Submitting an appointment request online was simple although you can't go more than 7 days in advance. Salesman Mr. Pete Perez came to the house exactly on time. He didn't try to upsell me on anything and respected my knowledge as an architect. He even did research on post-tensioned concrete slabs when I noted that in the online scheduling form. Mr. Perez worked with me to get the pricing where my budget needed it to be. Installation was scheduled at my convenience for a couple of days later. The installers are third party. Nick phoned before arriving, wore an Empire t-shirt, set to work promptly and was professional in all regards. There was a miscommunication on quantity but Empire handled it and nobody mentioned any additional cost above my contract amount. That high level of professional responsibility is great to see. A little bit of installation work was scheduled for first thing this morning. Nick finished the job quickly and to the highest level of craftsmanship and quality. Mr. Perez quickly responded to questions I had snd checked back to ensure all went well. Payment was completed after I accepted the installation by calling an Empire answered 888 number so the installer doesn't know your payment information. It looks fantastic. I could not be happier. I highly and unequivocally recommend Empire Today with Mr. Pete Perez as sales representative and Nick as installer. I have a similar project budgeted for next year and will not hesitate to use the same product, sales representative and installer. read more

Read your contract and then read it again! We thought we had done our due diligence, especially since we paid extra for the extended warranty. When our flooring cracked, we contacted Empire right away to file a claim and spoke with MANY different people throughout the process. Eventually, we were told our claim had been denied, but no one could tell us why. After multiple calls, we finally got an answer: apparently, we were supposed to call a separate phone number specifically for the warranty company. Not ONE person we spoke with at Empire ever told us, "Hey, you need to call this number to file your warranty claim." By the time we were finally given the correct information, we were told we were outside the five-day reporting window, so the warranty we paid extra for would no longer cover the damage. So learn from our experience: read every detail of your warranty and make sure you know exactly who you're supposed to contact if something goes wrong. I do not recommend empire flooring. I recommend never using Empire Flooring. I paid Empire Flooring to replace my entire house with hardwood flooring and 3 bedrooms of carpet less than a year ago. The installation took forever. The workers didn't come to work until around noon and then wanted to stay through the evening. I had an elderly dog who had since died, urinate in the bedrooms where the carpet was replaced. Even though I was charged they did not replace the padding because instantly the urine spots were present. Secondly, my washer and dryer failed and so i needed to revamp the floor plan and I needed 20 square feet of replacement hardwood. I emailed asking for help and received no response. I called and they said i would have to go through a sales rep and he would call me within 24-72 hours. He never called. I finally called their head office in the midwest. I talked to a person who was very helpful. She gave me the manufacturer of the flooring and said she would have someone get back to me. that same day i got an email from them saying they had been trying to call me with no success. This is an absolute lie. I know if i get calls even if they are missed. So i called the number because i am having a hard time getting that particular flooring from other stores. The woman was arrogant and not helpful. She didn't listen to me and said unfortunately, i have to enter into another contract with them. I lost my temper and swore at her and she disconnected. I should not have sworn at her, but this company is the absolute worst and i was at my wit's end. I would NEVER do business with them again. I need 20 square feet of the product that I just had them install less than a year ago. I paid their company a lot of money and I have never received poorer customer service from anyone bar none. There are many flooring stores and I have talked to many trying to rundown this 20 square feet and they have bent over backwards to help me. I cannot stress enough that this company is terrible. I'm going to give a bad review because I was told by the man who sold us our floors that any repair needed they would fix and I'm saying this about empire today. I have a board lifting because of water spilling on the board and it lifting so it is water damage . My husband said it was because he dries off outside the shower. So it is not covered under my warranty. Also there's is a stain from something spilling on my floor in the kitchen. I have to tell them within 5 days for that to be covered under my warranty. Who has the time to call and be on top of that 5 days when you work take care of your elderly parents take care of the running of your house. Oh I should've made time. So what is the use of a warranty if you can't use it. Why do you get lied to by the sales person that says it will get fixed no problem and then it has to follow guidelines for the use of the warranty. I would not recommend using Empire to a dog. The installer messed up my door, my door was locking fine before the installer started working. After he finished the job my door does not lock or close correctl. I called customer service, told me to take picture, which I did, now he tells me I'm responsible to fix it myself. The installer took my door off and shaved it. But I'm the one who is responsible( make that make sense). They basically told me I'm lying about my door. I called them again to come take the floor up. Empire Today advertises a "lifetime warranty," but it's meaningless. Reps flat-out lied and told me they'd called me back when they never did -- I have proof they didn't. I followed up repeatedly by email and got silence in return. After months of being ignored, I finally had to call and demand a supervisor myself. That's how I got Garrett. He promised me a callback within 24 hours. That was almost a week ago now. Nothing. No call, no email. Sorry, I'm not permitted to use the language here that I used talking to customer support at Empire today for the 4th time. We had new living room carpet installed on 9/1/2026. overall we were satisfied with the installation, so mush so that I decided to tip the two installers as they were loading up their van. one of the men was on his knees at his tool box and I didn't think any thing about it. Later that evening as my wife and I were leaving the house, my wife noticed some shiny nails in the gravel driveway where their van was parked. It was clear that had dropped a container at some point. As we were picking up the the mess we noticed it was more than a couple of nails. luckily I had some strong magnets and we spent close to a half hour picking up , various types of screws, nails and staples. It was obvious that they were tired of cleaning up the mess, it was kicked around and under the gravel in order to conceal the mess they made. Round 2: On Sept 8th I called Empire today to report that the carpet was coming up where it joined the foyer tiles. Customer Support created a ticket to have this addressed. Two weeks later I did not receive any contact from them and called to follow up on this. Not surprised, they had no record of this repair ticket. Once again they created a second ticket to have the problem addressed and I demanded to speak to someone in my area to get a definitive answer as to when someone would be out to fix this. A gentleman from the Cleveland office, about sixty miles away contacted me on 10/15 and said there would be an installer in my area on 10/19 to address the problem however, could not give me a specific time. I agreed to be available for the entire day. No surprise, no phone call, no text messages and no show. Today it starts all over again, more calls, more apologies and another ticket to have this repaired. It's amazing. If I call about getting new flooring installed, they would send someone out same day to make a sell and collect payment but trying to get a repair to work that they have already done is like pulling teeth. This company is clearly about sales, which is why during this whole ordeal, my email has been bombarded several times a day for weeks to purchase more flooring from them at discount prices. The installers dropped my Ethan Allen Hutch that was my wife's mother. It was important to her. The installers didn't let us know what they had done. Once I saw the damage, I let Empire know about the damage. They said they would give me a $100 for the damage. We paid more than that for the installers to move it. After the workers (neither of whom spoke English) installed our LVP floor and left, we discovered a deep gouge in our brand new synthetic marble bathroom counter. I recalled hearing a power tool dropping in our bathroom when one of the workers was in there to use the restroom, but forgot about it when he came back out. When I complained about the damage, the supervisor told me that since nobody saw who caused the damage, they weren't responsible. Soon after the install, small bubbles started to appear in a couple planks, and two big bumps also appeared on a couple of them. When they came to repair the damage, the two large bumps were caused by baseboard nails they had installed the planks over. They probably repaired a total of about 6 different planks. Each repair was done very sloppily, and most of those planks now click whenever we walk on them. Some planks that were never repaired are now starting to lift up and click.Two of the bumps were simply hammered down, making them look worse than they did before we called. I am too nervous to have them come back to fix their work because I don't want them to make things even worse. I would recommend that nobody use this company. read more

We are extremely disappointed with our experience. We were sold flooring at a premium price, and about a year later it began to buckle and bubble. Our claim was denied immediately--before anyone even inspected it--on the basis of 'water damage' in an area that has never been exposed to water. After weeks of cancelled appointments, a service technician finally came out and confirmed she did not see any signs of water damage. Despite that, I was just informed the claim is being denied again for the same reason. However, if something goes wrong and you have to deal with customer service, you will be thoroughly frustrated and angry. All I wanted was for them to fix a hole in my carpet - I didn't care if it was under warranty or not and was willing to pay for it. For the first 2 weeks of trying to get get someone to my house to fix it, I gave them the benefit of the doubt when it came to the extremely poor communications and service. It's now over a month and I still a) can't get them on the phone, b) can't get any response to emails, and c) get someone here to fix the hole. To give you an idea, I've called their automated system yesterday morning and "held my place in line" for a call back. I was never called back. I've called 3 times today alone doing the same and have not heard anything for hours. Absolutely pathetic and frustrating. If you don't have to deal with their customer service folks, everything will be fine - but you should keep this under consideration before purchasing from them. We had carpet installed in 2023, and from the beginning there were noticeable issues, including uneven, bumpy areas and sections that were not properly stretched. We used Empire Today years ago and had a wonderful experience, so when it came time to put in new floors we decided to go with them again. The floors themselves are beautiful, BUT the experience this time has been an absolute nightmare from the very beginning. We have had to call multiple times because the flooring is splitting and buckling. Every time, they make us send pictures, then we hear nothing. We call back, they say they need to send someone out, and again we hear nothing. When someone finally does come, the cycle just starts all over again. At this point, we still owe thousands of dollars on what has turned out to be the worst flooring and the worst customer service we've ever had. Do not use them. A salesman came out to give us a quote to replace the old carpet in all of the carpeted areas. We walked every space and discussed how the installation would take place. The original quote was 15-16 thousand for pet friendly grade carpet and padding, and told him respectfully no thank you it was too much. He adjusted his figure and came up with another price around 12-13 thousand. I said it was more than we wanted to spend. This guy would not take no for an answer. He called his office again to see if they can lower it further, and he came back with everything price of $8600. Seems better right? The installers came out as scheduled and I walked them through the carpeted areas that needed replacing. He said something was wrong that they didn't have enough carpet. Turned out, the salesman removed sq ftg by removing the hallway and a room (which is all the same carpet connecting to the rooms) and changed the padding for a lower grade to get the price down. I called the salesman and he played stupid and told me I needed to come up with another 2500 to finish all the remaining areas he removed. Don't trust this company. The salesman was shady. Bait and switch at its finest. I never felt so ripped off over a purchase before. They parked their huge van at the edge of our multi-car carport, blocking visibility and endangering everyone entering or leaving. When I politely asked them to move, one snapped "NO" and turned away. Later, they rolled out their carpet across the entire carport driveway, completely blocking access for all residents. There was plenty of curb space and grass nearby--they ignored it. Their behavior was rude, unsafe, and unbelievably careless. Other residents couldn't reach their cars; it was a mess. After learning they weren't management contractors but privately hired Empire workers, I realized this company clearly has no standards for professionalism. We paid over $10k for LVP flooring in our house. Not even 9 months later, one of the planks began to rot up against the wall. After painfully requesting a rep come out and review the rotting plank, it took several weeks before they finally returned with a response. They were NOT going to honor the warranty and repair the damage, claiming that our 17 year old arthritic dog, who can barely hold himself up, must have clawed at the plank, destroying it. We had luxury vinyl installed four years ago. From the very start you could tell it was a poor quality job. Hollow spots, lifting and curling vinyl and uneven flooring. We found out later, that our installers were drinking, partying and urinating in our yard, as we hadn't moved in yet. Someone came out and replaced a couple pieces, within a year. They confirmed they did a poor job of installing. Because of the one year warranty, they will do nothing further, other than give us an estimate to replace and repair. This after spending $13,000. They don't even deserve 1 star Up until our last carpet installation of carpet I loved and was happy with empire from previous carpet installation in our previous house. I referred family and friends. But the last installation we purchased carpet for all upstairs which is 4 bedrooms, stairs and hallways with all closets. Since the initial install we had to get them to fix issues because we felt the nails going up the stairs and on the edges. Then had to call them out again because several rooms and closets had wrinkles/ripples so they came out to fix. Again noticed other rooms had same issues. Even rooms that were not being used much. So pretty much every room they came and fixed. Mind you when we got carpet installed all upstairs was completely empty that we couldn't understand why this was happening. The install should've been done correctly. Now seeing that if you don't use power stretcher that's why it will happen. Which I remember seeing them only using the knee stretcher. To this day every room, closets, even non walk in closets, hallways have ripples, wrinkles and buckling all throughout . And of course warranty expired that to fix it's with our expense. But not even that isn't the only problem that now we have every room furnished that it be hard to fix. So beware and never go with Empire Today for carpet!! read more

What a lousy company! Stafford's did my carpet in two rooms, but didn't have the color I wanted for my living room, and neither did Empire Carpets, but they were closer to what I wanted. Less than a year after installation, the carpet jas started bubbling up all around becausethey never properly stretched the carpet out right to begin with. I called Empire about it and they told me that they would come out and fix the problem for around $200 more, after I already had all my furniture sitting on it. And when the installer mngr came to inspect, she said they can come and gave the date which was almost a month. Date/day came as promised, no one had call me. I had them install vinyl plank 5 years ago. 2 months ago, a small section in the bathroom started to peel. I called Empire and after reviewing photos I sent they stated they could use the planks I had and it would cost $375. Six weeks later, after finally getting someone to call me, they now say they can't do it, they don't carry that flooring anymore, but could replace the whole bathroom. I've also had a really bad experience. I started this project five months ago, and it's still not finished. Sometimes they claim the product is not available, and on top of that, the workers are outside contractors--not their own employees. The contractor I dealt with was dishonest and did poor-quality work. For example, they installed LVP flooring on my stairs, and there are already many gaps. They cut the stair nose incorrectly, and the one they installed makes a creaking sound whenever you step on it. I keep calling them, but every time they reschedule--from one week to the next, and then again to another week. The job is still incomplete. They also made mistakes with the measurements. They came several times just to remeasure, yet the errors continued. On top of that, there were problems with pricing: they tell you one thing, but then charge you something different. Just a warning--don't use them. They make a lot of mistakes, and there's no accountability. The contractors are from outside, the supplies are from outside, and it seems like nobody is in control. I even tried reaching out to upper management, but they refused to let me contact them. Basically, it feels like a rip-off. The workmanship is poor, and the process has been full of problems. I'll update you if they ever finish the job--but at this point, it doesn't look like they will. read more

When I asked my sales representative where the carpet and laminate were made in the USA, he wasn't sure, being new, but promised to find out. I decided to call the 800 number to see if customer service could help. Unfortunately, the two representatives I spoke with had no idea. I then asked to speak to a manager, who also didn't know and instead just sent me the warranty information. It's frustrating that no one took the initiative to research this; I had to find the answer myself, which at least gave me some peace of mind. This is basic information, and EMPIRE TODAY should ensure its employees are informed about it. We were here when the floorers moved our furniture and they were very careful. As were the painters. Yet there are noticeable scratches.
