We were looking for a licensed company in Riverside to put in engineered hardwood in half our house. We found JB Woodward through recommendations from friends in the local art community. We'd never had wood floors, our whole house was carpet and tile, so we did not know what to expect walking into their office. From the start Kim and staff were helpful and professional. They let us take home as many samples as we needed and we came back to get more before deciding. There was no sales pressure and they were upfront with pricing. They came out to measure and gave a detailed quote. Price was fair, so we decided to add baseboards and a custom rug as well. Installation started Monday with demo, and they found several unexpected foundation issues under the old carpet. These problems were dealt with professionally and the job was finished by Friday. An excellent experience from beginning to end. We went to JB Woodward Floors, knowing what we had in mind. We wanted to replace the cheap carpet our house came with. We wanted to do two rooms with laminate and one with that newer pet friendly vinyl wood-look flooring. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and were shown the different floor samples. No one was pushy and they even allow you to take the samples home if you'd like to check the color to your decor. We set up an appointment to have someone come out and measure our rooms. A nice gentleman came out and measured and then we went back and selected our flooring. Kim sent us a proposal and the pricing was very fair and we felt very comfortable with the company, so we set up a date for install. Steven and his brother came out to install on a Monday. We were given an estimate, by Kim, that the job would take two, possibly three days. Steven and his brother knocked it out in one day. The brothers were very professional, respectful, and fast! Wow! I do not have enough words of praise! We just bought a new commercial piece of property that was an old 1920s house converted into a business and the floors have been redone so many times and it was so uneven and just a disaster. We did a complete renovation and my friend told me to use JB Woodward Floors because she had used them at her house. I went in and looked at all of their samples and their flooring was amazing, they were nice, and apparently they've been a family owned business for 40 years. I did shop around a little bit and found that their prices were comparable with equal qualities. They were just so nice and helpful and I felt so comfortable with them I decided to go with it. I wanted to make sure that somebody did this job that would be around for a while and, would be accountable for the installation because I was worried with all the work that needed to be done. Installation day came and they came on time, they were there every day, they did not cut one entire corner to make it easier. Every day they were there I was happier and happier with my choice. The husband and son-in-law were two of the installers. When I came back in the day it was finished I almost cried! I am an artist and a real picky person and They honestly could not of done a better job! There was not one thing they needed to fix. It was absolute perfection. My friend had told me the same thing. I am so happy I made this choice. I am a customer for life now. They must be doing well with just word-of-mouth because when you walk in there never pushy and they're just as helpful as helpful can be without pushing you. It's just really nice. Did wood floors in two rooms and carpet in 6 rooms. Not bad but some issues: 1) I have seams showing in almost every room. I called them back to repair and it did some good for short term but they start to show again in time. They claimed it was because of the short nap of the carpet but I know better having had many a carpet laid in homes over the years---it was the lack of skill of the carpet layer. I am certain if I called the manufacturer of that carpet that I would hear the same--carpet layer lack of skill and expertise. 2) Decent job on the floors but they lack skill with the finer points like where wood floors meet tile in a bathroom---sloppy finish work. read more

We had our bathroom floor done about five years ago. We chose VCT tile and had it installed by Woodward. The tiles have never looked right... they don't touch each other on most edges. VCT tiles should have no gaps whatsoever. The tiles were also not finished properly so they aren't shiny like they should be. I didn't put in a review five years ago because we were told that the gaps would shrink over time (not sure how that was supposed to happen...). Apparently that's not correct because the gaps have never changed. A few days ago I noticed one of the tiles moved when I stepped on it. I was able to lift the tile off the floor with one finger; the glue or whatever they used was completely gone and the tile is no longer connected to the floor. This is shoddy work, especially for a company that is so proud of its vinyl tile/sheet vinyl work. I'm so disappointed because I like to support small businesses and I really thought Woodward would do great work based on their flooring in their own showroom. Unfortunately our floor has been horrible since it was installed. read more

They made some custom rugs for my motor home. They are beautiful and are just what I wanted. Highly recommend them.

I have been purchasing floor care products from this store for a few years. Their customer service has been a crap shoot. Sometimes OK to nice and other times like they are doing me a favor by being there. There are two workers who enjoy playing around at the customer's expense in a not so nice way, making fun of their patrons in an unfavorable manner. Recently, I ordered a couple of bottles of floor cleaner which they used to carry in the store but no longer do, I went to pick them up about 15 minutes before closing time on a Saturday and they had closed early. I left a VM which was not returned. I phoned the next Saturday and asked if they would be open, no apology for my inconvenience the week prior. I dropped by the store and they had the wrong cleaner. I reexplained what I want and the younger women starts saying that I had made the mistake, etc. and was not nice about it, they both were rude and disrespectful. Out of the blue, the older woman brought up that I had complained about my floor like there was something wrong about complaining about a bad floor. I buy these specialty products because of it. They did not offer to reorder the correct product. The entire visit was terrible. They were very nasty to me and it seemed intentional. The younger woman also stated that they only make a $1 profit from ordering the product, unlikely. Regardless, they suggested I go somewhere else to buy this product. I felt baited. I would never recommend this shop to anyone for any product. read more

I can't believe I never updated this (again!) when we had Woodward install laminate on our stairs and upstairs of the old house. Everything about them was fantastic - the installers were very nice (and tolerant of my protective dogs), they kept things clean, and the work was wonderful. We sold that house about a year after we installed the floors, but I think it's very much to the credit of how good the floors looked, and how well they held up. We were on a short deadline and they made sure we were able to pick it up same day from the manufacturer by contacting the company multiple times to move things along. We purchased the flooring for our contractor to install and ended up with 4 unopened boxes. We called to see if we could return them and were told that we had to return them in 10 days (it had been 14 days). We were not informed of this when we purchased the flooring and no where on any of our papers does it indicate this. We had some water damage in our home that required us to repair our laminate floors. Water damage was in the kitchen, however because we couldn't match the existing floor we had choose a different floor and we opted to do the whole house vs. just the damaged area. We had a lot of options and choices but had received a lot of very good reviews from people who had used them to do their floors. The final seal of approval was my neighbor who just happened to work with them on a joint project. He told me that their work was very good and that for the price you could not do any better. I went to the business and was working with Kim. She helped my wife and I as we looked through so many colors, materials and patterns....It seemed a bit overwhelming to be honest! She made it rather easy and allowed us to take home samples of the potential new floor. After a few hours of debating, we picked out our new floor. Kim and Bob who are the owners came back and gave us a great deal! They were not the cheapest nor the highest but all I was thinking about in my head was "you get what you pay for" and trust your gut instinct. My wife and I agreed to terms with Kim and Bob and we were ready. It took a bit to get them here but that was only because their schedule was packed! I looked at this as a good thing! I waited almost 5 weeks longer than any of the other companies. They would of started within a week! It was a tough couple of weeks leading up to the actual work but once the crew arrived it was game on! They sent Jake, Andrew and Russ all of which were great guys. They all worked around all of our stuff (meaning we did not have to pack it all up in a module or place it outside). They were quite efficient and the work was very detailed! It took them about 8 days from start to finish but the work is "GREAT"! I am so glad that we waited and feel like we got a great deal! They were easy to work with, great listeners and provided feedback during the project! I will tell anybody who reads this review to please just give them a shot if you have a project! They are all great people, pricing is very good, communication is excellent, they make you feel important regardless of size of project and lastly, the quality of work is fantastic!
