work, he struggled to put the pieces together although they were attached with mesh and said "I don't like puzzles." And had a hard time making even lines. I should've asked him to stop at that moment but instead, I kept asking him to remove and replace the uneven tiles. Next day was grout day, there were a lot of large gaps that he said he would fill with grout which I refused and tried to have him fix them all. These were expensive tile and were supposed to be the highlight of my new kitchen. The next day there was haze over the tile he installed so I called him to come finish the grouting and clean the tile and he would not call back or respond to messages. I did not expect that from him. I had to hire someone else to grout his messy job. So beware, he is good for easy simple installations and will say yes to jobs that are way over his head and when he can't do them correctly, he will abandon it. read more

Gerardo Sanchez the owner did our guest room laminate flooring in Feb 2023. On the final day before leaving he demanded that we pay him full amount through Zelle. We asked him to send us the invoice since he said his work comes with 1 year labor warranty. He said he will send it by tomorrow but we should pay him right away. We trusted him and made the full payment. Couple of days went by there was no invoice. I texted him and he reverted saying that he is leaving for Mexico for some family emergency and will text me when he is back. Within a week floor was wobbly and shaky. I called him left voicemail, texted him since the new floor was causing issues. He never reverted or answered my calls or messages. It's been 3 months now have left him text and voicemail messages. I feel really disappointed and cheated since floor issues after his work has not been fixed and neither he has ever responded and I now I feel like he has literally disappeared. read more

We hired Gerardo for a large job in our home- over 2000 square feet of wood-look tile with baseboards. The job lasted four weeks in April 2020. While I am mostly happy with the results, I did immediately notice one of our stairs had issues with the installation and let Gerardo know the very next day after the job was complete. Gerardo states that he has a one year "warranty" on installation but insures you will not need it. Well, we do. I've called and text messaged him numerous times for the past three months and get the run around. I would have given him five stars had he followed through with his "installation warranty" and fixed the stair as the tile came loose, the metal edging is sticking out and the grout will not stay put due to the flex that is occurring. Gerardo is very nice, his crew is friendly and I never felt uncomfortable having them in our home for weeks during our project. We had small issues here and there which are to be expected with construction. His pricing is very competitive as well. I wish I could say that I am 100% satisfied, but I am not. A simple repair job on a poorly installed stair would have resulted in complete satisfaction and a five star review. read more

They seemed to have decent reviews so through a conversation (via messages here on Yelp) we agreed on a day and time JGB was going to arrive to give an in person estimate. I moved things around my schedule to accommodate the appointment. Sadly the gentleman never arrived. I even verified that I had set the correct appointment time/date. Not even a phone call or text....A huge disappointment and very disrespectful in my opinion.
