This little sandwich shop is doing it right! Everything is fresh and deliciously prepared. I'm assuming it was the owner, who greeted us and brought us samples of a delicious soup while we waited. He is very attentive and thoughtful. We also appreciated the place being so nicely clean. When our sandwiches arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to have such large servings, high quality food, and the taste! OMG!!! I had the seared ahi sandwich and my hubby had the burger with an egg on top. Both sandwiches were so juicy. We are already talking about coming back tomorrow! First, the service is outstanding- Tony was personable and you can tell takes real pride in his food. We had the tri tip sandwich, the macro bowl, and a beef empanada. I found this pretty awesome spot a couple weeks ago and now I'm back, if you haven't done so yet check out Empanada Stop, over on 242nd and Stark. Seriously, everything they make in-house is just... really top notch delicious. If you're into it, their pastrami is something else, nothing better local and the baklava is absolutely stellar! Wow! This place is beyond amazing! I had the Macro bowl which was the most delicious meal I've had in ages. Perfectly roasted baby carrots and cauliflower on top of deliciously seasoned couscous and lentils with an incredible sauce, plus half an avocado with a fried egg on top! Tri-tip sandwich is legit as are the burgers. Vegan soup is great. Homemade chips and pickles... So good, but the pickles are the stealth unexpected awesomeness. Walnut baklava is the perfect balance of sweetness without being sticky or gooey. All served up by folks who are clearly passionate about what they're doing. Wow! Food was amazing. Service was somehow even better. They make everything in house and it sure tastes like it. The kids have already convinced my husband to take us back again for lunch tomorrow and my mom and I have plans to go next week. I'm vegan and was so excited that they not only have plenty of vegan menu items but they can also make other things vegan. I had the vegan empanadas and Jade smoothie- both delicious. Excited to try the umami burger when we go back. Everyone else in my family was fighting over the soup because it was so good (it's not vegan so I couldn't try it) They also devoured the baklava and ice cream! So glad I checked them out! The food was amazing, and they were super nice. They even gave us some free samples to try. The place is on the smaller side, probably more focused on takeout, but it's super clean with several tables inside and some nice picnic tables outside if you want to eat there. Probably the worst thing about it is the name, which really doesn't represent the menu, and suggests Mexican (which it isn't). Absolutely check it out for yourself. read more
