I love my new floors! I had old laminate that I hated and working with Chris to replace it was a breeze. He was very responsive, professional, and honest. There was a huge selection in store, and I was able to take home a sample so I could make sure I liked it in my house. Once I selected the LVP I wanted, I was able to get it installed in about two weeks, much quicker than I anticipated. The installers were great. I was very concerned about being displaced because of my new baby, but they were very considerate and I needn't have worried. They were on time every day and stayed as late as I let them. They inspected the floor before placing the new flooring and was brutally honest and told me they couldn't lay the new flooring because there is some damage to the sub - floor that needed attention. Long story short, short story even shorter... bought a house that someone flipped. The house is beautiful but the work they did in order to sell the house fast (although looked good at first) slowly and surely began to show signs of 'unprofessionalism.' They had installed laminate flooring, leaving absolutely no gaps for expansion. Giant bubbles started to form in the flooring as the heat from the I.E. started hitting. There was barely any type of moisture barrier. The baseboards were cut at 90degree angles even though the corners of the walls were rounded. They just filled in the baseboard gaps with caulking. I am extremely picky and detail oriented. This bothered me from day one, but oh well. 2-3 years later we start looking into new flooring. Something that absolutely had to happen whether we stay here or decide to sell in the future. Castillo Carpet Shack came highly recommended after I had already obtained some quotes from other companies that I just wasn't feeling too comfortable with. I also had no confidence in the individuals I spoke with. Once I got in contact with Chris, I felt completely at ease. He came over to the house, quoted us (which came in a bit higher than some other quotes I received), and walked us through all the different options we could do, based on what WE wanted. I liked Chris and the company and the options were well received, but I still had it in the back of my mind, that maybe I could save a bunch of money if I just did this myself. I'm not a flooring guy, but even I knew to leave gaps for expansion and knew about 'rounded' corners for baseboards. I am glad that I did not because the quality of craftsmanship that we received from Castillo Carpet Shack was way beyond my abilities. The installers were amazing and it really showed that they have been doing this day in and day out for years. They got right down to business and got right to work. I know exactly where every dollar I spent went. The installers were able to adapt to minor issues that came up on the fly and they never batted an eye. We did a really nice vinyl throughout the hardwood areas and we did a beautiful carpet in the bedrooms. We went with 5inch baseboards with rounded corners and I couldn't find a single flaw in anything they did. This is my house, so for sure, I was paying close attention. I would HIGHLY recommend Castillo Carpet Shack for all your flooring needs. They do it all, so no need to find separate contractors. And for any future flooring needs, you best be sure that I will be coming back here. read more

We needed a rush job to install vinyl planking for the entire second floor and staircase of a new house before moving in within two weeks. Chris was quick to respond with a quote based on the vague details I could provide, and the same day I could have him over for proper measurements he got the real quote to me - pretty darn close to the original estimate! With a little luck in terms of inventory and scheduling, Chris was able to have his crew out for demo and installation within the short time frame I'd given them. They worked hard for 3 days, arriving on time every day and staying until 6PM to get the work done. And the day we arrived a little late, the crew made sure to wait for us to come lock up the house before leaving. The floor looks fantastic now, even after the movers gave them quite a beating. The workers were great and installation went well. My issue was Chris came to measure and told me they would move the furniture if I moved everything from the furniture tops. I did so. When the workers arrived, they were told nothing about moving the furniture. Elvira at the shop was quite haughty, and said there was a $250 charge to move the furniture. At one point, the workers called Chris, and a child said "F%$# you" over the phone. Very unprofessional! I called my management company and they negotiated the price down to $200 which they split with me. A professional business should stand by their word, not put workers in the middle, and not have children express profanity on the phone.
